This place is really cool. Lots of antiques and stuff I never thought I'd see in person. The pricing on a lot of stuff is actually really reasonable as well. There are tons of old photos and packaging and it's really like a blast to the past. I've never seen anything quite like this place, I could have easily spent 2 hours just looking and digging through everything. This is a great place to spend some time if you're bored on a weekend! I'm not sure what purposes people would buy this stuff for, but I feel like if I were doing an art project or collecting stuff like this, it would be a treasure trove. Super fun Vintage Toys. Not a thrift store, so don't expect cheap items. Very cool place to explore.

Vintage toys and eclectic items are guaranteed to be found here. The pricing on most items are also reasonable. Last time I brought my partner with me, he was obsessing over the old records they had for sale. He purchased a Batman themed one for only $9.99. Although, there are a lot of items without a price tag. You will have to ask the cashier about this, but the workers are friendly. They are not shy about striking up a conversation with you. The place is also rather messy. Items are laid out everywhere, and you will need to take your time to go through them all. Luckily, most items tend to be bunched together. For example, if you find a pin then it will be grouped together with other pins. Although, plushies and figures were mainly scattered about. Overall, it is always a pleasant experience here. I enjoy collecting figures and pins so this place is a must-stop when in Niles. In comparison to the other antique stores at Niles, this one always stands out to me since it focuses more on toys and other collectible goods. It is a refreshing change of scenery from the usual antique shops that cater to vintage furniture. read more

Have been looking forward to checking out this place for awhile but struggled to make it during its business hours posted. Finally had the opportunity to go check it out left early to drive over from San Jose. Got there during its business hours, door was open and open sign was displayed. As I walked up, worker carrying boxes out said "We're closed!" w/ no explanation as to why. Would have understood if something came up and they had to close early. I'm not sure if business hours are more hit or miss, or customers lean more towards people casually walking by. But definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

Bald guy with the long sideburns, supposedly he one of the owners. If I were you, don't go to this store. While all the things they have might be ok from an antique point of view, selling or buying is not ok. Especially the bald guy with the sideburns. His mentality is something of a 1890 slow, one sighted child with the limited knowledge of green army men toys and that's about it. If you're selling, I would make a trip to concord, there is a store that respects you, your collection and time. The other young owner who left, was way better at this then the last stooges who remain. Don't go here to buy or sell. They are struggling, which is why the other owner probably left. Not good doing so called "business " with folks that dont have knowledge but relying on Google for every answer. And reading some of these negative reviews shows exactly what I was going through. Just rude AF over collectibles. read more

Used to really enjoy coming to mantiques, they have a ton of vintage toys/trinkets. SO much good stuff to look through. But the guys working there were very ~rude~ to and were not friendly at all. Big turn off b/c they were just so blunt, bad service. read more

In a nutshell I would describe this place as a "man's cave" Figurines, posters, action dolls, antiques, toys galore, etc. If you're in the area, I suggest you check this place out! It's an adults dream lots of good stuff. I got the deja vu ambience from the 70's show with the smell of weed to boot. Just think about what I'm saying. What kind of people working there. My family and I entered the store. One of the guys saw me wearing a Selena shirt on. He was talking about how he saw her preform in San Jose back in the day. He kind of had a day dream moment in front of me. Started to flirt real bad in front of my husband. I was starting to feel uncomfortable at that point. I saw dancing hearts around his head. My husband saw a Sonny Bono and Cher dolls sold separately. But asked how much for both. The older guy said $75.00 for both of them. My hubby really wanted to buy it for me. But I had to think about it. I declined the offer. Meanwhile the other dude was still having his moment of "Anything for Selena's". I hope she will buy those dolls sorta thing. I left the store with my husband behind so he can go through the store without me. Minus one star for the flirting. read more

Actually I believe it's called The General Store. What an adventure! Honestly, anyone who was ever once a kid, will have fun in this store. And if you were never a kid, then you can go down the street to the Florence and get some liquid counsel. But this place is truly fantastic. There is SO MUCH great stuff, crammed on every single shelf , that you can't really see it all. You can literally be there all day long. Weird stuff that when you see it, it really brings you down memory lane, in the best way possible. All through toys! I brought my grandson there a year ago. And when I asked him where he wanted to go on a particular Saturday, he said he wanted to go back to that old toy place. And everyone there, super friendly. The owner, I can't remember his name, but the guy in dreadlocks. He is so giving. His passion for toys is beautiful, and he just loves when people have fun in his store. Every time I go there, he gives me a free toy. Sadly, Toys r us is gone, but this place will live on. Nothing else like it. It's just a wonderful experience for the young and old. read more

