Okay this is a cute little hole in the wall spot. Its not your average fancy places your use too! However it does the job! You feed it money for credits and it plays the songs you want. Everything is in a big black book and its listed by the songs first name. This part was tough!! I wish it was by artist and not by song... It made it so much harder to find the songs we wanted... We've had two visits now and I can definitely say I enjoy myself here a lot more than that _uck _utt spot lol. Service here is much better and parking isn't the best but definitely way better than there too! Personally I've only visited at night and found a spot within minutes of turning into the street. I believe meters are free at night but if you're there in the day, bring quarters... The vibe here is chill but fun. Dart boards near entrance. Bar is nice and open. Good amount of both seating. The first time we came we reserved a room in the later part of 2020. It was a bit of a hum trip being that alcohol was put away promptly at 10p. 2nd visit we were able to babysit our drinks til midnight. The room was so spacious that 3 of us turned it into a dance club. Good times. The reason I took a star off was for the reservation deposit. A deposit is required to reserve a room which I get. What I dont get is that we got there quite early prior to our reserved time and decided to pupu & drink at a booth. We changed our mind about the room because someone from our group couldnt make it. It was a bit of a disappointment that they still took the deposit even though we kept our business there. It wasnt like we stiffed them and they completely lost $ because of our cancelled room. But whatev, times are hard for everyone and rules are rules right? All the foods we ordered were awesome. I have yet to try their oyster shooters, I'll keep trying. Drinks are great and prices are good. If you're looking for karaoke, food, alcohol and lots of fun, this is the spot. I think everyone can have a good time here. I have gone from a weekly regular here to an every now and then-er. The current owners are super kind and nice people. No outside drinks (even hydroflasks with water). What sets Pandora apart from most karaoke bars is the fact that some of the karaoke rooms have dart board machines in them. This is pretty unique and cool. I'm not sure if they still have multiplayer remote play (with camera) but that's fun too. For the rooms- Aux and karaoke switching are pretty fast so you can take a break from singing if the group is out of breath. The AC is usually pretty good in the rooms. Some rooms have better selections of songs (the room with a window to the main bar). Songs are still a dollar per song here (a lot of places now charge 2$) Pandora used to be a super Korean bar so they still serve all the flavored sojus as well as normal drinks, but don't expect the fixings of a Korean bar here. The soju flavored drinks here don't compare to Gangnam or Sojubang, but they still taste alright. Our water pitchers were never empty for long and I appreciated that. This bar has stood the test of time and I hope they stay open for many more years to come. read more

These are one of those rare nights where a few of my friends and I felt like unleashing our inner American Idol. After dinner, my friends and I decided to hit up Pandora Cafè which is basically a bar/karaoke lounge. The front area is where the bar and some tables are for eating and drinking. I believe I saw some dart stations also in the front area. The back area are where the karaoke rooms are. Not sure if they have a different size rooms, but the room we were in could easily fit maybe up to 6 people. Parking is in the back area of the building and to my surprise, parking was free. We were given a parking pass upon booking a room for karaoke where you would have to display on your dashboard. I'm not sure if it's standard, but my friend who came here last time for karaoke also said they got free parking. Definitely a huge plus! Parking is shared with the other business in the same building complex so it can fill up pretty fast. The staff here was nothing but great! Upon entering, we informed our host that we wanted a karaoke room and within seconds, we were shown to our room. Our waiter was also great. He kept on checking on us every so ofter making sure we were ok with drinks. The only minor con I have was with the karaoke equipment. We were provided with two mics, but for some reason, when both mics were turned on, only one would work at a time and the audio was going in and out, but if we turned one mic off, the one left on would work fine. We did inform our waiter and he was kind enough to try and find out what the problem was, which wasn't really resolved. I've been a regular customer here for the past 7 years. The owners are a very nice couple. They and the workers there are always attentive and respectful. My drinks are never empty, and their food is always top-notch, especially the sushi. My favorite is the lobster Dynamite and Teriyaki ribeye steak because it comes on a sizzling platter, which makes great videos on my social media page. Karaoke rooms are always clean. They also have a huge variety of flavored sojus. Sometimes, they have them on special for $15, which is great for my pocket. They also have a new machine that takes tap payment, in case you forget your wallet. I'll always keep coming back to this place. HELPFUL TIP: Make sure you bring your ID and call ahead to reserve a room. Sometimes, they get booked up. Friends wanted to go to Pandora Cafe for karaoke as it was in close proximity to our Moana Shopping