    Rick the rock
    Dalal J.

Met my husband for a quick lunch date to try this new spot! I had no idea they even existed but online it showed they were highly rated! The place is small and seemed to have only one person working the register and making the food. Figured it made sense since we were the only people at the restaurant. My husband ordered and a sandwich and so did I. Mine was the Rick the Rock. I asked if it was possible to have ham instead of turkey which he said isn't a problem. We sat outside when the order was ready the person running the place yelled across the counter it's ready for us to grab it. Caught me by surprise that he couldn't even bring it to the table. When I looked at my sandwich the ham looked light and I wanted to make sure it wasn't turkey so I double checked. His response was "didn't you ask for ham? I gave you ham why are you asking me again?" I was beyond thrown off by how rude his customer service was. The only reason why I would give this place 3 stars is because they come completely loaded with goodies and are delicious but over $50 for 2 sandwiches is so expensive!!!!

I hired Americano Catering to cater my wedding on June 28, 2026, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing parts of an otherwise wonderful day. Prior to the wedding, I confirmed with the owner that they would arrive between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. so everything would be set up before cocktail hour. I also paid for a service attendant, buffet setup, professional buffet styling, serving equipment, and food service. Instead, the caterer arrived about an hour late. Because they weren't prepared, appetizers and drinks were served about 45 minutes late, and lunch was delayed by approximately an hour. My venue staff had to step in by providing serving equipment and helping with food service just to keep the reception moving. the gather statement.pdf To make matters worse, there wasn't enough food for all of my guests, and several of the taco bar condiments and toppings that were supposed to be included were missing or unavailable. This left some guests without the full meal that had been promised. As a bride, I should have been enjoying time with my family and friends instead of worrying about whether my guests were being fed. It was incredibly stressful and disappointing. After the wedding, I reached out to the owner in an attempt to resolve the issue, but I never received a response. Sent _ iCloud Mail.pdf I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe couples deserve to know what my experience was. Weddings are once-in-a-lifetime events, and reliability, preparation, and communication are essential. Unfortunately, my experience with Americano Catering did not meet those expectations.

    FRIDAY I'M IN LOVE

Not gonna mess around with this review. This was simply one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Driving through Livermore looking for a good sandwich, and yelp recommendations came through for me! This place (obviously) has great reviews so I decided to go. And it certainly meets the hype The staff was very friendly--I let them know it's my first time there so I needed a bit of time to look over the menu--and they were very helpful letting me know the options. I got the Friday I'm In Love and it was amazing. Great size, absolutely packed with meat, amazing flavor. This was a 10/10. The garlic spread was delicious, the slaw was seasoned very well, and everything was very fresh and flavorful. Dutch crunch also had great texture. My only possible complaint was that the meat wasn't very evenly distributed as you can see in the pic, but that's a very minor complaint. To reiterate, this was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Unfortunately I'm not very close to Livermore, but anytime I'm close by in the future, I absolutely want to stop by again. I highly, highly recommend this place for a sandwich!

Californian on Sourdough ($18.25, 2/5 stars)
    Melanie H.

You know how bread makes or breaks a sandwich? It was a total miss here. The sourdough was so soggy and lacked sourness so it was really bland. Initially I thought maybe the bread was soggy because of my very loaded Californian sandwich, but we ordered another sandwich that didn't come with slaw or cheese and removed sauce, and even THAT one was still soggy. I even tried retoasting the bread but to no avail because it still tasted far from sourdough. Really wanted to like this place and support a local business. I had high expectations for the quality given the prices and ratings. I'll give it to them that they use quality deli meat and have a fun menu with homemade sauces, hopefully they can continue to improve. One thing to note is you can't sub for a different sauce. PASS: + Californian ($18.25, 2/5 stars) felt very overwhelming to me with flavors mixing from the heavily vinegared slaw, Swiss, and garlic herb sauce

Solid sandwich shop in Livermore - we stopped by earlier this month after going paddle boarding nearby at Shadow Cliffs. We were seated right away, but they were understaffed and it took them a long time to take our order. When the server finally stopped by, we ordered drinks, appetizers and a few sandwiches, which arrived soon after. Our favorites: - The Americano: superb classic Italian sandwich. - Philly Cheesesteak: our teen enjoyed this. - BLTA: get this on Dutch Crunch! The appetizers (jalapeño poppers, arancini) and sides (onion rings, fries) were either under or overdone, but the sandwiches more than made up for it. Doing takeout next time.

Most terrible service I walk in and he is forcing to take our order. We wanted calamari and he said we have no calamari, pasta, or chicken. 'It sure why it's on the kiosk to order on your own. They advertise this place to have pasta also but I got here and sat down noticing that there signs for what they have are crossed out. Tf is this place $50 for terrible sandwiches. See all these awards but for what lmao. Took him 20 minutes to make 2 sandwiches.

Is it worth the $$$? Not to me. The sandwich was just ok. I had the King Kong, Hubby had the chicken parmesan with a lemonade and a side of fries, our total was $55. The fries were tasty. If it had been a huge sandwich, busting with ingredients, tasty, not thrown together and big enough to share....maybe. Perhaps their italian dishes are great, but I won't be finding out. Service was good..but the bathroom had a horrible smell, like sewage.

