World pizza is some of the best I've had anywhere. Their crust, sauce, and toppings are all delicious. My personal favorites include the potato pizza and the wasabi-pineapple with field roast pepperoni. Wish I could say nice things about the pizza because the staff was so nice, but the pizza was terrible. I ordered what I thought was pepperoni and pineapple although I think it was vegetarian. It tasted like a frozen pizza. The dough was flavorless and dry. The cheese tasted like it has been sitting for some time. World Pizza is working on a new pizza to add to their incredible lineup: Baked Egg Breakfast Pizza! I saw it out yesterday and had a slice - incredible! It seems that a few clients want some kind of breakfast pizza in the morning and this looks like a winner to me! World Pizza sounded familiar as I walked in the doors. Faint, hazy memories of going to grub on pizza before seeing shows at the Crocodile...you could bring inexpensive slices inside...good for absorbing alcohol... Fast forward and I'm in the ID. (International District, or Chinatown. It's cool to call it Chinatown, I don't mind. Maybe Chinese people mind, but really, I'm okay with it. I can ask a Chinese person for you if you like; let me know.) Vegetarian anything always piques my interest. A pizza place next door to the Cambodian restaurant Phnom Penh...well, I had to see what the deal was. And that's when it happened. One of the awesome owners was working, and being the shy people we are, we start asking a lot of questions. And the haze lifted for me; I was a fan of theirs 15 years ago! And it was my first time HERE upon their re-opening as a vegetarian place! I hung my head in shame and considered hara-kiri. The vintage, bright orange couch is from the original lobby of the Seattle Space Needle. The ceiling-to-floor oven is their oven from downtown. The rest of the space is filled with a combination of Seattle history, both Wonder Bread-style and local Asian-style. The pizza is great; creative flavors still like Wasabi Pineapple, potato pizza--very good. The wild mushroom one was seasoned perfectly. I can't place my finger on what genre of pizza World falls under, but it doesn't even matter. I like it for what it is: 2 slices, 1 Aranciata, and 1 cookie set me back $11 plus tip. My only wish is that the pizza oven re-heated the slices just a little hotter. Sit in one of their little booths, or the Space Needle couch, have a fresh-baked cookie, enjoy. I finally got to try World Pizza after bookmarking it forever and ever ago. I like to eat at places that give plenty of options for vegetarians, so of course this made my list of vegetarian friendly eats. As you walk in, you're greeted by friendly faces eager to feed you pizza and delicious smells. Coming here to try the pepperoni specifically, we ordered a whole pie with pepperoni. We sat down and about 25 minutes later, the gigantic pizza was brought to our table! It smelled sooosooo good, I couldn't wait to dig in. The crust is thin and airy, tomato sauce is packed with tons of flavor and seasoned perfectly. The "pepperoni" wasn't what I was expecting. I've never had real pepperoni so I guess I can't compare it. I did enjoy it for what it was though. The texture and flavor were great! The ingredients here are fresh and some of the best around. Adding chili sprinkles (as Lily S says) and black pepper make this pizza unexpectedly spicy. You wouldn't think black pepper would have that effect, but it does and I'm glad. I was full after one slice but ate two. Even though they are not a vegan restaurant, if you call in advance they will make a couple slices especially for you. This place is cozy and quaint. Pizza in the heart of Chinatown? Yes. Many white people flock over here because World Pizza make very delicious vegetarian pizza and beer on tap surrounded by the Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, and other asian restaurants. I'm not white, but they have made me a fan. My weakness is potatoe pizza and World Pizza makes them! The toppings are very creative like peaches and gorgonzola or mushrooms, olives and feta cheese. The crust has a very different texture which is a cross between thin crust and toss crust. The tomato sauce goes well with most pizza but certain toppings it can be too salty. The space is small but it is comfortable with orange lounge seats in front and table seating are in the back left corner. Also, many condiments to put on your slice of pizza. You can buy it by the slice or wait to buy a whole pizza. I normally buy about four slices and it runs me $13.20 if I do not get any beer. I do like that the staff is very friendly and puts your slices back in the oven to heat it up to you. Great change a pace addition to the ID because I do love my Pizza Pizza!!! What a cool vibe World Pizza's got going on! Hidden between a bunch of Chinese restaurants and karate dojos in the International District (like literally, hidden - I'm pretty sure if they did not prop their sign in the middle of the sidewalk, I would have walked right past them. I probably have a couple of times already!), this pizza joint is the epitome of a hip Seattle store front. There isn't a whole lot of room for sitting here, but there are a few booths, and a few seats by the window. What I really enjoyed about this place was just how much character was in the store - I've gotten so used to my office life and pristine coffee shops that I forget sometimes how much character a building can bring, and I think this place definitely reminded me of