Can't believe I haven't reviewed this location yet! 5 stars for location- it's literally 6-7 minutes from me. 4 stars for their selection. 5 stars for customer service. 4 stars for their prices. I've been a Maxinista sine before this location even opened up in Livermore. Tj Maxx is like the classier version of Ross, just like Target is the classier version of Walmart. Funny how they both choose red and blue to represent their business. This store has the best prices for high-quality jeans that you will ever find, but wait! There's more! Sports apparel? They've got it. Makeup? They've got it. Chocolate for your chocolate fix? You bet they've got that. When I walked in today, the LAST THING I expected to find was the coveted SJ Sharks women's cut jacket. THEY HAD IT, and it was only $16.99. At the mall, that kind of jacket would be $30+ easily. Not only that, but I walked out with 2 excellent, spankin' new skinny jeans. I love this store so much. read more

I like shopping at TJ Maxx especially when I felt like just browsing store is basically OK. Dublin is better. My main concern is the toy section. They really need to have signs stating it is not a playground parents let their kids sit there and play with everything and then it's ruined for people to buy. It's unbelievable. How many parents allow their children to play and open things, but the store needs to crack down on it. Probably why Dublin doesn't have too many toys, but they love her more was ridiculous. Love TJ Maxx, but who ever the store manager is should know there were two employees at the register (Monday 3/10 around 12:30) that were talking major crap about other employees in front of me. Something about a certain employee was not in charge and is just a nobody and they don't have to listen to them. Not a good look. read more

This store location is horrible! I was looking forward to shopping for some holiday wear, but the smell of body odor going through the entire store was unbearable. I could tell there were hardly any cashiers and knew I wouldn't make it through an actual purchase with the smell. This store needs deep cleaning! Will not return. read more

Not good customer service and the store is disorganized. They refuse to make correct price tags for items and just make it based on the brand only. I came here to go on a shopping spree after having a baby and many of the items had prices, when I saw items on clearance but in not my size they didn't want to match the clearance price nor the original price and made it higher. Literally so annoyed at how immature this store is (honestly most of the tjmaxx I've been too) anything HELLO KITTY literally ANYTHING the employees will hide it yesterday I send two older ladies that work there whispering about HELLO KITTY and that they will hide anything of it in the back even if it's BLANKETS you guys act so immature and hide shit grow tf up !!! Went to grab few things for last minute shopping. I was just there yesterday so I already knew what to get. Got Christmas gift boxes and a couple of valentines gifts. When got to the the cashier the lady immediately said "ready for valentine" and with the freaking smirk on her face at first I didn't understand what said and she repeated again. It was kind of annoying coz she was kind of sarcastic the way she said it... so what If im buying some valentine stuffs. And then she tried to shoved everything in a small plastic bag, she didn't even wrap the the fragile item before shoving it in the bag. I had to asked her if she could wrap it first with paper and I asked for a bigger bag. She wasn't even careful with the fragile one coz she just dropped it in the bag. TJ Maxx has always been one of my all- time favorite shopping places. They have a bit of everything - clothing, cookware, furniture, mugs, thermos, cups, phone accessories, home decors, jewelries, handbags, purses, men's, women's, kids', you name it! This one is conveniently located at a big plaza with plenty of parking, next to Ross and Target. I would stop here every chance I get when passing by during my commute from San Jose to Modesto. read more

Who isn't a fan of TJ Maxx?! I love coming here for pretty much anything. It is close by to my home so if I'm in need of decor, some work out clothes, or some luggage, TJ maxx is the place to go. In the past, I have also found some really good furniture if I look carefully-such as side tables, lamps, and decorative chairs. This is a sister store to homegoods. I often come here first before checking homegoods because sometimes the deals here are better. I highly recommend checking this TJ Maxx out, there is always something for everyone. read more

I was at TJMAX today and I had an over the top amazing shopping experience and these three people should be commended for going over and beyond to make my visit amazing. Navie is always SOOO very helpful, smiling and always has a cheerful disposition. Inderpreet K. Coordinator was extremely helpful and was making sure the check out line moved efficiently and joyfully. Li-Hsia (Lisa) was a FANTASTIC cashier like Navie. Li-Hsia made sure every item was wrung up correctly, the Theft devices were taken off appropriately and she was absolutely DELIGHTFUL! Li-Hsia, was engaging all the while taking acre of business and getting my purchase processed. I had 5 Rewards that she processed for me and I am so impressed with her charming disposition. she told me how great her team ius and how much she loves working at TJMAX.I managed Big Box Stores for over 25 years and I know star employees when I see them and these THREE ladies are EXCEPTIONAL and should be commended for always going over and beyond! read more

