This place is amazing. I bought a couple pairs of running shoes from this store about 6 months ago and both pairs still feel great. My mom wanted a nice pair of walking shoes and I told her this was the best place to go. The young man helping us (Milan) was super nice, super knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. For context, I came here 2 years ago and worked with a great associate. He was a run coach for a local high school and got me started on my running journey. Now, I return looking for advice in regards to shoes and marathon prepping. I had a very nice associate this time again but they had never ran a marathon nor did they actually run. The other reps maybe did track? I came on the weekend so I waited over an hour to be seen. I did request training advice when I checked in. I left not accomplishing what I hoped for Overall, I was disappointed. Nice staff though and goodrunning accessories. They don't carry nikes. I guess you may need to get lucky on who you talk to in regards to your goals out of the visit. read more

Fleet Feet has been around for a long time--a running store fixture on Main Street with a strong following. I was pretty surprised by the weak client service here. After waiting for a text on my phone for about 25 minutes for a "fitting," I met with the salesperson. He didn't fit me at all--didn't use the foot measurer or watch my walk or whatever. He asked for my size and what types of shoe I needed and proceeded to drop a stack of shoes next to me to lace, and try on completely on my own. He went to help other customers and would occasionally come back to ask me how "they feel". I could get that same level of service at DSW. The shoes were about $40 more than they were on the Hoka website. I really don't mind paying a premium for service but I got none. Not impressed, Fleet Feet. read more

I've rarely taken the time to write a negative review unless I had a very unpleasant experience. :( We drove out of the way to get here. Came into this store around 6pm today, excited to bring my fiancé to buy a pair of shoes for some upcoming travels. We had an idea already of what to buy. We walked in, and there are 3 employees helping out customers, and 1 other customer who seemed to be waiting a while. No employee acknowledged us, no one glanced our way, no one asked if we needed help. We were thinking maybe there was an employee working in the back or something, so we waited for a while if someone would come out to help us just to try out a size. No one. We didn't come in expecting the full shoe fitting service. We literally just wanted to try on a pair of shoes, buy them, & leave. We kept glancing at the employee closest to us, but he ignored us until we finally butt in to ask if there was anyone who can help us & we just want to try out a size. He had this annoyed expression/attitude like we were intruding, which I understand because he was helping a customer, BUT the customer was occupied with putting on some shoes. He said "There are only 3 of us on the floor. You can sign up on the waitlist." I emphasized that we just wanna quickly try on ONE pair of shoes & not do a fitting. He said to my fiancé in a condescending tone, "Do you know what size shoe you are? Do you know what shoe you want?" ...I mean. Come on, the shoe size question? What kind of question is that? LOL Unbelievable. We were dumbfounded, I almost laughed out loud in disbelief. We told him the size and the shoe, and he told us he'd grab them in a few minutes. We wait, he gives us the shoes while he grabbed shoes for the customer he was assigned to. After my fiancé tried the shoes on, which he really liked, we realized no one would probably help ring us up at the cash register. I joked, "Would we have to join the waitlist to check out?" That was probably the answer. We left the shoes and headed out. We can buy shoes anywhere else. I understand that there are appointments to get the proper fitting service they offer. BUT, wouldn't it make sense to have at least ONE employee who's NOT taking care of the appointments, & who can ring people up, quickly grab some shoes for customers to try, and welcome people in, etc? This experience left such a sour taste in our mouths. I've been to this store one other time in January and had an awesome experience booking a fitting appointment. Went home with a new pair of running shoes & was raving about this place to friends & family. Looks like you'd only have that 5 star experience if you book an appointment. I've tried other stores in this category, and there's no beating the experience you get at Fleet Feet. * The minute you walk in, you are greeted, have your contact info taken, and put on their list. There's almost always a wait, but you're given an estimate of how long the wait could be and informed you'll receive a text message when you get towards the top of the list. This allows you to wander a little bit in downtown Pleasanton if you'd like. We were told our wait was 20 minutes. It ended up being only 10 minutes. Never made it out of the store. Score: 5/5 * While we were waiting, we looked at their shoe selection. TBH, it's limited to a handful of key brands. Other stores I've been to have many more brands, which then results in many more shoe options to choose from. Score: 4/5 * Expect to pay full