Walmart - Department Stores Near Me - Pleasanton, California

This Walmart is a lot cleaner than most in the Bay Area. The location is good, too. That's about it, though. They never have bags and I'm not just talking about during quarantine. I was actually extremely surprised they had bags when I went there on Tuesday because every other time I have been (maybe 4 or 5 times) they have not had bags. I ALWAYS have to buy the insulated bags, with the exception of 1 time when they had absolutely no bags... not even for sale. I've never been to a store that is out of bags as often as they are. It's no busier than any location I've been to, so whoever's in charge of that is seriously failing. One thing that really disturbed me on my last visit was the cashier. She is an older, skinny white lady. Besides being RUDE (didn't say hello, or ANYTHING to me for that matter), she had mentioned something to the customer in front of me about how she has been raped and molested several times thru her life so she really doesn't care about being nice to anyone after the customer told her that she looked like she was having a bad day. I was floored that she would say this to a complete stranger that she hadn't said a word to prior to that statement...and the fact that everyone around her heard it made me uncomfortable. The customer was concerned and asked her if she had anyone to talk to and if she was in therapy, which was very sweet, but the interaction was so bizarre. Curbside pickup sucks. I arrived Walmart at 9:45pm, and the app notified them I was here. I had been waiting for my order over 30 minutes in my car, but no one came out. My wife went in to check, and they said the curbside pickup was closed at 10pm. They also said the responsible person disappeared or might leave early, and some customers had waited for an hour outside too. read more

First pick through an absolute pigsty and maybe find half the things you are looking for. Then when you finally give up and go to check out you find two lines open with 8-9 people in each line. Then you stand there and barely move for ten minutes. Finally decide I can't take it, put perishable items back and get out while still sane. Sorry Walmart, saving a buck or two just ain't worth it. Their pick up program sucks, there are no clear markings and most of the time customers park in those spots and management don't care. Not me but what about those customers that have hard time moving around and if they provide a service where they bring our contents out for you what you suppose to do when spots are mot clearly marked and customers use for parking there own car. I really don't like walmart, the stench and the feeling of dirtiness hits you as soon as you step foot into the store. I went into pleasanton walmart to pick up bean bag refills and asked 3 employees where it was located, all 3 looked at me and said 'huh'. One dude actually ask me if bean bag was a toy for kids. Never found the refills. Omg.... Aisles all look cluttered and the store just looks dirty. I rather pay more and continue to hit east Target, clean and lots of spaces between aisles. There was a lady who was in the garden center this evening who didn't want to help me locate something I wanted because she had too much to do before close. The doors were closed to the outdoors and she refused to try and help me access the area to look for a product. I showed her on my phone what I was looking for and she said she never seen it ever and she's worked in that department for years. She said 1/3rd of the items showing stocked online is incorrect. Seemed like she had no willingness to help me, I was upset by the exchange because I come here often. So disappointing the level of disrespect and the tone she had was condescending and negative. Right in front of my son. What's funny is that my wife is ordering this online for pick up. And I have to come back to get it. Waste of gas and time. read more

As far as Walmarts go, this is one of the least stressful to visit. I have take off a star for the crazy parking lot though because I think I am going to get hit very time I drive through. The store is usually pretty well stocked and organized. Checkout was relatively painless today, but it can be a pain when they only have a couple of checkers. Overall, I enjoy this Walmart much more than the one down the street from me so I will take the detour after work when I really need to go. read more

5 stars for the "uncle" who checked out my flat tire. He asked if I was Filipino and then took care of me. Turns out there was no "butas" someone just let the air out. Just your average Walmart. Tons of parking but avoid after-work hours and weekends, can get really crowded. Black Friday is popular here. Bring your own bag or they'll charge you 10 cents for a paper one. You can also just put everything into your cart, no bag needed. Their car maintenance service here is pretty decent and cheap. I usually get my oil change here. The wait can be long though so go early in the morning. read more

I made yet another annual stop for one specific item, and unfortunately for me I had to use their restroom. One stall was dirty enough I didn't not even dare. The other stalls ALL had the toilet paper propped up against the rail or the toilet paper dispenser. Ugh. How do I know that the toilet paper wasn't rolling all over the floor before they got propped up on the rail/dispenser? Good thing I had some tissue paper in my purse! The soap dispensers were also either all broken or someone was too lazy to fill them. There was a large squirt bottle of soap on the counter, all warped and obviously too-used. Stopped here as my buddy wanted to pick up something specific and Target didn't have it. As is typical, Walmart is a circus in training. Why is the grocery more-or-less in the middle of the store? The layout seems to be designed like the roads outside the store--by committee focused more on the weekend than their jobs. In any case, we got to the self checkouts, which were just as packed as the regular checkouts. Too much fun for me. read more