Center. One friend simply called ahead and found that that there was a private room available for $20 for 2 hours. Upon arrival we got a huge room for the six of us that could definitely have seated approximately 20 people. You pay a dollar a song by inserting dollar bills into the karaoke machine. Service was okay and shots of strawberry Stolichnaya were $7 each. There's also a limited pupu menu. Some people ordered fries and others ordered things more fancy like raw oysters on the rocks. This location has very limited parking but there is street parking available. Watch out if you don't like smoke as there's a huge Congregation of smokers just outside. We happened to look up this place as this was the second restaurant that served Ube soju shots. That place ran out when they opened so they lost our business! This place was rated ok but took a chance anyway. The outside of this place looked skeptical and thought it looked looked like a small joint! Once you get in, it had a bar and several bench seats. You can tell it was a little run down but it's been here awhile. The seats even had holes that were taped up with scotch tape! That was funny! Every though, we came right when they opened, no lines, no one was inside but we were greeted well enough. We found out the owner Chris was the greeter and he was very cool and easy to get along with!! It happened to be happy hour. They had some great deals on drinks and appetizers. We ordered spicy tuna hand rolls and calamari! They were very good! I even ordered seconds on the hand rolls! We also had their soju carafe of Ube and Melona honeydew! So it was my first time here and it was okay. The waiter sat down and took our order but it was a while before they even came in. We sang maybe like 2 songs before they even gave us water. When he took our order I think we confused him a bit. We ordered 5 spicy ahi don buri bowls, garlic fries, 2 soju drinks and mozzarella sticks. As for the garlic fries, it didn't even taste like garlic, it looked like regular fries. When I saw that on the receipt I was like this is false. On the other hand, the soju drinks where really good. We got lihing strawberry that tasted just like ju mai strawberry and we also got ube a classic. Both where so bomb, so definitely recommend getting those drinks. The tables where a lithe los and they don't offer plates so it was a bit hard to eat if we where sharing the fries. As for Songs, they don't have modern songs, but basic songs that every karaoke place has. All in all we probably paid around $30 each. There's a $20 room reservation fee, so among the 8 of us, it wasn't too bad. I think overall it was a good experience, I got to hang out with my friends and eat. We reserved a room for 6. Paid $25.00 for 9-11pm then another $25.00 for 11-1. But that's not it. They charge 3 dollars for parking but write a paper ticket to put on your dash. We ordered Soju and regular price was 20.00 but they said since we rented a room it's 18% surcharge so it was gonna be 25.00 a bottle. I don't think 18% is 25.00 but we were shocked that everything was more expensive because we reserved a room. I asked an associate what the extra charge was for....and then she said gratuity. So at this point I'm confused. Just seems like they're finding ways to charge extra money. Yes they did give 2 hours for free...just realized that. Don't know why it took me a year to finally review this place. If you read my friend, Cecile Kikilia A.'s review, we are reviewing the same experience at Pandora Cafe. After visiting four different karaoke bars on island, I believe I can finally make an informed review and comparison. Service was friendly and prompt. Whenever we would call for service, staff would quickly and gladly help, from helping us relocate TWICE to different rooms, to patiently breaking change for us to use on the karaoke machines, to simply taking our orders for food and drink. With all that said, I'm giving Pandora three stars for the following reasons: - The multiple relocations, having to yield to reservations (could've organized this better so we could stay in one karaoke room the entire evening) - Remember the part about staff patiently breaking change? Machines only take $1 bills, unlike in other karaoke bars. They even eat some of the bills! I want to sing karaoke, worry-free, without having to make change! - Food wasn't quite memorable, but prior Yelp reviews helped me brace for that. I love singing, I love eating, and I love drinking (occasionally!). I expect to enjoy all three at once such as in other karaoke bars! Parking isn't too bad, though I personally would prefer parking at the mauka side of Ala Moana Center to not deal with the usual hassle of finding parking in town at night. We've been coming here for awhile, but this was our firsr time coming since they reopened, post pandemic. It's definitely not what it used to be. A couple things you should know before going that they don't mention beforehand: 1. Only one mic is allowed per room, according to the worker it's "against the law" to allow more than one mic. This is the first time I've ever heard that as we have been to many karaoke places since covid started and none of them told us we couldn't have a second mic. 2. The songs are no longer $1 per song in the private rooms, they're now $2 per song. The system actually restarted on its own a couple of times and never played our song, but deducted the money. When we brought it to their attention, he said "you still have more credits". yes, but that doesn't change the fact that it still ate our money. So if you're gonna be there for