Price: For the quality here, the price was good. I won't say perfect, but when factoring in the insane amount of food just default served, the freshness, and the taste, this was more than worth the money. Plus it's in northern Virginia. So. Good. Experience: A clean interior with little wooden boxes full of clean metal utensils on the table. Staff with genuine hospitality. Insanely quick service. Iced Korean tea and water served for free. And look at that menu. Korean. English pronunciation. A description. It even has pictures. Honestly amazing. Look at the menu. Look at it. Taste: This is the best Korean food I have ever eaten. Anywhere. For the menu variety ordered, the preparation was immaculate. Fresh. Balanced. Even the portioning was carefully curated to blend the variety of sauces and ingredients. Not too spicy. Not too salty. Not too sweet. But full of ingredient carried flavor in every bite picked carrot, spicy soup, or ox knee dipped in sesame soy sauce mix. It's even separated into convenient little bowls for customization, but without the inconvenience of basically cooking your own meals. Honestly amazing. I'll come here again if I stop off in Virginia. Maybe I'll go here just for this food. You should come here too. And bring everyone. I returned to the business multiple times to eat the kimchi jiggae because how magical it was the first time. But I have been disappointed each time. I really don't know if it's because too many people are getting it and they don't have the properly fermented kimchi... but the jjigae tastes too sweet and the depth of flavor is gone. I was very disappointed with my visit to this new korean restaurant. I usually frequent abbae, danji, or siroo for korean food but decided to try out this spot. The food tasted pretty bad. The bibimbap was unseasoned (usually the veggies are seasoned separately) and the meat was dry. The rice also wasn't cooked long enough so it wasn't crispy :/. The jokbal tasted like it was old/ reheated - the meaty parts were dry and the color looked weird. The gamjatang wasn't very flavorful and the meat was difficult to get off the bones. Very busy during a Sunday afternoon that it took 30-minutes (20 minutes more than expected) for my phone takeout order. The modeum suyuk ($43) was so good. I do wish that they provided more veggies to make the ssam, but you can purchase more for $5. It seemed unbalanced. I personally liked their ssamjang that came with the meal. The menu is extensive with many pictures to help with their great selection of traditional Korean dishes. Seating: there's a little more than 10 tables inside. The largest table seats 6 people. It's a small-medium restaurant. It was clean inside. Food: it was pretty good! I really liked the yukgaejang. I would order it again! My husband thought the gamjatang was a little too sweet for his taste. The portions were also a good size. Bathroom: the bathroom is located at the back of the restaurant. I have been here a total of four times and since the very first time, the food has been going downhill. The first time was in September. I ordered the pork rib kimchi jigae, beef soondooboo, and fried dumplings. Every dish tasted really good! The soondooboo was rich in flavor, the jigae is flavorful, and the dumplings were so delicious. Was excited about this new spot in Centreville! If the food stayed consistent, I would give this restaurant a 4 out of 5. The second time was early October and I ordered the seafood and beef soondooboo and I was very disappointed. The clams had like shells in them and did not taste fresh at all. I was scared I would get sick from them because they seemed very low quality but considering the other times, I thought it was worth returning. The third and fourth times were late October. The third time I ordered the pork rib kimchi jigae again and it did not disappoint. The kimchi was pretty good but I would say the food is pricey for what you get. The third time I order beef soondooboo but the taste had changed completely. I am not sure if it was a fluke moment, but I thought the jigae was just water and msg. No other flavor. No other taste. It left my mouth feeling dry. For a soup with just beef and tofu, I feel like $14 just does not make sense. I can make better food at home, so this was probably the last straw. Also, my friend got the seafood and beef soondooboo and felt sick after, so there is the issue with the seafood yet again. Overall, the servers are very kind. I wasn't sure what to try because of the expansive menu. My friends got the kalbitang, clam (bajirak) kalguksu (knife noodles), yukgaejang kalguksu, and I got the mool naengmyun (cold noodles in beef broth). The star of the day was the kalguksu, especially yukgaejang. It's piping hot, beef noodle soup with a kick. The broth was rich and flavorful. Mool naengmyun was disappointing; there are better things on the menu (and better places to get mool naeng myun). Kalbitang was good, but for $18 it came with 3 short ribs. The banchan (side dishes) were 2 types of kimchi and soy sauce radishes. The kimchi is on the super fermented, sour side. I would come here again! read more

We had an unfortunate experience at this restaurant. A large, disruptive group created a very uncomfortable and hostile environment. Despite several polite requests to staff, nothing was done to address the issue. We eventually had to involve the police because we felt physically threatened in the parking lot. Our food was never packed for takeout as requested, and we were unable to enjoy the meal we paid for. The staff did not handle the situation appropriately. We hope the management takes steps to better protect all customers in the future. He kept on insisting that we try Hankki as it was new and we are always looking for better options. I'll admit that I was a bit hes but I am so glad we went! First I just want to mention that their customer service was 10/10. The staff was so friendly! The female owner was so kind and nice to talk to! She checked on us many times and made conversing our baby :) she really went above and beyond! And they were busy at this time. The food was amazing. Large portions and quality was also great. We had no complaints about anything. It was also very clean inside.
