    Mul-Naengmyeon cold summer noodles
    Haru S.

This has to be the best Korean-Chinese fusion food I've had in a long time! I particularly loved the Naengmyeon (cold summer noodles). It had Asian pear slices, pickled summer radish, cucumbers, and beef to name a few ingredients. The noodle texture was perfectly QQ and the mustard sauce on the side that comes with it brings just enough heat to this refreshing dish. I also really enjoyed the fried shrimp with wood ear. It would've been perfect with beer or soju, but I had to drive after dinner. One day, I'll have to get it as take out! Service was fairly swift, and the dining area was well lit and cozy. I would heartily recommend having dinner here with family and friends.

*personal experience: I made a reservation for 20 people (for my wedding rehearsal). However, when we arrived, there was a huge leak in the private room, not allowing anyone to be seated there. The ceiling was leaking everywhere throughout the restaurant. So they asked us to wait for some tables to be cleared. However, no one called or mentioned about the leak when we called 20 minutes before our arrival. They made us split our group into three and sit on opposite sides of the room. The kitchen was probably leaking too and that would be a health concern. We were very unhappy that they did not mention the leak over the phone. Otherwise, we would have gone somewhere else. *personal experience: one time, while I was eating, there was something crawling on the wall next to me. I look over and there was a large brown cockroach climbing on the wall. I calmly call the server over to point at the roach, and she tried to hit it, but it fell to the ground. Then we proceeded to say it's fine and walk away. My whole appetite was gone after that. Parking: it's located in a shopping center, so there is a good number of parking spaces. However, it can get busy at times. Seating: it's not a huge restaurant, however it can fit a big group of people in the private room. Food: I like most of their menu. They have a good selection of Korean food. Price: it's not the cheapest Korean food, but it's average for Korean food. Service: overall they seem nice. However, I am still traumatized from them not telling us about the leak over the phone. They had people still eat & serve food while the entire store was leaking. There were large puddles in the restaurant and the ceiling looked like it was going to collapse.

My group ordered the jja jang myeon, tang su-yook, and khan poung ki. Tang su-yook and khan poung ki were both very yummy! Crispy and delicious The jja jang myeon was a little disappointing. Noodles were way too soft. Not chewy at all.

Oh man. This place has been going downhill for some time now and it's reached its destination. Rock bottom. Got take out and ate with my parents for an early dinner on Saturday. We had the jjajangmyeon and spicy tangsuyuk. JJM and TSY is one of my favorite meals. It's a winning combo. What I ate here is an abomination to Korean food. I've never had jjajangmyeon so bad. The sauce tasted okay but it had so much corn starch that it was difficult to mix into the noodles; it was clumpy. I couldn't get past the texture. Its noodles were overcooked, to boot. The tangsuyuk was battered and fried well, but the sauce was way too spicy. Not the pleasant tickle your tongue, make-your-scalp sweat type of spicy. I'm talking burn your esophagus, tongue numbing, can't-taste-anything, hyperventilate through your teeth while chugging water and say your prayers for tomorrow type of spicy. Maybe this is an isolated experience, but every time I've eaten here or gotten take out here in the last year I've been disappointed. This place used to be a go-to, not just for me, but for all centreville-ians. Now all I can say is run far away from this place and go to Jangwon.

Came on a rainy Saturday. Wasn't too packed, but wasn't empty either, couple tables filled. The server came to get our order pretty quickly. There was a lot to order from the menu. Donkatsu was pretty average, not the worst but not the greatest. I liked the flavor of the stir fry octopus as well as the broth from the cod stew. Overall the food wasn't too bad, would probably come again to try out the other food options they have on their menu!

In the backside of the Centreville Square district, a basic but bustling Korean restaurant sits! You sort of have to ask for things and be initiative but that's how most Korean restaurants are ~ The wait time for the food is pretty quick and the portions are above the norm! Taste wise - nothing out of the ordinary - just a good place to pop by when hungry and craving for black bean noodles or spicy sweet chicken! Sides are very minimal and basic~ Overall 6.5/10; would come bc the location is close and decent food comes out quick!

WHERE IS MY FOOD?? First time I came here, I was pleased and satisfied with their food. Now I come back here and my food is DELAYED?? Usually the food comes out on time. I had to wait 17 minutes exactly for my damn food. Who's idea was to give me my food so late?? I get it, its a stormy, busy Saturday. But like, if their busy is usually like this then why all of the sudden do bad? Someone please answer my question. UPDATE: Now the table is completely done being served. Its very usual for kangchon getting customers every Sunday afternoon. But its Saturday, no difference.

I generally like this place but I ordered the nakji bokkeum (spicy octopus stir fry) and it was $30!!! It looked good from the pictures but when I got it, I noticed a lot of noodles but minimal pieces of octopus. They were small af too and I felt like I got ripped off. I know in the picture, it looks half eaten. because it was, but do u even see any pieces of octopus?!????!! We need less noodles more octopus please!!! Normally I wouldn't complain but for $30? Come on man. #DoBetter They probably made at least $25 profit off this dish smh

If you can't decide what kind of Korean food you want to eat, this restaurant might be an option for you. They sell all kinds of Korean food (from Korean-Chinese to Korean street food). Their dishes have rich flavor and delicious in spite of their are not a one type of specialty Korean food restaurant (e.g: BBQ, noodles, Beef bone soup or Korean-Chinese food only restaurant). Servers are attentive and friendly (and experienced). Particularly if you have a large group to eat Korean food, this might be a good restaurant (spacious). Among Koreans in Centerville, Fairfax, Chantilly or other near areas, this is one of the restaurants to go meet their friends and have lunch or dinner. It is not a fancy nor a cheap Korean restaurant. So people love to go there to have a casual dining with their friends or family. Here are tips: Food: Average Service: attentive and friendly Ambiance: just okay but not romantic or luxurious Parking: Plenty (sometimes tour buses park there)

Overall, I thought the food was pretty average korean/chinese food. It did not really "wow" me, but I would probably come back here for a quick korean food fix. The food I ordered was at a relatively cheap price. I ordered a bowl of spicy seafood soup for 8.99 and the portion was massive!! You definitely get your bang for your buck! Service was okay, they did what they needed to do, which was take our order and give our checks. Throughout the dinner, there were no refills for water.

Really big portions and delicious jjajangmyun! Didn't have a half and half portion for lunch so just got one of each! I couldn't finish it but it was good and the service was super fast during lunch time.

The menu was extensive, filled with lots of homey options that I don't usually see in other restaurants. After ordering, we were served six different banchans, all of which were incredibly homey -- light and not too savory. My favorites were the acorn jelly (which was mixed with salted seaweed and sesame seeds) and the white kimchi. Honestly, all six were really solid. AL TANG - 19.99 Super savory with lots of "sea sweetness" and umami, this stew was rich and piping hot upon arrival. I've never had al tang before, but have heard great things about it. Unfortunately, I didn't love the texture of fish roe (kind of reminded me of the texture of cooked chicken lungs). By the end of the stew, I thought it was too salty, so I didn't end up finishing it. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but I probably won't get it again. My friend got the mackerel which he loved. I'll look forward to other items on the menu next time.
