One of my favorite things is the rotating Chef Special--there's always something new and creative to try. They offer both Sicilian-style and thin-crust pies, and the thin crust is my personal favorite. It's crispy, flavorful, and done just right every time. One of my coworkers drove us to this East Coast based pizzeria for lunch on a Tuesday noon around 12:50pm. This is not too far from the Starbucks headquarters and both Lumen Field and T-Mobile Park in the SoDo/Industrial District area, so I can imagine this place getting a ton of foot traffic! This place doesn't open on weekends though, so it's best suited for those who work near the area. Speaking of that, there were a ton of people waiting outside for their orders, and several others taking the limited dine-in seats at a counter facing the kitchen inside. There's a whole row of chair seating just behind said counter where a ton of event papers line the walls. At the front counter are the varieties of pizza, both New York and grandma/Detroit style kinds. Here, you ask for the pizza(s) you want, pay at the front, wait for your slices to be cooked, get them in a takeout box, add any condiments from the front counter, and then either leave the premises or sit down to dine in. Both my coworker and I grabbed a slice of their grandma-style meat lovers pizza and another slice of Detroit-style Hawaiian pizza. While driving back to our workplace, both pizzas remained relatively warm. - The Hawaiian slice is pretty simple; the ham slices are pretty big and sit atop the cheese, and there's an okay amount of pineapple pieces on top. The thin crust is a little crunchy and crispy, and pizza itself held itself together despite me holding it at odd angles so I didn't have to use my other hand to eat too early! For this being Hawaiian, this wasn't too greasy, and both the cheese and tomato sauce had a nice balance of savory between them. - The grandma-style meat lovers pizza has both pepperoni and Italian sausage on top of it, almost covering the whole top. I could've sworn that the cheese was also inside the bread itself, because I was pretty full after downing this one! The edges of this slice were also crispy, which I loved biting on. This slice also isn't overly greasy, and pepperoni usually makes everything so greasy to the point where you see that excess orange oil sitting on top of the cheese. This slice didn't have any of that, and the ratio of cheese to tomato sauce was also perfect! This was a very yummy and also heavy lunch. Cool Pizza spot! I stopped by when I heard that Slice Box has thick crust square pizza by the slice, which isn't always easy to find. I ordered the Pepperoni and it was a pretty large slice for the price. The dough made me think of focaccia bread very airy, tasty, with some crunch. The slice also had plenty of cheese, good sauce, and pepperoni. Also have to shout the quality service I received. Even though it was my first visit, the friendly staff there made me feel welcomed like I was a regular. I will for sure stop by again next time I'm in the area! read more

Crispy crust and perfect balance of toppings. I have not tried their deep dish offerings. It is a go to spot for office lunches and they are normally pretty busy when they open at 11. Went here after volunteering at Backpack Brigade today with my coworkers and got a few slices. They did not have enough slices for 15 people all at once (or at least they ran out of a few of their pies) but that was ok since I think we were all still able to get full. The pizza was pretty decent but nothing crazy for $4 a slice. I ordered the Hawaiian and also the Chicken BBQ and thought they were pretty good. Glad to see that they had a fair amount of vegetarian options for my vegetarian coworkers! Okaaaayyy this place is pretty goooooood. They got a super crispy but flavorful crust. Perfect thickness to fold up. I love the pepperoni bowls that pool up all the flavorful oils. It gets bonus points for an extra crispy crust especially after being reheated in the oven. The MKE Yelper drove down from Bellingham, detoured in Seattle on his way to Portland. I was able to join him for a pizza slice in Seattle's SoDo/Industrial District. Slice Box Pizza is located south of the sports complexes, Lumen Field and TMobile Park, look for the yellow green awning. If you went past Krispy Kreme southbound, you went too far. I was able to get nearby 2 hour street parking. Lots of folks lined up since it was noonish/lunch time, then leaving shortly with takeout boxes. Good sign. No onsite dining, only a few chairs indoors and on the sidewalk. Glancing at the pizza case...nice variety available by the slice, both NY style thin crust and Detroit style. Friendly counter and takeout window staff, busy kitchen crew. The MKE Yelper's prepaid order was ready and kept warm atop an oven. He ordered a whole large pizza. Kept box closed on my car's dashboard until his arrival. Decent, thin crust with tomato sauce, cheese topping with spare basil leaves baked on. Late to this pizza party since the FTR was posted Aug 2016. Better late than never, right? First visit, ate one slice. Not bad. New York but in SODO! With gentlemen working there who are extremely welcoming and friendly. I wasn't craving pizza because I just had a calzone and pasta the day prior. I wasn't even hungry, honestly, but I was already in the area and saw Slice Box as a highly rated spot with comments about New York style pizza! I love New York style pizza, especially the cheap ones in New York, so I wanted to check out our version over here in Seattle. It did not disappoint, a great spot to try New York pizza for the first time, even if it's not exactly the real deal. Little pricey though, basically $5-6 slices. Not the $1 street pizza you'll have in New York, but tastes fantastic. I was not sure what to try, but the Meat Lover's came fresh out the oven as soon as I was ordering so I opted for that and a Sicilian Slice. For the Meat Lover's, the crust was so crisp and crunchy, uniform throughout. Slightly thin and easy to fold in half, I found it similar to pizzas in New York. However, the toppings weren't too impressive as it felt very little (I understand the fear of it falling apart, but I think there could've been more). A good replacement to curb a New York style pizza craving in Seattle! Sicilian Pizza is more of a thick crust style. The dough is fluffy and maybe even sponge-like. Being reheated, it was a bit overcooked and burnt but if it were fresh or slightly less burnt, it would've been amazing. I was initially disappointed about the dough, but the burnt crispiness slowly grew on me. As you can see it's cut into a square typically. The highlights of the Sicilian Pizza were the cheese and pesto. Not sure what cheeses was used here exactly, but they were delicious. If it weren't for me having to catch the light rail, I would have returned and got some more pizza. I only got two slices to try as I wasn't sure what to expect. read more

Have been trying to find a good NYC style slice shop that kicks butt and this was the first time I felt I did. And what's great is they got other styles too like grandma slices which are great. Definitely preferred this over Post Alley and Pagliacci's but I'll admit I've only been to each of these spots once and there's a lot of variables with slices that can change things so I'll have to try them all again to be sure. Slice Box Pizza is my go-to food place before any Seahawks game. They have awesome pizza with very generous portions, and sell either the whole pizza or slices of select pizza's. If you order a slice, they'll put it back in the oven to heat it up then sprinkle some freshly grated parmesan on it. It's a really nice touch and makes even the slices taste great. If I'm hanging out next door at Hooverville, I'll grab a slice of pizza from Slice Box since it's much better than Hooverville's pizza. They do offer a punch-card program if you visit often (which you will once you have the pizza) and they sell beers by the can here as well. The service is also top-notch as the guys running it are always very friendly. The only thing 'issue' I have with Slice Box is that they're not open after 6pm at night or on Sundays. However, I can't fault them for this since no small business wants to work THAT much and the area probably isn't too happening after hours anyways. I also don't live or work near them, so while the hours are tough for me, if I lived or worked in the area I'd go here all the time! read more

This is the first pizza I've had in Seattle since moving here in 2019 that is legitimately good New York style pizza. I grew up in the New York City area and I thought I would never find a place in this town that lived up to my expectations but Slice Box has done it! I got a pepperoni pie and ate it for multiple meals both hot and cold - zero regrets! Cheese and pepperoni are good quality, sauce is the appropriate amount of sweet, and the crust has a great chew and flavor.
