World pizza has quite the unique spread of pizza available by the slice or by the pie. I got their roasted potato pizza which also has rosemary and garlic on it which was delightful. The potato was soft and rosemary was the primary flavor. Crust is on the softer side so if crunchy is your preference, like me, note that. The worker kindly explained all the pizzas to me since this was my first time in and it seems they have great vegetarian selections. With no way to know it's vegetarian pizza joint either outside or inside it seems a bit deceiving. The only clue you may get is that all the premade pizzas for selling by the slice are vegetarian. I did not realize this and asked if they had pepperoni, they said yes and put some on a cheese for me. I left and looked at it and wondered what the heck type of pepperoni this was, but figured it as a artsy fartsy type of pepperoni to seem hip and cool. So I gave it a try, it had absolutely no flavor. The only reason I knew I was eating one of the pepperoni is that it had a different texture. Overall, this was terrible. The only worse pizza I've ever had was 7-11's. The sauce tasted like a mixture of tomato paste and ketchup. The pepperoni was flavorless. Always on the hunt to expand my pizza options and scrolling through DoorDash one night, I discovered World Pizza. Pizza really tastes like it was homemade. So much so that it reminded me of making midnight pizzas with an old roommate. If you like your pizzas saucy, World Pizza is for you. If you're not, approach with caution because they are very generous with the sauce. I've only ordered online, but if you order in person it's worth asking if they could do a light sauce. To me, the crust is the star. Soft but plentiful, and a great way to scoop up any of that extra sauce from the slices. Price wise World Pizza maches what you'll find in Seattle, all pies are 16" but can range between $23.99 (cheese and the base rate for their 'create your own') to $28.99 (can go higher if you chooose additional toppings). Each pizza box seems to come with a custom hand drawing. World Pizza has become a favorite, but I have to take a star away because their hours can be pretty irregular (not counting the holidays), which can make it hard if you're spontaneously craving pizza. read more

Pizza has a nice sturdy crust , to hold up to to vegetable offerings on the pizza. OoooooooooOrdered all of these, plus the amazing Greek salad. Fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, Italian parsley, pepperoncini, red onions, kalamata olives tossed in house lemon and olive oil dressing. Pizza is made to order and definitely gives a homemade spin. I was exploring the International District/Chinatown and stumbled upon World Pizza and what a wonderful find it was! I was drawn in by an enticing aroma and knew I had to get a slice to try, even though pizza was definitely not what I had planned on having for lunch. I wasn't sure what to get, as they have several options available to get by the slice (all of which looked delicious). Well, in the process of deciding I got to have a great conversation with the owners, Aaron and Wren, two of the most fantastic people I met while I was in Seattle. They have both a passion for their food, local food, and their community, which really makes this a standout establishment that everyone should visit. Also, because I finally settled on Wren's recommendation of the potato pizza with some of their house made habanero sauce (very spicy, the way I like it!) and it was absolutely phenomenal. Cheesy, flavorful, a superb slice even without the hot sauce. While you can easily get yourself a whole pizza or some slices to go (all vegetarian by the way), they also have a fair amount of seating inside if you would like to enjoy the warm and friendly space for a little longer. read more

I've always walked by World Pizza when walking around the Chinatown-International District, but I never had an urge to pop in for pizza until a food walk to me here, fortunately. My friend recommended we try World Pizza during the event, and I'm glad I listened to her. We visited World Pizza on our food walk where there was a special on their peach pizza. When we visited, we saw that they weren't allowing dine-in at the time nor do they have outdoor seating. But the thing about getting a slice of pizza is that it's easy to take on the go. After I ordered a slice of their peach pizza, they heated it up for me and it was solid. I don't normally like sweet-savory foods, but the peach with the bleu cheese on the pizza worked well together, so I was a fan of the slice. It's not a pizza I would normally order, so I'm glad they offered this as a food walk special, otherwise, I'm not sure I would've tried it. Ehhh. I don't know if it's because I stopped in for a late night bite, or what, but I definitely wasn't that impressed with this place. I feel like the pies here felt akin to something similar to cafeteria slices that schoolchildren get - something thin and tasteless, hard and chewy, something that's been sitting under a lamp for 8 hours. This pizza joint is located in chinatown; but has no chinese or asian influence in flavors or even decor from what I could see. The walls are painted a striking overwhelming red, and dotted with strange abstract paintings that I didn't really care for - it's definitely