I always enjoy shopping here. It's a little hard to find help sometimes but maybe that's what keeps the prices low. I do find some nice bargains here from time to time. Watch the expiration dates on the food- we've bought some expired foods a couple of times. read more

Just had a run in with the crotchety old woman in the changing room. When you hit an age where you can no longer communicate respectfully with customers you NEED to retire. She is by far the worst and was constantly nagging that they were closing in 35 min. My fiancée and her friend had some pants to try on and she tried to guilt trip them for requesting a fitting room "so close to closing" with over half an hour left. She then proceeded to complain about them to her coworker in front of me. To top it all off she had the nerve to ask them to donate to their fundraiser after the fact. read more

If today was any indication then Livermore is full of Maxxanistas! The old Mervyns has been converted into a bright shiny new store. Everything was neat and orderly. Seems kinda small compared to other locations but they did a nice job. And wait til you see the changing room area. Usually just a hallway with change rooms. They've made this look like you could be at Nordstrom or Needless Markup. They had many people on hand to direct traffic and the lines moved smoothly. I hope this location manages to keep up this standard and not turn into a hot mess like the Ross a few doors down. read more

I like TJ Maxx if I have a good hour to spend with no where to be. It is extremely hit or miss here. The lines can get excruciatingly long! The employees are kinda "meh." The just ring up your things without any sort of conversation. It is nice that it is in the same shopping mall as Target. You can walk in between both stores. read more

I've never found anything good in this TJ Maxx. The service has always been meh, if not outright unfriendly, and a lot of the merchandise is falling apart and overpriced. Seriously, things are dangling threads, scuffed, or have holes. The makeup section is terrible -- in clearance, over half the things have been torn open by customers and clearly used. And they expect us to buy these things? I don't think so. Despite the terrible quality of the merchandise, it's always crowded in here. And since it shares a parking lot with Target and Ross, it gets pretty insane too, especially during weekends (I would never in a million years come here for Black Friday). read more

SO much better than the Dublin location. I always get my work clothes from here and am never dissappointed. I'm always greeted with a smile and can always find something I like, whether it's clothing or stuff for the home. Everything is in its proper place, not strewn carelessly throughout the aisle as it is in Dublin. The employees have always been very friendly to me here and even the customers at this location are nice! In Dublin, people are not mindful of their surroundings which gets very annoying. I don't know why it's so different here, but it is. I will continue going here instead of Dublin, I don't care which one I happen to be closest to. read more

I dont want to give them a star but for me to post, have to give 1 star...Wow?!!...this TJ MAXX at this location has gone downhill this past year. I miss the ladies 6 months ago that work there, they were always friendly and LISTENED if you needed help looking for something. Today, I went to return a jacket, I had the receipt, used my debit card, which a debit card is taken from your acct right away as cash..the cashier says they can't give me cash because I used my card..I recently returned an item 2 weeks ago the cashier gave me my money, I do not wish to have a store put it back to my card in the first place because it takes days, and besides never had a problem if I wanted cash, that being said I told the cashier to get the Mgr..the Mgr says it is not their policy, I replied that's a lie..I had mentioned I had returned items in the past and had no problems, I have my receipt and my debit card..the Mgr mentioned to me that they were just being nice that's why they did it..it was so ridiculous afterwards I told the cashier what's the Mgrs name and she wouldn't give it to me??...so I went up to the so cold Mgr. saw her badge and her name is Lisa...from now on, I'm going to Dublin, it's ridiculous, the way they treat customers at this location!!...folks if you want better service go to the Dublin store, never will I go to this location anymore!! read more

I purchased a $50 handbag online and 2 days after using it the handle began to fall off. Read online store policy and said you could return with mailing receipt or confirmation email. I had thrown away receipt since I loved the bag and had intended on keeping it. Went into this location with confirmation email and manager was super rude and kept telling me I couldn't return it with the email only receipt. Read her the online statement saying I could return it with email confirmation according to their website. She refused to take the bag. I emailed customer service online asking for another receipt and they sent the confirmation email again... I'm going to try taking it to another location since the lady was rude and obviously doesn't even know stores returns policy. read more

