The pesto chicken pizza was the highlight of the day! The goat cheese complemented the flavors so well! We loved the capriciosa as well. The peach cobbler for dessert was also great. The service was a little slow, the waiters would disappear for a while and wouldn't come back until we called them over. Otherwise they super nice and accommodating. Nice dimly lit pizzeria serving Neapolitan style pizza, salads, and spirits. Fun experience in a fully packed restaurant + bar area. Mixed drinks were great and Food was good but nothing food wise stood out or made us go "yum!" We tried the veal meatballs (not a ton of flavor), green salad (could use more dressing), and margarita DOC pizza (would have liked this with a bit more char on the crust and more flavor in the dough). I'd try it again sometime in the future. I'd probably get more toppings on the pizza to have more flavor and skip the two apps we had. read more

We were told "we don't understand Neapolitan Pizzas" ... sorry ~ we've attended the Pizza Festival in Naples, Italy. The dough was incorrect, wet and rubbery in the middle. Gluten Free Chicken and Garlic pizza was delicious. I went to Pizzeria 22 because I have a coupon. Will come back for more. Ambiance was amazing. Waitress was excellent! The owners took pride in the interior. Felt like I was in an authentic Italian restaurant in Italy. I was told the owner went to Naples and the decor is based off of that. Worth every penny! My wife and I went to Pizzeria 22 for New Years Eve and it was spectacular again. It had been too long since we have picked up or dined here, and we need to change that in 2024. We started with two excellent cocktails from the beverage menu, and the server, Carlos then recommended the Chianti for myself, and my wife had the Lucille IPA. All were very refreshing and enjoyable. She had the Insalata 22 and I had the Caesar Salad to start the food menu. Both were good portions and we each had left overs. Then the main event...my wife had the Margherita 22, and I had the Al Pepperoni. Both were incredible. They provide a scissors for each pizza as they do not pre-cut it. Then of course, we had to order the Wood Fired S'mores. Oh my...these are the worth just making the trip to Pizzeria 22. The server Carlos was so friendly and answered all the questions we had. Nasty pizza. Crust wasn't cooked,I had to tear my own prosciutto just to eat the pizza and the pizza was bland.

Major Tip: be sure to request "light sauce" when ordering a pizza. If not doing this, it's likely the crust will be mushy & flabby. And this is based on experiences from dining-in, enjoying the pie straight from the oven. As a take-away pizza, I imagine it would be very soupy when eating later at home. Their sauce is a on the watery size, they add a large splash of olive oil prior to baking and dough structure not very strong. Ok, with this out of the way, they make a nice wood-fired Napoletana inspired pizza. Cheese and topping are top quality. They just need to manage the moisture better. read more

OMG Claire made my day. I have not found a BOMB pizza spot in a while and I have to say I will be back weekly after that experience. They are rocking it in there, Juan was making the food and he was on point, ready to go. The whole team was doing their thing and this is why everything was perfect. I got a few bottles to spot, why not hello half off. I was able to sample a few, which was nice, i got some random ones to try as the sun is out and HH (happy hour) on my patio with my "bubble of quarentine friends" is coming back to life. They even have seating in the front with covered tents, it was perfect. I will be back (maybe tomorrow). Super excited. OH yeah the beet salad was sooooo good with the nuts the cheese and raspberry dressing you guys sooo good. You have to come check it out. YESSSS this is the pizza spot. Delicious Neapolitan pizzas here. I had the inferno pie. Crust was excellent, perfect amount of charring on the bottom, toppings were delicious. Their salads are also very tasty. Local to this restaurant and have ordered takeout on occasion with no problems. Family was visiting so I made reservations for a family dinner for 7. The restaurant wasn't busy, but it took OVER TWO HOURS to get our 4 pizzas (after slow appetizers). Even a table or two was seated after us, ate, and left before we got dinner. My 81 year old father took the bill and only after a close look did we see that a salad we had never gotten was still on it, as was the gratuity (and nothing was comped, which is lame but ok). I understand that gratuity is often included for parties of 6 or more, but a head's up would have been courteous. The salad came off the bill, but negotiating the gratuity required "a phone call to the owner". Maybe they were super busy with take out orders. All places have a bad night, I get that. But the total unwillingness to make anything right was truly surprising and pretty unforgivable. It all just seemed so shady and gross at the end. Fantastic pizza place in West Seattle! Wonderful accommodating staff! Pizza is great, cal-zone are even better and they have large pours for mixed drinks. The pizza has a great burnt crust that has great texture and kind a reminds me a bit of naan bread. They have some spicy oil that you can have to drizzle on the pizza that provides a good hit of spicy when mixed with the red pepper flakes. Inside seating can be a bit cramped when the bar stools are occupied as leaves little space between bar and wall seating. I couldn't imagine all the bar stools & wall seating filled to capacity as it would appear like a Boeing 737. Overall, Pizza 22 is a gem of a pizza place and one of the Top 3 I've been to in Seattle. We will definitely be back and become regulars as long as my stomach girth can take it. read more