a look though. The inside itself was sticky and gross. There was a cart near the back filled with dirty dishes that didn't look like it had been emptied in a while. Been trying to cut back on the carbs, and decided to cheat for a slice of pizza while we were walking through the International District. It's a fairly small pizza place that offers pizza by the slice and went with a tried and true topping of pepperoni. We were promptly greeted and service was friendly when we ordered. Now onto the pizza , possibly because it was towards the end of the night, but as much as I was craving pizza this didn't hit the spot. Though they did heat up the slice, it wasn't heated up enough. The crust a bit too hard and cheese not melted enough. The pepperoni had a nice lil kick to it, but with everything else lacking it couldn't save the pizza. I've been passing World Pizza for years in the ID and funnily enough, stopped in during the ID Night Market. It's a cute, cozy restaurant with a little eating nook in the back and a couch up front (where we ate). The owners were super friendly and chatted with us while we ate (before the rush came in). I got a slice of the mushroom pizza and it was good. I can't handle any spice but I loved their homemade habanero sauce. I noticed they had a Greek salad that I want to try. Sometimes I forget that you can get pretty delicious pizza right in Chinatown. A bit of an odd ball to find a local small pizza parlor nudged within the historic neighborhood, but I do really enjoy their pizza and it's pretty damn affordable! Space is small and quaint, with minimal seating around the front, you step into World Pizza and order right at the counter. You could purchase by slice or order a whole pizza. Slices are a couple bucks and are reheated as you order. Occasionally they will come fresh from the oven, during a busier rush. You can add pepper flakes and parmesan cheese at the counter yourself - very much a grab n go style. My personal favorites are the margherita pizza and potato pizza. A great lunch option for those of you who have a tight packed schedule and want a filling meal! read more

A pizza place in the I-District? And it is vegetarian? I admit that I never thought that a pizza place in the ID was even a possibility. There is not much of a gwailo business presence in this area aside from banks. It is a bit ironic that it is called the International District, even though it is composed primarily of Asian businesses. For better or for worse, World Pizza stands as a test case on whether a restaurant with a non-Asian cuisine concept could work in the ID. And I am hoping it does because the pizza here is worthwhile. I came here recently as I read on their Facebook business page that they have a happy hour from 3 to 6 daily in which slices are $2 and several drinks are $1 off which seemed like the perfect time to give this place a shot. It is a small place. The front has a cozy couch setup, while there are 4 wooden booths in the back to chow down your pizza. What I like about the setup here is that they offer pizza in slice form, rather than having to buy these whole (though you can) like most places. Think of this like an I-District version of Hot Mama's on Capitol Hill. I don't think the whole pizza option would work very well given that the area is known for food at reasonable prices and does not have much of a resident population. There were several pizza choices here to choose from, not just a few. As I mentioned at the start of the review, all of the pizzas are vegetarian. Though not vegan. Got to have real cheese! I got two slices. A mushroom & garlic and a veggie sausage pizza ($2 each HH) plus a can of Rainier beer ($1.50 HH) which rings up just slightly north of $6. Amazing deal! The slices are large. One might be enough to satisfy your appetite. Two slices and a beer for me was a dinner in itself. I have to say both slices were top notch. The crust here is a standout. The mushroom & garlic was delicious and the veggie sausage (Field Roast) pizza wowed as it had a good peppery kick to it. Also, I like that the pizza was not too oily. Usually oily restaurant food causes me to get a sore/itchy throat afterwards. Not here. All in all, I am liking World Pizza. Though I have a couple suggestions One is to try experimenting with Asian ingredients in their pizzas. And it sounds like they have taken that to heart from a Seattle Weekly website article I read. Interested to see what they can do with Chinese eggplant and Chinese broccoli! Though perhaps baby bok choy could work too as well. The other suggestion I have being that late night hours on the weekends could be good since many places in the ID already stay open late. Pizza is as good comfort food as Chinese. Plus the location is close to CenturyLink and Safeco, so this could be feasible. Definitely rooting for World Pizza. I salute them for taking a leap of faith with the location. My wife and I get a pie here regularly for our Friday or Saturday nights, and it always hits our craving. They also have a great Greek salad and chocolate chip cookies. Its a cute restaurant is in the International District so, if its not Asian food that you are craving and you happen to be in the area, I recommend this quaint pizza joint. There is super friendly staff. The slice was great! It was so cheesy and it had a