Fleet Feet has some cool shoes and gear, but I think the prices are high for what you're getting…read more The store does offer fitting tools and staff who can measure your feet and make recommendations, but in my experience, the tools are fairly "mid," and the knowledge base can be inconsistent. You may end up getting advice that's not much different from what you could find with a little research online, while relying on a sales associate with relatively limited training. I'd rather spend my money wisely: get footwear advice from qualified professionals such as running coaches, physical therapists, or doctors, then shop around for the best price at larger sporting-goods retailers that carry quality running shoes and gear and offer strong return policies. I also feel that there may have been some management turnover at this particular Fleet Feet. The service seemed noticeably better one or two years ago.

When I asked if she could kindly call the Hayward store to verify and ask if they could hold it for me, she flat out said no. I was shocked--the store was practically empty, with about five employees working and only three or four customers total. There was zero reason not to take two minutes to make a quick phone call. I walked out and called the Hayward store myself. Not only did they not have the shoe in stock, but when I asked the employee in Hayward if they normally call other stores to check stock for customers, she said yes, absolutely. I went back inside to speak with the manager and asked why his team refused to make a basic phone call for a customer. His facial expression showed complete indifference. It wasn't until after I brought the issue to his attention and complained that he finally picked up the landline to call around. Customer service here is extremely lacking. Employees seem unmotivated to do the bare minimum, and management only steps up after you call them out. I expect much better effort from a retail team.

I don't think her intention was bad but she had no awareness to how it could affect someone and even be hurtful. I'm updating my previous review because Abraham Baiza went above and beyond to make things right…read more During my first two stringing experiences, I unfortunately ran into quality issues, including one racquet that was missing a string. It was definitely frustrating, but Abraham took my concerns seriously from the beginning. He personally reached out, apologized, offered to restring my racquet free of charge, and even provided a gift card for the inconvenience. What impressed me the most was that he didn't just fix my racquet--he worked to improve the process. When I picked it up today, I noticed they now attach a label showing the string type, tension, date, and stringer. That tells me they're focused on preventing mistakes in the future, not just fixing one complaint. Every business can make mistakes, but not every manager takes ownership the way Abraham did. His professionalism, communication, and commitment to improving the customer experience earned my trust back. Thank you, Abraham, and the Sports Basement team. I'll definitely be back for future stringing and would recommend them to other tennis players.

As well as better quality since it's like a private owned business and not a public one. The service overall was good at this place as the employees were helpful with guiding us to find stuff we were looking for. As well as helping my brother find a new bike for him to ride after his old one fell apart. When it comes to value that is where the problems set in as to why I am giving this place a 4/5. Lot of the stuff in this store is expensive and I do mean EXPENSIVE. It could be close to like 120 dollars for a pair of shoes which seems to be way more than most other retailers. And most of the other equipment could range up to 200-300 dollars as well which can make it frustrating to figure out what to spend your money on depending on the need. At least the store has plenty of equipment to choose from, as well as a range for you test stuff out and other useful features for equipment you want to rent. But I would only go here as a last resort if you can't go to a Dick's or find good pricing.

First, by the time I found the store, I had no energy to look for myself. I walked for over an hour. Second, I called their number and was put into voice mail HE double hockey sticks. Not pleasant. I just wanted to talk to someone to see if the store was still there. And third, this is the smallest Famous Footwear that I've seen, so it's possible that they may not have as many shoes as other stores. My husband was able to go through and get the shoes that he was looking for. Someone helped him and they were totally nice about it. I can't say that I'd want to come back because the trip to find them took place halfway to a location and halfway back. That much walking wasn't something that I was looking forward to doing. But they had the shoes and that was a good thing, so they get the three stars.
