Then I asked if they could contact their Lafayette store to check whether they had a skirt I liked in a smaller size, and it felt like even that was too much trouble. I also spoke with the assistant manager about the service, but I can't say her attitude was much better. What made it even more frustrating was that this happened on a Saturday afternoon, and the store was practically empty. You would think they would want to take the time to help loyal customers. To be fair, I have shopped at McCaulou's many, many times, and this was the first time I had such a negative experience. Still, it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and made me reconsider spending my money there. In this economy, with so many shopping options nearby in Walnut Creek, customer service matters.
