Always great service. Best soondae !!! I really didn't like soondae in America until here. Their dishes and soups (tang) very authentic. Love it here

I was very disappointed with my visit to this new korean restaurant. I usually frequent abbae, danji, or siroo for korean food but decided to try out this spot. The food tasted pretty bad. The bibimbap was unseasoned (usually the veggies are seasoned separately) and the meat was dry. The rice also wasn't cooked long enough so it wasn't crispy :/. The jokbal tasted like it was old/ reheated - the meaty parts were dry and the color looked weird. The gamjatang wasn't very flavorful and the meat was difficult to get off the bones. An overall unfortunate experience:/

Got the hangover soup and galbi tang -- both were super warming and comforting. The broths were rich and flavorful, perfect for a chilly day or when you just need a little comfort food. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when craving something cozy and hearty.

5 stars: would come back TL;DR: Extensive menu of a variety of Korean food - something for everyone's preference This space has lots of seating, and service is friendly and attentive. FOOD: We have tried several different dishes, some hits and some that were just okay, but nothing has ever been BAD. Our faves: ~Kimchi Jeon (4.25/5): the crispier type, but good flavor ~Gamjatang (4.5/5): great flavor and lots of pork ~Bossam (5/5): Very soft, flavorful, and huge portions ~Dwaeji deungalbi kimchi jjigae (4.5/5): great kimchi flavor and soft rib meat ~Myeongdong Kalguksu (5/5): broth was so flavorful. Dumplings and noodles were cooked perfectly. ~Bul Jokbal (4/5): Huge portions again and very tasty Others: ~Soondae (3/5): kind of bland. Better options elsewhere ~Jokbal (3.8/5): good flavor but a little chewier than I'd prefer ~Dwaegi galbijjim (3.9/5): more brothy/soup-like. Tasted very similar to Dwaeji Deung galbi kimchi jjigae Great spot for some Korean food. One of our go-to spots to scratch that itch.

To those tho love tosokchon in Annandale, I swear this place is a Tosokchon dupe. We ordered the Dwaeji Gukbab and soondae guk. The soondae in the soondae guk was the exact same as tosokchons. Broth was tasty for both soups with a good amount of meat. The kimchi jeon was thin and very crispy.

We are glad to found this place. A very cozy and located in a good area of centerville. We love every bite of our food. It has a right taste for everything. And the side dishes were on point!

Hannki was a local mom and pop shop serving authentic Korean food at a reasonable price in the centrevillenarea. We got the spicy chicken stew, meat platter, and chive pancake and everything was good! I do wish there was less tendon on the meat platter and replaced with others, and the chicken and potatoes in the stew to be smaller. Service was solid, it's a bunch of Korean aunties and the ambiance is homey and cosey

What a fantastic experience! The restaurant is small with an inviting atmosphere and the staff was super friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in. The menu is extensive with many pictures to help with their great selection of traditional Korean dishes. We tried a variety of things, and the highlights for me were the seafood pancake and gamjatang! The prices are also quite reasonable for the portion sizes. Parking is plentiful as it is in a shared lot with other businesses. A great spot for anyone craving authentic Korean food and a new add to our favorites list! We are definitely coming back. Enjoy!

Really great place for some korean soups! I have been here twice so far and it doesn't disappoint. I got the seafood soondubu and the soondaeguk, which were both delicious and flavorful. I really enjoyed the soondoeguk cause it has different kinds of meats in it and were all tender. My friends and I also shared the kimchi pancake which was also yummy. My friends also enjoyed their meals. I would probably reorder the dishes again or try something new!!!

Every dishes I had was good. Those waitresses were wrapping Mamdu (potstickers) which means they are 100% homemade, and each piece was big and juicy.

Hands down an amazing experience to another authentic Korean restaurant, but Hankki does better in flavor and customer service than the rest. Our waitresses were very accommodating, even going further to explain the different types of food, how to eat it, and what it goes best with. The flavor of everything was top notch as well, with generous portion sizes. Will be back for more!

I have been here a total of four times and since the very first time, the food has been going downhill. The first time was in September. I ordered the pork rib kimchi jigae, beef soondooboo, and fried dumplings. Every dish tasted really good! The soondooboo was rich in flavor, the jigae is flavorful, and the dumplings were so delicious. Was excited about this new spot in Centreville! If the food stayed consistent, I would give this restaurant a 4 out of 5. The second time was early October and I ordered the seafood and beef soondooboo and I was very disappointed. The clams had like shells in them and did not taste fresh at all. I was scared I would get sick from them because they seemed very low quality but considering the other times, I thought it was worth returning. The third and fourth times were late October. The third time I ordered the pork rib kimchi jigae again and it did not disappoint. The kimchi was pretty good but I would say the food is pricey for what you get. The third time I order beef soondooboo but the taste had changed completely. I am not sure if it was a fluke moment, but I thought the jigae was just water and msg. No other flavor. No other taste. It left my mouth feeling dry. For a soup with just beef and tofu, I feel like $14 just does not make sense. I can make better food at home, so this was probably the last straw. Also, my friend got the seafood and beef soondooboo and felt sick after, so there is the issue with the seafood yet again. Overall, the servers are very kind. They also seem to do their best to keep the place clean. However, I am not sure if the food is worth it. I wished they had kept the early opening standards but it seems not well maintained. How unfortunate.

The menu was extensive, filled with lots of homey options that I don't usually see in other restaurants. After ordering, we were served six different banchans, all of which were incredibly homey -- light and not too savory. My favorites were the acorn jelly (which was mixed with salted seaweed and sesame seeds) and the white kimchi. Honestly, all six were really solid. AL TANG - 19.99 Super savory with lots of "sea sweetness" and umami, this stew was rich and piping hot upon arrival. I've never had al tang before, but have heard great things about it. Unfortunately, I didn't love the texture of fish roe (kind of reminded me of the texture of cooked chicken lungs). By the end of the stew, I thought it was too salty, so I didn't end up finishing it. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but I probably won't get it again. My friend got the mackerel which he loved. I'll look forward to other items on the menu next time.
