Be sure that you know all of Walmart's policies for yourself before you speak with the customer service department, as they will make up policies of their own that even corporate has never heard of. I went to participate in the car seat buy back program and was told that my Greco car seat must include a separate base in order to qualify. They told me the buy back program was a third party program that required a base. I noticed that they had already accepted my same car seat from other customers, as it was sitting in the large return pile just to the right of me. I asked them to verify with a manager that this information was correct and they brought over a CSM named Nancy who blatantly agreed without further research or remorse for my inconvenience. I drove to the Livermore store and returned my car seat with no problems. I returned to the store to file a complaint with their store or general manager and Nancy called the Auto manager to hear my complaint and walked away. I called corporate. read more

Absolute morons. Drove a good distance looking for men's briefs but basically found empty racks with only a few 2XXL. When I asked the woman working in the men's department if they had any in the back I was told that they did but they couldn't be brought to the front. Naturally I asked "why not?" The only answer I got was sorry I can't help, if there's none on the rack then we're all out. I asked: are you telling me you are completely out of stock even though you confirmed you have some in the back, and she gave me this, sorry I don't know anything I only work here response. We actually like this Walmart better, even its a little bit of a freeway drive from Hayward. There is always parking one way or the other (and warning to people via signs that you can't park here for BART) Greeters are actually friendly here. Hardly anything is locked up here unlike San Lorenzo - Hesperian , and Union City (although they are making a mark to improve) Store is clean overall and has a selection of everything. Even the employees I asked for help, well they helped me find the items I was looking for so I am happy with that. I received the best service from "Debby" or " Debra" from the customer service. She was called to assist us by the staff at the table cause they couldn't figure out our problems. Debby came to us and went to the back office and checked. When she came out, she resolved our mystery with all the necessary proof. I was impressed about her positive attitude. I have been shopping at this Walmart for many many years. I agreed with some of the people who mentioned about getting frustrated with the lack of knowledge of the staff. However, it doesn't take many to change. Just one positive employee doing the right thing can easily improve the image of the store. Walmart has fantastic deals, so I don't expect an elevated experience when I shop at most of their stores. However I do expect decent service. I recently dragged my husband into this local Walmart to prepare for a bbq, we loaded up a couple hundred dollars worth of product and went to check out. I didn't want to hold up the self check out line, so proceeded to a cashier. The older woman began ringing us up and I proceeded with entering my debit card info at the pin pad, to speed the checkout process. The woman then asked if I wanted the protection plan for a pair of solar lights I was purchasing and I replied no. She stated that I need to select no on the pin pad. The prompt on the pin pad didn't come up and she was visibly annoyed with me and proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't have entered my card after she asked me, at which point I informed her that my card had already been placed into the pin pad before she asked and I couldn't possibly have known. She proceeded to tell me that now I was going to have to go to customer service to have the protection refunded. I was left feeling like I was an inconvenience to her. I became upset and asked to speak to a manager at which point she said I would need to go to customer service for that as well. The whole experience just felt wrong, so I left my husband and I walked over to customer service to seek a store manager. All the while she complained to my husband that it was only a couple dollars and that I should have waited to put my card in. After waiting and not actually being directed to an actual manager, I ended up leaving without making my purchase and drove all the way to Livermore for the items I needed. I hope that for the sake of the store service behaviors improve but I will no longer shopping here. read more

California  employment law requires employers to provide meal breaks and rest breasks to employees who are not "exempt employees." Under California wage and hour law, non-exempt employees must receive a thirty (30) minute meal break if they work more than five (5) hours in a day. Now I get it that a shift manager was changing shifts but your people need to have communication! This poor dear woman who was at her breaking point was still kind! Complete and utter chaos of a store. Merchandise is unorganized, poorly stocked and damaged. Staff cannot answer basic questions about locations of items. They don't carry face masks. Checking out is a challenge and hellish experience because on the busiest day and time of the week they only have 1 or maybe 2 cashiers on checkout. This is one of the better Walmarts that I have been too. The aisles were clean and shelves stocked decently. I don't normally expect much from Walmart, just come here for the cheap prices and Tsum Tsum exclusives haha :) Last time I was here was for a small coffee maker, something under 5 cups. I was able to find a Mr. Coffee brand for 5 cups and a decent price (~$13). Too bad that Royal Kona coffee isn't carried in store and super crazy expensive online (yay for bf going to Hawaii in a week to get a bunch for me!). One thing I really disliked was that most of the boxes on the shelves were crushed in some way. There's glass in the box... and I don't want to buy something that's already broken. It took a while to dig through all the boxes to find one that wasn't really banged up. As for the people working