From top: Salisbury steak, sourdough bread, and Bourbon chicken
    Kelly M.

We needed a dog-friendly restaurant, and The Bourbon Pear came up in my search, with outdoor tables that provided some much-needed shade. I had the Bourbon chicken, in a mushroom cream sauce and asked for carrots instead of sauteed spinich. It was delicious and the portion huge. My husband had the salisbury steak and he loved it! We paid for the sourdough bread & butter, and it was really good bread. There is a lot a short walk behind the restaurant with plenty of parking. The service was very good as well. We would definitely return when in the area.

We ended up at The Bourbon Pear because we had family in town staying nearby, and what started as a convenient choice turned into a place I'd happily drive back to. The interior was a nice set up. Not too loud but a little low on the lighting. We kicked things off with the hush puppies. They were crispy, hot, and really good... then the cinnamon butter entered the chat. I appreciate the creativity, but my brain couldn't decide if I was eating an appetizer or breakfast toast. Good hush puppies though. The crispy Brussels sprouts were fantastic. I've had a similar version with lemon at Station 16, so I found myself wanting to grab a lemon wedge out of habit. That said, they were still delicious and disappeared quickly. My cousin ordered the Salisbury steak and absolutely loved it. It was cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor. My other cousin had the New York steak and said they nailed the temperature and seasoning. I ordered the Bourbon Chicken, and the flavors were outstanding. My only tiny complaint is the sauce. It was so generous that my mashed potatoes eventually surrendered and became mashed potato soup. I'd still order it again because the flavor was worth it but maybe ask for the sauce on the side. My son had the Southwest Salad and cleaned the bowl, which is about as close to a Michelin star as a parent can give. The service was friendly, the food came out looking as good as it tasted, and everyone at the table genuinely enjoyed their meal. Finding a restaurant where nobody is eyeing someone else's plate with regret is harder than it should be, but The Bourbon Pear pulled it off. We'll definitely be making the drive back to Livermore.

Grilled cheese and a side of smoked tomato soup. Best Tomato Soup I've ever had.

Party of 5 on a Sunday Evening before the dinner rush. We were greeted and sat promptly by a very nice hostess. Our server came over and introduced herself and asked if we would like any cocktails and offered us water and gave us some time to pick out what we would like to eat. He was fast, friendly and attentive. The food here is exceptionally good, especially for the prices. I feel like the prices are very good and reasonable, especially in today's time. On top of the fact that everything that we ordered here on both of our visits have been phenomenal and taste and presentation. The atmosphere is nice. The aesthetics are pretty. It does get a little bit loud, but that's understandable as everyone is there to have a good time and a good meal. We had the Salisbury steak, Reyes, beef, short rib, the flank steak, and I personally had the grilled cheese inside of smoked tomato soup. The tomato soup is literally the best tomato soup I've ever had in my life. The grilled cheese is cooked to perfection and together they are just a wow meal. Can't wait to go back to try more dishes.

Tuesday Jambalaya special. Perfect amount of heat. Be sure to order an extra scoop of rice because it'll soak up that awesome sauce.

A place after my heart. Monday and Tuesday best days to come in, specials both days, all day long. Great happy hour from 2:30-5:30 M-F as well. Staff is lovely; talented, friendly and always ensure their guests have the best experience possible. Food is top-notch. Order the Cajun Fettuccine and add mushrooms, it's one of the best dishes in town. So flavorful, expertly seasoned, chicken remains moist and the pasta soaks up the sauce. Bourbon Pear is in the running for the best restaurant in Livermore and if you wanted to put it in the number one spot you'd be more than justified.

Im back again and enjoying my lunch again! I like the service, the food and the restaurant vibe.

