Chorizo and eggs B-fast
Tomas C.

On my way to the goodguys car show I wanted to pick up a quick breakfast. I was thinking to go. Upon arriving at the restaurant there was a lot of clientale eating. Once I glanced at the huge menu, we changed to eat there. The huge amount of foot traffic is a sign of good food. On this day I would have to agree. The portions were huge, the flavor was delicious and the service was prompt. We sat at the bar and ate since it was busy and order Chorizo & eggs and a breakfast Molcajete. Both items were a hit. This will be my new breakfast spot when I am in town for the car show. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast, you will not be disappointed.

Housemade Country Fries Steak and 3 Eggs

Food, delicious. Service, on point. I was in the area for work and stopped in for breakfast before flying home later that day. I was taken care of by Celso and he was great. The perfect amount of attentive and kept my drink perfectly full. I had the country fried steak and it was delicious. The gravy had a good flavor that made me want more, but I didn't. The restaurant was calm that early in the morning, but you could tell it was going to be hopping later in the day. The music was the right volume so you could talk and not have to yell.

Monte Cristo Sandwich
Scotty D.

Hard to find a Monte Cristo sandwich anywhere these days but to my surprise they have one and it's frigging scrumptious. I definitely recommend this one if you're a fan of this classic underrated sandwich. Made me feel like a kid again. I will be back for this!

Corned Beef Hash Benedict

Came here with a group of friends after jiujitsu across the street for a little breakfast before we headed out for the day! They were able to quickly seat our party of 8 (4 adults and 4 toddlers) and take our drink orders. My husband and friend had the Mango Cart beers with the rim dipped in Chamoy and Tajin, they both enjoyed it. I had an iced mocha coffee, which wasn't really worth the price, it was a bit water downed and didn't taste anything like mocha. My husband ordered the country fried stick with hashbrow and side a bacon -- he said it was pretty good. I had the corned beef hash Benedict's, which was pretty good, the has brown could've been a bit more crispy but it was decent. My son had the French toast with bacon from the kids menu -- he clearly enjoyed it because his plate was cleaned!

This place has declined substantially.. service is absolutely horrible. The worst experience I've ever had or seen in a restaurant. People literally got up and left their tables in droves due to lack of service. People waiting to be seated turned around and left as waiters passed them without even looking their way. We waited for 30 mins before having a waiter help us. Then another 45 mins before food arrived. We honestly should have left. I have 2 stars because the food was just as tasty as always. And more waiters did arrive to help right as we were about to leave and they were extremely apologetic.. Regardless.. I don't think we will come back.

Corned Beef Hash Skillet

Came here on a Sunday morning around 10:30am - got seated right away. There were a couple staff getting trained and that's how we met Rahul. Since I've read some mixed reviews on the Country Fried Steak, I asked Rahul if it was good lol. Rahul gave very honest opinions and I decided to give it a try. We also got the Corned Beef Hash Skillet, a Belgium waffle and a side of French toast. The Country Fried Steak is different from the other ones I've had. It's not thin & coated in bread crumbs, but instead thicker & had a thin layer of batter. Since the batter was so thin and the entire piece of meat was covered in the very delicious gravy, there wasn't really a crunch. The steak also had a chew (which I didn't dislike) but I can see why some reviews thought that it was not tenderized enough. I did enjoy the dish, however, I also think that it would be even better if the steak had a crispy exterior. The Corned Beef Hash Skillet was delicious. Instead of the corned beef in one corner, hash brown in another and eggs, everything was mixed together well. The only thing I'd say is that it was called a skillet but wasn't served in a skillet lol. Rahul was great, friendly and attentive. Super appreciate his honestly - you'll do great! Hope to see you next time!

