Small but cozy wine bar. They share the space with a Slanging Dough Pizza which is VERY convenient and DELISH! Staff are all nice and super friendly. Only critique is that I wished they had a better wine selection or offered ciders - so many Livermore wineries close by.... I would probably hang out there more if the wines were better. ATTENTION: something to keep in mind.... there is a brewery next door that refuses to share patio space with the wine bar, so check with the wine bar to see where they divide the line. I've been here a few times and have yet to be really impressed by them. I was really disappointed when asking for a cider they had and they served it in a can with a warm glass. Almost every time I've been to a beer or wine bar or even a cider house they always serve drinks in a chilled glass. This isn't the case with wine of course. So I was surprised an establishment in Livermore that serves many beers and ciders would do so. The atmosphere of the place was decent. The bar is in the back and you have to pass an area in the front to get to it. If you didn't know it was there or wasn't sufficiently curious you might turn around and leave without finding it. Overall if you're on the square and specifically wanting wine then this is the place to go. If you're looking for beer or cider and wanting it served correctly then you should look elsewhere. read more

It was my first time here and I absolutely loved this little place. I am so glad we randomly found it.! We stopped just for a drink and ended up getting food as well. I got the sangria with bubbles on top! What a genius idea by the way, sangria and champagne!!!! win win! We also got some corned beef sliders and a giant pretzel. I have to say that pretzel with cheese was one of the best pretzels. I think I might have ever had. I might go back just to eat another pretzel.. The service was great and I liked how casual it was. And there was not enough time to buy more glasses as the next group of Yelpies were going to arrive soon, so we came here instead. Quality/Quantity - The F-bomb $13 - Wow, it was so good. Exceeded both our expectations. Wines I got: Cloudline Pinot Noir - 2 glasses, okay I am drinking way too much! First glass $15, second glass was part of the Yelp check-in $10 flight deal. Again, what a GREAT value! If I was better at checking in before ordering... I would have only gotten just the flight; it was way too much wine for one day. Tooth and Nail Red Blend - Good. I tried. A month ago on a lovely sunny Saturday I met my bff in the square for some drinks and lunch. I ordered my food on the QR code on the table and 45 mins later I still had no food. I ordered one special flatbread. I went to check and they said they had an error and just got the order, cool, maybe come outside and let me know it was delayed. So I waited another 10 mins for them to finish my flatbread and at this point had to take it to go. Fast forward to tonight, my friends and I met down there again, my bf got a burger from the food truck, we ordered the spinach dip and the f bomb sandwich. The spinach dip, while a misnomer, is basically garlic bread with spinach dip on it, was delish, the F Bomb was what we were saying once we received it. The focaccia was so thin, at least 1/3 of its previous thickness, over baked and so crunchy. We were searching for the prosciutto, they cut basically one slice of prosciutto into thin strips for $16. 0 stars, do not recommend, I'm only giving it 2 stars because the spinach dip was good. The secret cake was so good we debated each getting a slice, but decided to also try some of the ciabatta with lemon curd, which was light, bright, and wonderfully balanced. What a cute place to enjoy a girls day! I came here with my best friend and we squealed when we saw they had frosè floats (frozen rosé) on the menu!!! Such a fun drink and it was perfect for the weather. Although the sugar contents was a little high for me, I still enjoyed it and it made for really cute Instagram story pictures (yes, we absolutely took a class clinging boomerang). They also have a nonalcoholic mango frozen drink, I ordered that and I added a glass of Prosecco wine to it. That was super sweet but still yummy. I noticed their menu tends to change a lot for example last year their charcuterie board was completely different than this years. Different ingredients and much smaller. I also ended up ordering the truffle popcorn which came in a really big bowl and it was delicious. In addition, we ordered the hummus plate but instead of getting pita bread we had double cucumbers, it was OK. Nothing special and a little pricy for the size. Overall, I enjoyed the drinks at this place more than the food. Which makes sense. The staff was really nice but not too knowledgeable about the food or wine. read more

This is a good place to stop in as you're cruising through Livermore. There are plenty of drink options to satisfy your group and there's not a bad seat in the house- both inside and out. The few times I've been here, they've had live music or some sort of event, so it was always fun! read more

I decided to go here for my birthday with a couple of best friends and was pretty disappointed. I wanted to check it out based on the photos of the charcuterie pictures here on Yelp and what we got was nothing near the pictures. I attached a photo of what we got so you can compare to what is advertised. Also, the waitress totally forgot our hummus order. We had to ask her about it after an hour. She acknowledged she forgot but we decided to just go somewhere else. I will also add that it was NOT that busy. I've dined at busier places with better service. One of our favorite Livermore spots, especially on weekends when there's live music in the square. Everyone that works here is super friendly, always smiling, and always friendly. They truly care about their customers' entire experience. We usually buy a bottle of wine and an appetizer and enjoy the scenery in the square, but we have also been for trivia nights and that's super fun as well! Their artichoke bread is so delicious, and they do a great job with their hummus platter as well! This is one of those places I would recommend to an out of towner wanting to get a good feel of what Livermore has to offer. I love Swirl! My friend and I go here pretty often, as it's kind of a "halfway" meetup point between our two cities, and a great place to hang. It's such a good spot- great ambiance and good prices. I love that they have live music coming back again after a COVID hiatus, and everything is spread and distanced super well. Prior to COVID, there was even more seating and it was fun to have communal picnic tables and such. They have a good selection of reasonably priced wine, and I also LOVE the sangria and the sangria slushees when it gets hot! The food is interesting to me- some of it is really high quality, and then some of it feels like they just opened a grocery store package and microwaved it. That's probably my only knock on them- for the price of the food, I'd go somewhere else in DT Livermore and then come here for my drinks afterwards. The only downside is that sometimes there are drunk morons there with poorly trained dogs who get up in your and your own dogs' space. We've had more than one occasion where someone has let their dog stretch 20 feet away from their table on their retractable leash and come get up in our business (Livermore has a very strict 6 foot leash law, so besides being rude, it's a breach of the rules). This happens pretty much anywhere that's dog friendly so it's not really a surprise, but it's worth a word of caution if you aren't a fan of dogs, or have a dog of your own that isn't a fan of other animals in their face. read more