the 4 hour time slot, while ordering drinks and food-- it might actually be way cheaper to go to HMC or kapolei karaoke where the rooms are more expensive but it's byob and food and unlimited songs. Also - we ordered the ube soju. When it came, it was very thick and grainy like a protein shake. Clearly it was made with ube flavored powder and lt wasn't palatable to anyone in the room. When we told the waiter we wanted to switch it for a different flavor, he gave us a hard time and then said he had to ask the bartender. So she comes storming in the room and asked who had a problem with the ube soju (it was so thick that it stuck to the sides of the glasses we poured it in). After her giving us a little attitude and trying not to give us and exchange, she grabs the carafe, and storms back out of the room, slamming the door on the way out. super unprofessional, but whatever - we just wanted to have a good time and not pay $20 for a small carafe of the worst soju we had ever tasted in our lives. The food - used to be so good. Used to be. We ordered the garlic karaage chicken and it was gross. Tastes like it was rolled in cinnamon and nutmeg then fried. My guess is that for some reason they used star anise seasoning for the sauce? Either way, didn't taste like garlic karaage chicken at all. We also ordered a poke salad. That took almost an hour to come (how?? Zero cooking involved in that). When it arrived, it had a few tortilla chips on the bottom instead of lettuce. But it took so long to come that we just decided to keep it because it came about 2 minutes before our time in the room was up. With so many different options for a karaoke/drinks/pupus environment on the island -- we suggest that you do your research before choosing this spot. We definitely regretted it. read more

I made reservations via email and text message for a Friday night. I had some visitors in town and thought this place was perfect for them to experience karaoke and eat sushi! Happy hour is until 830pm which gave us ample time to order food and drinks. They have a special on certain sojus that are an all night special for $15. They also had a Coors light special (2 for $5) all night as well. There was a 4 hour time limit for the room rental and a $20 charge for the room. Songs are $1 per song. As soon as we got there, we needed to sign a mini contract, which was definitely a new thing. There was a $10 extra charge for leaving the room messy and a $10 extra charge if you soil the seats in the room. (Interesting) Overall we had a great time singing away in the room. The food and sushi were good for happy hour. I highly recommend going during happy hour. The only thing that was a little off that night was one of the waiters. He wasn't sure what the bar had or not and he got our sushi orders wrong. On the bright side, he and the other waitresses were very attentive and helpful. read more

Supposedly having an aux cord and microphones are not allowed even if paid for the room already and the aux cord as additional. There was no last call notice prior to ordering. This is a list of events that happened during the 4 hours we were there, sorry if it's a little messy. First off, the food somehow got worse. First off, the guy that started waiting our room was so unorganized . I got there a little after my friend and her boyfriend did, but she said it took her boyfriend 20 minutes just to get his change from his first order ( oh yeah, they also close your tab out after every order, which I get is so that people don't forget to close out once there too drunk, but the servers seemed to have trouble keeping track). The server came in 5 times between my friend closing out his order and getting his change, and he kept having to remind the server TO BRING HIS CHANGE. Not only that, he kept saying weird things to us and complaining about his own workplace. We had ordered the lobster dynamite roll ( which was good, I'll give them that) but it was taking a while, and the server poked his head in and said "sorry it's taking a little long, they don't know what they're doing back there. It's a mess." And when one of his coworkers came in he called from our room "oh, you're here thank god now we don't have to work as hard" or something like that. Also, my friend was trying to turn on the karaoke screen because she hooked the aux cord to play music off her phone for a while, and when we asked for help he came in and turned on the screen. My friend asked what button he pushed so he could just do it himself next time without having to ask and he just sassily said, "don't worry about it. Just call for help next time". At one point we gave up ordering from the room because he kept forgetting our change, so we went up to the bar to order drinks. We ordered 2 shots, from who I believe was either the owner or manager. We waited, for what was about 10 minutes. I'm wasn't very busy by the bar, but we asked the other bartender where our shots were. She asked the owner/ manager that took our order and she said "I gave it to them already." And we both said "no..." and she said, "oh wait I sent them to the room. Oh wait I didn't make it." I'm sorry, but if you're running an establishment, learn how to do the job you're taking over! Aside from that, we had all the servers poking their head in 2 seconds after each other every 5 minutes asking if we need anything, which sounds like attentive service, but it bothered more than helped. We were in a karaoke room, we obviously don't want to be bothered often. And one of the servers kept whispering and stuttering at us and we couldn't hear a thing he was