But then I go to find out that it is not a store open to the public. *Unstoked*. But rather this is a Company Employee Store. Meaning a company or place of employment has to sign up with them (not really sure what that entails), then with a code/invite, the employees of said company can now enter the store and shop to one's content. I go to find out that my work gets involved in this annually, so I finally get a chance to scope it out. You have to bring the invite (a flyer for us with a code) and some proof of employment (a work badge for me). It is kind of a run-around but there is a benefit to all this. There are 3 glaring benefits from my perspective. 1. Being invite only and not open to the general public, the place is not crowded and cluttered. Very clean racks and displays. 2. Lots of legit inventory, so not a mish-mash of odd sizes and discontinued styles like factory stores. Felt like a kid in a candy store. Quite organized too, easy to find designated sections. 3. There are perceived deals/values here. Now I will point out that the brands sold here ie Columbia, Prana, Sorel etc are premium brand names and are usually not cheap. I actually find a full priced item to be borderline insane/expensive. Any Columbia gear I own are either gifts or things I got on some sort of sale/discount. Here at this store everything inside is 40% off (taken at the register). And even some items with certain highlighted tags, may be discounted even further to say 50-60%. A much better deal considering the quality. And after I went through their register to complete my sale, I was given another pass (good for 3 other guest too) to shop within the next 30 days. And there was a coupon attached where $20 can be taken off if spending reaches $100 (pretty darn easy to do). So another 20% off. They know how to market cuz ya know I want to come back for that. All things I restrained myself from getting on this last trip...will just wait til the next out. Bet!

Purely fashionable with no support and uncomfortable in all kinds of areas. She identified my left foot is both half a size smaller and more sensitive. She gave me a half sole insert with an arch to create more support. Then to reduce the discomfort on the top of my shoe, she stuck this half ball thing on top of the sole insert. Then after seeing I was feeling it protuberate, she moved the half ball thing on the bottom side of the sole insert. She even cut a part of it off with scissors to reduce how much it stuck out. Then she used Velcro to keep the insert in place. Wow I got a whole new pair of shoes. She even said "now you have new shoes". It cost more than I was planning to spend but so worth it. I'll be coming back with any of my shoe problems, and I'll surely be wearing my Dr Martins a whole lot more. FYI - they moved to Irvington area, they're not in warm springs snymore

I was playing around with getting something different for a jogging shoe or workout shoe. AirMax seems very comfortable but thought it was a bit too much like walking on marshmallows. Tried to look for some training shoes or some other skateboard shoes that were made of either premium leather or fabric toe boxes. There are so many options but I'm so used to a specific look and feel. I will try to come back and look more at all the options. I found the place to be very welcoming and great for touching all the different options.

I had only tried them on inside my house for about 30 seconds, but when I brought them back, the store manager immediately refused the return. He looked at the bottom of the shoes and claimed I had worn them outside just because there were a few tiny pieces stuck in the sole. I explained that it was cat litter from my floor, not dirt or rocks, but he didn't care. What made it worse is that he didn't even ask to see my receipt -- just jumped to conclusions and treated me like I was trying to return used shoes. The shoes were basically brand new, and I followed all the return conditions. The manager was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. For a store that sells premium shoes, you'd expect way better customer service -- especially for a return within the same day. Won't be shopping at Shoe Palace again. Do better.