here, unless it's the front, I couldn't find anyone and the electronics counter was empty for a long time... best to just wander to the front for assistance or play hide and seek with the employees. I bought a $100 gift card for a senior citizen friend at the Pleasanton Walmart as a Christmas present. When she went to use it, the clerk at the store told her the balance was zero! I called customer service and they said I should send a copy of the receipt and gift card to them. I did so only to get a response that they were sorry but there was nothing they could do! I am just out of luck, someone used the card for an online purchase. My friend is 89 years old and doesn't even know how to buy things online. Worker is incompetent. I brought the wrong card and so all my stuff declined at the self check out station. Told the attendant if I could leave the stuff up in front with her because I have to go back and grab my debit card. She says to me "that's not my responsibility" well whose fucking responsibility is it? I told her I didn't pay for it and if I could leave it up front again and she repeats the same shit over again. Yes I am actually giving five big all stars to this Supercenter because guess what... you can't beat their price , the vast choice and the fact that you can ship for a sun lounger, a kettle (as I did) or your toddler's new pair of cheap and cheerful shoes + a crazy fun tees all for under $10. Yesterday I came in and needed to buy something that was locked in the sporting-goods section. I press the button and wait about five minutes. Then I see it to people talking in the electronic section a black girl and a guy who is dressed like a woman I woke up and I said. " hey can you guys get somebody to the sporting-goods section? I need something that's in the cage locked up" so the lady dude said yes I'll be right there so I walked back. Assuming she's or he is probably a few seconds behind me. I shut around and they were still talking. I wait another three minutes and now I'm upset. I storm back over there, and I tell them look in your conversation and come help me complete. Disregard for a customer who's waiting for some thing it was extremely rude and I just can't believe how they have no self-awareness that somebody has already walked out for help and the value their conversation about what they did last night over helping a customer. read more

The parking lot is probably the worst part of this place. It gives me an anxiety attack just parking here. Everyone is so rude. So I park as far away from the entrance as possible. The upside is this Walmart has the best selection of women's clothes around. The best office clothes, the best casual clothes, the best dresses. I don't leave without buying some article of clothing. The aisles are laid out nicely and wide enough for your cart and the five illegitimate children of the woman next to you opening all the boxes of macaroni noodles, oh and grandma in her Hover-Round too! Service on this side of the bay is better than others. Livermore Walmart wins the honor of the best customer service though. A Walmart in a place that's unusual for Walmart: in the Hacienda Business Park, in the semi-upscale Tri-Valley area. That's good for people who live here and want to save money. For the most part, it's a typical Walmart. With one exception: This one has a larger food section. It is not a Super Walmart; those have a full-sized grocery store too, and the Pleasanton store does not. But it has double the amount of freezer space and fresh produce as others in the Bay Area. Otherwise, you go here, get just about everything you need, and get out. Low- to middle-end goods at low prices. You could look for the infamous People Of Walmart, but they're not here. On 25 May at around 10 AM we stopped by at this store as we were driving by. We had the shopping cart full of kitchen wares. As we were waiting in line to pay we could hear the cashier ( Paula) having conversation and we can see that she was very engaged with the customer in front of us. My brother went ahead of me so he could pay his two items. Paula didn't even acknowledge us (hi nor hello or thank you for waiting)as my brother was about to pay he asked if they are providing plastic bag, she responded rudely by saying "NO!". No explanation at all. You can tell that she's not happy that we were in-front of her. I informed my brother that its ok if they're not providing a shopping bag I got a small one, as I was pulling a bag from my bag she immediately snapped at me and said "You cannot use that bag! Woe!! Instead of saying "I'm sorry you may not use your bag". I don't want to stoop down to her level so I had her finished ringing my stuffs and paid my bill. Again, no thank you! Nothing! As I was putting away my things in the cart, Paula greeted the next customer and started having a conversation. It made me wondered why she treated us unkind. As I looked at the customer ahead of us and behind us they're all Caucasians and we're not. I hate people who are using their color just to be heard, but now I know how it felt to be treated differently. As we were walking out from the store I felt like I needed to raise my concerns. I informed the lady that was manning the door that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. As I was waiting, I saw Paula looking at me across the store. I raised my concern to the supervisor and I don't know if my concerns matter. However I want my experienced from this store to be heard. I've been to several Walmart stores and I never experienced such customer service. I found out from the supervisor that they ran out of plastic bags because their customers were taking advantage of the free bags. That's all Paula had to explain in a customer service representative way. I understand that during this pandemic everyone is stress but working in a such environment as customer service is not a place for a rude cashier like Paula. For that, I gave this store a one star. The absolute dirtiest, worst store in the history of mankind. How this place hasn't been shut down by someone - anyone - for the highest level of incompetence is utterly shocking. The shelves are a mess, inventory control