I came here for Mother's Day brunch. As expected, there was a wait since I did not have a reservation. But it only took 30 minutes for them to place us at a table. so this visit was a bit disappointing. I've heard there may be new ownership, and things didn't seem as consistent. I ordered the crab benedicts and a mimosa pitcher. The benedicts came on small slices of sourdough with crab and egg, but were very bland and missing the hollandaise sauce, which made the dish feel incomplete. My sister's meal was just okay. On my way to the goodguys car show I wanted to pick up a quick breakfast. I was thinking to go. Upon arriving at the restaurant there was a lot of clientale eating. Once I glanced at the huge menu, we changed to eat there. The huge amount of foot traffic is a sign of good food. On this day I would have to agree. People literally got up and left their tables in droves due to lack of service. People waiting to be seated turned around and left as waiters passed them without even looking their way. Came here on a Sunday morning around 10:30am - got seated right away. There were a couple staff getting trained and that's how we met Rahul. Since I've read some mixed reviews on the Country Fried Steak, I asked Rahul if it was good lol. Rahul gave very honest opinions and I decided to give it a try. We also got the Corned Beef Hash Skillet, a Belgium waffle and a side of French toast. The Country Fried Steak is different from the other ones I've had. It's not thin & coated in bread crumbs, but instead thicker & had a thin layer of batter. Since the batter was so thin and the entire piece of meat was covered in the very delicious gravy, there wasn't really a crunch. The steak also had a chew (which I didn't dislike) but I can see why some reviews thought that it was not tenderized enough. I did enjoy the dish, however, I also think that it would be even better if the steak had a crispy exterior. The Corned Beef Hash Skillet was delicious. Instead of the corned beef in one corner, hash brown in another and eggs, everything was mixed together well. We went to the Pleasanton location for breakfast and everything about the visit was nice. As soon as we opened the door a smiling man greeted us and told us to pick any seat we wanted. Another man came and took our order, then we looked around and thought the atmosphere was pleasant and colorful without looking too busy. It was honestly the worst I've had. I couldn't taste the crab meat at all, and both the bread and the hollandaise sauce were lousy and tasteless. I'd recommend skipping this one. * French Skillet Dish: My wife ordered this with country-style potatoes. It was "decent," though it's worth noting they serve it on a regular plate rather than an actual skillet. * Drinks: We ordered a vanilla latte and a pistachio latte. The pistachio latte was served lukewarm initially, but to their credit, the staff was happy to swap it out for a fresh, hot one. Ambiance & Facilities: The overall look and feel of the restaurant are very nice, which explains the crowd. For my sandwich, I would have liked it more if it was fresh cranberry sauce instead of canned cranberry sauce. And unique bread choices instead of plain white bread, or at least bread that is toasted to prevent sogginess. Soup was a bit thick. The pancake was also ok. Four stars though because we had really good service. Tried this place out for a weekday holiday lunch. It was pretty empty, even at lunchtime. There are lots of parking spots in the shared lot, but it was more crowded than usual. This was our first visit to this place, so we could've done a better job ordering. DH got the California Benedict ($23.49) with country potatoes. He liked it, but thought the portion size was too small. It seemed to be well executed, but I wasn't a fan of the preservative taste in the crab. Country potatoes were cooked well, nice even chunks, soft on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. Seasoning was fine. Probably would try a different dish next time. There's a little bit of spicy bits, perhaps jalapeños. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. They did not toast my sourdough bread as requested. I would order this one again. The kids could not decide which pancake they wanted so we got one red velvet and one chocolate chip. Waitress told us these were $6.99 each, however, that was just for the base pancake. She didn't say that there is an additional $2.99 charge for any specialty pancake. The pancakes were very large, but they ended up being $10 each. Grrrrr. The red velvet pancake seemed a little undercooked in the middle. The chocolate chip one did not have the chocolate chips evenly distributed throughout the pancake. Other than that, they were pretty fluffy and the kids enjoyed them. I visited on