Came to The Hangar for an early Mother's Day dinner with the family (we celebrate Saturday instead of Sunday) and this was hands down one of the WORST restaurant experiences we've ever had. First off, this is NOT on the staff working. We genuinely felt bad for them. Management thought it was a good idea to schedule ONE bartender and ONE server on a packed Saturday night. The entire place was chaotic, customers were visibly irritated, TVs throughout the restaurant stopped working, and the poor employees were drowning trying to keep up. The stress was palpable that made the experience stressful and not enjoyable. Absolute management failure. At one point I used their self-pour beer wall and poured myself half a Modelo only for it to come out warm I was able to find another beer that was actually cold... but still charged for the warm one. The food was somehow even worse. We ordered the barbacoa nachos, wedge salad, and a kids burger with fries. The kids burger was the only edible thing. The wedge salad was drowning in ranch like someone emptied the whole bottle on it. Tomatoes tasted old and gross. Then came the nachos... tiny portion, bland chips, barely any cheese, no mango salsa like the menu claimed, and the "barbacoa" -- if you could even call it that -- was tough, fatty, and completely inedible. $74 later for one appetizer, one salad, one kids meal, and 1 1/2 beers. We only tipped because we felt bad for the server. We will NEVER be back. Thanks for ruining our Mother's Day dinner. read more

Our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. Our server, Dana, provided very poor service throughout the evening. Several items in our order came out incorrectly, and a couple of the steak strips were cold. The kitchen was extremely slow. Our burgers took about an hour to arrive, even though there were only two tables in the restaurant at the time. The burger meat was also overcooked, almost burned.To make matters worse, an order of bacon we requested was completely missing. When it was time to pay, Dana was unable to process our payment, so we had to use the machine ourselves. We were also expected to handle the payment for the beers on our own. Overall, it felt like there was essentially no service. When we asked whether the tip was already included (which it was), she said no, as if she was expecting additional money. In most restaurants we've visited, staff clearly inform guests when gratuity is already included, especially for larger parties like ours (we were a group of eight). Overall, we had a terrible experience and will not be returning. Considering there were only two tables, a one-hour wait for burgers is completely unacceptable. It was only after we voiced our frustration that staff began asking if we wanted water refills or more drinks ...something that hadn't been offered earlier. It's a nice space with tall ceilings, open air, big patio, and huge screens above their beer garden. However, when we went there wasn't anybody. We ordered two bloody mary's which weren't on the menu but they were kind enough to make it. It was a decent drink. Our waitress was nice but the reason for the low ratings was honestly such disappointing food. Steak Sandwich 1/5 the bread wasn't toasted so it was just kinda gummy. it was supposed to be dutch crunch but had no crunch. I will say they put a good amount of steak on there, but it was just a tad too rare and cut up in these thick cuts that made it too chewy, which nice thin slices on a sandwich makes it more chewable. got the side salad option and that could have been very nice, it had pomegranate, frisée, cheese shavings, and a fruity vinagrette. If they had cut the greens with some arugula or spring mix, it wouldn't be JUST the bitter from the frisée. Smash Burger 3/5 again, the bun wasn't toasted, and i wouldn't call it a smashburger, it was more a cheeseburger. Which it was a good cheeseburger because it didn't have the lacy crusty edges. the chips we got with it weren't fresh and crunchy. pretty sure they were sitting out a while and they prepare ahead of time so it wasn't fresh anymore. read more

It's a pour-your-own beer/cider (maybe wine too? I didn't check) place, but there are TONS of choices. The staff is super friendly and helpful too, they make this place a standout for sure. We didn't expect to eat but after a couple of beers, we were hungry and I'm glad we did. I had the crispy hot-honey chicken sandwich and it was fantastic. We checked out The Hangar in Livermore today and I have to say I really like this spot! We went for lunch, drinks, and to watch the Niners game, and everything was great! Great food, a huge "self-tap" selection of beer, wine, and ciders, plus a full bar and a solid comfort food menu. They also have multiple large TVs throughout the space, making it a great spot to watch sports! The highlight for me was after the Niners beat the Eagles (sorry Eagles fans) , the owner gave everyone in the restaurant a free round of tequila shots! Such a fun, unexpected touch that really stood out to me. It's the small gesture that stand out in my mind that keeps me coming back to places like this. We ordered the TBA sandwich, the Steak sandwich, the Lemon Pepper Chicken wings and the Thrice Cooked Fries. Everything was sooooo good! The wings were nice and crispy and the fries were also just crispy enough but also fluffy and hot inside. We had do many different styles of beers and ciders so I can't name any that I had off hand but they were all really good! I also saw that they are going to be having mixed drinks on tap soon too! Finally, the area is starting to get filled with great businesses. The Hangar SFO is definitely one of them. When I first saw the ads, I assumed it was on the other side of the airport. But this place is a stone's throw away from the Outlets. Pro tip all you husbands - tell your wives you're gonna walk around the mall for a bit while they shop. Then make a beeline for this place. I'm not known for leaving reviews, but I had to make an exception for this one. Let me start with the good. Alcohol selection was plenty, and the food was decent in terms of presentation and taste but it's a bit overpriced for the portion. Now let's talk about