This store is not for the minimalists. If you're into vintage toys and ephemera, this is your honey hole. The best store on Niles (tied with Needle to the Groove Records). A treasure trove of nostalgia. Super friendly staff, one of a kind selections. Good pricing. Husband and I always leave with a pile o' stuff. I woke up this morning and the first thing I saw on facebook was a picture of a goat head posted by Mantiques. Being a girl who has been looking for a goat head for a very long time, I knew I had to get down there. Almost lost out on it to another interested shopper but, lucky me, the goat is now "living" in my dining room and I'm so happy I could burst! I've been in a couple of times and I seriously love this place. The owner is super friendly and there is always something new, weird and interesting to check out. This is not your average antique store, which is great because it is swimming in a sea of average antique stores, being located on the main street of Niles. I have been in every shop there and was given funny looks and treated to smug attitudes. Not at Mantiques! Sure, there aren't price tags on anything but if you ask you'll generally like what you hear. Extremely reasonable! I should know since I have visited hundreds of antique and collectibles shops over the years. They're also open to wheeling and dealing if you buy a few things, plus you get to hear some interesting stories about where or how the item you're interested in was acquired. We even got some help carrying our purchases to the car. It's the personal touches that make any business stand out and Mantiques has that. When I heard Mantiques was opening, I (like most people) wondered if our fair hamlet could accommodate another antique store. I'm happy to report that it can! Joseph, the owner is an awesome guy. He's super chill. As the name would suggest, it's antique store for the guy in your life. But it's more than just a spot offering respite from the estrogen riddled fluffiness and lace of Niles. (I'm not dissing lacy froth, by the way.) It's also the sort of place that you could hang out, look over retro girly mags and talk to the owner. And that's a niche Niles hadn't filled yet! Its location near the Florence is pretty fitting! An added bonus is that its near Switch designer consignment. Now the husbands and boyfriends have something to do with their waiting time! The score obtained from Mantiques on the last visit was super unique push-tin lamp with a geometric shape. It's a true compliment to the stylish man's cave. The shop is a little bit clutter-y and it can take some browsing to ferret out your treasure. But, it's in a good way. :o) read more

I found this place through OfferUp I seen a Chevrolet light that I really liked the owner had said it works in lights up sent me a picture everything worked fine I stop by the shop ended up spending a lot more money than I went there to spend supporting their small business in purchasing some cool things after getting home I plugged in my light next to all my other lights in my garage and this item did not work as he said it in I gave him the benefit of the doubt sent him a message letting him know that the light does not work he had let me know no returns the light work before it went out although I took his word for it and didn't plug it in before I purchased it this place is pretty much bad business for me and I do not recommend buying anything from them. They basically lied to make a sale. After a day of antiquing with my parents off of Niles, we drove by Mantiques...I knew for sure Jason J would love this place. We went there the next day and I was right, he loved it. It is what it says, an Antique store for Men...sort of...I did find a yarn swift there...so, definitely not just for men. But they do have lots of cool and interesting things. Unfortunately, there is no price on anything...the price tags are all in the mind of the owner. You show him the item, you ask him, "how much?" and bam...there you go...price tag. The owner, is real accommodating and friendly. You'll sometimes see a group of men standing in front of the store talking or hanging out...it's that type of place. Real cool folks in this store to help you out. They even have vintage magazines, mostly for men...Maxim and I believe Playboy...I could be wrong. Mantiques is definitely a place where you'll need to dig for your treasure, but he does have some great stuff here. Never always the same and always changing...check it out. read more

Personally I think this is the greatest antique shop of all on Niles past and present. Amazing variety and selection of nostalgic memories. I went hunting for vintage A's pins and came away with the best find in years. An A's fisherman hat covered in pins, most of which I've never seen in person. The guys are great and super helpful. Mike, Nic Ceaser, and Joe are all stand up guys... they pick awesome stuff and you never know what you'll find day to day. Don't bother with any other toy stores in Fremont, Mantiques is the place to visit! Yes, some of the stuff is random, curious, and downright weird.
