Came here on a whim while in Livermore and sad to say it was very disappointing. The ambiance is very nice and lively and service is wonderful. However, the food was not enjoyable at all. Ordered their seasonal latte (banana cream) and it just tasted like milk and stevia :/ The waitress remade it and it tasted exactly the same but in a bear cup The waffle is way too sweet and super dough-y. Wow this place stunk. Unprofessional and low effort. First thing I noticed walking in the door was the person behind the bar. She was wearing a Seattle tourist Tshirt and bright pink booty shorts. She looked like she was going the gym, not to work at even a low end restaurant. Turns out she was the manager. We were sat inside at a table close to the window. Not next to the window, there is only one window table in the restaurant with a window and that table was occupied with daycare. At what should be the best indoor table in the restaurant there was a mother with three children, one of them about 5 and the other two between 10-13. They hadn't ordered anything, they were just sitting there with a couple plastic cups of water. The children were constantly getting up and playing and then coming back. I'm guessing that they were the family of the hostess, as between customers the hostess would sit at the table with them and eat. Hostess really shouldn't be eating in view of occupied tables to begin with, and burning the best table in the place for daycare is again, unprofessional. I ordered a cocktail, big mistake. A simple frozen lemonade with whiskey from their drink menu. The drink didn't arrive until after our food and it arrived in a snifter. A snifter is wrong glassware for a frozen drink. Do a little homework. Very little lemon syrup and even less whiskey in the "drink". I truly doubt there it had more than half an ounce of whiskey. It was a snifter of shaved ice for $16. They didn't even bother to put a garnish on it. Awful. From the food menu I ordered a Monica's melt burger and my father ordered a Club sandwich with the charbroiled chicken. The chicken was an option on the menu, not a special substitution. The sandwich arrived with standard sliced turkey. On the menu my burger was described as having 1000 island. It arrived with a garlic mayo and no 1000. The fries were nothing special but fine. The club was $22 and the burger $23. Even if the items had been prepared correctly they would still be at least 25% over priced. As I'm eating a server approaches the women in hot pink bootyshorts and explains another table was upset with their food and wanted to talk to the manager. That's when I learned that the woman in jogging clothes at the daycare table was running the show. If she can't even be bothered to put on professional clothing for work no wonder nothing else was up to par. Would still be disappointing at half the price. My family and I visited Monica's on a Sunday during lunch with a party of six (2 adults and 4 kids). It wasn't very crowded, but we still waited about 20 minutes to be seated. To make matters worse, they were out of chicken tenders something we were counting on with kids in our group so that was already a bit disappointing from the start. We went on a Sunday, around 9am so it was busy but still had plenty of seats outside. It was a very cold and foggy day so I was glad they had plenty of heaters outside to keep us warm.