the service. The waiter for our table was great. He was respectful, attentive and what you expect from a full service restaurant. Things got interesting when our friend's family decided to join us. The table next to us opened up, so we requested the staff to change table so we can be seated closer together. Now, I can understand if this is a difficult ask if the restaurant was full and had a backlog of reservations. However, there were plenty of open seating available along with a complete empty patio. The staff mentioned there will a 20% fee for switching table (which turned out to be a 18% "service charge" on the bill). This is the first time I have ever heard of a "service charge" for requesting a table change. Speaking of the empty patio, they had a cornhole set out there for customers to enjoy. My wife and kid along with the other family went out there to play for a while only to have the doors locked behind them. The reason the staff gave was they did not know there were guests outside. It was business hours. You should've never locked those doors. At the end of the night, we had an alcohol tap overcharge on our bill along with the 18% "service charge" for our friend's family. And I forgot to mention that it was a special "boxing event" night on Netflix which the restaurant never advertised nor were informed by the staff at the time of seating. They claimed that was the reason why they could not be more accommodating. We were there for a good time with family and friends for a night of Giants/Dodgers rivalry baseball, and it turned out to be a night to forget. read more

The Hangar SFO was excellent option to have after a busy day at the outlets. Getting to that side from outlets was a mission almost impossible, parking on the restaurant entrance side was also limited due to construction. But aside from the short distance, long mission to get there the in restaurant experience met expectations, I do recommend and would definitely be back. So as soon as you walk in, you are welcomed by a friendly hostess, the interior decor and awesome looking long tap of self serving beers and vibes are very warm and elegant. We were asked where we like to sit and we chose a regular table at the left and corner. I sat facing the sun, so it was right on my face for a bit but eventually the sunset hit. We had a very nice waiter that came over to bring us water, explain to us how the tap and pour works, then took our order. As a person that is semi retired from the craft beer world, I can say that the beer selection was ok, they had a few local craft beer options, wine and margarita like drinks. However, I hope that they will expand as their establishment starts to grow and become busy. They did have room to add more pour options. So I'm hoping that they consider adding some Russian River options, and even some hard kombucha would definitely fit their esthetics of their establishment. The food was great. Well I only tried the thrice cooked fries & pesto chicken pizza which were both great options. Perfect combo of food to pair up with a fresh pour. We needed a place that could accommodate a group of about 20, allow separate checks, and still have good food and The Hangar delivered. We used their semi-private room, which was ideal for standing, mingling, and sitting to eat without being in the way of other guests. The staff was friendly and accommodating, checked in to make sure everything went smoothly, and genuinely seemed happy to host our group. I wouldn't hesitate to return for another group outing or even just a night out for two. The only downside was being charged for fountain soda (not cans) refills. Our designated driver ended up with a $20+ bill just for soda, which isn't typical and should have been mentioned when refills were requested. Because of the soda issue, I considered giving four stars, but the team went above and beyond by treating our group to a round of free shots. Following our New Years resolution of new places we stopped by The Hanger. We got there at opening so we were the 2nd to arrive but by the time we left more people had arrived. I'm not a beer drinker so we sat at the bar. If you love beer, the choose your beer by walking up to the taps and pouring your own is pretty cool but if your not adventurous or would rather be served than serve yourself this may not be for you. Maybe the waitress at the table will serve you if you don't want to experiment, don't know. If some of the taps are wine I'd give those a try if I can do tastes like at Peltier Winery where price is based on the ounces allowing you to try a few to see what you like. In conclusion this isn't a bar I would hang at because I felt like everything was happening behind me. I get that facing the wall is how most bars are, which is why I prefer a U shaped bar but to me it's more of a family place or a place to go with friends for lunch but it's not a bar to have a few drinks and relax so if we go again we will grab a table and a sandwich and watch some sports on their many TV's. The bar itself is small and not what I look for in a bar and that was what I was looking for this day. The bartender however was very friendly and helpful, even giving me appetizer suggestions and when the manager wanted to turn on the overhead lights she said no and I agreed. There is nothing worse that a bright headache bar, feeling like it is 2am and time to go. I like it more dimly lit, more ambiance and since it is two walls of windows the overhead lights were not needed. My vodka soda was reasonably priced at $8 and a Jameson and Ginger was $10. I'm not paying $15-20 for a two item drink combo. For that price I need something more special, you need to have done some muddling or something. We ordered the Loaded fries with that excellent orange sauce. Next time I'll add a side of sauce for those dry fries underneath all the goobers. As for the fries themselves they say they are "triple" fried but they don't beat my favorite kind of fries. I call my favorite fries bubble fries but I have no idea what they are really called, they feel like they are double fried or something. Came here with my wife on a Friday night and we were instantly greeted and seated. Momo and the service