We were really craving Korean soup and this place was on the list. It's located near the industrial area so I was surprised it was tucked away in a non restaurant area. The ambiance was nothing spectacular. There aren't too many seats, however, food comes fairly quick. The service was great. They refilled water often and were very friendly. We ordered Seolleong Tang for the kids which they really enjoyed. Lots of protein and the soup was flavorful. We ordered the Gamja Tang and Budae Jjigae. The Gamja Tang which had a lot of big bones with lots of meat. The Budae had tons of flavor in the broth. The food here is amazing! While there aren't many things on the menu, everything they made was tasty and made right. I highly recommend this place if you're craving for soup.

The banchan tasted great here. I was obsessed with the kimchi! It was flavorful, not too spicy, and on the fresher side. I ordered the seollangtang with cabbage and although I really enjoyed the broth, I was not impressed by the brisket. It was much too thick, had a smell of old meat, and tasted chewy...like it needed to be cooked many more hours. Unfortunately I would not return, because I was disappointed in the main dish that I ordered. FYI I came with 4 other people, and all of us were not happy with the beef quality.

This place offers authentic Korean food and it was packed when we visited for lunch on a weekend. I had Budae Jjigae which is like a spicy ramen with some sausages, ham, and vegetables. If you are not sure what to get from the menu, I highly recommend this dish. It's like an upgraded version of shin ramen with much more flavor. I would say their menu is relatively small, however, they are more focused on homestyle dishes that are hard to find at majority of other Korean restaurants. It does have a family owned vibe and I liked it. My only concern was that the servers were pretty busy taking orders, cleaning up and they didn't really check the table regularly so that we had to really try and ask to get the water refilled. That said, once we asked, they were very quick and attentive in meeting our needs.

Service is good and it's a nice small authentic Korean restaurant that gives big portions for a reasonable price. It does get a bit busy at times since it's small so I recommend going at an earlier time. They give a lot of meat for their gamja tang where they even give you a plate to place the meat. I LOVE their nakji dolsot! It has good flavor and they give soo much octopus! The octopus is not too hard and has a nice chew.

I used to come here often with my family as a kid. I've tried many of their dishes including the bulgogi bibimbap, soondae bokkeum, and seollungtang. For the gamjatang, it was a very large portion with quality meat that slid off the bone. The broth on a cold winter day was perfect. I love that I can get a home-cooked Korean meal at this restaurant. I also love their side dishes and will go through several refills. The restaurant itself is a bit on the smaller side and does not have too many seating, but I have never had trouble being seated in a reasonable time. This place has recently gained popularity so the prices have gone up, but still worth trying for anyone interested in Korean soup dishes!

I really recommend this place! I was craving Soondae gook (순대국), and it was delicious. It came with so much meat inside, the sides were delicious, and it was so much food in general. The workers are super sweet, and I had a great time overall! The store was clean and well decorated, highly recommend!

TL;DR: small menu but everything is done well. Fast service and generous portions. We always love trying a place that does jokbal/soondae. We came here on a Friday evening, and it was packed! Also note, they close pretty early at 7:30PM. Interior has a good amount of tables, but they're fairly close to one another, but not bad since the food comes out very quickly. FOOD: ~Soondae (4/5): not the best soondae I've ever had, but still a solid choice. The flavor was more mild, but when using the salt or sawoojjut, it was pretty tasty ~Jokbal (4.5/5): The portion was HUGE! And it was so soft and flavorful. I like that they give you all the pieces of the hock and not just the the cut part ~Gam Ja Tang (4/5): you get a huge portion of the pork which was very tender. Because the pork bone was so big, there wasn't as much soup but it was still very good Overall, worth the visit, and I would definitely come back here and try other items on their menu!

I visited here based on a recommendation from another Korean restaurant that was more for couples (BBQ where you paid for 2 even if there was just 1). This place seemed very authentic Korean since the customers did not appear to be new to the food and the dishes were not that "mainstream" for those who weren't familiar with them. I enjoyed the side dishes and barley tea. After much contemplation, I went with the Seolleong tang (beef brisket soup). It was very mild spicy-wise, which was great for me. I brought back the leftovers but unfortunately did not get a chance to eat it before hopping back on the plane back home: I look forward to returning at my next opportunity to do so.

Small restaurant tucked away behind Dulles Expo Center. I highly recommend if you like gamjatang and big portions.

I like the decorations that feel kinda traditional and perfect for a soup house! Wooguhji seolleong tang - 3.5/5 so comforting and better than other seolleong tang I've had! With salt is better which they have on the table but was already pretty tasty, sweet, and meaty on its own. They pack the soup with a lot of cabbage and meat! I love the taste of boiled cabbage so I was super happy. Meat was decent, kinda dry but it usually is like that in this soup unfortunately. Budae jigae - 3/5 very sausagey tasting but good spice and flavor overall! I feel like there are not enough toppings which kinda sucks for the price. Mostly sausage, 2 small pieces of spam, tofu and some ramen mostly.

Great place for gamja tang. The serving was huge. I wish the soup was a bit spicier but the flavors were good. Service was fast. Place is clean and spacious. Will definitely come again.

Small cramped spot in a business park. BUT Amazing food. It's not a large menu but what they have on their, they do it expertly. Family of five got different things and they were all delicious. I want to go back and try the other things on the menu! Be prepared to wait for a table to free up. People watching was kinda fun though tbh.

This place was highly recommended by a coworker, and let me tell, it certainly didn't disappoint! Ko Hyang is a relatively small and intimate restaurant, but also very cozy and casual. Before this restaurant became really popular, you can get seated right away, but now, you may need to wait for ~15-20 minutes to get seated during the weekend. But their service is amazing, and super fast, so once you're seated everything is smooth sailing from there :) Food is always amazing whenever I visit, and their serving sizes are no joke! I love their banchan, especially their kimchi, and they definitely pile them up!! I highly recommend ordering their seolleongtang or gamjatang (what they are known for)!!

I do really like the online menu, where you can see big clear pictures of each dish. Inside the restaurant they do have small paper copies of the menu (without pictures) that you can use to choose your order before entering it on the kiosk. Taste of Korea is strictly self-service. You place your order on the electronic kiosk inside the front door. You also pick up your order from the counter and bus your table as well. Water is self-service too, which is good. I ordered the B5. Sizzling Stone Pot Bibimap. It was pretty good and I especially liked the banchan that came with it. But as I mentioned, the portion size was small (and the amount of beef skimpy), though you do have the option of adding extra ingredients for a price. Some pieces of the meat did have an off-flavor. There was a cup of broth (not miso) that came with the bibimap but it had no flavor. It was like drinking warm water. JP ordered the C6. Korean Style Pork Belly. The pork belly was very good and this dish also came with banchan and broth. We also ordered the Spicy Baby Octopus. It wasn't super spicy but it had a very delicious sauce. But probably more onion than octopus. We also ordered the Chicken Bulgogi, which was excellent. However, these two dishes only came with rice, and not banchan. I doubt we will come back because of the price vs. quantity ratio.
