The ordering system is casual--you place your order at the counter, and then they bring your food to your table. They had some weekend and seasonal specials, which was a nice touch, and the café has both indoor and outdoor seating. I loved that they even had blankets available outside for anyone wanting to stay a little warmer. By the afternoon, there weren't many pastries left, so unfortunately I didn't get to try any of their gluten-free options. What I ordered: a lavender lemonade and their Lizzy's Grits special. My friends got the chia pudding with a side of bacon and a latte, and a turkey panini with a side salad. Our food came out in about 15 minutes, and everything looked fresh and delicious. I ate every bite of my grits special--it was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. I also tried their hot sauce, but it was more vinegar-forward than I like, so I'm glad I didn't put it all over my meal. This is definitely a cute spot in downtown Livermore. So on our way to SF this weekend we stopped in Livermore for a quick bite. We found this place, nice ambience downtown, and had easy parking close. For brunch my wife had the avocado toast, she absolutely loved it. I had the ham cheese and pickles...Now, if you love pickles, like I do...this is for you. If not, do not get. But for me, I loved my sandwich and loved the pickles. For drinks we got some lemonades, mine regular, my wife lavender. We came here for brunch post yoga. While the line seems long, it moves pretty fast so don't be alarmed! We were worried about seating, but people are pretty respectful and leave when they're done eating. I appreciated the little fly fan deterrents that were placed on the tables. I usually go to visit the Pleasanton Press because it's closer to my house. Also, this location is way busier on the weekends - so take note of that. And it's harder to find parking. But when I'm in Livermore and I want some good coffee, I typically come here still. I did have a few hiccups with my last two orders recently, but that's not always the case. The coffee was delicious so was the gluten free donut but the sandwiches we ordered we weren't too thrilled about them. We tried the Albacore Protein Salad, which featured Hobbs wild-caught tuna salad, baby arugula, a Burroughs farm egg, radish, carrot/cabbage slaw, tomato, onion sprouts, and a lemon pepper vinaigrette. It was super fresh and perfectly balanced -- light but satisfying. The toastini is basically like a knox bagel but with toast. It is super refreshing and aesthetic to look at. The bee sting salami panini had hot honey drizzled on it and had melty cheese and salami inside. Paired with a side of tomato soup made this such a savory delicious meal!! The graham cracker latte was also very tasty and visually appealing! I loved the espresso taste and the honey and cinnamon taste! As we walked up to the place, I felt a nice Sunday brunch kinda vibe even though it was Monday. We couldn't find parking in the immediate area, so we drove around and ended up parking a couple blocks away. I guess a lot of people took time off for the holidays. Even though it was very busy, we were able to find seats at the big table shared with other customers. The drip coffee offered 2 flavors... Dark roast and other option was like honey something... Of course I opted for the dark roast... Lol. We also got some cold water at the self service station. Coffee was very good! In about 5 minutes, they brought out food. I got to taste the Apple and Arugula Salad which was very refreshing. The light dressing with apples mixed with arugula... Yummmm! It was definitely better than my side salad, but I loved both of my panini selections. The flavors of the Maitake mushroom with melting cheese and the crisped bread with their panini press was delicious! The other sandwich selection, turkey pesto, was just perfect! The pesto flavors with melting cheese and the delicate turkey slices were just exquisite. This is a MUST sandwich. There's no mistake about their name! I remember going to the Pleasanton location back in high school and never got the chance to go back. So I decided to try out the Livermore location since I was in town for something else. I ended up getting the Honey Bee Sting Panini, and half Berries+Honey Lemon Ricotta and half Strawberries Lemon Ricotta Toastini. Staff was super nice and let me know that I could do half and half when I asked which they preferred. I love sourdough and salami, so I may be biased, but the Honey Bee Sting Panini was amazinggg. What a great combination that was so mouthwatering I had to finish it. I'll also say, it's like 2 sandwiches in 1, since it's double stacked. They're thin but filling so a steal! The sandwiches also had a good amount of salami in them, along with tomato and onion. The honey is smothered on the outside of each sourdough slice, so definitely be prepared for a sticky mess. The only critique I have, and it's minor, is that I would have liked just a bit less honey. The sweetness contrasts well with the salty but sometimes too much. The ricotta toasts were delightful and stacked with fresh fruit. They were also scarfed down, though I think these could have used a touch more sweetness. Overall, I'm so glad I came back after so long. Everything I got was delicious and I'll definitely be back for the salami sandwich. The place was packed when I went but I didn't have to wait for seating. Tables were clean and water is self-serve. "At first, it looked like a lot of bread for this sandwich, but as you took a bite of it, it was a flavor explosion of the crunchiness of the bread, freshness of all the vegetables but it was all tied together with the olive tapenade which provided a salty, briny taste that was the star of this sandwich." Tomato Jam - this was very good! I am glad I tried it. Slightly sweetened with apple juice, Apple sauce, apple cider vinegar, or something like that gave it a sweet yet tart taste.