Because Pizzeria 22 came highly recommended and was even referred to as the best pizza in the city, we all were very excited to try it. We were a party of six and our experience was a mixed bag at best. If our review was based solely on me and my husband, it would have been 2 stars; if based on our four guests, then 4 stars - a 3 star average seemed fair. Both my husband and I got gluten free pizza crust which was awful...truly. I'm sure some of you out there are thinking to yourselves, "It was gluten-free. What did you expect?" But we've tried A LOT of GF pizza and it can be WAY better than this. It can even be great! This was bad enough that I ended up eating the toppings and leaving the crust. But even the toppings (Primavera for me, Bianca with sausage for him) were meh. Uninspired and less than the sum of their parts. The four others got the Tonno (tuna) and Margherita 22 pizzas on regular crusts plus two calzones, the Pesto Pollo and the Ventidue. The Tonno and calzones were very much enjoyed. The Margherita was fine but nothing special. The table got an Insalata 22 and a Roasted Beet Salad - both quite good but too expensive for the portion. The alcoholic beverages were fine but overpriced in my experience. The house red wine - both in quality and pour - isn't worth $10. All in all, a solid 3 stars. Tried this on a whim after having cocktails around the corner. The place was nearly dead empty so I was a little worried. But it was later than the regular dinner hour and there may have been other things going on in the neighborhood. Had the olive tapenade with flat bread (bare pizza crust.) It was good but a little hard to eat. There wasn't really anything binding it together and it was a little chunky. So it just kept falling off the bread. But it was tasty when you could wrangle it into submission. Had the Pizza Bianca (Olive oil, herbed ricotta, olive, basil) with sausage. It was very good! They bring you a bottle of oil and a grinder of pepper flakes. Added a little salt and it was very tasty. Can't wait to go back and try other things. The service was great, very attentive. 5 stars for the fact that you can add an egg to any pizza. A+ concept. In all seriousness, Pizzeria 22 is a great little pizza place hidden in West Seattle. It's fairly priced, and has a pretty large menu with good options for us non-meat eaters. To be honest, the menu is probably my only issue with this place - everything on it looks delicious, but each of the items are a little too similar so it can make it hard to decide on what to order. Our staff here was friendly, and the restaurant itself has a quality 'ma and pop' feel (read: it's not pretentious, and could be either a low-key date place or somewhere to bring the fam). The wine pours are very generous, and you'll enjoy the large portion sizes of pizza, too. I can't wait to convince my friends in West Seattle to grab pizza with me again! read more

A group of 20 came here for our friends birthday and we all left extremely happy with our bellies wonderfully full. I had never heard of Pizzeria 22, but that's also probably because I can count the times I've been to West Seattle on my two hands. The location is sort of hidden on a side street and requires street parking or there is a lot right across the street where you can pay to park ((+++ it's mobile pay to park!)). The restaurant is pretty small and split into two sections. The main entrance leads you right into the bar with some tables and and around the corner is the bigger area with more seating and where we took over for the lovely evening. It was nice that the place wasn't crowded as we were able to walk around and mingle. The drinks were strong! I ordered a Frizzante which I anticipated would be on the lighter side since it was Prosecco with vermouth and Campari. But man was it strong! It was very tasty but I ended up sipping on it throughout the entire evening. Expect heavy pours! Of course this is not a bad thing! Everyone was super thrilled with their pizzas but mine was SPECTACULAR! Order the Quattro Formaggi + Prosciutto - Olive Oil, Fresh Mozzarella, Goat Cheese, Gorgonzola, Grana, Cherry Tomato, Garlic, Fresh Basil & Oregano -$20 YUM!! We came here tonight to eat 11/17/2021. We were seated and then asked to show our vax cards. My wife had gotten a negative test, I am fully vaccinated, I mentioned my wife is a Russian National and she just returned a day ago. The host said she was unsure on the mandate, I explained it was vax card or a negative COVID-19 test. She expressed she didn't know the rules and she went in the back to ask if negative test results are allowed. She came back and told us to leave. We left. My wife looked up the mandate on the county website and sent it to me. I went back in and explained , "you can refuse service to me, but this is the mandate and my wife is within the perimeters." After I told her this the host got agitated and did I was wrong and that they don't go by that mandate. I said, there's no reason to get upset, I simply want you to know that the law states my wife is allowed to legally be here and eat inside. She raised her voice and started shouting, she reached out to grab my arm. I asked her to not reach for my arm and she then told me to leave, I left. But not before stating that she doesn't know my wife's medical history or if she is Immune-compromised or not and that a negative test shows we've taken logical and effective steps to not spread a deadly virus during a global pandemic. I left and we went to talliceros down the street and there was zero harassment at the door when we showed my vax card and my wife's negative test result. I'm a black man and my wife is a Russian National. (For context) And ya can call me Karen all y'all want, the fact of the matter is the host IS KAREN and she know damn well she was wrong and when I came back in and politely showed her the mandate on the king county website she got extremely upset and tried to grab me. read more