staff were very attentive and constantly checked-in with us to see if we needed anything.. There's a huge variety of self-serve beer on tap and 5 big screen TVs on the wall. We ordered ribs, pepperoni flatbread pizza, and the bacon penne pasta and they were all delicious! What started out as generally promising quickly went awry in every way possible. The location itself is perfectly fine and it's a simple pour house decor. No complaints there and the staff was generally friendly to begin with. We ended up ordering a plethora of appetizers and a kids meal for our child and figured we would just share a bit of everything with each other. Overall- everything is VERY salt heavy. And we are people who enjoy a good amount of salt. Cajun butter shrimp- the shrimp itself was cooked well. The crostini they advertised is actually just 2/3 very small baguette chips. They weren't large but just your standard sized shrimp you might get in the frozen isle at a grocery store. Burger kids meal- the best thing they produced the whole time. Lemon Pepper wings- they come with 5. Decent size and cooked well but these were LOADED with salt. They tasted brined so I think brining them, and then frying and salting and then adding more salt with the lemon pepper sauce was overkill. - we also waited 45 minutes for the wings. The wedge salad- it's like a 1/4 of an iceberg wedge. Comes with smashed tomatoes, olives and a dill based dressing. - this was sent back as it was inedible according to the person we were with that ordered it. The house salad- very small. The vinaigrette is supposed to be a pomegranate vinaigrette but it was mostly red wine vinegar. Not the worst- just very small and had very little in terms of the topping advertised. - this was also salty The loaded fries- lol. We waited an hour for those things and called it quits after about the 4th inquiry. So no idea how those might taste. ( they made sure to try to charge us for them, though) Pepperoni flat bread. - not a flat bread. It's a personal kids sized pizza with canned sauce, raw jalapeños and some flavorless caramelized onions. - the flavors didn't come together and for the cost- it was not worth it at all. Wine and beer on tap- general options. No huge complaints except being charged like $23 for 6 total oz of wine. Alright- so aside from the food being as salty as the Pacific Ocean, it would have maybe been worth a second shot except here is where the wheels fell off completely: 1: when I found our server and asked to cancel the rest of our order and for the check, he came back 5 minutes later with the illusive loaded fries and two other appetizers we didn't actually order. - we did previously ask how long it would take if we ordered the other two but he didn't come back with an answer so we had no idea he put it on our tab or to the kitchen to make. Before he could put it on the table I politely told him it's really not necessary and we would prefer to just have the check as I already requested. Minutes later, the manager or owner ( not sure) came over and tried to convince us to take the food, which we declined AGAIN. And once again just asked for our check so we could pay and leave. We then saw them give all of our food we declined to another table right behind us. Which means one of two things: you either tried to give us their food to begin with, OR you're gross and try to re-serve food from another table. The server had a few reasons as to why the food coming out was so slow/ inconsistent. First he said it was because it was fight night. He later said it was because the kitchen was short staffed. All could be true. But I didn't want an excuse, I just wanted to pay the bill and leave. THEN when he brought the check- THEY TRIED TO CHARGE US FOR THE FOOD WE DIDN'T RECEIVE, and that inedible salad that was sent back. He initially tried to contest the salad but I had to flat out tell him it was disgusting, which is why we wouldn't be paying for it. It wasn't eaten and was given back after trying one bite. Now, I get they're still new. I can understand the limited staffing. I can also see why they as a small business also want to make sure to maximize and also not take a hit on food, as everything's so costly. But- the food was trash, and the service ended up being damn near as bad. For $145.00 in appetizers, wine, beer and an espresso martini- we were better off going anywhere else. Which- we did Went across the street to Glasshauzzz. WORLDS better. Spend your money there, or literally anywhere else in that complex. - don't waste your time and money here. You'll wind up hungry, bloated from the exorbitant amount of salt and ripped off from the pricing of what may or may not make it to the table. read more

We were so excited to enjoy the food and drinks once more from our favorite people formerly from Bistro 135!!! Danny is a mastermind of cocktails. I had the pleasure of trying his concoction; pepper infused tequila, which he turned into one of the best margaritas I've had and I will definitely be back to taste the island spin on the espresso martini!! :) And to Jesse, our Favorite Chef!!! We've missed your delectable dishes!! Your culinary vision is only getting better!!! That Hot honey chicken sandwich paired with the beet salad, left us feeling completely satisfied! And that goat cheese add in- I'd definitely eat that alone! The service and ambiance was also very pleasing. I did love the outdoor patio and ohhh did I forget to mention, they got 70 beers on tap!!! I'm speechless at how incredible this place is. The restaurant industry has changed so much over the past few years, and it's hard to find great service and truly good food anymore. Everything here is made in-house and incredibly fresh. The owners are also some of the kindest people I've met. One of the owners noticed there was a lot of foam in my beer -- even though it was my own bad pour -- and still brought me a brand-new one, insisting I keep both. His wife also came by our table, shared details about how everything is made from scratch (including the dressing, chips, and more), and made us feel so welcome. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with a gorgeous bar and a fantastic beer selection.
