    POG spritzer & red ale
    Elizabeth L.

Just what we were looking for, beer & food! Saw, from other Yelpers!, that the Grilled Cheese of the week was popular and today's was perfect! Late lunch after tax appointment in Brentwood and going thru Livermore is always nice. If earlier we would have strolled thru town. We sat out front since such a nice day. Greeted and sat right away. Offered menus and my husband ordered a beer while I went restroom. This week's GC was Jalapeño Popper. So glad we split, with a side of onion rings. Perfectly grilled with all the cheese oozing out just enough. Husband enjoyed the Red Ale and I had the POG Spritzer from a local winery, very refreshing. After we walked in to check out the Beer Can Collection. Wow, amazing amount of cans. Tables and bar did look inviting so we may come back and sit inside next time. Servers were all kind!

Our family was in the area looking for a sports bar pub to watch the 49ers vs Rams game. We decided to eat and watch the game at First Street Alehouse. We arrived for a Sunday lunch at the restaurant recently. First Street Alehouse is located in a nice area in bustling downtown Livermore. There is accessible parking available in the back parking lot and street. The restaurant is spacious and has traditional modern pub decor. There is a variety of beer can displays and keg handles all around the walls. TVs are all around the bar area which makes this a great environment to watch football. We ordered a pork carnitas sandwich, Rueben sandwich, and a kids chicken tenders. Everything was delicious. My carnitas sandwich was scrumptious with every bite. The wifey's Rueben sandwich was also tasty especially with the extra 1000 island dressing dipping sauce. The beer battered fries was nice and crispy. Overall we enjoyed our experience at First Street Alehouse. The service was friendly and accommodating. There was a family friendly vibe and a local spot favorite feel to it. The beer selection was solid as well.

Good service and good food. Place is a bit noisy but this a great place to eat, have a beer and watch sports!

It was a busy Saturday. We waited about 15 minutes for an outdoor seat. My southern friend chicken sandwich was good. Loved the Cole slaw and pickles. My kids burger was fine. Good fries. My garlic steak fries were super yummy. I ate them all. My husband was disappointed with his Thai steak salad. Wasn't what he hoped for when I read anothe Yelp review saying it was good. Liked eating outside though. Nice watching the weekend crowd go by. And the singer with her microphone. Fun downtown.

A beautiful Sunday. Spending a little time with my girlfriend Miki and exploring the town of Livermore. I love this place! My bf and I stopped by today for a quick meal and a couple drinks. We ordered an Apricot lager, Watermelon Sangria, Mango Serrano ceviche and some Cajun fries! The service is very respectful, and quick. The ambiance is very relaxing because of the music and atmosphere. Highly recommend coming here!

One of my favorite spots to hit up in the area if you're craving some good burgers & beers. Definitely recommend!

Overall: 7/10 Food: 8/10 I got the grilled cheese of the week which was "The Ranchero". It consisted of sourdough fried with chorizo, tater tots, pickled jalepenos, American and pepper jack cheese with a choice of side. The side I got was onion rings. The crust of the grilled cheese came out crispy and there was plenty of meat on the inside. I did feel like it lacked a little bit of cheese to be called a grilled cheese. The pickled jalepenos offer a slight but very manageable spiciness. Onion rings were slightly bland and slightly soggy but did contain plenty of real onion on the inside. Environment: 9/10 A classic brick house sports bar with plenty of TVs. TVs could be a little bigger and the speaker system in the restaurant is a little weak. There are however plenty of seats and the sports bar filled up very quick. Service: 10/10 The waitress gave me the perfect amount of time to look over the menu before asking me what I wanted. She brought me an ice cold water immediately after I sat down and was constantly refilling my Coke Zero through the night

Great food, great service, chill ambiance, can't complain to be honest!! Such a chill place to stumble upon while we were in downtown Livermore. Had your typical bar-like, dive-ish bar kinda vibes, but the food was solid!! Ur go to American food but sometimes thats all you need especially when you're STARVING lol. Definitely recommend for those "night out" type meals when youre bar hopping or just walking thru downtown.

Haven't been to First Street Alehouse in some time and it was a reminder that it's always a solid choice when you're in the mood for a sit down meal in downtown Livermore. The burger i ordered was solid and a decent size! My only critique would be it was lacking a sauce or just a touch of salt. Other than that our server was wonderful and really made us feel welcomed. We look forward to our next visit!

Great ambiance, not too noisy--friendly service. On a Friday evening, we were seated quickly, and the service was fast. We went straight to the main courses and drinks; we skipped appetizers. The burgers were outstanding--you could tell they were grilled by the char flavor, which is so delicious. The fries were different and better than those at other places, with a light batter coating. The drinks were good--especially the root beer on tap, which was very tasty (the best root beer ever). This is now my new favorite spot for burgers and root beer.

    Crab melt special

A Livermore classic right in the middle of downtown Livermore. I always opt for alehouse whenever I'm craving their beer battered fries. Came here with some friends from out of town on a Wednesday night. It was packed as expected, but only had about a 20 minute wait for a table of 3. We looked at the instagram and saw they had a crab melt special and we were instantly sold. This crab melt was amazinggggg 10/10. Unfortunately it was just a special so it's not part of the regular menu. It paired perfectly with the beer battered fries and left all of us full. Keep on the lookout for their daily specials on instagram!

The apple cider mule was better in my opinion! I think the next time I come back, I'll stick to the food, but fantastic experience nonetheless! Also server for the table next to me almost elbowed me in the head several times while attending to his table. Most certainly accidental but still an undue hazard. One that I will definitely risk again for those deviled eggs.

The ambience always is great, good music, good crowds, always something to watch for those who just want to kick it and have a drink. The reason for the three star review is that I cant help but notice that the quality and portioning of food has diminished from prior experiences i had here in the past years. To make it worse, prices have only gone up due to inflation. We had the rednexican nachos, burnt ends, sliced brisket ends and fried oreos. The nachos and the fried oreos were great as usual, but the entrees, not so much. The temps were off and the taste was not there, it has not been for the past two visits for us. Not sure if it's the product itself or the preparation of it, but it's just not the same quality i was used to. It's still a good spot to visit, but I wouldn't recommend it as a go to BBQ spot in the Livermore area.
