    Black Florsheim dress shoes shined
    Gerald R.

HIGH SCHOOL REUNION SHINE When I went to the Men's Wearhouse to buy an attire for my high school reunion one of the sales associates recommended either a black dress shoe or casual shoe with my attire. I looked at the black casual shoe, which I preferred over the black dress shoe. I also liked the price. However I wasn't sure how often I would wear the black casual shoe. At home I had a pair of black dress shoe and black casual shoe. Instead of buying a pair of casual shoes from the Men's Wearhouse I brought these pairs to A-1 Shoe Repair for shoe shining. I went here about one week about my high school reunion. When I asked about my black Florsheim dress shoe if I can add a heel protector, Randall stated due to the condition of the heel he would need to insert a new heel that costs $15, which I didn't want to pay. I then asked him how much for a shoe shine for both pairs of shoes. He said $40, which is less than a pair of casual shoes I was interested at the Men's Wearhouse. I dropped off my pair of shoes. The day before the reunion I picked my two pairs of shoes. I liked the shine on both shoes. I think overall the shine on the Florsheim stood out more. I decided to wear the black Florsheim dress shoes for the reunion not because of the shine but I felt those shoes were more comfortable to wear than the black Nike casual shoes. Overall I'm glad I came to A-1 Shoe Repair for a shoe shine for my two pairs of shoes.

    Heel replacement- nicely done

I needed a boots heels to be replaced. There's not many shoe repair around that does a good job. So I came here and dropped off a lot of my boots yhat the heel (8 pairs) was worn out and some scuffs on the tip of the boots. Randall the owner said it would take 2 weeks . He called me a week and half later and when I went to pick it up- OMG! I was so impressed by Randall's work. The heels were replaced nicely and on top of that he shined my leather boots! I was satisfied with my work especially when you love your shoes and don't want to get rid of it bc it still has some life to go. Also, I had a really bad scuff on the tip of my mauve color boots and he said he tried to polish with a similar color but boy! It doesn't look noticeable at all. He was able to cover it. I will come back and bring my other shoes too.m because Randall's work is very detailed. Thank you!

This my son's review: we brought my cowboy boots which were just trashed, the sole was falling off, and the heel was grinded down. I thought we might've had to buy new ones. We took them to A-1 shoe repair and Randall got the boots fixed better than when new. Great service and very friendly. He also setup up us (no push we asked) with polish & brush for maintenance. He's my goto shop. Brenton.

Randall put double neoprene heels and soles on a pair of Justin boots for me. That was 6 years ago and I still wear them every.

Heel tip replaced. $15 cash only.

If you like wearing stilettos like me and wear your favorite pair to the ground, you can extend the life by coming here. I've been coming here for years to replace the heel tips. Mr. Randall is very professional. I've even had next day service if I needed it. He's also very honest. I asked him about repairing my LV and he recommended I go straight to them instead for workmanship. Last time I went it was $15 for heel tip review. Cash only. It's a lot cheaper than me buying a new pair of shoes. Especially when it's a pair that is well broken into and comfortable.

(aka Union City) I finally had the time to check this place out on my lunch break - given, I was in an instant desire to let go & get my hands off of some fresh kicks (Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred ReImagined - sz 10), that I had bought over a ShockDrop from their Nike SNKRS app hat my homie hooked up for me not too long ago! Don't let that person know, tho! (cuz I will find out! Haha JK) I used to be somewhat 'so much' involved in the shoe game / hypebeast lifestyle growing up.. I remember so much back in high school, with my part-time job in the library shelving books, yet I'd fork over almost my entire paycheck to get some J's... but then, it sorta just stopped once I graduated high school & went to college - up 'til I was gettin' into my early twenties, and had phased out of it & moved on to 'grown man shoes', as my best friend would say back in the day not too many years back. Like a saying I once heard in my teens, you gotta know where to "deal with the real" AND having done a smooth transaction with Kyle Goudie (the proprietor of this humble abode of a buy/sell/consignment shop) was definitely a foreal, foreal REAL one! Honest, Legit, and Transparent. Thank you for being friendly & patient - especially for someone like me not having a peer-to-peer mobile payment app that allows users to easily transfer funds from a linked financial institution account to another recipient - I did have PayPal, tho! Haha. I originally bought the shoes at a higher price & offered the , but I wasn't trippin' out since it was only a few dollars difference - and with my side hustle as a musician - can't complain to be 'too blessed to be stressed'. #mindfulmatters I definitely recommend ya'll check this local business when you find yourselves on this side of the East Bay!! Don't say I didn't warn you! Once in awhile, you'll find yourselves craving for some fresh kicks, just wanting to browse on some vintage apparel & footwear & other knick knacks, and/or even getting yourself donned in what's "in" to be "it", cuz you know you just can't stay away from being & looking "fit"!

When working in the city I would sometimes drop them of at places there just for convenience but nothing as good as The Cobblers. Not only a shoe repair place but a store for boots, work boots, hats, coats etc. I even stock up on Shoe Goo here for my Merrill running shoes with the sole that can't be replaced but was told it would be more expensive if they did it so just get the Shoe Goo. This place has been around since the late 50's and run by the same family.  Shoe repair is an art that won't get taken over by AI. The only thing that will put a place like this out of business is disposable shoes and clothes.  We are not there yet for the nice stuff. I sent a memo to the vendor on Etsy but I also looked up zipper repairs. The closest was Village Cobbler. I went the next day. I expected to have to leave the jacket for a week but I wanted it fixed. Solag looked at it...and, as he was chattering away with me about our middle eastern roots he grabbed some tools from the basket on his counter and just fixed it! I asked him how much, he just shrugged it off. I had to force him to accept $20. I left a happy man. The next day it happened again. But this time I saw what happened and figured out the fail point. I took it back to Solag and showed him. Told him I wanted him to put two snaps down at the bottom of the zipper to transfer the load. He complimented me on my problem solving and once again just dug right in and fixed it while I waited. Had me come into the back with him so we could talk and I could hold it while he worked on it. He was a complete joy to spend time with. Not only did he fix my jacket, while I waited, but I made a friend. Once again I had to force $50 on him. A wonderful, wonderful man. My jacket has been problem free since then. I would happily give him five stars at the very least. I had the kind of experience which is all too rare these days.