Note: As far as a Walmart goes, this is likely the most "ok" one I have ever been to. A review for Walmart? I know, ridiculous right? I tend to avoid Walmart like it has the flu. If you are ok with supporting a megastore chain which has quite questionable ethical structure, this is a shopper dream. If you're like me and aren't a fan of that but need a quick item occasionally while driving by, it's bearable. I have stopped in here a few times for random items I knew I could easily find and get out. I have to say, they do a decent job of keeping it clean, organized, and generally ok. It's a "supercenter" which I guess infers that it's larger? They do have some food items as well, maybe that's why it's super. The crowd and people is usually what makes a Walmart experience a really bad one. And this has to be the most normal crowd of any I have ever been to. I didn't see one person yelling at their screaming child. Not once did I ask myself if I should call CPS or not. Not once did I get a cart rammed into me by a person wearing pajamas at 5pm in the evening. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. Horrible smell in women's bathroom, no disinfecting wipes, no hand sanitizer for customers, and employees that don't care. The venture continued from Walmart in Livermore to this one. This was a faster trip in and out of the store. I did not need a manager to help me find the remaining six Libbey's Royal Grape Floral Bud Vase. I figure this Walmart probably had a similar layout as the Livermore one and I wasn't wrong...found them. Ooh, this one had 12 vases, but I got my six and 3 votive-typed vases for 3 votive candles, headed to the check out stand to pay for items - less than $20.00. Woo hoo, I am out the door...this certainly was a quickie and I ain't talkin' about the wam, bam, thank you ma'am thing here folks...LOL. There are many reasons not to come to this Walmart. 1. In a very sketchy area and very sketchy people always next to the store 2. They are very dirty! I saw reviews of people saying that this place is clean but it is not. Their is littealy dirt and other disgusting stuff on the floor 3. Disgusting restrooms Customer service is fine SOMETIMES. Worst Walmart. I already knew that but had to return a bottle of dishwashing detergent that wasn't sealed & taped properly so 2/3 spilled all over the plastic bag it came in. The manager, April is her name, threw a fit & told me it's beyond the 90 day return policy. I explained that it's spilled so not my fault & 90 day policy sounded "f__king" ridiculous. She then refused to help me coz she said I used profanity. I told her it's not directed at her. This manager went on announcing to the whole store how wrong I was, etc, etc. Walmart.com refunded me & told me I didn't need to return the remaining bottle. Spare yourself the customer service abuse from this store, either don't buy anything or go to another store. This manager should be fired or perhaps transferred to the warehouse where she can't interact with people. I was looking for something, and I was having a hard time finding it. I did what anyone would do: find an employee. The first one I found said, "There is someone else over there," She looked like she didn't want to work there. I didn't see anyone where she was pointing. I eventually found another worker who was in an argument with a customer! They were literally yelling at each other! The employee never ended up answering my question. I always want to keep giving this Walmart a chance to redeem itself because let's face it- the prices are what keeps me shopping here. Now I am officially DONE. COUNTLESS times, the customer service is just horrible. I've used curbside shopping and at least 4 times I have waited more than 30 mins for my order. I have called Walmart customer service number and I NEVER get an associate. I just end up waiting and waiting until when Im about ready to leave, here they come out. Another time I checked in online (within the curbside time frame) and I waited. It was getting late so I went inside. I had a broken foot so I was on crutches. I went to the back of the store and the store associate was so rude when I asked him about my order. He said it was after hours and he couldn't help me. I told him I checked in before the hour was up. The Walmart app allowed me to check in. He said fine I'll get your order. He then asked me where was my cart. I asked him if he can please take my order outside to the car since there was no way I can push my cart out because I was on crutches. Clearly I had to explain this to him. He proceeded to give me attitude and huffed about it and eventually took my order outside. Tonight was just the last straw. I placed a delivery order for the time frame between 3-4on. It is now 7:36on. I have called Walmart more than a dozen times. I got hung up on twice by an associate. All the other times it would just ring and then eventually just hang up. I will NEVER shop at this Walmart or any other one ever again. I will gladly spend a little more money for better customer service and save myself the stress. RIDICULOUS. read more

Tonight February 15th at 8:05pm a female employee with brown hair and a yellow vest took my s/o and I by surprise in interrupting our conversation at the exit by saying "Have a good night, can I see your receipt? Or ignore me, that's works too!" First of all, common courtesy does not dictate that I need to reply to you if I'm having a conversation with someone else and you interrupt me. Secondly, showing proof of receipt at the exit is not a requirement of shopping at Walmart. If you suspect me of theft I'd be happy to prove otherwise. Maybe I wouldn't be in such a hurry to leave if you had more than one cashier to ring up customers on a weeknight. read more