saying. My awesome experience with this cafe started when I called them to see if they would be able to accommodate me and my friends to celebrate our dance choreographer's birthday celebration. The person I spoke to was very pleasant, helpful, and patient when I explained to her that we needed a karaoke room for approximately 20 people. We needed the room after the birthday dinner celebration around 10:30pm. She patiently took my information and confirmed the reservation. That night we finished dinner at 9:00pm - I called Pandora Cafe to see if we can start karaoke earlier 9:30 instead of 10:30. The man who answered the phone was absolutely very helpful - we got there and were greeted so quickly and the person in charge of parking was so efficient. Everything went smoothly since - service was excellent - staff was very helpful, friendly, and attentive - we got served our food, drinks immediately. Everyone had so much fun, dancing and singing, especially the birthday celebrant. We were all very pleased with the food, service, and ambiance. We would definitely love to come back again and again. For those not familiar with this spot, it was formerly DoReMi. It is located on Makaloa Street across the street from Walgreens. Parking is available on the street as well as parking in the back. See the bartender for pass. We came in for a farewell party. Room was no charge, however all food and drinks must be purchased from the establishment. Drinks and food were tasty and reasonably priced. Karaoke machine costs $1.00 per song, best to insert each dollar individually. Directions for the karaoke machine was simple to use! Our experience in our room was great! Our server gave us continuous prompt service. Our drink and food orders came out quick. We ordered the wings, the kimchi fried rice, noodles, buckets of beers, and assorted soju. I have to say the melona soju was ONO, it creeps up so heed my warning! We stayed for over 3 hours, not once was there a hiccup in our service. Kudos! We enjoyed every minute of our party! Thanks to the staff of Pandora for being an awesome spot! First of all, they got our reservation date wrong and they accommodated us with 3 small rooms when we reserve 1 big room. Service is total trash. The bouncer was rude because we had a water cup in our karaoke room after 12. Then he proceeded to close the door on my significant other when we were about to exit. I dont know if the management knows, but their employees need training and general manners. I known its a bar and it busy but we are guest and it was my friends birthday. to be completely honest, not being able to go there instead of them treating us like trash the whole would be WAY better than actually trusting them to try to make up for their mess up. Dont go to this place. They dont know what their doing. They look like their on their way to being shut down and thats why they dont care about their customers other than this one girl who was a server that wasnt even our server who showed us the hospitality that we definitely deserve tonight. read more

I have never karaoke so much till I met my now Yelp BFF Angel !! Karaoke #2 we are trying and this time with Aiko (Angelica) . CUSTOMER SERVICE: They were very accommodating the first small room had issues with the songs being different book and played the wrong one. Bryan the manager refunded us on this when the machine ate it. Then decided to put us in a bigger room to make up for the hassle. They checked on our small group periodically. As you walked in there are open seats along with the bar and some shooting darts. Dark ambiance along the way to the private rooms. As we walked in the waitress greeted us instantly and took us to the large room in the back. Large room seated say ~15 visitors. No decor in the room just 2 floating tv screen on each side of the room with the karaoke money feeding box. Rooms looks clean. Service: our waitress was nice, came to take our orders, instantly. It was a good thing though because happy hour ended at 830p and we got there just in time. We ordered Soju and some mix drinks and couple hot food from the happy hour list. We had more than waitress who came into the room, which I thought was awesome. Hoped to see more pupus on their menu. I wanted dukbokki and pajeon since it was Korean karaoke. Love the $1 machine. Suggestions: Always give plates with pupus. We ate on napkins, since our plates didn't come when told. The bartender should know learn how to make a Yager bomb shot. But it's ok, we all learn. For $9 bucks, I got guiness beer instead of red bull which was hilarious. Specials for the night should be told while the visitor quickly peruse through the menu. Overall: great experience. Took my Wife for her birthday brunch. Didn't have to wait long after checking in at the door. Seating is spaced out so you're not close to anyone. Food was very delicious. Good place to have a drink until 2 in the morning but I wished they were all consistent on making mixed drinks. The food is okay for pupu and you can't get disappointed when you make it for happy hour. Yes save money and they give you a reasonable amount for two ppl. In a group of 4 or 6 need to order everything in threes kinda hard when you are with guys that eat like horses. The waitresses are really really nice and don't mind the sketchy looking ppl that comes in and out nobody bothers you and they mind their business. I had to constantly wave the waitress down. although it was a slow night, the waitress was just busy eating at the bar and I had ask her for water and she forgot.. like she literally told us "oh I forgot." and