Good location for Safeway, as it is right off oh Hwy 680 and also have a gas station. Well stocked and organized. Non-locked Restrooms for Men and Women (separately of course).

Quality/Quantity - Location is good, nice, and well kept. Starbucks right when you walk in. Pharmacy was out to lunch when we got here, see picture. This location also has a gas station, see picture. Small sitting area to eat, see picture. Atmosphere - Good size supermarket. Current departments/services - Grocery, Floral, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Deli, Bakery, etc. Plenty of parking. Open 7 days a week from 5am to 2am the next day. Pharmacy hours differ, see picture. Service - N/A, self-service. Price - Depends on what you buy. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1915 with your 904 locations in 17 states. In 2015, Albertsons purchased Safeway.

Absolutely obsessed with the bakery department. Maggie went above and beyond on my birthday cake. She was detailed and understood exactly what I wanted. She made my birthday so special. Miguel was also very helpful and sweet. I'll continue to order my birthday cakes from this location. Thank you Maggie .

Safeway on Bernal Ave is a newer grocery store with a gasoline station too. I frequently shop here because of their proximity to where I live and because they carry a great line of gluten-free products. I cook all of my recipes dairy-free and gluten-free in order to accommodate my daughter's food allergies. Cashier associates are always helpful and friendly.

Nice safeway. Uncharacteristically friendly and helpful staff. Amazing clientele. Clean store with plenty of stock. Convenient parking.

This was the perfect addition to our party spread and I was able to order it online with my groceries. Just take note that they require 48 hours notice.

This review is for my experience at the bakery. First off, yes i admit I love Safeway birthday cake lol. It's a nostalgic thing for my family and we get it for at least 1-2 birthdays a year. It used be a simple task ordering a cake from my local Fremont Safeway but now they're ALWAYS fully booked and in general have a super rude/bad attitude and declining quality in their cakes. This location is somewhat near my work and I ordered from here once since Fremont was fully booked and the folks at the bakery department went out of their way to make a special design for my sisters birthday and it tasted SO good! Even my family members who aren't into safeway cakes loved the cake and were shocked it was from Safeway. Though it's a bit out of the way for me, I always order from here now and appreciate the quality and service for special days!

Today however, solidified my never using this store again. No shopping carts anywhere near the door, not the biggest deal as I only needed a handful of items, but left wondering if they expected customers to scour the parking lots to find one? Inside the store no hand baskets anywhere to be seen, walked down each checkout stand and no baskets there either..!! Walked up to the manager station and saw who appeared to be a manager, she was having an open heated discussion with another employee, never even looked up towards myself or the elderly man in front of me standing in front of the counter. I walked through the store to grab my items in my arms and get out of there. Stopped at the Ice cream aisle And Dryers ice cream was $8 & change which is significantly more than what Safeway is typically selling it for! Skipped that, found small packets of pickles on the end cap, grabbed one, and went to the checkout. I asked the checkout woman, who can only be described as "sullen", where the hand baskets were, she tersely replied "we don't have any".. Then came the pickles, they wouldn't ring up, she hollered at a woman in the self checkout asking about the price, she hadn't even seen them before. My checker asked her to go look up the price, had to ask 4 times, had to describe how to go look up the price. Woman comes back, says there's no price on the display, ( which is already what I said) and she says "just charge $2.. (I'm not even sure that tiny packet is worth $2, but I just want out of there by now.).!! Checker barely looks up at me, as she slides my stuff down the counter, gives a 1/2 hearted "thanks".. So much more letdowns, more employees than customers, not one of them made eye contact, most were milling around looking like they were trying to find something to do.. (Which wasn't asking any customers if they needed help).!! I was relieved to be driving away, drove to San Ramon Safeway and bought all of the other stuff I needed, Dreyers Ice cream was $2 cheaper, I was so much happier at Safeway that I spent $120.00 there.!!

When I asked the cashier to clarify, the response felt dismissive, as if I should just accept the markup without question. To make matters worse, as I browsed the store, I noticed several items that were past their expiration dates. If you're going to charge premium prices, the very least I expect is for the food to be fresh and safe to eat. That's just basic quality control. At the San Jose location, Ana repeatedly told me, at least four times, that I had to pick up my cake at 5:00 PM and that there was absolutely no flexibility to come earlier. After nearly 10 minutes of explaining the same thing over and over, she finally said I could come at 4:30 PM. When I asked if she was sure, she said yes. I then asked for her name so I could let the bakery know who approved it, and she said her name was Ana. However, she immediately followed that by saying it was still up to the bakery staff and that they could make me wait until 5:00 PM if they wanted to because that was my scheduled pickup time. She also mentioned that people are always trying to do this. It ended up being a long and frustrating conversation, and I still didn't have a clear answer. Then I called the Dublin location and spoke with Amber. What a difference! She was kind, understanding, and genuinely focused on helping me. She immediately reassured me that the cake would be ready earlier in the day and that I could come pick it up when I needed it. She even explained customization options for the cake that I didn't know were available. Amber made the entire process easy and stress-free. I am so grateful for her flexibility, professionalism, and willingness to help. She made me feel like customer service actually matters, and because of her, I feel confident and excited about my graduation celebration.