Friday, Aug. 22 for breakfast to kick off a little weekend getaway with my mom for my birthday. The restaurant is artsy and clean, with plenty of space. Our 1st time here 5/11/26. So sorry we didn't take pictures of our meals. I ordered the chili Relleno dish. It was delicious and the chili Relleno was one of the largest I've ever had with gooey stringy cheese. The beans & hash browns were good too, I only wished the hash browns were crispier. Next time I'm going to try the chili Relleno burrito. My friend had a burger & fries, she liked it so much she ate it all! The service was great and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Visited on a Sunday morning and luckily no wait time for a party of 4. The parking Sunday morning was plentiful. The atmosphere is fresh, seating space decor is clean and vibe is cheery. Our server Alexis was friendly and checked on us often. He even offered to suggest options in case we needed assistance. The breakfast menu contains all the usual suspects: waffles, pancakes, eggs Benedict, plus they also serve lunch items, alcoholic drinks, and lattes. I'll definitely come back to try the Biscoff Latte and Ube Latte. The food portions were generous and delish- not greasy, soggy or salty. The menu is comparable to another Bay Area bfast spot Bill's, but dare I say I like the vibe and food here better! My sister ordered the Crab Benedict and mentioned the crab is fresh lump meat, and suspects it's not from a can. It was light and sweet and super good. Visited Toast and Grill for a relaxed brunch date with my wife and had a really enjoyable experience. When we arrived, most of the restaurant was empty, but it gradually filled up, which is always a good sign. The ambience is pleasant, with high ceilings and lots of open seating, giving the place an airy and comfortable feel. We ordered the California omelette with an upgraded chocolate chip pancake. The omelette was made fresh to order and came out piping hot. It was flavorful and satisfying, paired with country potatoes that were well seasoned and complemented the dish nicely. The pancake was huge, fluffy, and perfectly cooked--crispy on one side and soft on the other. It wasn't overly sweet, which we appreciated, and it was a delicious way to end the meal. We also tried the Biscoff latte. The coffee flavor itself was very good, though it felt a bit thin--I was expecting something slightly thicker and richer. Overall, it was a great brunch experience with good food and a nice atmosphere. We'll definitely be coming back again. read more

Review #890 Posted on 6.18.25 We came here for Father's Day lunch on Sunday the 15th. This spot was super packed, as described in many reviews on their page. They don't do reservations here, probably smart, why do that when you're going to be packed either way. Once our whole party arrived we were able to get sat. It was a nice day, but still a bit hot. We asked if we could move our table out of the sun, and they were happy to oblige and let us. Their menu is huge, it's got endless choices, which is a great thing. I felt bad for our server, you could tell he was on top of things, but the food took quite a while, then at the bottom of our drink there was broken glass. Poor guy. The food was really good, as was the friendly staff, I'd come back for sure. read more

I really wanted to like this place but it fell short in a couple of instances. It was packed so I took that as a good sign. We were told there was a 45 minute wait so we walked down to Starbucks. After about 20 minutes we were seated. Fantastic. The inside is nice with lots of tables. As I said earlier filled to the brim. Service was slow, understandable being it was Father's Day, but not coming back with coffee and needing to be reminded and then not coming back until being flagged down for more. Asked another server for WiFi code watched him go to another server, point to us, no one ever came to give us the code. Asked another bus boy for extra napkins. He acknowledged my request but never came back. Had to ask another server who finally brought them. Food took a long time to come and when it did my eggs Benedict came last, 5 minutes after the other 3 meals. We had to remind our server for the side of hash browns. Food wise, the prosciutto Benedict and the sweet Benedict were good along with the breakfast sandwich. The chilaquiles were under seasoned. The sides needed a lot more seasoning. The country potatoes as well as the hash browns. Hash browns were a large portion but undercooked with very little crispness on the outside. Final wait came trying to get the bill. Took a long while to get our server over our way to pay. I will chalk up the delays and food issues to the sheer number of people eating here today. They do make a mean Bloody Mary. read more