price for everything. Discounts come as part of their loyalty program. Running shoes $160-$200. Inserts $55. Unless you shop here a lot, you're lucky to get a $10 coupon. Score: 4/5 * Foot and walk scanning helps analyze the dimensions of your foot and how you walk, and allows the sales person to find the right shoes for you. It is saved under the email address you checked in with. If you have multiple people in your group, everyone's foot scan is recorded here. They also email a copy of the report (Volumental service) to the email on file. Unfortunately, this is where it's inconvenient. If you have two people getting their feet scanned, it's registered under one email. Only the first person who gets scanned can see their scan from home. The second person's scans aren't available. (Fleet Feet can get around this by making it one scan per email - just a procedure change, but it'll take a little more time. May be worth it for a better service for everyone shopping.) Score: 4/5 * Personal Service: This is where Fleet Feet excels. Once you are working with someone, they stay with you the entire time. They size and scan you, answer as many questions as you have, get as many shoes as you want to try on, get and cut inserts, and ring you up. Not once did we feel ignored or pressured in any fashion. Not once did he leave us to tend to someone else. There were two of us, and our guy spent just a little over an hour with us, working with us at our pace. Score: 6/5. I wanted to get a pair of shoes that would help me walk and jog at the same time. This place will help you evaluate your feet. They also analyze how you walk and where the pressure is coming from the bottom of your feet. The store highly recommends that you get an appointment to get your feet for fitting and size. It takes at least 30 minutes for them to get your feet analyzed and fitted. I called the day before and since I didn't get a schedule, I was told to come in early and they take a walk in. I arrived at 11 am during their opening time. I was immediately evaluated on my feet. Matthew was very professional. He guided me on having my feet evaluated and analyzed. He showed me an electronic report and suggested the right shoes for me. After trying several shoe brands and sizes, I opted for Asics running shoes with cushions. I liked this brand because it snugged my feet and was comfortable i still have to try walking and running. Matthew didn't pressure me to buy a particular brand or size. He made it clear that the shoe I got would satisfy me and feel right for my feet. If you're pursuing a sport that involves a lot of walking or running, I suggest you come to this place and have your feet analyzed and fitted. It will be good for your feet and avoid any injuries or discomfort on your feet. read more

Service is absolutely ridiculous. They keep pushing my review to the bottom so potential customers can't see the truth vs what their friends are posting. Obviously selling used shoes here, which I found out by an accident slip by a young man that works here when I came in simply trying to get suggestions on best way to care for my $200 shoes. Now the right shoe appears to be over worn and very uncomfortable. When things initially started seeming shady, I called multiple times and my call was never returned. When I went in to ask why, I was met with coldness and blank stares, with monotone responses. Definitely wouldn't recommend and because of this experience and lack of concern from mgmt I'll be spending time on the public sidewalk in front of the store, informing potential customers of my experience. read more

Anyways - so there's parking right beside the store as well as street parking. There's a Keurig/beverage area too for the folks waiting. Setting up an appointment online was easy pz. If you don't have an appointment, you sign in on the iPad. There's a tv screen like at the dmv where you can see where you are in the queue of people. Elliot was super friendly and funny. The scan and the gait analysis are pretty cool and you have access to it when you create an online account. Elliot picked some great insoles and socks for me and also brought out a variety of shoes to ensure that I was making the best and most comfortable selection. There's also an area where you can jog back and forth to test the shoes in action. Loved this. Ended up leaving without buying anything because it was hard to get help since without an appointment for a shoe fitting. I would come again, but not without scheduling an appointment. The person assisting us was helpful, knew their stuff, and made sure my wife found the perfect fit after trying a bunch of pairs. Their expertise made the selection process a breeze. I was diagnosed with Runner's Knees after I started jogging. In addition to Physical Therapy, I wanted to make sure I had properly fitting shoes. I had some cheap-ass shoes before because I'm frugal. I thought they would analyze my gait, but instead they took a three dimensional scan of my feet. Which was super cool. Turns out I have high arches, which would contribute to my problem without proper support. Jason helped me out, and was very patient with me. Now I have some decidedly not cheap Brooks, and an arch insert. I waited a month or so to write the review, to make sure everything is working