Patio big enough for a large crowd

The first time we came here, we said we would definitely be back. Well, we finally made it. Here is my updated review for this visit. Interior & Ambiance Toast Cafe & Grill makes an immediate impression the moment you walk in. The interior is clean, modern, and airy -- a minimalist aesthetic with warm touches that keeps things from feeling sterile. Cushioned bench seating lines the perimeter alongside classic restaurant chairs with padded seats, striking a balance between comfort and contemporary style. The lighting is good, the floors are spotless, and a couple of well-placed flat-screen TVs add energy without overwhelming the space. The decor is fresh and cheerful, giving off a vibe that one reviewer aptly described as "cozy but classy." The full bar adds a welcome dimension -- great for mimosa flights and specialty lattes -- and the air conditioning is kept at a genuinely comfortable level, a small but telling sign that management doesn't cut corners. Music plays at a pleasant background level, and the overall energy is lively without being chaotic. This is a professionally run establishment, and it shows in every corner of the room. Outside Patio Toast offers two outdoor seating areas -- one on the side and a smaller section out front -- making it a strong option for diners who prefer al fresco dining or want to bring their dogs (there's even a dog menu for patio guests). The outdoor atmosphere is pleasant, and the side patio is big enough for a large crowd. Parking is available in a shared lot and is generally manageable, though it can fill up on busy weekend mornings. Service Service is where Toast consistently earns high marks -- and occasionally stumbles. On its best days, the front-of-house operation is a model of coordination: hostesses described as efficient and proactive, servers like Marco and Alexis praised by name for their warmth, attentiveness, and problem-solving instincts, and floor managers circulating for water and coffee refills without being asked. The staff communicates well as a team, and there's a noticeable sense that everyone is present and engaged. On busier days -- particularly holiday brunches -- some reviewers experienced slower check-ins, forgotten silverware, or coffee that never arrived. These appear to be volume-related growing pains rather than a systemic issue, and the staff's willingness to make things right (swapping out a lukewarm latte, proactively addressing a potato crispiness request) speaks well of the culture. The Dishes We tried 3 brunch entrees: Fresh Garden Skillet (Hashbrowns, sautéed mushrooms, asparagus, spinach, onion, tomatoes, topped with egg whites, green onions, avocado, sour cream, and cheddar cheese) The Fresh Garden Skillet is one of Toast's most beloved items -- and for good reason. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are well-balanced, and the portion is generous enough to share. The combination of sautéed vegetables over hashbrowns with creamy avocado hits a satisfying sweet spot between hearty and wholesome. It's a standout choice for vegetarians and a crowd-pleaser for anyone. The only negative was a small dab of sour cream and a lack of cheddar cheese, but I still enjoyed it. Crab Benedict (California Benedict) (Grilled sour baguette, fresh lump crab, two poached eggs, house hollandaise, paprika) The Crab Benedict it is genuinely excellent: fresh, flaky lump crab that's light and sweet with no fishiness, perfectly poached eggs, and a smooth, rich hollandaise that doesn't overpower. The grilled sour baguette is a smart alternative to the usual English muffin, holding up better under the sauce. We were seriously impressed with the portion size and the quality of the crab, it appeared to be fresh, not canned. The Crab Benedict is one of the kitchen's signature achievements. It is worth every penny. Huevos Rancheros (Crispy tortillas, refried beans, 2 eggs any style, queso fresco, salsa) Simple, satisfying, and executed with care. The Huevos Rancheros at Toast earns praise for its flavor balance and its foundation: a genuinely crispy tortilla that doesn't go soggy under the beans and eggs -- no small feat. The refried beans are present but restrained, letting the eggs and salsa carry the dish. Queso fresco adds a mild, creamy counterpoint. We appreciate the option to choose egg preparation style. The accompanying potatoes could stand to be a little crispier. You can add a protein (tri-tip is popular) to make a bigger breakfast. This was unnecessary as we had extra that we had to take home.

The food was so good! I really liked what I got and the portions were huge, great to take home. There definitely is a reason why the line was long! Everyone was polite and friendly. There were a few birthdays when we went, including our party! We got a tower mimosa (forgot to take a pic) and that was so fun

Carnitas Skillet
Christine C.

Got a garden veggie skillet and husband got the carnitas skillet. Both were very good and generous portions. Seen a bunch of other people order waffles, sandwiches and mimosas. All the portion sizes were good. The mimosas are definitely popular and they had different flavors too. A lot of items on the menu and would definitely come back to try something else. The ube latte I got was strong too! Decently sized place. It was busy but nothing crazy. Ambience is good too. A few big screen tvs with the games on and a mini bar as well. There is a parking lot and it wasn't full for Saturday brunch. Giving it 4 stars cause it took a while to flag down a waiter to give us some utensils. Several other staff passed us and no one paid attention to us.

Green Chilaquiles

We went to the Pleasanton location for breakfast and everything about the visit was nice. As soon as we opened the door a smiling man greeted us and told us to pick any seat we wanted. After we sat he handed us menus and asked if he could bring us beverages. I ordered coffee which he brought right away. It was our first visit so we asked a few questions and he knew all the answers. Another man came and took our order, then we looked around and thought the atmosphere was pleasant and colorful without looking too busy. Three tvs were playing three different shows, including retro cartoons. There were lots of tables, some of them maybe too close together for my preferences, and a good sized bar in one corner. I bet it's busy and loud here on a weekend. When the food came out it was plated in such an appetizing manner! Portions were hearty, the food was fresh, and it tasted great. I got green Chilaquiles and they were a tad on the spicy side for me, but I loved them anyway. The chips were soaked in sauce yet still crispy. It came with hash browns and an egg, which were lovely. I'd come here again for sure.

