I purchased a handbag from Flaunt online. Unfortunately the handbag was lost in the mail. I contacted Flaunt and they said they are not responsible for anything that is lost or damaged in the mail. I understand that. However, when I filed a claim with USPS they would only refund me $100 because Flaunt did not pay for insurance for the handbag. Had lunch with my friend yesterday in Danville. We decided to do some shopping. I normally shop in Walnut Creek, San Jose, and SF back when Union Square was still the place to enjoy shopping. Danville has some cute boutique stores, which I love. The store has some great selection. But I agree with most of the reviews, not a warm and friendly reception from the ladies that works there. I bought some tops that fit really well, so even with the negative vibe, I still decided to spend my money there. BUT, would I go back there? NO.. I love shopping and part of the experience is getting a great, friendly customer service. I would happily spend money somewhere else. When it was time to pay, one of the ladies ask me if I'm in their mailing address? I said No. I already knew I wasn't going to shop there again, so why bother? On the other hand, shop at Ella J next door was great! What a contrast in terms of how you feel the minute you walk in the store! What a difference in the vibe! This store is super nice but the customer service is HORRIBLE!!! I received a gift card from a friend and I decided to go there and use it...I walked in and I was not acknowledged until I had to ask for a dressing room!!! The girl acted annoyed and opened the dressing room door...I purchased a shirt and it didn't work out so i had to return it. They do not give refunds only store credit...why would I want to shop here when I can buy the same stuff at Nordstom & get a full refund?! I then come back a year later and try to use my credit...well you only have one year to use store credit and I was a week late...so the sales associate says too bad and I was outta luck!!! Imagine my surprise while strolling the surprisingly dead streets of Danville on a summer Sunday afternoon - to come upon a handful of chic boutiques! In Danville?? Oh yes... Danville has grown up apparently at the same rate I have!! I remember when the only reason I'd walk down this street was to buy sour watermelons at Father Nature's Shed (*sniff* the candy & trinkets shop is no more and is now a stylish Asian themed decor boutique). *shaking my head out of the clouds* Back to my review... after recovering from the shock of seeing designer boutiques in Danville - I entered and started browsing. So gosh... if you don't want to drive the roughly 10 miles to the closest Nordies you can stay in Danville for all the designer denim you could want: Citizens of Humanity, True Religion, Joe's Jeans, Paige and so much more I can't even recall. While Mom "aiya-ed" at a $200 dress, I tried to not let on that I was familiar with the designer threads I was browsing. Wouldn't want those "aiyas" directed at me instead of the 'crazy fashion industry'. (I didn't leave the price-tag of my Rock & Republics somewhere she'd ever see it right? ... don't want to get a lecture...) This store was very bright, very large, very modern and full of teenage girls with way too much money. *sigh* Danville... Get past the "I wonder what her dad does" and it's a nice place to buy some cute boutique-y wares. The last couple of times I've been there, almost the entire left section of the store was outdated sales items and there wasn't any new merchandise from the previous time that I had been there (several months prior). I love this little boutique. It's tucked away in Downtown Danville, and though the prices are high they sell name brands such as Lacoste, Ella Moss, C & C, tc... Everything is designer and has its own little place. The dressing rooms are big and spacious, and nicely decorated. They also sell jewelry and shoes. I even scored a Lacoste polo for 50% off so be sure to check the sale racks! There are a lot of good finds. Hard to believe, I know, but there are many times I have walked into Nordstrom's in Walnut creek and not even been able to find such a wide variety of labels as this store. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was ignored because I am not a certain ethnicity. Meanwhile, another shopper walks in and gets a warm greeting. And this was not the first time, it was the third time. Why did I return? Because the entire store was on sale and they claimed to have a special night with food and wine. Well, they had a bottle of wine and their idea of food was a bowl of candy. I purchased something and didn't even get a thank you at the end of the transaction. She handed me the bag and said nothing. It isn't only the employees that have this better than thou attitude, the actual owner is the biggest snob of them all. When I didn't even get a thank you, it was the final straw. I don't care what color my skin is, if I want to browse, buy, window shop, try on a bunch of things and buy nothing, I should be given the same service as the next person. I can't believe how ignorant some people are. Don't go to this store, it's tough to find parking, everything is expensive and you can find the same stuff at Nordstrom. Flaunt is an adorable shop with cutting-edge fashion. The owner is really good at sizing you up and finding just the right fit for you that's flattering. She is serious about what she does and very sweet. I trust her completely to choose clothes for me. I know there has been a theft problem in the last little while and she has had to be more vigilant in watching her merchandise and her merchants.
