20 mins ago today. Of course, you go inside Raley's store and shop for quick stuff i.e. bananas, cuts of ginger, onion leaves, carrots, avocado. and forgot to bring your own bag. I asked the register person to put the items back in the basket after ringing in the items. He said no since I'm not buying a bag, I just could not take the basket out of the store. He already knew the answer, but he would have to ask someone. I'm thinking, this is Pleasanton right? I explained to him I forgot to bring my own bag. I have one or two in the the trunk of my car, and it's literally car was parked 40 feet away from the sliding door entrance. I was shaking my head, l'm paying $19.21 worth of groceries, and they're making me walk back to my car. I said forget it, I walked away. read more

Customer service sucks today even dealing with the manager. Made me take everything out of the bag for return and to ring everything up again to give me my discount because I forgot my member card. The phone number wouldn't match either so that's on my end but service I got was not friendly. Didn't even put my groceries back in the bag for me. After he bagged all of the groceries for a customer using a handicapped cart, I saw a courtesy clerk named Corey immediately offer to follow the customer out to help him load his groceries into his car. It was so nice to see Corey offer help so quickly and graciously. Corey also returned to electric cart back to the store so that it was ready for the next customer who needed it! read more

Look I absolutely love this Raleys. Since the completion of the remodel oh, 2 years ago? It is a lovely store that is pleasant to shop in when we're close by. Today at first I was shocked to be able to bring a cart in from outside. Since I normally shop at the Fremont Raleys, they won't let you bring a cart in. They sterilize them so you can only use those that have been cleaned and are inside. At least they had diy cart wipes here! We wanted deli sandwiches, they have a beautiful unmanned deli. My husband seen about 5 deli workers huddled up chatting on the other side... I continued to wait & wait... finally a young man came to work or back from lunch, he told the group to help me they ignored him. He came to help me. Finally! I ordered a vegetarian burrito that was premade he heated it while making my husband's sandwich, then put it in a panini press??? He had to walk away to get meat to make the sandwich and again for I wasn't sure why... but, he just left the sandwich on the counter while I waited some more. He was pleasant enough but between his mask & how far away we were apart it was hard to hear him. My husband thought his sandwich was fine. My "Veggie Burrito" turned out to be a breakfast sandwich... That would've been fine, but its not what I ordered! so I was bummed b/c I didn't find out till we were settled in to our picnic in the park across the street! So beautiful store & deli but I don't think they are a busy deli. Mainly because he didn't give us napkins which in pre pandemic times you can probably grab yourself. And he kept leaving to get stuff?! Still I would go back and give the deli another try... And the little park attached to the senior center across the street was nice on such a gorgeous day. Jake is a wonderful helper and so ultra courteous and patient . He is a terrific young man who helped me with an online order and was so good about follow-up and problem-solving. That's a big deal in this day and age. His coworkers whom I heard in the background were also terrific. It's what I have known about Raleys my entire life, when in Reno, over 50 years ago my mom took us shopping. when I was helping a checker bag as a 7-year old. I just love going to Raleys it's always fresh, well-stocked and super clean, and always has SUPER employees who are courteous and go above and beyond. I've been to a few raley's and have always received attitude and rude stares from staff. Like I don't belong. Or why am I here. Starting to think you have to be a certain color to receive respect and good customer service. It's a shame you have to go through this. It's 2025. We are equal. No one is better than anyone else. Sorry we are the same. I would not recommend anyone to shop here, because they judge you by the way you look and dress to be treated fairly. Don't waste your time. And the prices are way too high. Go somewhere you are treated with respect regardless of how you look, where you are welcomed. They'd rather lose customers than treat people the way they would want to be treated. Whoever is in charge of the hiring you need to have customer service training classes in how to treat customers regardless of what they look like. All people should be treated equally! read more

I used to shop at Rainey's in San Rosa when I lived and worked there 3 years ago and decided then I would not give them my business due to the lack of customer service I received there. Zero eye contact or welcoming vibe from the staff there. Well here I am working in Pleasanton and it just so happens I ran into a Rainey's here. I am a very forgiving person and figured I would give them another shot in this area. It couldn't be as awful as the Santa Rosa branch however I was wrong. Terrible. At check out the cashier didn't even greet me, she just grabbed the product I was purchasing and gave me attitude. Their card reader is different then most grocery store as far as the prompt on the screen so I could have used some communication however I just got a blank stare from the cashier, didn't get her name but she just blew me away with her lack of caring. Love this Raley's because of its ideal location and there is always some unsolicited, but amazing, performance outside. There were no problems when I went in. I was slightly disappointed in their selection of Christmas/holiday cards and wrapping. I had to get a generic card that didn't specify a holiday because I could not find any holiday-specific cards on the two huge walls of cards. I will be back, just maybe not for a Christmas card. Update: I don't know if I was too early last time or if I simply didn't see it but they definitely have Christmas cards now. read more

I am absolutely appalled at how I was just treated by one of the cashiers here. The setup of the registers here are way different than any other grocery store where you put your groceries on the belt and the cashier rings you up. It wasn't clear where I had to put my groceries and which side I was supposed to be standing at. I had told the cashier that I had never seen a register setup like this and I was confused about what I was supposed to do. I was met with aggression and very little explanation of what I was supposed to do. She ended up talking down to me the entire time and slammed down my ID after she keyed in my birth date. My experience shopping here was horrible as well. Almost nothing that was in the weekly ad was in stock and the things that were in stock and on sale were tiny. For example, the ad showed regular size pork chops, but the actual pork chops that were in the store were less than half that size. At checkout the total price of a weeks worth of groceries ended up being almost $300 which is insane. Needless to say that I will never come back here again. read more