nice, crispy bottom crust. I think I got a rosemary/potato/bleu slice. It wasn't oily and the wonderful combination on my pizza was a delight. I tried out their Greek salad.. And maybe I shouldn't have since I'm not much of an olive and onion fan. (It was jam packed with them.) I also tried out their gianormous cookie which they offered to heat up. I really like the crispiness that the oven gives to the restaurants food. I didnt even know this was a vegetarian spot.....I was just trying to get a couple of slices. Came by in the afternoon and it wasnt too busy, staff is super friendly upon entering, helpful in explaining the pizzas they have available, helpful in telling me what pizzas are coming out from the oven if I wanted to wait a few minutes. Nice to chat with as well. So I got a slice of cheese and a slice of the "fancy" pizza with roasted red peppers & their homemade pesto. They only call it "fancy' because that is the button they push on the cash register. Funny. Both slices were pretty tasty! The cheese one.....well, it was pretty much a standard cheese pizza slice. The roasted red pepper & pesto was delicious, nice amount of peppers and pesto was flavorful. Crust is different, I think it was a wheat crust? I dont know what it exactly was but it wasnt the typical kind. It was good and I totally ate it up! A little greasy but what do you really expect, I like my pizza a little greasy. Fold it and you are good to go!!! Whenever you are in ID and you dont want them chicken feets, stop by here for a slice. With this place being vegetarian, I didnt miss the meat on my pizza. Yelp reviewers (especially ones from Seattle and Bellevue) are always right! This place was great. It was this small place that looks nothing like a pizza joint. From outside, it just looked like another chinese restaurant (cuz this place is literally surrounded by Chinese and other Asian restaurants. Once you enter, you will be greeted by a couple of guys. Both super cool and laid back. They are your pizza maker, cashier, and server. I went around 10:30 ish (a bit early) and they only had 3 different pizzas available by the slice. I got two out of the three. First pizza I tried was their cheese pie with some fake meat on it. It was a bit salty but yummy. Second pizza was roasted potatoes, which was my favorite of the two. By the time I was done, I noticed they had 3 or 4 more pizzas available. I was already really really full, but when I saw the wasabi, roasted bell pepper, and pineapple pizza, I had to give it a try. I am glad I did because it was definitely my fav of the three. Sweet, Savory, and spicy - all really worked well. I thought their dough was very unique. It tasted more like biscuit than pizza dough. Unique texture and flavor. Their sauce also had some... spice to it too. Recommended for sure! I used cash today, so I am not sure if they accept credit cards. 4.5 stars Pretty standard pizza by the slice place smack dab in the middle of Chinatown. Unusual as that may seem the pizza is pretty tasty and the two people inside were friendly. We only got 2 slices of cheese and a slice of cheese and pepperoni. Thrown back into the oven to reheat from sitting out on display the bits that were much more crispy than the rest were my fave. I was excited about this pizza joint...service was friendly and I wish my experience was better. The pizza was greasy and over sauced. So over sauced in fact that my pizza was heavy and hard to eat. The crust was good, my favorite part. I ordered the field roast slice and didn't like the field roast, so I picked it all off and gave it to my girlfriend. There were only about 5 pieces, so for a price increase (maybe a buck more than the cheese) it's not worth it. Girlfriend got the cheese and liked it fine, said if she was in the mood for that kind of pizza, she'd come back. My grip with this place is that it is dirty. We were curious/happy to find this vegetarian/vegan pizza joint and went for the first time. It's definitely a dive and you can feel the cool vibes in the nostalgic old building. I am a SUPER PIZZA SNOB because I'm from NJ and know what pizza is supposed to taste like! World Pizza got pretty high marks from me on the cheese/sauce front, but the hard crust was not pleasant. Pizza should have a chewy texture and this one was so cracker-like, that folding the pizza (the ONLY way to eat it) was not easy at all. On a recent weeknight, I stumbled in to World Pizza for a slice of pizza. I had missed happy hour, and the staff asked me if I'd like to order a whole pizza. I inquired if I could purchase just a slice, and the staff said "of course" and kindly described each of the offerings. There was a red pepper, onion, olive, a rosemary garlic potato, and a chipotle field roast available by the slice. I opted for the latter, and enjoyed the soft, chewy crust with gooey cheese and thinly sliced field roast. World Pizza's offerings are vegetarian-friendly, but meat lovers would delight in the flavorful options available by the slice and by the whole pie. They no longer offer espresso-based beverages, but the staff were kind enough to recommend Eastern Cafe, a block and a half over. I walked in and they had pizzas coming out of the oven ready to go. I got two slices for under 8 dollars and they were big. Ended up giving one to a friend cause I couldn't possibly eat two.