Worst management, and Worst Walmart I've ever been to! Waiting for 45 minutes to pick up the two pictures that we ordered an hour in advance as it advertised. The entire time waiting with another group of people for pictures, not one employee including the supervisor we found out later who walked by and basically ran away asked if we needed help. Myself and the other people waiting kept asking for help just to be told "I called someone". This is all the managers fault and no one else's, you are responsible for handling and WORKING to help people. This manager we saw just standing on his phone and telling us "oh I'll send someone." 45 minutes later when someone came (the manager could have to whole time) the printer was out of paper. We went back to the manager and he said "I have someone filling it". I mean do you do anything to help or work with your team, you fill the paper. There are upset customers who's orders they placed two days in advance were "lost" and this poor employee has no help. The manager I know was made aware by us alone three times yet never showed to help the staff. Instead was literally sitting on his phone in an isle giving snarky remarks. Come on Walmart, promote the hard workers! This tall lazy guy manager who is lucky I didn't get his name was horrible and I feel bad for the staff. Do better Walmart! read more

I needed to get 70 notebooks for my wife's school. William did an exceptional job of helping me open boxes, and count out 70 notebooks. Keyana was very helpful at the register, because each color had a different pricing code, and she helped me collect the notebooks by color. read more

I am writing this review because of 2 employees who were very helpful. 1 Hispanic lady with glasses and the customer service manager Mia. I came in tonight to buy some fabric to make a project. The store was not busy at all. And there were no customer service attendants in the fabric section. So I waited patiently until an employee walked by so I could ask them for help or at least page someone to this department so I could get some help. 1)First Lady walked by (an older Filipino lady) looked at me and knew I was waiting and tried to walk by me avoiding eye contact. I said excuse me can I get some help here. She started to pick up her pace walking even faster saying that she just clocked out. I said ok. So I waited. 2) the second lady that walked by also noticing me waiting at the counter again tried to walk by avoiding eye contact. I said excuse me miss can you please help me? She replied "there's no one in that section." I thought to myself (thank you master of the obvious) but as politely as I could I asked, "if you can't help me can you page someone who can?" She looked down the aisle and realized another employee was approaching and she said "That guy!!! He can help you!!" So I waited... 3) The third guy who approached (an older bald African American man walked up and as I said "excuse me sir" he cut me off and just shook his head with a smirk and said there's no one in this section... annoyed by this time I said can you please page someone if you can't help me. Without any eye contact or acknowledgement he said "I'll try to find someone" I said thank you as he walked away. I waited more... by this time I had been standing there for about 35 minutes. No one ever came. I tried one more time... 4) A Hispanic lady with glasses saw me, again almost walked by had I not stopped her to ask for help. I explained that I had asked 3 employees for help previously and everyone said they would find someone but never did. She said I'm so sorry you had to wait I will page someone for you right now. And very quickly I heard an announcement that customer service was needed in the fabric department. Thank YOU!!! Finally some customer service!!!! Apparently the first 3 clueless Walmart employees had no idea that customer service was their first priority over stocking shelves and gossiping with other employees. After the kind lady pages customer service, a very apologetic and very accommodating lady named Mia came to help me. She was extremely helpful and within no time I had what I needed and I was out of the store. Had it not been for these 2 outstanding employees I would have had an awful experience at this Walmart Store. I give Mia And the kind lady with glasses 5 stars!!! I wish I could give those other 3 lazy employees negative stars... it's people like that who are hurting this specific Walmart location. read more

This Wally World is much more nicer than the one in Heganberger and Lewelling. You don't have to worry about getting jacked lol No hoodlums hanging out at this store. This Wally World is probably one of the biggest ones I've been to with plenty of parking. I was also surprised that they sell liquor here. Pretty descent selection. The McDonald's inside this store is cool because it has a Ronald McDonald in a bench where you can sit and take a picture lol read more

Maybe I need to match my review to my expectations but this Walmart is terrible. Okay, they are in the middle of a store re-org/remodel but the place just has no room to walk around anytime. Do you really need to crowd every aisle with a temporary display? Time to bring in the fire marshall! The clientele here is right out of the horror photos on the web - saw one doughboy teenager walking around with his t-shirt up scratching his stomach. The parents were busy trying to put stuff back on the shelves so they could buy stuff instead at the dollar store. Ugh. I had to come here to get a synthetic oil change for my car. The auto services they provide is completely inferior compared to other alternatives. An oil change does not take a long time but when I dropped off my car, they told me that it would be done within an hour and a half... Good thing I had my mom pick me up instead of waiting for my car to finish because my car wasn't done until 7pm (closing time for auto services). Dropped off my car at 3pm... and it finishes at 7pm? That's 4 hours to do an oil change. Either there were too many cars, too few workers, or a combination of both. read more