We were out in Livermore shopping at the outlets and wanted to grab some dinner. Italian was the theme and Americano was the choice. I chose Americano because of it won an award with the SJ Mercury. What I didn't realize was it won for their sandwiches. LOL. What do you do when it's dinner time and you go to a place known for its sandwiches? Order pasta. And if you haven't had pasta at Americano, you should!!!! The tetrazzini was fantastic. It is a baked dish with chicken, cheese and fettuccine. Just a delicious combo. The portion is large so deintiely shareable with two people. We also had the Rigatoni Bolognese (also a shareable portion). The bolognese was touted as homemade and you could tell. Bolognese is really about the time you give for the meats, tomato sauce and herbs meld together. And I can tell this one wa made with care. The place itself is mall with maybe a capacity max of 30-40. There was one server last night and she was busy. This place has nonstop sandwich orders to go. There was a constantly folks coming for food deliveries and to go orders. Our order took a little time but I could tell both pasta dishes were made to order, so I didn't mind. The sit down ambiance was very relaxed and homey in style. It's too bad Americano is all the way in Livermore, I'd deintiely want to try their sandwiches.

Came for lunch with coworkers and was not disappointed! Had the meatball sub on Dutch crunch and it was MASSIVE, and awesome Tiramisu too - just bummed they didn't have ice coffee to go along with it. Alexi was super friendly and provided amazing service. Will definitely be back, and probably cater some office lunches from them too!

I truly dislike having to write this, but today's visit was by far the most disappointing experience I've had at Americano. While their new kiosk design is sleek and modern, it shouldn't come at the cost of attentive service--I felt entirely overlooked. I've been here before, and although the sandwich construction was never stellar, today was a low point. I ordered the Tiger Woods sandwich and paid an extra $4 to add avocado. What I received looked like it had been carelessly assembled: the sandwich was sloppily cut, spilling out most of the ingredients immediately. The bacon was barely cooked--fatty and limp when it should've been crisp--and the avocado? I'm guessing they added a quarter slice at best. It was nearly absent. The entire experience made it feel like there was zero pride in the food's preparation, no care or thought put into it. When a business claims to make the "Best sandwiches in the Bay Area," they ought to stand by that promise. Sadly, this wasn't anywhere close. I sincerely hope the team takes this feedback to heart. Simple attention to detail--better cutting, properly cooked ingredients, and thoughtful service--can make all the difference.

Does the meatballs and lasagna have pork in it?

Nope, they only use beef (sirloin steak).

Has anyone ordered a pan of lasagna or chicken Parmesan? Considering it for an easy Christmas Eve dinner. Thanks

Looking for a semi quiet place to go for a first date. Do you recommend Americano?

Yes! We had out first date there in 2018 and now we're married! The inside couldn't be more cozy/intimate; they play old Italian love songs all day, you can't miss. The place is perfect. The only thing worth considering is the time. If you come in…

Do you have a "special menu," with proceeds going to humanitarian aid in Ukraine?? If so, would you post a copy?

Yup, they've been doing it for the past couple weeks.

    Is the tiramisu homemade?

    Yup!

Can you get sandwiches for dinner or only at lunch?

    Dinner and lunch! 😍

    What is americano slaw?

    Italian-vinaigrette cole slaw. Amazing!

Has this joint got their liquor license yet? Or at least beer and wine?

Yes! Sipping a beer right now!

The tacos are on petite, single shells with a piece of fish, avocado and cabbage slaw on each. I happily ate every bite. A side salad would have enhanced this dish. I wish I had ordered an appetizer, like the deviled eggs or brussels sprouts, as it would have rounded out my lunch well and it would have been more filling. For our mains we split the radiatori pasta and the steak. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce tasted more like butternut squash instead of sweet corn and tomatoes. It was still good but not quite what we were expecting. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and the mashed potatoes and herb butter were the ideal pairings. For our sweet treat, we split the milk and honey, which was a vanilla ice cream topped with honeycomb. This was SOOO good and maybe the best part of dinner. The food was excellent, and I would absolutely recommend giving this place a try. The servers were attentive, efficient, and did a great job delivering hot food, clearing tables, and accommodating several vegetarian modifications without issue. Unfortunately, what should have been a wonderful dining experience ended on a disappointing note due to the manager's behavior. We had a simple question regarding our bill and asked for clarification. The waitress brought over the manager, who immediately assumed we were requesting a discount--which was never the case. With a bill exceeding $100 and an automatic gratuity already included, we were simply seeking an explanation, not asking to save a couple of dollars. Hospitality is about making guests feel welcomed, respected, and valued. While mistakes and misunderstandings can happen, making assumptions about customers and responding in a dismissive manner falls short of that standard. The manager's attitude felt disrespectful and judgmental, turning what had been a very positive experience into a negative one. A restaurant can serve great food, but genuine hospitality is what brings people back. The servers delivered that hospitality throughout our visit; unfortunately, the manager's interaction at the end overshadowed an otherwise excellent meal. We also shared our concerns with the waitress before leaving, as we felt it was important for management to be aware of how this interaction impacted our experience.