the yogurt soju was watered down, we didn't even finish 3/4 of it. not worth $15 reply to Wrylo A: hello. my biggest concern was not the renovation or the watered down soju. it was more that the waitress was paying no attention to us and when we tried to order the soju, I asked if she preferred the regular strawberry flavor or the strawberry yogurt soju. she clearly stated yogurt. I was trying to give my guest a first good impression of this place because I've been coming here for awhile now, but the waitress we had disappointed us. she was busy eating food right in front of us and stood around talking stories. I have been in the bar industry and I am also a cocktail waitress myself. I know what to expect when I am receiving "good customer service" and that waitress did not succeed in that. DEETS Pandora Cafe is a contemporary bar / lounge inclusive with its own mini sushi bar. It is located in the Koreamoku district, on Makaloa. This place sits in the building across of Walgreens, right next to Boom Boom Room. Parking may be difficult, but street is probably your best bet. The lighting is more brightly lit than at most bar / lounges, but it suits this place just right. It's a pretty contemporary joint with a bunch of urban paintings on the wall and a few flat screens that play Korean (K-pop) music videos. Pandora Cafe is a nice, hip alternative to the other bars scattered throughout Honolulu. I wasnt to happy with the owner; he wasnt the kindest. His demeanor wasnt kind at all. I was asking him about the rules and policies in place. He wasnt kind and very aggressive. The karaoke system didn't work too well. We only got a few songs in because the book and karaoke system were not in sync. My suggestion to you if you plan on going, is download the app provided with the QR code posted somewhere around your room. The app will have about 90% of the songs correct in coordination with the numbers. Far as the food goes, it was actually great. Go between 5-8:30 for happy hour! Pupus tasted just right. Prices for them during happy hour isn't bad. Bartenders were good at mixing; our alcohol tasted gooood The waiters that served our room were trying to be very helpful. I saw & heard the manager raise his voice at staff and disciplining when staff was asking questions they didnt know the answer to. I used to love going to this karaoke bar, but after today I can say I dont want to return. I hope in the future the management sees that speaking to customers and staff the way he was wasn't right. Thanks for doing the best you can waiters even in those circumstances. Sad the manager didn't have the right attitude for customer service. I've been to Pandora Cafe twice now and have had a great time both times. They have parking in the lot behind the building, which you enter from Makaloa street (across Walgreens). There's a pay box but the staff will give you a parking voucher to place on your dashboard so it's free to park there. It's not a huge place, but they have booths and darts and a bar area and karaoke rooms in the back. I recommend making a reservation for the karaoke rooms since it's free and you just pay for the songs, $1 each. The largest room accommodates about 20 people comfortably and it even has one of those colorful disco lights you can turn on to set the party mood! I'd say song selection doesn't get updated very often so if you're looking to sing your heart out to recent top 40 picks, you better go elsewhere. But if you are into oldies but goodies, some spice girls, whitney, journey, etc. you'd do alright here. I can't really attest to the food but they have some happy hour specials until 8:30pm. Their soju is delicious! The watermelon tastes like fresh pureed watermelon juice, which is very refreshing. The apple and strawberry yogurt sojus are also delicious. Service has never been an issue for our large groups. I will definitely be back with my bunch of rowdy coworkers for some good drinks and fun times. read more

This place isn't terrible, but it isn't that great either. I went with my husband and his friends and stayed there for about an hour. We got our own huge room, which was nice. The ac was awesome. It didn't get clammy so that was a plus. To cost $1 to play songs so I mean it's a pretty fair price. To use an aux cord it was like $10, so I mean it's a fair price if you're gonna stay there for a couple hours since you won't be using the machine, but at the same time it's like "wtf?" The service was great for like the first 15 minutes. Our server would come in and check on us if we needed more shoju or if we needed anything to eat. After that, no one came in and it was just downhill from there. Since no one checked in on us, I had to go outside to the bar and order food (which isn't a big deal). Anyways, I ordered a California roll from their menu, it was about $7. So I mean, it's definitely a reasonable price...I guess. In this case not so much. You get like 6 pieces of sushi. The crab wasn't seasoned and it was awful. The seaweed as well was tough. I think the worst part was that I had to wait 30 minutes for my sushi. They said it was a miscommunication, but I had asked where my food was after 15 minutes had went by so I'm confused where the miscommunication was. Regardless, I left after getting my sushi. I have no idea if they charged my friends the infamous "cleaning fee". Overall I don't think I'll be coming back. I guess it's sort of like BWW where it's just bar food. Parking good! Gotta pay but $1/hr is not bad. Food is pretty awesome! I was surprised. Staff is friendly and Asiana is awesome! That's who we came to see!