    Black & Blue salad

When a friend from out of town wanted to meet here, I was excited and said yes! It is across the street from the Yin Yin and kitty corner from the Donut Wheel, both longtime establishments. They open at 11:30 and we were the first guests to walk through their doors on this Thursday. The host sat us way in the back. Their menu is intriguing with starters, soups, salads, burgers and entrees. We ordered: Black & Blue salad - romaine, filet tips, bleu cheese crumbles, tomato with crispy onions on top, a very pretty salad. My friend is a huge fan of bleu cheese so this was the salad for her. She especially enjoyed the protein, tomatoes, bleu cheese crumbles as well as the bleu cheese dressing. She mentioned the crispy onions added an extra crunch. The meat was cooked medium like she requested. Sedona chicken sandwich - chicken breast, green chili, cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato with choice of soup or salad. My sandwich was just okay. It was missing that wow factor that I was expecting. Chicken unfortunately did not have much flavor and the bun fell apart so I had to eat it with knife and fork. Service was okay. No one came back to ask how our food tasted nor did they refill my water. The place did get busier closer to 12:30 and perhaps they needed more help? The interior is pretty and tastefully decorated but it gets noisy as the restaurant fills up. My other friend that lives in Livermore gets take-out often from here and she loves their BLT and mac and cheese.

It feels like a very average downtown spot - not terrible, but nothing that really stands out either. The space is pretty tight, the design is forgettable, and the overall vibe doesn't leave much of an impression. Sitting near the entrance was especially uncomfortable since it was drafty and chilly, which isn't ideal on a Friday night. Loved the giant pictures on the walls though. The pricing is on the higher side for what's being offered. Snacks felt overpriced, and drinks being close to $20 set expectations that just weren't met. Food-wise, the loaded bread was left behind on the table and didn't get much attention, and the hush puppies came out a bit dry. Service was all over the place throughout the night - sometimes attentive, other times disorganized which made the experience feel inconsistent. Overall, it's an okay option if you're already in downtown Livermore, but the value and experience don't really match the prices.

Yum! Yum! Yum! Brought my parents here after a day of shopping, it was delicious! Our waitress was friendly and helpful, she was very knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, they also have outdoor seating. I can't say enough about the food, everything blew our minds! So delicious!

This is a tough review. We arrived at 6 pm with a party of 20 (reservations had been confirmed at 4 pm that day) only to be told that our table was given to another party. But they made it right after about 20 minutes. I had the Salisbury steak and my wife had the butternut squash ravioli with brown butter and sage. The Salisbury steak was okay. The brown gravy had no flavor. The ravioli was oddly sweet. We did share the pear quesadilla, which was really yummy.

Went to The Bourbon Pear with a group and had such a wonderful time. Our service was great the whole night. The waiter was attentive and helpful answering menu questions. Drinks were strong, but complimented the garlic fries appetizer well. Our table ordered the Mac and cheese, salmon, fried chicken and short ribs. Yum yum the short ribs were maybe one of the best I've had. Everything came out quickly even though it was a busy Friday night.

In short: all the food was delicious, ambience delightful, and a great dinner all around The appetizers were great- the fondue and the pear quesadilla were particularly delicious. The pear quesadilla had a chutney sauce that is a must to put on as it pears (pun intended) perfectly with the Brie cheese. Dinner was good as well- but the one caveat is the names for the foods are.. generous. The cat fish po' boy for instance is not a po boy but rather a cat fish burger, and the French dip is not what you would traditionally thing and instead is was a whole piece of steak. Both of which were very tasty but perhaps now that you would expect. One last nice part was we had some very delightful live music. Often times background music can be distracting but this was the perfect balance and a great list of songs. The music was by BryceAMusic

    Short Rib.
    Kim B.

The food was excellent! I got the short rib. It was tender and very tasty. The piece was larger than any short rib I have gotten before. The potatoes and carrots which accompanied it were fabulous. My friend got the shrimp and grits. She said they were good as well. It was very crowded and the waitress was running. She was friendly and polite. We ate outside. The seating area was shaded and comfortable.