This store has no personality. The stock on the floor looks out of style clothes. No men's shoes and not much of a men's collection. The prices are steep and it is not neat. Did't mean to rhyme there. Came here to look for some slacks and dress shoes for my honey. Big disappointment. I left empty handed and won't be back to shop here. Their shoe prices are steep for a retail store. If I spend that kind of money for shoes I'll hit up Macy's with their coupons. I purchased a Samsonite luggage bag less than 90 days ago and it broke due to a poor design. I attempted to exchange it for another bag but was told they only make exchanges within 30 days. I go here all the time. My problem is not with the store itself, but for my experience last night. There was a man working last night, bald or receding hairline, maybe mid 30's or 40's... was zipping around back and forth between being cashier and doing go backs, acting like he was much busier than he actually was, clearly unhappy to interact with other humans whatsoever, making sure to treat the customers he did stop to ring up like a bunch of idiots for impeding on his time I guess... Yeah that guy is a jerk! I could already tell that this guy was a jerk as he turned around and signed into a register, and I was next in line, lucky me. He hit the stupid automatic button robot voice thing to summon me to the register. Didn't say a word to me, didn't even look at me. I said "hi, I have a return, nothing wrong with it, just didn't fit the drawer I wanted to use it in (drawer organizer)". Still didn't look at me or say anything, just proceeded to hurriedly take the item out of the bag and bang on a few buttons on the register and as he walked away mumbled something to me.... I said "I'm sorry what was that?". He just kept doing whatever he was doing when he walked away, ignored me, and rolled his eyes as he rushed back to the register and repeated "swipe your card" and he was very irritated apparently that I did not understand his mumbling the first time. I didn't bother to speak to him the rest of the transaction. And when he slammed the copies of my receipts on the counter, I was glad to be finished with him!!!! JERK ALERT! read more

The first time I came in here, I wasn't impressed. Everything should be cheaper than department store prices, but in my opinion, it's still too expensive for me. I'm a bit more frugal than most though. However, the second time I came here, I happened to mosey my way into the toy section. They carry Melissa & Doug brand toys for kids! I was excited! And I was even more excited when I found a Christmas gift for my daughter that I was going to order on Amazon... And yes, even MORE excitement when I realized it was $5 cheaper at TJ Maxx than it was on Amazon. I'm such the bargain hunter! The line was long. I dreaded standing in it, because the last time I came here, the service was sooooooooooo s-l-o-w. But this time the line went fast. My checkout was one of the quickest EVER. Kudos for that. I have always enjoyed shopping in this TJ Maxx. Their employees have always been very courteous and helpful. Their jewelry Dept employee Claire goes above and beyond for me. She lets me know when a certain brand is in. How many employees would go out do there way for a customer like that, not many. She deserves bonus points for this in my eyes. I'm thankful to find what I really like at great prices. You never know what you might find at TJ Maxx and for me that's part of the fun of shopping here. I have found high end brands for great prices but you have to look through their stuff to find them. read more

Juicy Couture handbags for $89 (and they are NOT the ugly ones that nobody wants!) Calvin Klein, and so many more designer brands! Does not even compare to Ross! Name brands around every corner! I tried to return a defective Ralph Lauren shirt back to TJ Maxx's east Dublin location. The crew and the manager was so rude and ridicules in the way they treated me. I should confess that I did not have the receipt. I did not want to get my money back. I just wanted to get a store credit for a defective piece that I paid over $30. The manager even did not want to hear my story since his cashier already rejected my request. They played with me by asking how much I paid for it, when I got it and if I had a credit card invoice showing as a proof of purchase. Having answered all the questions and showed them my credit card invoice which shows the date, location and amount I paid for it they still told me they could not accept it since it did not have the tag.. They just played around with me and insulted me through my horrible experience. I strongly advice you guys to reconsider buying anything from TJMaxx due to several reasons below: 1. There is more than 50% chance that product you are about to buy could be defective 2. If you take off the tags you cannot return the product back for a refund or credit 3. Inflexible and rude management can waste your time read more

I have always loved this TJ Maxx! People complain its hit or miss? Its a TJ Maxx, thats whats so much fun. I go in at least once a week to see what treasure I can find. Sometimes I find some amazing things, sometimes I leave empty handed. I still love the store. The staff has always been helpful and kind. Today this great team went above and beyond to help me with a difficult exchange and then put aside the item I returned because I liked that size better and it was the last one. Designer clothes for cheap! Yea right!! When I went in to TJ Maxx, I found a great looking designer moo-moo for absolutely cheap, but I found out it was two sizes too small. I went to customer service and asked to return it but they wouldn't because they said I had taco sauce on the moo-moo, which was indeed the case, I just came from taco bell...but the service here stinks and I will likely not return! read more