that. I stopped in for a quick lunch today and bought just a single slice of pizza, but you can buy a whole pie if you wanted to as well. What I really enjoyed about their pizza selection is that it was all vegetarian - there were two pizzas topped with what looked like pepperoni, but turned out to be field roast. The others included an onion, basil and feta pizza, a potato (!!) topped pizza, and what I ended up getting - a jalapeno and pineapple pizza. What a unique combination of flavors!! And I loved it! The sweet pineapple worked wonderfully with the little kick from the jalapeno - what a delightful surprise! I've a few friends who are vegetarians as well, so I love knowing that I can send them over to World Pizza and they'd have a variety of options, not just a single veggie pizza option. These pizzas' crusts are on the thinner side, so don't be expecting a ton of toppings - however, I enjoyed how crisp the crust was, and was able to gobble up every last bite because of this. They also had a Greek salad which I ordered a half-size of. It was okay, but not one of my faves. If they were to step up their shop a bit, it'd be to add more salads to balance out the meals, but honestly - I'd be perfectly happy if these guys stuck it with what they do best. I live in California, this is some of the best in Seattle! Vegetarian, fresh, and handmade. They have the traditional styles but also offer unique combinations for those daring to venture out. Walking by you wouldn't realize it's a pizza spot since it's located in the International District so don't be sketched out! When you order you go up to the counter to see their selections. Once you have made your mind you let the worker know your choices and they take the slice(s) and heat then right up for you. I've tried the "pepperoni/Pineapple and of course, the potato/Gorgonzola. Flavor is just next level. The combination seems odd, but it is just so perfect. I am craving this pizza so bad as I type this, I want to be in Seattle so I could eat this everyday!! I almost always have meat on the pizzas I order.... Pepperoni, sausage,and olive is my favorite. But, at World Pizza, I didn't even miss the meat. Their pizza is so tasty, and the ingredients used are chosen to emulate the mouthfeel that most of us crave from a good piece of pie. I had the potato and blue cheese.....mmmm....blue cheese! I came with friends and we tried their "famous" roasted red potato, garlic, rosemary, and Gorgonzola cheese pizza. It was ok. The crust was thin and crispy, which is not what I prefer, but it tasted fine. I appreciated the fact that rosemary that was incorporated into the crust - it made the crust taste better. The sauce was good - it didn't taste like typical sauce-out-of-a-can tomato sauce, rather, it had good flavoring. The toppings sounded like they would go well together, but I felt like it was only OK. The potatoes didn't add any flavor to the pizza, it seemed almost like filler material. The rosemary and garlic came through pretty well, but the pizza would have benefited with more cheese. We decided to eat in the restaurant, and on a hot July day, it probably wasn't the best idea. After all, it's a pizza shop and they only had a floor fan, so it got pretty warm. Add to that the fact that we had to wait 30+ minutes for our pizza to get made, and... I was sweating before the pizza even came out. There also isn't much seating in the restaurant. The service was nice, though - they were accommodating, understanding, and helpful. It's an interesting place to get some pizza - it wouldn't be my top choice, but since pizza options in the International District are limited, it's not a terrible option if you find yourself, for some reason, in the ID with a pizza craving. read more

3.5 Stars.. World pizza seemed a little out of place being in Chinatown..but I suppose it is actually called "international district"..well this is beside the point. I was REALLY craving pizza , so my fiancé suggested that we try this place out. He did mention that World Pizza only serves vegetarian pizzas, but that didn't matter to me. The pizzas were good! Perhaps because the pizzas were still pretty fresh, but they refreshed it for us anyways. The two specialty ones were their potato pizza and their "dragon" pizza, then they had a pepper one and a plain cheese one. I must admit that the thing that is lacking isn't the taste, but the underwhelming number of selection. I mean I have been to the fancy "Cheeseboard" in SF, in which they only sell ONE pizza the whole day (also only vegetarian), but they do it well. If World Pizza wants to have only 4 options, then I recommend that they change their options daily. Seems like the potato pizza has been on their menu for far too long...time to try something new! They didn't try it but they grabbed a menu and showed it to me. I told them that I was actually on my way to try it out. I also told them I would give them my report when I got back to work. I'd been told for years about World Pizza and how great their slices are. With this much build up, I did my best to temper my expectations before heading in and decided to try a slice of cheese (boring, I know) to get an idea for how they do the basics. Great pizza comes down to 2 things (cheese can be a wildcard): Crust -- should have a good bite and a good chew, not too crunchy nor excessively chewy and it needs to have that hint of yeast Sauce -- needs to have a bright tomato flavor and the proper amount of oregano to bring out that quintessential pizza flavor This