Arrived around noon on a Saturday, it was not busy but most tables were reserved in the afternoon, so it is recommended to make a reservation. They have a limited food and beverage menu, we had a beer and a glass of wine and the pretzle. The pretzle was 2 pretzles covered in melted cheese and crispy bacon. The young blonde gal (in the pic that's attached - the one on the right) that took our order was so rude, and it made our entire party feel like we were such an inconvenience. The drive to Livermore from South Bay that normally might take 40 min took 2 hours on a Friday late afternoon, so I was ready for some wine! Swirl was the perfect spot to drink my stress away and get a bite to eat before watching Les Miserables at Bankhead Theatre just around the block. We checked in on Yelp and saw they do a wine flight special for Yelpers, cheers to that! Service was quick since we mentioned we had to catch a show, but nonetheless warm, friendly, and very helpful thanks to Vijay. He even customized our wine flights based on our preferences, so smooth reds for me, and dry whites for my friend! With the live music that started up, wine, and delicious food, I almost didn't want to leave for the theatre! We enjoyed the Pesto Hummus w/ warm naan bread, and the Farmer's Plate (with extra grilled veggies and no meat for me) - it came with the perfect amount of artisan cheese, fresh fruit, mixed sweet 'n' savory nuts, and even gluten-free crackers! I am so sad to update my review! We came here again today because we had such a great experience last time and we all got the flights of red wine based on the menu. The waiter gave us all wine that was "off menu" and took the liberty of giving us wine from Livermore instead of Paso Robles, which was supposed to be included. We told him we just wanted the regular red flight and he said the the flight is "up to his discretion" based on prices of the day. He was very rude and implied that he didn't even want our group to stay by asking us several times if we just wanted to go (not sure if this is because we had a baby, we had a mixed racial group, or because we were using the yelp coupon). He also said the sparkling flight was not an option. He was really annoyed we were using the yelp flight coupon and was rude right when we told him that. All three wines we had were HORRIBLE!! I'm not sure if we just got the three cheapest or if the bottles were open for several days, but the wines were just unpalatable. We aren't coming back given the service, the horrible wine, and how uncomfortable the waiter made us feel. read more

I traveled to Livermore for the Livermore Wine Trolley with 5 other ladies and we decided to stop here for dinner after the day's events last Saturday. They had live music and sat us off to the side in a more private area. We ordered the hummus, spinach-artichoke dip, the sliders, fish tacos and the gourmet grilled cheese. Everyone LOVED the food, and they were even talking about it the next day. The service was excellent and only a $6 LYFT (use code: LIVERMOREWINE to get free rides!) from our hotel. I was not interested in drinking any more but the other girls really enjoyed the bread&butter pino that our waitress recommended. As you can see from my first review, I had a really bad experience 7 years ago and never returned. That is until yesterday when I had a truly wonderful time! I arrived before my friends did and sipped on a glass of Pinot Grigio ($8). I had lovely interactions with the employees and felt very welcomed. My friends joined me eventually and we ordered the Artichoke Dip accompanied by warm bread slices. I realized that there was a Yelp check in offer for a $10 wine flight so I ordered a white flight and my friends got the red flight. We'd been meaning to check this place out for a while. Today we were driving down Railroad and I saw Swirl. I was able to negotiate a wild ass U turn and we snugged the VW into the Blacksmith Square lot. Loved it. They have an ever evolving list of LIVERMORE wine and great tapas, small plates, appetizers and whatever else you want to call snacks best served with great wine. I thought the prices were reasonable and the service was friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered hummus and my wife ordered some unpronounceable similar thing. We got the White Flight of wines (white flight means something completely different to me based on a Sociology class I had at SJSU in the early 80s) and they were great. Twice I have been here when there were no seats available which isn't a problem. Skip on over to 3 Steves to do a tasting and wait until a table opens up. Once seated we were served by a man who was a clairvoyant. Not really, but he might as well have been because he chose my yelp flight ($10 with checkin) that had three delicious wines. Pino Grigio from Monterey, Rose from Livermore, and a Muscat from somewhere I can't remember. I couldn't have picked a better flight myself. I also liked the way it was served: one glass with three wee carafes. There are a few choices for beer such as Blue Moon and Stella. You also have the option of getting a beer from Tap 25 and bringing it over to Swirl. With music on the weekends this place has made it to my numero uno spot for getting my wino on. read more
