If you feel the need to sing, or need someplace to celebrate a special occasion, come to Wave 808 Karaoke. Located in the 808 Center on Rycroft and Sheridan, on the 2nd floor on the very Ewa end of the building. Parking is available if you'd like to park on the premises but not sure what the rates are, but mostly everyone else finds street parking or at Walmart. I believe this is a BYOB, but they do sell alcohol if that's easier, but weigh out your own needs of cost vs convenience. The room was well equipped and besides the benches they had stools to sit on but was a little small for our party, so people mainly sang a song and hele'd on. For 5 hrs we had about a dozen people and choke pot luck food to go around. Also, the cost was around 2 bills per hour, but to each their own on what you want. They have a large selection of songs and you are able to use Youtube searches too. They also have a Korean machine for those into Kpop or Korean songs. Light controls were straight forward and added to the moment, but the beverage service was super quick. They had QR codes youn can scan and order food and drinks to your room. The convenience is superb. They also had a camera in the room to take selfies but we didn't try and of course used our phones instead. So, if you're in town and wanna do some vocal venting, come catch the Wave808 and sing till your hears content. Til the next que, Grind On, Pau!

If you are looking for a clean Karaoke, it is the perfect venue! We came on a weekday afternoon and it was pretty empty. We could sing Japanese, Chinese and English songs with good selections. You could bring own food but no drinks. But the drinks were very reasonable and they bring to your karaoke room. Parking in building is only valet and I recommend parking nearby Walmart or street parking (need to read the signs).

Checked out Wave808 Karaoke for some weekday karaoke. Made an online reservation for a late night large room ($120.00 USD/hour) for our party of 15. Nice perk that you can bring in your own food. We bought alcohol ($35.00 USD for 6 Corona Extra bottles), soju ($15.00 USD) and water ($6.00 USD). Make sure to set your own alarm so that you don't get charged for extra time.

We were feeling like karaoke on a Tuesday night and our usual go to's were all closed. But Wave808 was open and we could walk in! The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. You can choose the songs from the iPad in the room or download the app and connect it to the tv. It's pretty easy to use and if you can't find the song you want on the app, you can search on youtube! Love that they are open late and have alcoholic beverages for sale too. They also sell food, but we didn't order any.

Did you know that karaoke in Japanese means empty Orchestra? This is the literal translation and I am here for it! Wave808 is a great place and one of my favorite establishments to sing karaoke. I really enjoy being able to come to a place that is clean, fairly nicely decorated, centrally located, has ample parking, and also has a decent variety of food and drinks ( they also let you bring in your own food if you want, but not drinks since they sell those there). I like how you're able to make reservations online, with reminders sent via email and or text. This place is a little bit on the pricey side as far as private rooms go, but they have a really good song selection in addition to the other reasons why I enjoy this place and I'm willing to pay for these extras. If you want these extras, but don't really wanna pay a lot, come during their off times or happy hour times: it's a little cheaper then. The people upfront are nice and sometimes engage in friendly banter. There's a little bell in your room that enables You to call on them for beverage service, or if you need a new microphone because you killed it with your scream--I mean ethereal voice. I've only gone with a couple of friends so I only know of the smaller rooms, but they do have rooms that accommodate larger parties. While the rooms are sound resistant, they are not soundproof, not that anyone cares, I think. I know we didn't. Happy singing!

So much fun multiple sizes of rooms to choose from The room is set up as a Photo Booth-take as many pics as you like and down load them to your phone. Everything is automated and can be accessed from your phone from ordering food and drinks to adding your songs. Shunji made sure that we were taken care of and had everything we needed. Will definitely come back soon

This was the best karaoke experience I had in Hawaii on this last trip. The karaoke place is on the 2nd floor of a building full of restaurants on Sheridan street - not far from Walmart. Right as I came in one afternoon I was able to book a room for a few hours. They set me up pretty quickly and I was good to go. They use Healsonic so if you have the app on your phone and all your songs already chosen as favorites you can go straight to singing without searching through thick songbooks. They gave me the Healsonic wifi password to connect so I could use my phone instead of the pad they provided. You have language choices of English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, French, German, Hawaiian, Hindi, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Thai, and Vietnamese. For Korean you probably need a different device - like the TJ Media one. You can also access karaoke versions of songs on youtube through the Healsonic app so that's definitely a plus. There was a button in the room that I could press if I needed anything and the folks working there were very accommodating. Will be back for sure.