slice didn't knock either of these out of the park. The crust was crunchy without chew, lacked yeast, and had an oddly sweet flavor. I'm thinking they used honey in their dough. The sauce was... meh. I couldn't taste oregano at all, there was far too much sauce, and overall, it tasted old/frozen/lifeless. It wasn't awful by any means, but it just wasn't interesting. Overall, the pizza reminded me of the frozen pizzas you have as a kid. It's serviceable, but it's not good. If I was in the neighborhood and wanted a slice, I'd go there, but I definitely wouldn't seek out this pizza. I should mention, that I understand the draw for this place is their vegetarian options and their funky toppings. That's cool. I had a bite of the potato pizza, it wasn't spectacular either. If you're hunting for a slightly askew pizza joint - then World Pizza may be up your alley. I happen to think they need to figure out the basics first. We were originally going somewhere else in Chinatown but the place was so busy that we decided to look elsewhere. I had mentioned earlier that I was craving pizza and this was was near where we were so we decided to give it a shot. I grew up in the greater NYC area so I'm a little pretentious about my pizza but for being on the other side of the country this place was quite good. The crust was nice and thin which is how I prefer it. It was more flaky than doughy which is less my preference but not necessarily a bad thing. My biggest complaint was that the outer crust was not big. I don't think they rolled it over at all which would have been better. The sauce was good, in good proportion and had good flavor but it was a little too sweet in my opinion. I also which that had more options for their slices, they only had a couple when we went. However if this allows them to better focus on quality than I can't fault them too much for limiting their options. I love this place. It's in a random place here in Chinatown and I was surprised we even had a pizza shop so close by in the International District. It's actually one of my favorite places to go to for pizza during lunch and other occasions. It's vegetarian, but you can't even tell. The whole pizza is just baked to perfection. On our recent trip to Seattle we found ourselves sitting at our Airbnb looking for some good old pizza, as we were staying in the ID there wasn't a lot of variety. Insert World Pizza. We walked down and almost missed the place as there wasn't a huge sign marking the business! We went in and it had a very antique, vintage, old-school feel. I wasn't crazy about my pizza but it grew on me the more I ate. My boyfriend on the other hand loved his pepperoni and jalapeno combination. We grabbed ourselves a cookie for dessert and man was it wonderful! It was huge for the price, a great deal if I do say so myself. The staff was next to none, they were super attentive to us when we walked in and were super helpful to give us recommendations on the pizza. When returning to grab the cookie they even offered to warm it up and bring it out to us. Top notch! The seating is limited but I kind of enjoyed that experience, we sat in a booth along the side of the kitchen and felt tucked away from the outside hustle and bustle. Walked by this place on my way to Kau Kau barbecue and it smelled so good, I walked in. They had a nice selection of pizza slices, so ordered the roasted red potato pizza. I thought it was great. For me, a vegetable pizza can be delicious, but unsubstantial. You have to eat quite a bit until you get full. This pizza fills you up. I had one slice, ate and wanted more. But I was full. Here we go, my very first yelp review for World's Pizza (woohoo): I found this place because I work close by. It locates in International District and walking distance from lots of buses. I usually get their potato Pizza but today I decided to try something new(I'm glad that I did!). So I got wasabi pineapple Pizza and pesto cheese pizza. I'm a pesto lover so I know I wouldn't have problem loving my pesto Pizza but I was a bit skeptical about the wasabi pineapple. But oh my gosh, it's really good! You can taste the sweetness and spiciness from wasabi but ALSO the sourness and sweetness from the pineapple. With the marinara sauce and crispy think crust (oh yes, all their pizzas are think crust), it is perfect! I have never thought about the flavors like these would work out but they really taste great! Breakdown: Crust - thin but substantial, well flavored on its own. It was more dense than a typical Neapolitan crust, but it worked out pretty well. Sauce - bold and tomato-ey with some spice. Cheese - standard fare, maybe a little extra greasy. If you pat down slices to absorb the oils, expect to use ~ 1 napkin/slice Size of the slice - I think 2 slices would be very satisfying. One slice could do, maybe paired with salad or a drink Topping - "Field roast" pepperoni & pineapple - yum! Just like Hawaiian pizza, but a little extra salty since it was "pepperoni" instead of ham. I had the portabella mushroom, my partner had the field roast, and my son had the potato. It was all very good and we'll go back again. Great pepperoni. The rest was gimmicky. I tried 4 different slices from this place to get a nice mix of what they offer. Btw, you can order slices via UberEats to mix up your pizza. That was pretty great. I got a cheese, pepperoni, roasted potato, and some veggie pizza (it was the "variety" pizza). In order of best to worst, they were: Pepperoni, Roasted Potato, Cheese, Veggie Pepperoni: Fantastic. The