So on our way to SF this weekend we stopped in Livermore for a quick bite. We found this place, nice ambience downtown, and had easy parking close. For brunch my wife had the avocado toast, she absolutely loved it. I had the ham cheese and pickles...Now, if you love pickles, like I do...this is for you. If not, do not get. But for me, I loved my sandwich and loved the pickles. For drinks we got some lemonades, mine regular, my wife lavender. We came here for brunch post yoga. While the line seems long, it moves pretty fast so don't be alarmed! We were worried about seating, but people are pretty respectful and leave when they're done eating. I appreciated the little fly fan deterrents that were placed on the tables. I came on a weekday so there was easy street parking and no wait, but by the time I left there was a line out the door. My friends got the chia pudding with a side of bacon and a latte, and a turkey panini with a side salad. Our food came out in about 15 minutes, and everything looked fresh and delicious. I ate every bite of my grits special--it was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. I also tried their hot sauce, but it was more vinegar-forward than I like, so I'm glad I didn't put it all over my meal. This is definitely a cute spot in downtown Livermore. Parking can be tricky, so I'd recommend using a nearby garage (it's free). On our drive to San Francisco we stopped by Livermore to have lunch. I found The Press on Yelp, it had some good reviews. The coffee was delicious so was the gluten free donut but the sandwiches we ordered we weren't too thrilled about them. I got a breakfast Sammy with sausage but the sausage tasted weird and I didn't like the tomato jam on it. I should have said to not use it. My husband got a ham and cheese grilled sandwich and said it was ok. Not great but not bad either. Location is good, ambiance is good and customer service is good. Friendly and attentive staff. I had a very rare day off from work due to a doctors appointment but my grandmother in law still wanted to watch my 15 month old. Say less. After a foot massage, I came to The Press for an early lunch and it did not disappoint. First off, the staff this random Monday were all SO fun and kind. I don't know if it's just always a happy place, but everyone had a smile and was ready to chat. I ordered a lavender drink (delicious) and the Nordic. I usually go to visit the Pleasanton Press because it's closer to my house. Also, this location is way busier on the weekends - so take note of that. And it's harder to find parking. But when I'm in Livermore and I want some good coffee, I typically come here still. I did have a few hiccups with my last two orders recently, but that's not always the case. We love visiting The Press, and the Livermore location is hands-down our favorite -- it's nestled right in the heart of downtown, which gives it a much better vibe compared to the Pleasanton spot tucked into a market plaza with views of the parking lot. This visit did not disappoint -- everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. We tried the Albacore Protein Salad, which featured Hobbs wild-caught tuna salad, baby arugula, a Burroughs farm egg, radish, carrot/cabbage slaw, tomato, onion sprouts, and a lemon pepper vinaigrette. It was super fresh and perfectly balanced -- light but satisfying. The Beet & Quinoa Salad was equally impressive with organic arugula, red and golden beets, quinoa, a seed medley, Laura Chenel goat cheese, and a side of house balsamic vinaigrette. The flavors were bright and earthy with just the right touch of sweetness from the orange segments. We also shared the Turkey Pesto Panini on Acme organic wholewheat sourdough -- Hobbs nitrite-free roast turkey, tomato, provolone, brie, house pesto, and aioli. The toastini is basically like a knox bagel but with toast. It is super refreshing and aesthetic to look at. The bee sting salami panini had hot honey drizzled on it and had melty cheese and salami inside. Paired with a side of tomato soup made this such a savory delicious meal!! The graham cracker latte was also very tasty and visually appealing! I loved the espresso taste and the honey and cinnamon taste! Overall I would definitely come back because this place was really good! As we walked up to the place, I felt a nice Sunday brunch kinda vibe even though it was Monday. We couldn't find parking in the immediate area, so we drove around and ended up parking a couple blocks away. I guess a lot of people took time off for the holidays. The girl are the counter was nice and took our orders confirming everything we ordered. We ordered the panini with 1/2 Turkey Pesto and 1/2 Might Maitake Mushroom with side of organic sitting mix salad, and the Apple and Arugula Salad. It's so nice that they offer half and half selection option on the panini because we get to taste 2 flavors in one order. Even though it was very busy, we were able to find seats at the big table shared with other customers. The drip coffee offered 2 flavors... Dark roast and other option was like honey something... Of course I opted for the dark roast... Lol. We also got some cold water at the self service station. Coffee was very good! In about 5 minutes, they brought out food. I got to taste the Apple and Arugula Salad which was very refreshing. The light dressing with apples mixed with arugula... Yummmm! It was definitely better than my side salad, but I loved both of my panini selections. The flavors of the Maitake mushroom with melting cheese and the crisped bread with their panini press was delicious! The other sandwich selection, turkey pesto, was just perfect! The pesto flavors with melting cheese and the delicate turkey slices were just exquisite. This is a MUST sandwich. There's no mistake about their name! It's definitely The Press, panini press that is.... I will definitely be returning here when I'm in town next town. And if you don't know how to be with customers you will lose customers.
