If you're brave enough to venture through the Lotte market, you'll find a gem of a restaurant in Gom Soon Ah. Their fried pork dumplings are to DIE for, an insane crunch and the filling is so well seasoned and tender. The sauce that comes with is super good too, nice and vinegary to cut through the richness of the pork. I got my food in less than 10 minutes, and for a very reasonable $15 after tax for 10 dumplings! Not bad, but not great. The tang su yuk was disappointing - we tried it as soon as we got it, but the batter wasn't crispy. Nonetheless, it still tasted good with the sauce. It was my first time trying bibim naengmyun, so I don't have anything to compare this to, but it was a bit bland for me, and I felt like it was missing something. Maybe this dish just isn't for me. The menu is pretty extensive, offering Korean dishes (such as kimchi jjigae, haemool dwengjang, and hwang tae booguh guk), Korean-Chinese dishes (such as jjambbong, bokkeumbop, and tang soo yook), and appetizers (such as mandoos and pajeon). They also offer catering/big take-outs. Our initial visit here was pretty good; however, our subsequence visits were either mediocre or less than. We usually order: +Jjajangmyun - the noodles could have been drained more and cooked a little less, as they were slightly mushy; the sauce itself is more on the sweet end, and it contained more potatoes/veggies than the meat +Jjambbong - this had no flavor and was super bland; no spiciness, no depth of the broth, and the dish just seemed haphazardly put together +dol sot bibimbop - this came with some bulgogi, which was a bit more of a chopped style; the gochujang sauce was more on the sweeter end, but it was thick, and don't hesitate in requesting for more; rice could have been cooked better There's complimentary ice water and hot corn/brown rice tea next to the cashiers, which is a great addition. The biggest issue is the consistency, and perhaps the menu is too extensive to focus on items that they could focus on and make it better. We were just browsing inside Lotte Market and decided to try it after looking at the menu. I wanted to try the Galbi Tang as well as the Dolsot Bibimbap. The portion size was more than I expected so it was worth the price. It came with a good amount of meat and the broth was flavorful! Both came with small banchan side dishes that were fresh and tasty. There are several tables available for dining in the food court. Yummy Korean food located in the Lotte food court. Got the jajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, and the bulgogi. The portion for the jajangmyeon was huge and the flavor was quite good. The tangsuyuk was nice and crispy too and I liked that the sauce came on the side so you have the option of either pouring the sauce on or dipping each piece in. The bulgogi was well marinated and a good portion too. Service was pretty quick too after ordering. Ambiance is alright, fits the expectations of a grocery store food court. There isn't too much seating though so it's good to come here as a small group. If you're already grocery shopping at Lotte, you might as well stop by and come here to eat! read more

This is a go-to place for my family and me! There is something to appeal to all our tastes, including items for the table. The seafood pancake here is one of my favorites; for $15 you get a huge pancake that is chock full of shrimp and squid and green onions held together by a light batter. The tangsuyuk, or sweet and sour pork, is a generous portion that always come out very fresh. I've even taken my order to-go and it has stayed tasty and crispy since they serve the pork and sauce separately. I enjoyed the jjajangmyeon but next time will order one that comes with meat. My parents like to split the samgyetang -- they think it is comforting, flavorful, filling. Also, since this place is in a food court, you could try other offerings than anyone you come here with! read more

Pretty subpar. We ordered the haemul kalguksu (seafood handcut noodle soup), and the broth was chicken-based (not seafood). The noodles also were not handcut, but the same yellow noodles they serve with the jja jang myun. It was extremely disappointing. The jja jang myun tasted like it was made from an instant (boil in the bag) mix. The flavor was OK, not great. We had read good reviews of the jja jang myun here, so we had higher hopes. Server was extremely nice, but we won't return based on the quality and taste of the dishes we tried today. read more

Tonkatsu: might be the crispiest Tonkatsu I've had! Unique breading (slightly sweet- curry?), chewy rice, served with miso soup, lettuce, kimchi, radish. Bibimbap: Excellent and authentic. Located in the Lotte in chantilly, this mom and Pop shop has quite an extensive menu to select from. I came here to order one of their tofu soups. I got the kimchi and pork belly tofu soup, which came with rice and kimchi on the side. I thought the soup was very flavorful although what did surprise me was that my soup came with ingredients that wasn't listed on the menu(?) for example, my soup came with a couple of pieces of rice cakes lol note: the portion is a little bit smaller than what I'm used to at other locations There are plenty of seatings here. read more

Don't let that fool you, the flavor of these dishes would easily beat out some stand alone Korean restaurants I've been to. This is my second time back and they continue to impress! Ordered the soybean stew (된장찌개), bone broth (설렁탕), and the chicken dish (깐풍기), NR33. Each dish was very flavorful and the service was quick and courteous. The only downside was the extremely small portions of the side dishes you receive for each dish (kimchi & pickled spicy cucumber). Although, if you ask for more, they gladly give you more at no cost. Noticed the restaurant on yelp so decided to give it a try. It's located inside Chantilly lotte. They opened up yesterday but I saw a lot of people eating. Got braised mackerel (which I love) and it was actually pretty good and the price was not bad. In Hmart when they had it previously I remember paying closer to $20 ish for braised mackerel but it was $15 here. Since it's a food court restaurant, they didn't have any side dishes other than kimchi. Def will come back and try some more dishes ! read more

I have seen Gom Soon Ah many times when coming to this Lotte but I usually frequent the restaurant directly to the right: F&F fusion(excellent Filipino food). In fact when I went yesterday I had actually gone to get food from F&F but I found out they were closed on Mondays. So still hungry, I decided to give Gom Soon Ah a try. And boy I sure am glad I did. I have had Korean food more times than I can count in my life and especially in the overpriced and oversaturated hell that is Northern Virginia, Gom Soon Ah was a breath of fresh air. Both dishes I ordered were 15$ and for the quality and portions received they could have easily been priced much higher. Even though Gom Soon Ah was very busy, food still came pretty fast, and both my sister and I really enjoyed our meals(I personally preferred the pork over the bulgogi but my sister was the reverse). I would definitely go to Gom Soon Ah again, definitely one of the better Korean places I have tried in NOVA. read more

This unassuming brand new spot is in the Chantilly Lotte Market food court. My wife and I went there for a weeknight dinner, and boy did they deliver. Their haemul pajeon were rich and crispy, and the squid was fresh and very tender. The yukgaejang has perfectly done potato noodles and plenty of beef, scallion, and fern bracken (or burdock? I always mix those two up). My wife got the jampong and it was delicious! There was a generous portion of seafood and the broth was very authentic. The cashier and the guy who brought out the food from the kitchen were both friendly, they had free roasted barley tea, and the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and the generous portions. Go there if you get a chance! They deserve your business. Highly recommended read more

First time here, was in the mood for JjamPong, I think it maybe the best in the area. The thin, round noodles, the broth is the absolute perfect salty, sweet, spicy. The squid and shrimp, abundant. With tax it's $14 plus but the portion of this delicious bowl is very large. I wouldn't have finished it but I couldn't leave any. I'm not looking anywhere else for a great JjamPong. Located inside a food court of a grocery market, I came in with low expectations but was pleasatly surprised. I had uggujji haejangguk and jjajangmyeon. I would give 7 out of 10, which in my personal scale is really good considering most haejangguks in the Washington area (again to me) are barely 5.