is non-existent, and there are giant displays placed in every walkway to obstruct you. The constant intercom will drive you nuts. And no one who works in the aisles speaks English, so fair warning if you need help. I was there on a Sunday, and attempted to buy wine. Only the self-checkouts were open. State law prevents purchasing wine there, so the only guy at the self-checkouts told me to go to a register. But none were open. All 12 were closed. I just stood there. Dumbfounded. But here's the kicker... This place doesn't have bags. Read that again. I'm not kidding. They always pretend like they're all out. They won't admit they don't offer them. Just to be clear, this Wal-Mart, in the last 2 times I've been there, had NO bags. None. I know - you think you're not understanding what I'm saying here. But you are. Oh, you are. I was discriminated against at this Walmart do not shop here. I repeat do not shop here!!!!! This is a Walmart located in Pleasanton California which shockingly is ghetto as f***. I was told I could not bring my purse into the establishment because it resembled a backpack. I was told I must put it in the lockers to continue shopping as I walked in. I complied with the rules and pressed on super annoyed with my shopping little to my knowledge saw a woman walk right past me with a full-on backpack on in the store nobody told her she couldn't wear it maybe it's because she was a black woman and I was a white woman. The irony in all this is it was a young black woman at the door who told me I was not allowed to bring my backpack in (which said one love on it and a picture of Bob Marley a f****** ironic is that. )I will never come here again you lost my business. UGG!!! Now I have a a non-Walmart policy since I found out they censored the music they sold, and because of how they treat their employees, especially women!!! BUT...I was having trouble finding certain items where I usually shop...Target and Costco. So DD and I took a trip here yesterday...and it sucked! Three people were arguing loudly in front of the store...looked like a dispute over "who took the drugs" to me...we didn't stick around to find out!!! Very limited merchandise is available...yes...much worse than my usual spots. Nasty, messy store....nasty clerks at check out! The one star review was for the elderly Asian greeter today - he didn't seem like he was out of his mind like other greeters they usually have. He seemed completely normal. Now even though I live within walking distance from this Wal-Mart, I drive to Dublin to go to Target. Today I just needed a gallon of white vinegar and some kitchen sponges so I thought, "hey, how about we save the gas and just go to Wal-Mart?" MISTAKE. Somehow it still takes a million hours to get through this place. Some asiles are vertical, some are horizontal and the displays they have cutting an aisle in two are a big pain in the a** since it seems like if you shop at Wal-mart, you have to have a huge booty or a preference for leaving your cart diagonal in the aisle while you do whatever. They need to set the place up like Safeway - all vertical and wide enough to have two carts pass each other like ships in the night. It seems like everything at this Wal-Mart is compacted. Forget about trying to pass another cart. Your best option is to only buy what you can carry. Like items aren't always grouped together and there is a TON of stuff that needs to be put back in the area. The other reviewer who mentioned "a thong on a plate" wasn't joking. The place is a mess and it is dirty. For example - before they changed the store up, greeting cards, books and magazines used to be grouped together - now books and magazines are near the enterance by the bathrooms in what used to be the photo area, and the greeting cards are in the food asile next to the chips and salsa. Oh, and they carry like 4 magazines. (I guess they just want you to go to Borders next door.) Too much opened merchandise and too many customers who look like they need to be thrown in the looney bin rather than be allowed to shop. Apparently they haven't realized how to shop in stores - no leaving your cart, no laying in asiles (for real!) no eating food from packages, no painting your nails etc. The place is just a mad house. Because they have a million customers from GOD KNOWS WHERE (there is no way these people could live in Pleasanton - I can barely afford it here.) it would be beneficial for them to you know, open up more than 3 registers so you aren't 20 people deep per line. Another thing about the employees - even if you ask them where things are, you're not going to find it. This is because they either don't speak English, pretend to not speak English, or the place is such a freaking mad house with junk everywhere that they have no idea. Then there is the last option - they have no idea what the common item is or looks like. I've come here before and asked for help with finding a roasting pan - I ended up having to buy a $30 electric self roaster machine that I could fit a 4 year old in because they didn't have what I was looking for and didn't understand me. My god this place sucks. Bought a car battery online. Never received an email stating it was ready for pick up, but checked the status and it was ready. I don't shop at Walmart much anymore, but used to go to the one down in Poway pretty regularly and have been to the one in Martinez several times. This one is sad. I know it is a Walmart, but the Walmarts I have been to seem to be high efficiency, well organized places. Not this one. Everything is jumbled up and all over the place. Really, what it reminds me of is a super sized version of a Thrift shop. It is a Walmart so I can't expect too much with regards to quality, but the whole reason why we came to Walmart was we expected a lot more choice than what we found. Usually Walmart is one of the few places we can go to that we can reliably find items of a certain sort. In this case, we mainly came for Halloween costumes. We did find one for my son, but the selection was pretty sad. We ended up going to the Spirit store to find a costume for my daughter. We did leave with various, random items. They are so cheap.