out. It is! Hubby and I ran back to the store where we were greeted by Kyle who welcomed us and went to business on asking us what we were looking for etc. He instructed hubby to remove his shoes and to follow him to a device that checks your feet, then proceeded him to walk a couple of times on a black mat. The worst after sales service I have ever experienced from an upscale store. You spend crazy amount to buy shoes and if there is any problem, they just ask you to go to manufacture. I purchased ON shoes from this store for $200 and it started squeaking in less than 3 months. Went to store back and I was asked to contact manufacturer. The manufacturer honored warranty and gave me gift card. Went to store to buy another pair of ON shoes but guess what! They don't accept ON coupons!! They only honor store coupons. I came here after having one of my legs amputated. I needed two custom shoes: one for my foot and one for the peg leg. The shoes would be drastically different shapes and sizes, but I wanted the same colors and patterns on them. After visiting what felt like countless shoe stores to find such a custom pair, I felt hopeless and lost. I drove my car until I ran out of gas - I looked up and happened to be in front of Fleetfeet in Pleasanton. The employees here gave me the nickname Captain Hook even though I told them he actually had both of his legs. He was only missing one hand, which he replaced with a hook. Either way it was a fun nickname and I really enjoyed the sense of camaraderie it gave me. After a few hopping contests we started talking about shoes, and we explored some options for my very specific needs. They used the scanner to create a 3D rendering of my peg leg and also of my real foot. I had them send me the image files for a movie poster I am working on. I spent a while falling around in various ASICS and Skechers before finally deciding my problem was the socks I was wearing. Luckily there was a wide variety to choose from here and I found a pair that complements my wooden leg well, and I'm opting to wear a tennis ball on the bottom because they are so easy to wash and I often find them laying around at the park. Overall, I hope others have the same experience as me here. Feel welcome, embrace your self improvement, establish community. That's what Fleetfeet means to me after going just one time. My first time going into a Fleet Feet store, I was excited to finally get a fitting since my parents have had a good experience. But unfortunately for me it was different. First off, I walked in and not one of the 3 workers acknowledged me. (During my wait time others walked in and got greeted.) So I was a little confused at first as you would when you walk in anywhere for the first place. So I check in and I'm second in line. I waited for 50 mins and once it was my turn the woman looks at my feet and said "oh you have small feet, what size are you?" I tell her and she tells me that the smallest size they carry is a 6.5 which wouldn't work since I was a size 6. I was pretty sad that I waited so long for her to tell me this, and didn't get the fitting experience I was hoping to get. It's been awhile (pre-COVID) since I last came here. I remember the experience being enjoyable and effective, which is why I made the relatively long drive to come here vs. stores closer to home. Sure enough, the process was just as good and I came away happy with my purchase! Their outfitting process provides lots of good data about how I walk and they do a good job of explaining the results. There ended up being three options to choose from that all felt good but were clearly different. It made me feel very good about my choice. The lady who helped me was nice, courteous, and knowledgeable. I overheard the other guy working and he seemed equally proficient. I would've been happy with whomever served me. Make sure you get on the wait list before driving over! The outfitting process takes awhile per person so you could end up being there for an hour or more if there are a few people ahead of you. If you ended up in this situation, go check out the rest of downtown Pleasanton though. There are lots of shops to suck up the time. I'll definitely be coming back to buy replacement shoes from here. I visited the place today, along with my wife. She needed a specific kind of shoes, because of an injury in one foot. The place was moderately crowded, and we were told to check in and wait. We could see that the staff was helping other customers, to the best of their ability. Our sales guy (forgot his name, but deserves a pat on his back) spent good amount of time with us, understanding the specifics of her needs. Then he took some measurements on a sophisticated electronic equipment. He then showed her a number of pairs of shoes, until she was completely satisfied. He also gave her some tips for choosing socks, in order to make it more comfortable. I checked the prices of the shoes we bought, on other outlets. I have been buying athletic shoes here for years, since my oldest ran cross country in high school. They do a great job fitting shoes, not just to your foot size but to your stride. They make sure you have the best shoe for what you are using it for. I was told by my doctor to try Hoka. They have a good selection and I have always found the right size.
