I want to give a shout out to the shop co-owner Ali for her hospitality. I saw these cute stickers with your birthday sign and thought of my daughter who knows everything about the meaning of your birthday sign. I couldn't remember my daughter's birthday sign and Ali was so kind to look it up for me. Ali also showed me a very cute luggage trinket she had not yet placed out. I bought both as stocking stuffers for my daughter. The shop is adorable and has a great selection of vintage clothing and vintage records. The clothes here are REALLY cute; they have a very Euro aesthetic and a casual/weekend feel. Lots of crinkling, ruching, buttons, patchwork appliques. A little like Oilily but at reasonable prices for what felt and looked like good quality. I was not able to make a purchase that day, but the saleswoman, Reina, was VERY sweet. Note: they are having some kind of trunk show/ladies' night on Sunday 7/29/12. 30% off the whole store, I believe! This shop seems like a good addition to the boutiques downtown.

Candles, shirts, the cutest belts and shoes you've ever seen--it was all so thoughtfully curated. They even hosted a special event I attended, and I vividly remember someone pouring wine outside. Anyone else remember that? I stopped by again today (I've been in many times over the years and made plenty of purchases), but this visit was especially meaningful. Seeing the third generation involved truly warmed my heart. Sherry and Dennis are absolute Livermore treasures. It's safe to say they may be one of the oldest stores downtown--and certainly one of the most beloved. What made this visit extra special was meeting their granddaughter, Kendell, who was working that day. She is a rare gem. Kendell is a wonderful young person and PHENOMENAL listener. She genuinely cares--something that's hard to find in retail these days. She's truly one of a kind. If you're looking for a cute belt, great shoes, a standout outfit, or the perfect pair of earrings, OR something else, I highly recommend Main Street Designs. I got some maxi g boots and ordered another pair. For the win. The shirt , cowboy hat and accessory selection is unmatched. Their sister store in Pleasanton closed a few years back. Stay away from this business…read more My wife consigned a designer two-piece outfit from Paris at A Dress Change. The outfit originally cost approximately $400 and had only been worn twice because it was too small. The consignment agreement was that it would be listed for $140, and if it did not sell within one year, the owner was supposed to contact my wife so she could decide whether to reduce the price, have it donated, or pick it up. We were never contacted. After 18 months, my wife called three separate times and left messages, but Jonni, the owner, who calls the shots never returned a single call. We then went to the store in person. The clerk, who was very kind and professional throughout this ordeal, initially told us the item had been donated. She wasn't able to confirm exactly what happened but promised she would have Jonni call us. Once again, Jonni never contacted us. When we returned to the store, we were told that the outfit had actually been sold and that we could pick up a check on Thursday. We came back on Thursday only to be told that Jonni writes checks on the third Friday of the month, so we had to wait another two weeks. We returned on the third Friday, and once again there was no check. The clerk was visibly upset and apologetic, saying the check would be available the following week. After multiple trips to the store, numerous unanswered phone calls, conflicting information about what happened to our merchandise, and months of frustration, we finally received a check for only $36. My biggest concern isn't the amount of money--it's the complete lack of communication and professionalism. We were never contacted as required by the agreement, our calls were ignored, we received contradictory explanations about whether the item had been donated or sold, and we had to repeatedly visit the store just to get answers. The clerk did everything she could, but the owner was essentially unreachable throughout the entire process. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend consigning valuable clothing here. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I believe businesses should honor their agreements and communicate honestly with their customers.

Chris is creative and does an amazing job of pulling things together in outfits. She really loves helping create options which I have no talent to do myself. She was so nice about it as well. They offer a very nice variety of high end clothes that are organized nicely, easy to find what you need, and very reasonably discounted.