Ther service is incredible, the product is terrible the breakfast burrito has about 1/2 of am egg, 1 slice of bacon, 3 potatoe slices and some sauce. This is an insult. I must say that this store has the most polite and friendly staff. 5 stars all the way. The woman in that bakery offered to draw a bike on my Husband's Bday Cake. It's his only present, and he's going to LOVE it. The produce selection is great, so is the deli, and they also have very nice floral/Gift/seasonal deco areas. Bonus that there's a Peet's Coffee in the store! Not as pricey as Whole Foods, not as Cranky and rude as Safeway. I always leave this store happy. Thank You Raleys! read more

I spend my hard earned money in here at Raley's in Pleasanton CA, just to be treated rudely and it's unacceptable. the cashier, a heavy set Caucasian woman with eye glasses and blonidish hair, carried on her conversation with the shopper after she bagged his groceries and checked him out. I waited and waited and after sometime he left and, I walked up and she didn't say hello, you could feel that she didn't really want to help me, just a stone cold face. I was getting ready to pay when a tall Caucasian guy walked up and was very sarcastic about a bag being needed, that I actually didn't end up needing. as I was waiting for him to finish bagging my groceries, my son walked up to take the groceries and seen we had enough room after all. What's really sad is that the night manager or supervisor who had shoulder length brown hair just watched this from the small customer counter. Is this a family run store where they could care less how bad they treat customers? Is this type of behavior okay with the store owners? Not sure why she couldn't say hello but could talk to that guy like she was just so happy. My money spends the same as anyone else's. This has happened twice before, and now again? I have to finally say something about it. Employees like her and the sacked shouldn't work with the public. I hope the store manager runs the video to look back at this event. it occurred tonight, 12-1, around sevenish, I have dark brown hair and had on black leggings and a black jacket and my son wore a beanie, eye glasses, black shirt and blue jeans, he walked up toward the end of my transaction. The price tags in the liquor/wine department are deceptive. The actual price is pale and the buy-6 is bold. You have to look closely to see the actual price. Best grocery store in the Dublin/Pleasanton area hands down. It's definitely not the closest grocery store to my house, but so worth it. The store is amazing, huge selection and decent prices. They have all the name brand products that you've come to expect which a certain competitor refuses to carry for some dumb reason. One stop shop for weekly items. Can't beat the produce quality outside of Berkeley Bowl which is 30+ miles away. Great grocery pickup service, too! read more

I have called almost every Raleys off the 680 to find a meat department that will do "special requests." I typically like to have the pork shoulder roast ground up and to save the bone. The raleys near my house doesn't do it, the one in Walnut Creek doesn't do pork cuts. This Raleys meat department service is top notch! It takes some planning and advance notice, but they were able to happily accommodate my request. I am very happy. It does take me 40 minutes round trip to come out here but since it's the only Raleys who would do what I request, I am happy. Service here is top notch and everyone is great. I've been going here for years and now lately using their drive up shopping service. They always hire sharp friendly people here and we get greeted nicely every time we come here. They supply fresh and lively produce and meats. Slightly higher end over the big names stores nearby. read more

Entering the store: The store has wipes for you to wipe your carts, but according to the worker who scolded me, "they are already wiped." I would disagree and wipe myself to make sure :) The store was really clean and everything was pretty stocked up. There wasn't an item I couldn't find and everything is easy to find. Though, I wouldn't say if you need help, you can find someone easily. Hmmm..time to checkout! What's nice is they have markers for people when they stand in line to help socially distance everyone. They have shields for the workers, I suppose to protect both you and the cashier. I love their selection of food when it comes to their combo meals. You basically get one entree and two sides. For my entree, I usually get their meatloaf or like a protein salad. Their meatloaf here is delicious, flavorful, and moist. Sometimes, I just buy a whole meatloaf and put that bad boy in the oven when I get home and that will make a meal for two. Of course, I'll have that with veggies and brown rice from home to make it a real meal. The protein salads I usually get here are: 1. Chicken Curry Salad 2. Tuna Salad Even though the two above are "meat salads," they are still a great option because they are generous with how much meat you get in the salad. Recently, I saw they added a new side dish which is like a "couscous salad" and I have come to really like that as well. It has a citrus like taste in it that I enjoy. This time of pandemic has been strange to say the least. Just going into a grocery store can feel like a harrowing adventure; a risk of life and limb all for a gallon of milk and a few boxes of cereal! And yet there are stores and then there are stores. Raley's stand head and shoulders above the fray. First, they work really hard to ensure that those coming into the store wear a mask! I can't begin to tell you how many grocery places could care less! Second, unlike their competitors, getting a delivery from here is not a challenge! The Safeway app gets an "F" for failing to live up to it's purpose. But not Raley's! Mind you, when ordering one should be specific: "Yes, I want milk, but not a gallon that is ready to expire in two days!" That's been my experience on occasion and this is a "buyer beware" warning rather than much a knock on Raley's...they use a third party to deliver. I also like the people who work here: Helpful, courteous, kind, cheerful, thrifty...It's like Raley's is the good boy scout of yore. What I appreciate the most about this store is it's convenient location. It's right off of the freeway so it's pretty easy to access. This is also the only grocery store I know to stay open past 8pm during Shelter in Place. All of the employees have always been helpful and they have a solid selection of desserts to choose from. I only had to stand in a crazy long line ONCE since COVID-19, but all of the other times I've attended its been pretty quick and easy to get in and out of the store. The downside is that their prices are high and their organic produce is lacking. I typically only purchase my staple items from then when it's on sale, or I'll go their for a quick errand if I don't want to drive too far. read more