The experience begins in a small glass-enclosed entryway where you're greeted before the hostess is notified by radio. Moments later, the glass door opens, revealing a beautifully designed speakeasy with an elegant yet inviting atmosphere. The space offers comfortably spaced bar seating, cozy booths, and tables, all surrounded by tasteful décor that perfectly captures the speakeasy era while incorporating subtle honeycomb-inspired touches. The spirit selection is impressive, and the appetizer menu is thoughtfully curated. Their specialty cocktails are creative, balanced, and beautifully presented. We sat at the bar, where our mixologist, Kalika B, was both personable and professional. I always enjoy sitting at the bar when the bartender is willing to share their craft, and Kalika did exactly that. She explained the story behind several of their custom cocktails, the history of some of their spirits, their signature custom ice program, and offered excellent appetizer recommendations. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. The entire space was spotless and clearly designed with great attention to detail. It filled up quickly after opening, so I was glad we arrived when we did. Despite the growing crowd, there appeared to be plenty of staff, and the service remained attentive without ever making guests feel rushed. There is only one restroom, but during our visit it was never an issue, and there was no wait. I've been chasing speakeasies for more than 20 years, long before they became as popular as they are today. Whenever I travel, I make it a point to seek out a local speakeasy, so I've experienced quite a few over the years. Honeycomb ranks near the top of my list. It's the perfect size--not too small and not too large--with an outstanding selection of spirits, exceptional craft mocktails, knowledgeable mixologists who truly know their craft, and cocktails tailored to your palate. The atmosphere is elegant yet approachable, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality of the experience. The Honeycomb Speakeasy in Livermore is truly a destination-worthy cocktail experience. Here's what we tried: Cusco Comb (1000/10): Absolutely one of the best cocktails I've ever had. It was sweet, strong, and incredibly smooth without the alcohol being overpowering. I loved it so much that I immediately ordered a second one. I would honestly come back just for this drink alone. Honeycomb After Dark (9/10): Such a fun twist on an espresso martini! It reminded me of a Vietnamese coffee with a boozy kick. As the ice cream melted, the drink became even creamier and more delicious. Gin & Tonic (6/10): I'm not personally a gin and tonic fan, but my sister really enjoyed it. She thought the ratio of gin to tonic was spot on. Fries (6/10): Super crispy with a great texture, but they were a little too salty for my taste. The only downside is that there's only one bathroom, so keep that in mind if it's busy. If you're looking for a great spot to grab drinks in downtown, I highly recommend this speakeasy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the cocktails are outstanding, and the service is consistently excellent. I'd probably skip the food next time and eat somewhere else beforehand, then come here to enjoy the amazing drinks.

The tacos are on petite, single shells with a piece of fish, avocado and cabbage slaw on each. I happily ate every bite. A side salad would have enhanced this dish. I wish I had ordered an appetizer, like the deviled eggs or brussels sprouts, as it would have rounded out my lunch well and it would have been more filling. First off, this is NOT on the staff working. We genuinely felt bad for them. Management thought it was a good idea to schedule ONE bartender and ONE server on a packed Saturday night. The entire place was chaotic, customers were visibly irritated, TVs throughout the restaurant stopped working, and the poor employees were drowning trying to keep up. The stress was palpable that made the experience stressful and not enjoyable. Absolute management failure. At one point I used their self-pour beer wall and poured myself half a Modelo only for it to come out warm I was able to find another beer that was actually cold... but still charged for the warm one. The food was somehow even worse. We ordered the barbacoa nachos, wedge salad, and a kids burger with fries. The kids burger was the only edible thing. The wedge salad was drowning in ranch like someone emptied the whole bottle on it. Tomatoes tasted old and gross. Then came the nachos... tiny portion, bland chips, barely any cheese, no mango salsa like the menu claimed, and the "barbacoa" -- if you could even call it that -- was tough, fatty, and completely inedible. $74 later for one appetizer, one salad, one kids meal, and 1 1/2 beers. We only tipped because we felt bad for the server. We will NEVER be back. Thanks for ruining our Mother's Day dinner.
