    Fresh banchan!
    Janice Y.

I don't know why we never checked out this place ever, but we regret not coming by sooner! Our family is pretty picky about Korean food because my MIL made the best Korean food ever. Now that she's gone, we were craving some good hanshik and decided we would try this place. They did not disappoint! It was empty because we came late on a weekday evening, so the owner was very present and hospitable. You can tell she puts a lot of care into the food that goes out. The banchan (Korean side dishes) looked super clean and pretty which is a huge plus! Some places, the banchan and especially kimchi looks like a hot mess, but we were pleasantly surprised with the look and taste of all the side dishes. It seems the recipes of the some of the food were passed down from her grandmother, but I may have misunderstood her. Regardless, the food was delicious! We ordered chadol (brisket), daechang, and makchang with add-on steamed egg and soybean soup that my son absolutely loved! This was too much food for us, but we ordered 3 meats so we could grill at the table. All the meats hit the spot and were so yummy! We might come here over our usual spot, Gopchang Story now. Loved that the makchang was marinated in spicy sauce already, just the way we like it. One tip is to grill the meats yourself (if you know how) because it's going to taste so much better if you grill it the right way. The tip is to make the daechang nice and crispy and makchang cooked thoroughly so it has that nice chewy texture to give you jawlines for days (jk forever double chin gang here, but a girl can dream right?!). The restaurant's interior is reminiscent of maybe 80's/90's Korean days with records and vintage posters decorating the wall. I usually like to peek into bathrooms of places to see how clean they are, but I was too busy to check the bathrooms out here. The restaurant itself seemed a bit outdated but well maintained, which shows it's been around and successful for a long time.

Boneless marinated pork ribs being grilled - YUM!!

It was our first time here and it was an AMAZING experience!! Yes, you are first greeted by a robot so that's something unique. But then you are greeted by a human and seated. We went there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't that busy. Yes, the music is a bit loud, but it didn't bother us one bit. If you are sensitive to loud music, this isn't your place to come, but you're going to miss out on some great food and service! We ordered the pork belly and marinated boneless pork ribs and it was just fascinating to watch it be prepared in front of us!! The service was just amazing and everything was explained to us in thorough detail. The side dishes were plentiful! OMG!! You MUST order the AMAZING side of egg since it is so luscious!! Everything was simply amazing!! Can't wait to return!! The robot even returns to collect payment which was hilarious! ;) Sorry, I couldn't post the robot since Yelp only allows 10 pictures per post. :(

    Uber eats image

We ordered Galbi on uber eats, it came with 90% onion and maybe 5 pieces of meat for $30!!!!! We called asking if this was correct and they told us that is just how it is prepared, and the woman was rude, unprofessional, and hung up. IN THE MIDDLE OF US TALKING!!!! If I could give this less than 1 star I would. Mind you, I have never gone out of my way to actually put a bad review on anything.

I had a really good meal here for not much $$. The restaurant was eerily empty when I wandered in on a Wednesday night but my order came out hot, fresh, and with 8 types of Kim chee.

The parking lot is on a busy street, so it's honestly a bit confusing the first time you park here. Coming in, you get greeted by a cute little robot waiter (just for payment), but of course there are still human waiters. The dae chang was just... a bit too fatty for my taste. The shrimp tempura had 3 shrimps, 2 zucchini, and 1 potato. I wouldn't say that is worth it, although the dish was crunchy and warm. The bulgolgi was sweet but the meat was cut up too small. The portions were reasonable, and the side dishes were okay. The cucumber tasted a bit old, however. Overall, for the quality of food and given the current inflation, I'd say it is slightly more expensive than your typical Korean bbq place. You'd probably get more value going to Annandale.

Galbi dolsot bibimbap and steamed egg

If you want authentic Korean food, this is the spot. Food tastes great and the service is spectacular. Surprisingly, it's not super busy so you don't have to wait long for your food. It's tucked away in the corner so it's not super visible from route 50 but it's located right beside Ocean Crab. We got the steamed egg and galbi dolsot bibimbap. I've also gotten their spicy tofu soup and yookgaejang and those were both delicious too!! Ambience wise, you'll notice the crowd is middle aged but that's because you'll truly get the old school Korean recipes here!! The owner is super sweet and friendly. Check them out and tell her you saw Haechung's review!! ;)

The food was really good. Everyone was very attentive and cooked us the best tasting food!! Everything was amazing!!! The place is cute like traditional Korean restaurant and has a robot that comes to help you with your payment i think which is so cool! I would highly recommend anyone go and trying this!!! It was so worth it!!!

Went back to this restaurant with my fiancé last weekend and the food was still good and consistent! We went for dinner this time and it was a bit busier than lunch time. The bulgogi portion is bigger during dinner time but also slightly more expensive (by about $6-8). The Galbitang (short rib noodle soup) was so flavorful and you get a decent amount of meat. We also tried their specialty macarons which they introduced as new dessert options this month. They are larger than your normal $3 macarons. It was about $6 each but it's a very decent size macarons. We got the crème brûlée, rose flavor, and a Korean macaron that's not in the picture. We liked all of them but the Korean one is my favorite! It has mochi inside the macaron and not too sweet. Highly recommend this place and would recommend going at lunch for the lunch price and to avoid the crowd.

I do really like the online menu, where you can see big clear pictures of each dish. Inside the restaurant they do have small paper copies of the menu (without pictures) that you can use to choose your order before entering it on the kiosk. Taste of Korea is strictly self-service. You place your order on the electronic kiosk inside the front door. You also pick up your order from the counter and bus your table as well. Water is self-service too, which is good. I ordered the B5. Sizzling Stone Pot Bibimap. It was pretty good and I especially liked the banchan that came with it. But as I mentioned, the portion size was small (and the amount of beef skimpy), though you do have the option of adding extra ingredients for a price. Some pieces of the meat did have an off-flavor. There was a cup of broth (not miso) that came with the bibimap but it had no flavor. It was like drinking warm water. JP ordered the C6. Korean Style Pork Belly. The pork belly was very good and this dish also came with banchan and broth. We also ordered the Spicy Baby Octopus. It wasn't super spicy but it had a very delicious sauce. But probably more onion than octopus. We also ordered the Chicken Bulgogi, which was excellent. However, these two dishes only came with rice, and not banchan. I doubt we will come back because of the price vs. quantity ratio.