I've been coming to this Walmart since its opening day. It's probably one of the more nicer stores aesthetically. There is constant remodeling happening inside to it that keep it clean, updated, and very organized. The aisles are also decently wide to allow for more than one cart to pass and, surprise, the employees here are welcoming and well-spoken. It also seems to refresh its stock a lot faster than its counterparts in San Leandro or Rohnert Park. Usually, if I see an ad and go there, the item I want is present. Today, I went for fans to cool off my room from the current heat wave. With help, an employee guided me to the section that had been created in advance for just fans. There were all kinds of sizes available and at decent prices. The same employee also assured me that if I didn't find the one I wanted, a shipment was coming Wednesday. She also said she would help me order it from their online store and have it shipped here for pickup if I wanted to insure I got the one I wanted. I was very thankful for her help and walked out with a dual window fan that works fantastically. I'm cooler and happier from my visit. read more

We were headed to Merced one afternoon and the traffic was ridiculous. I couldn't stand it anymore so we pulled off the highway and straight to the Walmart. I instantly felt better upon walking in to the store! I was in shopping heaven. Lots of great items at really affordable prices. This Walmart has a McDonald's inside so I was able to recharge with a sundae and fries. The lady managing the dressing rooms was super nice and we had a very pleasant experience when checking out to purchase our items. read more

On Friday, Dec. 6th. I called Walmart, Pleasanton, CA, to see if they had Mukluks socks. The employee who answered the phone said that they were only a Black Friday item and they had sold out. So I went on line. I was surprised to find that Walmart said that they had a two colors and about 7 in the size that I wanted. So I decided to drive out there and see what they had. I found more than seven XL sizes and in every color. They were behind a big cart that was filled up to the top with items. There was no clerk working on it and I was there for quite a while and no one came. So why was the cart left on the floor? I am doing the crafts for an organization's Christmas Party, so I had lots of items to pick up. One employee pointed to the sports area where there was no employees to be found, however I did find the ping pong balls. Then I needed holiday stickers like what you seal a Christmas envelope with or the end of a Christmas package. I found an employee and called to her several times. She did not hear me and when I was about four feet away, she turned and started to walk away. I caught up with her and ask her where I could find the stickers in the store. She looked at me and said, "Store". I repeated my question and she just said "Store". The third time I asked and she just repeated my last word. Store. Obviously, she did not speak English so I left. I asked one employee if the stickers would be in the stationary. She said, "No". Everything that is for Christmas is in the Garden area. I went there and did not find them. Giving up on the Christmas stickers, I now was trying to find a key ring tag so I could identify which keys fit what locks. I found three employees talking together and went to ask them. Immediately two of them walked away and the third waited to help me. I use key ring tags all the time and showed her one and asked where they were kept. She spoke in Spanish and let me know she did not understand English. Then one of the other employee who had walked away before came back and the first employee asked the second employee to help me. I showed her the key ring tag and asked her where they were. This second employee did not speak English well either. Now the third employee who had left when I originally showed up arrived. She spoke English better than the other two. I showed her the key ring tag and asked her where they were. She looked at her device and said on aisle 39C. I asked where that aisle was and she said, "She said you have to go down there". I looked to see what aisle I was on and I was on aisle 39C. So I left the three employee's and walked down the aisle to find the key ring tags by myself. I looked very well, but there were no key rings on that aisle, just craft items. The employees were still talking when I went back to them and told them I could not find the key tags. The English speaking one, went down the aisle to looked and then looked back at her device. Surprise!! They do not carry them in the store. I can order them on line, and look! She told me they are on sale on line. I was told that is what I had to do. I asked her where the Christmas stickers were kept and she said in the Garden Area. I told her I could not find them and could she take me over and show me where they were? During this conversation another employee came running up and told them they had better stop talking and start working or they would be in trouble. All three ran. I followed the employee who I had asked for help and she was moving so fast that I could hardly keep up with her. She was disappointed when turned around to see I was still there. She was walking towards the Garden Area so I followed her. She went to the window decals and told me this is what I wanted. Stupid me. I found five employees, four who could not speak English and yet they totally understood what the words "They had better stop talking and start working or they would be in trouble". It appears that the customers are the joke of the store and we should all just order on line, because Walmart does not carry any items they advertise on their website. It took almost two hours to buy $40.00 worth of items for the Christmas Party. The cart in front of the socks that had been in my way when I entered the store was still there with no employee around. As I stood in line, I said to myself, this is what I get for coming to Walmart. The woman ahead of me heard me and said, "Yes, I know exactly what you mean." It was much quicker going to a more expensive store and buying the rest of the Christmas items I needed. read more
