I am honestly not sure why I have not written a review yet. Our visits here have been pleasant each time. They have so many wonderful cheeses to pick from, and their staff is super good about sampling cheeses before buying, letting me take the time I need to decide how much to buy snd what I want purchase. The friendly staff also do a great job of explaining about the cheeses offered so it's also a fun experience to learn about the cheeses too. They also have a few shelves for everything that goes with cheese, including quality chocolate and rustic shortbread cookies. Highly recommend!

I am rarely in the area, but would come back more to visit and support this local business for my cheese and charcuterie cravings. Everyone at this shop was so helpful and provided tasty recommendations. Don't be afraid to ask questions regarding the portions and flavors of the cheese! I let them know my preferences skew towards softer sheep's and cow's milk and we sampled a variety of soft to medium textured cheese before making our final selection, settling upon the signature 4-year cheddar and Tentaction. The cheeses went well with a fresh baguette and the Brooklyn beef charcuterie I tried as well.

We love cheese mongers that actually build a board off your preference rather than a set selection! Our host selected some fun funky ones we might be hesitant to buy blind. Loved all the accoutrements too! We brought home some sausage. This is our second establishment we've visited on the California Cheese Trail, and we'll be back when in town!

This is a fantastic little shop with really well versed staff in cheese! They will give detailed descriptions on their cheese, meats and offer wine pairings as well. This place has everything you need for a very incredible charcuterie board. They also have an ever changing selection of cheeses as well. Their cheese board is 27$, 25$ for happy hour and I would really recommend as a chill date activity.

One of my really good friends recommended for me to try the Cheese Parlor. I made it a point to check it out next time I was in LIvemore. We stopped by The Cheese Parlor around 6pm on a Friday night. I thought the Cheese Parlor was just a cheese market. It surely was especially with its beautiful display case of curated cheeses, but I didn't realize that the Cheese Parlor also had a bar! My bestie and I stayed for a cheese plate and a glass of wine. The cheese plate included 4 types of cheese and 2 meats. I told the server that we liked hard and soft cheeses, but we were open to really interesting, funky cheeses if they had any. Our servers did not disappoint in putting together a unique assortment of cheeses from all over the United States. I don't remember the names, but my favorite was a type of mild cheddar with a texture like butter. The cheese plate also came with accompaniments such as jalapeno jelly and different types of pickled veggies. Everything was tasty, and we cleared the entire plate. I really appreciated that The Cheese Parlor offered types of meats not made with pork, so as a non-pork eater this makes charcuterie hard to come by. That being said, they had a beef prosciutto and a duck salami that I enjoyed. Lastly, I was highly impressed by how knowledgeable the staff members were of their cheese. I know that they have to be albeit part of their jobs, but I thought it was especially cool how descriptive they were in explaining the flavors and textures.

Love, love this place! Brandon and team are so knowledgeable about all the products, and so nice and helpful. It's a pleasure shopping and eating there. They are generous with providing samples of most anything you want to try. Their selection & quality of cheese and cured meats is great. You can find everything you need for an awesome spread with all the accompaniments of chutney, pickled goodies, olives, spices, and even chocolate. Not to mention if you eat there, all the local beer and wine selections! I haven't been there for lunch yet, so I haven't tried the sandwiches, but they always look amazing and on Wingen bakery bread, you can't go wrong. When it's busy, it gets pretty loud inside, but most places are these days. My family recently rented the store after hours for a private party and it was great! Brandon is so easy to work with and very accommodating. It was a small event, but everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the wonderful food and drinks.

I made a quick stop here when I was in the area on Saturday afternoon. Picked up two kinds of Pilsner I read about somewhere. I also wanted cheese but it's the hardest thing to choose just one when ALL in the showcase look good, so I asked one of the cheese mongers for his recommendation. The triple cream Brie was the best!! Thank you!! The staff here is very helpful and kind. Had to leave in a hurry this time but will return for in store tasting soon :-)

We had a great time at the Cheese Parlor! Tried out their cheese plate, charcuterie plate and sparkling wine flight. Everyone loved it! Fun ambience, terrific food and really good service. We will be back!

Something smells stinky in The Cheese Parlor... and it is actually a good thing because cheese should stink. Anyways, this was round two of our Downtown Livermore crawl. We had been planning to check out The Cheese Parlor after we first came across their platters at nearby wineries. Then we heard they had opened an actual store where they serve cheese and booze. So we had bookmarked the store with the intention of checking them out. We finally got the chance today, Saturday January 28, 2023. Sadly, our experience was rather disappointing. When we walked in it was a bit confusing where to order. A small sign said to start at the back of the store. From there you can order cheese platters, a la carte, or takeout options. We ordered a cheese platter and decided to get some beers. They said it would be about ten minutes. The beer menu is on a small blackboard and hard to see. And with people sitting in front of the beer menu it was a bit awkward so I just took a photo of the menu rather than hover being other customers. The beers were poured right away and we sat at one of the two high top tables. And then we waited. We even waited as we watched a couple that came more than 15 minutes after us receive their cheese platter before us. WTF? This irked me so I went to the counter and asked what was going on and was met with a response that it was coming. It was here that maybe they realized their error and brought out a few pieces of cheese for the mistake. Let me pause and say that in a small bar it shouldn't be hard to distinguish which customers arrived first. And if that is so hard to figure out, have a better POS system or handout numbered placards. When the platter eventually came out I even mentioned that I felt we were skipped. Instead of being apologetic for the error, the server responded that they were busy. This is what pissed me off. All she had to say was one word: sorry. I guess in this day and age, people just don't apologize. As she proceeded to explain the cheese platter I honestly dgaf. I can explain how the cheeses were good and the ghost pepper salami was too spicy for a platter. But the service is what I will remember most. I want to support local, but if this is how you treat customers then whatevs. Sucks when the service is stinkier than the cheese.