First time checking out the karaoke place. We got a large room that could fit 15+ people. The room was pretty spacious and I liked how easy it was to order food/drinks and que the songs. We had to download the healsonic app on our phone to search through songs and it was pretty easy to navigate. (They also had an ipad to search for songs and could also stream youtube for songs they didn't have). The room rate is pretty expensive compared to other karaoke places, but w/ a big group, it's not bad if you split up. The food order initially took a while to be delivered, but after a while it was pretty quick. It's also BYOF, so you can bring your own food. There is Margaritas downstairs so you could order their Mexican food and bring it upstairs. They don't allow any outside drinks tho. (Also have to purchase water) I'd come to this place again if we have another pau hana.

Apparently you're normally supposed to put a coin in to open the secret door, but it's broken right now, so the whole vending machine just swings right open. Slightly less secret, but still very cool. Inside is where this place really shines. Moody lighting, a giant orange tree in the middle of the room, Japanese hip hop playing in the background (I want to steal this entire playlist), and extremely cool and friendly servers and bartenders. I've been to a few other attempted "speakeasies" in Honolulu, but most are basically just dark bars with a fun door or code word. Wild Orange actually has the VIBES to make the whole concept work. Definitely worth coming just to hang out and chill. They have a full bar and an extensive specialty cocktail menu. Tried the Purple Dragon, made with ube liqueur and coconut cream. Very sweet--a little TOO sweet for my taste--but tasty and pretty. Probably should have listened to the menu and kept it as a shot, but I wanted something I could sip on for a while and chill. The Umeshu Highball was also very pretty and tasty. My friend who works as a sake distributor was impressed with their selection of good sake, so of course we had to order a bottle. Our server brought it out in an ice bucket, kept it off to the side, and completely served it for us throughout. Very classy. The food menu is fun and creative, but unfortunately not really for me because it's entirely vegan. Most times, but ESPECIALLY when I'm drinking, I want MEAT. Tried the Wild Musubi, a vegan Spam musubi. I'm not actually sure what the "meat" was. Possibly fried tofu? Whatever it was, it was definitely a passable alternative, but would have been 100x better if it were just plain old Spam. It also falls victim to what I find is a common problem with vegan attempts at Japanese food: anything teriyaki ends up being way too treacly sweet without actual meat or seafood to ground it in reality. Also tried the Char Siu Tofu Bao, fried tofu in a red Chinese-style char siu sauce on fluffy white buns. Again, fun and certainly not bad, but these would be 1000x better with actual pork. If Wild Orange had this exact same creative food menu but carnivore edition, this place would probably be 7/5 stars for me. That being said, I know being vegan will actually be a huge draw for some people, and I appreciate that the food is creative rather than just the usual sad vegan afterthoughts. Parking is pretty easy by Honolulu standards. It's inside Hawaiian Brian's, so there's a large shared parking lot. That being said, you might still have trouble finding a spot during peak gym hours since you're competing with all the 24 Hour Fitness customers. All in all, I LOVE this place. Definitely a fun stop--first, middle, only, or nightcap--on a chill night out. Will absolutely be adding Wild Orange into the rotation of places to bring out-of-town guests when I want to impress them with something cool and different. The vegan menu probably means it'll be a couple-times-a-year place for me rather than a regular haunt. But for drinks, service, atmosphere, and pure VIBES? 20/10.

Unfortunately, there is no espresso machine so you cannot get fresh drawn espresso to make a Carajillo the way Cafe Miro use to. The ahi brioche is a carry over from all Chris Kajioka places. The grilled cheese is excellent. Hotdogs are kicked up - it used to be a black truffled miso chicken sausage but the current one is a little different. The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Fix that problem and this place would rock.