pepperonis were extremely unique. I haven't ever had a pepperoni that tasted quite like they did. It's like they were using a different kind of meat altogether. This place is vegetarian and it got me wondering if it was a vegan meat. I can't say for sure, but it was tasty regardless. It was a hearty, earthy flavor with a hint of spice rather than the super savory/spicy flavor of a traditional pepperoni. The cheese pizza underneath it all was much better with pepperoni on it. It realllllly needed that extra kick. I don't care much for their cheese, which I'll get to in a moment. Roasted Potato: This was an interesting pizza. I discovered I love potato on pizza not too long ago and this reinforced that notion. It was delicious, but a tad gimmicky. This is a bit of a running theme of this place. I don't like that their pizzas taste ULTRA spiced. It doesn't come out quite as heavily on the pepperoni, which is why I really liked that one, but the rest it did, to varying degrees. It makes it hard to enjoy the various toppings when the pizza itself is blasting you in the face with herbs and spices. It was just too salty/sweet for my liking. Pizza shouldn't be that sweet. Cheese: It was difficult to say if this or the veggie was worse, but the veggie edged it out just barely. I don't like the cheese pizza for the above reason: the spices do not taste good on their own. It's an overwhelming amount of flavor, like a white sauce pasta dish that someone dumped a whole lot of italian seasoning onto. So when you don't have any other toppings to take some of the spice flavor away, you just get this ridiculously powerful spice flavor that shouldn't be happening on a cheese pizza. Veggie: This barely edged out cheese for my least favorite because the sweetness from the veggies they used stacked on the heavy spices gave it this sweet earthy flavor that I just couldn't get passed. I ate a couple bites and set it down. It's not bad tasting, but it was so much "less good" than the others that I didn't want to waste my stomach space on it. That said, I also very much dislike veggie heavy pizzas in general. If you want to eat healthy, pizza is not the dish for you. I appreciate how unique World Pizza's spices make their flavor profile. It's unlike any pizza I've had in Seattle. It just isn't my cup of tea. It's worth a try if you're a pizza connoisseur or looking for something different, but it's hard to recommend this place as a repeat spot for getting your pizza fix. It just doesn't taste enough like real pizza. The pepperoni is the only real winner here, in my opinion. If I want a healthier kind of pizza, I will go to the far superior Humble Pie. #1 reason to try this place. The cooks experiment with flavors all the time and come up with really creative and really tasty ideas. I feel like I'll never run out of new tasty experiences from them. I loved this place BEFORE I tasted how awesome their pizza is. I got the gorgonzola potato pizza and it is off the hook! The people working here are awesome and clearly love their work. Great pizza and great staff! ! Loved the roasted red pepper and basil-Dragon pizza. We also had one with sausage and mushroom. Worth the money and filling! The guys working in there are polite, considerate and totally chill. The only negative, which Just as an aside, I didn't consider with the star rating is location. If you go at night, this area in Chinatown is sketchy. Many homeless/drug-seekers looking for money. read more

I keep hoping to find good pizza in Seattle comparable to the east coast but continue to get disappointed. Unfortunately, World Pizza is not good. First off, a slice is over $3 for a quite small piece. There is way too much sauce and grease and not enough cheese. The sauce has no flavor or seasoning in it. I have had sauce from a can with more flavor. I got a slice of plain cheese and the signature potato Gorgonzola. I was hoping the signature slice would have more flavor from the Gorgonzola and roasted potatoes but it did not add much. The crust was decent but didn't hold up well with all the sauce and grease. Still on the search for decent pizza in the PNW. read more

So freaking good! So slightly sacrilegious that I went to Chinatown to get pizza by the slice but whatever. My cravings have no rhyme or reason. I was so pleasantly surprised by a vegetarian pizza spot that also serves vegan pizza. I'm a huge carnivore so needless to say I was uninterested in the vegan option, already getting vegetarian pizza. I got the a slice of classic cheese pizza and a slice of pesto mushroom. Lots of cheese but still really crispy crust which was great. Would've gotten 5 stars but there was a hair imbedded in one of the slices. I just picked it out and kept eating. As former regional chair of the National Cattelman's Association, I was wary at first of their non meat selections. Upon investigation and ingestion I found their "fauxperoni" and imposter meat selections to be quite satisfying. The staff is wonderul: helpful, courteous, smart, and funny. This, my friends, is my new favorite pizza. It's not too thin and not to thick, but Pizzalocks likes, is just right. In the middle of the International District, you got this place that is delightfully tasty. Field roast pepperoni and pineapple, plain cheese, potato Rosemary blue cheese--- youbget the idea. Grab a beer and a chewy chocolate chip cookie and you're on to your next adventure in the neighborhood. Or in my case, back to the office a block away. They got the cool goods here. read more
