Incredibly rude and racist workers. We've lived in Pleasanton for 15 years and I've never felt so disrespected from one of our downtown shops. I always try to support local, but I won't be coming here again. I also hate leaving negative reviews even if I have a bad experience, but I am livid. How dare you make my daughter cry over your awful wares. How dare you follow us around as if we're petty thieves. How dare you. They TURNED AN ALARM ON US and then followed us around the store. Beware if you're a person of color. They even hovered around my 80 year old mother who was just looking at some decorations. Ironic, since my mother typically loves this store since she's an antique collector and should be their ideal customer. I'm not at all surprised that there's another comment about how they were rude to Asian customers. Also, my young daughter picked up a costume piece and got yelled at as my husband was trying to have her put it away. I will acknowledge that she was holding something delicate and didn't want to let go, but she was trying to put it away and was being a typical kid, wanting to do it by herself. IF she had broken it, we would have paid for it. Look, I'm very reasonable. I can understand that there are fragile items they don't want kids playing with. But my daughter wasn't being unruly or roughly grabbing things. She was doing what she always does when she visits American Harvest without having received any prior complaint. If the employees had a problem and politely asked me to have her stop, we would have stopped her. We would have apologized and left, probably embarrassed but understanding. There was absolutely NO reason to yell and make my four year old daughter cry. There was NO reason to turn on an alarm and follow us around the store. I honestly can barely comprehend this type of behavior. read more

American Harvest is located in downtown Pleasanton and has an array of seasonal and holiday decor, trinkets, and more. They have a variety of Disney pins that are for sell on a regular basis, as well as Pleasanton tea towels, notebooks, postcards, and a canvas clutch. Today, 12/30/2024 was the last day for their 40% off sale and they're closed this week to reset for the New Year. I can always find a seasonal item to gift to a friend and their postcards that say, "Hugs from Pleasanton" are adorable and I've sent many to my family and friends. I love visiting this local shoppe located in the heart of Pleasanton. Most of the items in the store are new and vintage goodies imported from France. They have trinkets, jewelry, soaps, handmade cards from local artists, postcards, vibtage Disney pins, lavender from Provence, France (it smells so delightful) amd so much more. I purchased some journals, handmade cards and bags of fresh lavender. The customer service is always wonderful. And they are very hospitable when you are in their shop read more

Awesome service ! I went to two other stores looking for jellycat. This store has a good range of the new ones.

They caught my eye with the sign "Disney Pins & Collectibles Sold Here," so I thought, "Why not?" and dragged my friend in here along with me. We were enchanted by how cute and welcoming this store was with many knick knacks and different offerings. They even had a stand filled with pamphlets of what the world looked like from different years between 1939-1999. It was so funny (and slightly depressing) to see what different things cost in the past, such as a house and gas and various foods. My friend and I were most intrigued by the Disney pins. The storeowners were very friendly and were happy to answer our questions about them. I asked how they sourced the pins, and they said that they travel to Southern California a lot and do a lot of trade with friends down there. I also asked if they had any pins from Hunchback of Notre Dame (the most underrated Disney movie IMHO, so I figured it was a long shot, but might as well ask, because you never know, right?), which they didn't. My friend ended up purchasing a pin of the Siamese cats from Lady and the Tramp, while I purchased one of Mulan. We were happy with our finds! read more

Made it in to American Harvest last week. My love for this shop has not diminished. Snagged adorable Stuffed Cat Ornaments for DGD's, a great rustic Tin Star, and two adorable glittery Birds for our Winter decor. I am so glad to add these little touches to my home. Happy Holidays! read more

American Harvest is just eclectic enough to offer something for everyone, whether it's Americana or imports from France. Very good for gifts, if you really know your friend's taste because their merchandise can be unique. Some merchandise is vintage, some reproduced to look vintage. The price will reflect that. My own home decor is traditional/import, but I've purchased several items from American Harvest that added some glitter and whimsy. Once you're on their mailing list, they'll invite you for artist signings and tea cakes! This is also a wonderful store for unique seasonal decorating. read more

If you love Disney, you're in luck, the owner knows a lot about Disney and often sells collectible Disney pins in the shop. Cuteness overload! Incredibly sweet shop with a wide variety of gifts. From delicious Tokyo Milk products that smell like heaven to my favorite baby gifts from Bunnies By The Bay, there's a treasure to be found for everybody. The lady working there is lovely, doesn't hover but will chat and answer questions. The prices are reasonable for being a botique shop. This is a great place to find gifts for women and babies. Men, you are mostly out of luck here, unless you like glitter, in which case shop on! read more

A very nice, unique shop! This is my favorite store in the area. If your in Downtown Pleasanton, this is definitely a go to store! The owners are lovely people who have collected many French and American antiques. You can tell they put a lot of work into the attractive displays they put in there window. Antique books, fonts, pictures, and many more beautiful things can be purchased here. Did I mention the soap?? There is a wide variety to choose from! They are all very nice scents and would make a good gift for a friend. As this store is very exciting, I don't think this is one for the youngsters. If you do choose to bring your kids in, I would suggest "snowball" hands. read more

They have a couple of bottles of wine I liked also - again full price - so I just go get them at Safeway. I was immediately struck by the adorable castle cash wrap upon entering this quaint, cozy store. They have a variety of items grouped in a appealing manner. I was looking for Christmas gifts & the owner was such a big help. He showed me every single pendant he had & they were all so unique it was hard making a decision. What customer service! The area is still a discovery for me. Doing some pre search (hahan...) and trying to get the vibe of Main street. This store is great. As a store owner, I really appreciate the effort put in the lay out and display of products and they are doing a great job at it. In 2 weeks, they pulled such a different decor (for Halloween)... Kuddos. Found the wings for my costume and saw a lot of little things to get a stylish halloween atmosphere for your house. read more

I absolutely love this store!!!!! I wish it was open more!!! I went in one afternoon and I talked the poor store owner's ear off for about an hour and her very nice employee. She was so kind and I really enjoyed our conversation about where she gets all of her things for the store from. I know she is making a trip out to France and I can't wait to see what she brings back! This is one of my all time favorite stores!