Busy Holiday Brunch with Mixed Results We stopped by Toast Grill around 12:30 PM on a holiday Monday. The place was absolutely packed, which usually is a good sign! Luckily, we were able to get a table for two immediately, but that's where the "speed" ended. The Service & Timing: It took about 15 minutes after being seated for a waiter to check in with us--and that was only after we reminded them we were ready to order. Our food arrived about 20 minutes later, but without silverware. We had to wait another 5 minutes for them to bring some, so our dishes were unfortunately getting cold by the time we could actually eat. The Food: * Crabs Benedict: This was a major disappointment. It was honestly the worst I've had. I couldn't taste the crab meat at all, and both the bread and the hollandaise sauce were lousy and tasteless. I'd recommend skipping this one. * French Skillet Dish: My wife ordered this with country-style potatoes. It was "decent," though it's worth noting they serve it on a regular plate rather than an actual skillet. * Drinks: We ordered a vanilla latte and a pistachio latte. The pistachio latte was served lukewarm initially, but to their credit, the staff was happy to swap it out for a fresh, hot one. Ambiance & Facilities: The overall look and feel of the restaurant are very nice, which explains the crowd. However, the restrooms were underwhelming--specifically, they were quite dirty and only had one urinal, which isn't ideal for a high-volume brunch spot. Final Verdict: We were initially excited because the place looks great, but the actual dining experience was just "okay." We aren't giving up on it yet, though; we plan to return one more time with the kids to try some different dishes and see if it was just an off day.

Yeah Toast!

Eat here! This place was great! Clean, friendly, lots of options on the menu and the food was tasty!

Turkey cranberry sandwich
Joyce S.

We came here for a Sunday lunch, and what a fun place to hang out! The restaurant itself is in the corner of the Pleasanton Gateway Shopping Center, ample spaces in the parking lot. Restaurant was well decorated with a nice festive tree for the holidays. Indoor and outdoor seating are both available. They have a pretty extensive menu. I ordered a soup (clam chowder) and a half sandwich (turkey cranberry), and also fresh squeezed orange juice. I also got a few bites of the Oreo pancake from my partner. Portions were good, and ingredients were fresh, but what I ordered didn't particularly stand out. For my sandwich, I would have liked it more if it was fresh cranberry sauce instead of canned cranberry sauce. And unique bread choices instead of plain white bread, or at least bread that is toasted to prevent sogginess. Soup was a bit thick. The pancake was also ok. Four stars though because we had really good service. Our server was really helpful, patient to explain what was on the menu and answering questions, giving adequate time for us to pick what to order, and checking in frequently to make sure we have our orders and anything else we need. He brought his team over to sing happy birthday to someone in our party, and gave a complimentary birthday waffle. I really appreciate how the staff were really friendly. Overall we had a good experience, and I would take friends here for a hangout meal for ambiance and service

Do you have gluten-free bread/rolls?

I asked about bread options for the toast. They have white, wheat, and sourdough. No mention of gluten-free.

Do they allow dogs?

There are several outdoor tables, which I know pups enjoy.

A Fantastic Family Brunch Spot in Downtown Pleasanton!…read more Tucked away on a charming side street just off Main Street, Le Palais Sucré is an absolute gem. We stopped by around noon on a Saturday and were thrilled to be seated immediately--which is a massive win for a weekend! Despite getting a table right away, the place had a great energy and was filled with people enjoying their brunch. They have plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. The food and drinks completely delivered: * The Chocolate Bonus: My son ordered this, and it was a showstopper. A chocolate crêpe packed with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella, then topped with chocolate syrup and powdered sugar. This was hands-down one of the best crêpes we have ever tasted--absolutely heavenly! * Chorizo Omelette: My wife and I shared this, and it was divine. It was served perfectly warm, cheesy, and loaded with spicy pork chorizo, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and pepper jack cheese. * Mushroom Galette: Our second shared item was a savory buckwheat crêpe filled with mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms, and red onions, all topped with a gorgeous sunny-side-up egg. Another really good, flavorful dish. * Ham & Eggs: Ordered by my daughter, this came with a side of home potatoes and garlic toast. It was a solid, decent option that rounded out the table well. The Drinks & Service We ordered a Vanilla Latte and a Caramel Latte. Both arrived extra hot and featured some beautiful art on the foam. The vanilla latte in particular was exceptional--honestly one of the best we've ever had. To top off a wonderful meal, our waitress, Jocelyn, was incredibly nice and attentive throughout our visit. I definitely recommend Le Palais Sucré if you're looking for a fantastic spot for a family brunch or lunch. We will absolutely be back!
