This restaurant has the potential to be better than what it is, and probably be the best in the area. However, they fall short in a few areas. I came here on a Sunday morning, and it wasn't too crowded. It was probably around 30% capacity. It didn't take any time to be seated and given some water, but it took a while for a server/waiter to come and take my order. After placing my order, I waited about 25 minutes before receiving food and about 10-15 minutes waiting for the drinks we ordered. Prior to receiving the food, I received about 3 plates that weren't mine, and the staff didn't seem like they knew who ordered the plates. Looking around, I noticed several of the staff was doing this and delivering food to the wrong tables. I tried a combo plate that had a chicken enchilada and a shredded chicken tamale. The beans and rice felt like the highlight of the plate. The enchilada was decent, but the tamale tasted way too dry. I don't think I'll come back unless I am in the area to watch a movie, but even then, I might be better off having food in the theater. read more

There's lots of parking for your convenience when you walk in you're seated by the host, we chose the outside seating area since it was a very warm day. We enjoyed the open airy ambience TVs we were mounted turned on to the sports channels. Service was fantastic. Our waiter was very professional and attentive. we happen to be there during happy hour so we ordered a couple of things from the happy hour menu We starting with the Cadillac margarita with Don Julio Anejo which was top-notch we will definitely will come back for the cocktails also ordered the guacamole appetizer which tasted freshly made our entrées were the combination fajita with flour, tortilla rice and beans, beef, chicken, and shrimp. The beef could use a little bit more seasoning otherwise cooked to perfection the shrimp and the chicken was tender and juicy. My dining partner ordered a crispy beef taco with a chicken tamale. The chicken to masa ratio was perfect chicken was nice and juicy again the beef was tender, but could use just slight more seasoning overall the food was good. Tequila Bar & Grill opened about a year ago so it is relatively new. This is an upscale Mexican restaurant. Chips are nicely crunchy and have enough thickness to easily add guacamole or their salsas. They can addicting. The Ahi Tacos appetizer is fantastic. As an appetizer, each tostada (two per order) is good for a few bites. We should have purchased two orders. We had the enchiladas, sorry no picture. Menu has several protein options and several sauces. Service was friendly and helpful. They have about seven large flatscreen video surfaces. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. There was no wait and we were seated right away. The decor is pretty. And I like the layout of the restaurant. Staff was friendly. And the menu had a good amount of choices. At the suggestion of our waitress I got a spicy pineapple margarita. It was VERY tasty. Not strong at all - but flavorful. For appetizer, we got shrimp ceviche. Btw .. they have so many ceviche choices!! Me and my companion both ordered the seafood enchiladas. They were tasty. My only beef was they put the rice on one side of the enchiladas and beans on the other side. Like what?! There's enough division in this society. But now even rice is separated from beans?! Ok ok... Well this sucks to have to write this. Came in on a Thursday at 330pm. There were four total customers, FOUR. When I walked in the whole restaurant smelled like a bathroom. So I asked to sit outside. They showed me the outside area and I requested that a table be moved to accommodate for my young children and be at least partially in the shade. The woman who led me outside, said she doesn't have staff to help me move the table. So I said can I move the table she said sure but you can't move it here and pointed to the shaded part of the patio that didn't have tables. They had high top tables in the shade but can you imagine the liability if my child were to fall and that's all you could offer me? I said well let me ask my husband and as I was about to she said if this doesn't work you can go somewhere else. So of course we left. There are so many issues with this interaction. 1. A newer business 2. The lack of care about the situation. 3. The sheer unwillingness to help. I'm fully capable of moving tables but not when you are unwilling to even help problem solve. 4. Isn't the restaurant business considered within the hospitality industry? I guess not here 5. Utterly disappointed by the woman who thought it would be okay to tell customers to leave and go elsewhere. 6. I did go back and asked to speak to a manager and shared how unprofessional it was and hope someone can communicate with her about that. And how disappointed I am in the service and sheer lack of care. Shame on you tequila bar and grill. It is a damn shame that this was my experience. Hopefully it is not yours. We found out about this place through Ocean Oyster Bar & Grill in Union City, which we like. Turns out it's under the same ownership, so we decided to give this place a try. Nice spot! Spacious, clean, and located in the center of the Dublin Regal Hacienda plaza. We started with a dozen raw oysters, and an order of cooked ones, 1 of each of the 4 flavors - Parmesan, Mango Habanero, Diabla, and Sriracha Bourbon. All but the Parmesan are spicy, so if you like spice, you will enjoy these. Still hungry, we also ordered a couple of shrimp tacos, and the shrimp ceviche. Then went with a second order of the cooked oysters. Do you see a pattern here? They have an extensive menu, something for every taste, and I appreciate that they have meat-free options as well. Service was very good and the friendly staff checked in on us regularly. The movie theater is in the same plaza, so this is a nice place to hang out before or after a movie. So I had never been here but hubby and I were going to a movie and decided to watch here. Even though it was a Friday night and they were a little crowded, the wait for a table was only about 15 minutes. Very good turnover time for a small restaurant. It is a little loud but you can still hear conversations of your table. I was watching the bartenders make the drinks but they also have sports on 3 or 4 TVs if that is your thing. They start you off with some chips, salsa and water. I had 3 shredded chicken traditional "street" tacos. Hubby had a burrito with al pastor. Both were delicious. We rarely drink alcohol but there was a vast menu of drinks to choose from. We ordered prosecco and a mojito, guacamole, calamari, two orders of taquitos. The mint in the mojito was mostly used as a garnish so we crushed it into the drink at the table for better flavor. The calamari was great. The guacamole was fresh but just ok and a pretty small serving. Had we known the taquitos also came with guacamole we wouldn't have ordered it. I ordered the fajita combo nachos which were just okay and my daughter had the quesabirria tacos which were not great but were edible. The most unusual part was the horchata. It tasted like cherry Coke or had some kind of cherry flavoring which was very odd. My daughter tried it first and could not drink it and even I struggled with it after paying for it. I also asked the staff what they put in it since I have seen places add flavors like strawberry, but they said it was normal horchata ingredients, which made the taste even more confusing. This was our first dine in visit although we have done drive thru before and overall I do not think I will be back. The food is pricey for the quality. Service was understandable given how busy they were. Silverware and drinks took a while but I understand how hectic it can be so I will leave it at that. read more

Excellent spot near our house! Food is great and consistent. Drinks are equally awesome & always consistent. I love the apps- guac, shrimp in peanut sauce, chorizo & cheese and my hubs loves ribeye app among other things. The only reason I took Star away was bc the pistachio dessert martini might go away. Adrain is SUCH an awesome bartender & always remembers our fave orders. Other bartenders & staff do too, but Adrain is really the best. If the pistachio drink goes away, we won't come as much bc it's 1 big reason I keep coming back. Def recommend & hope pistachio stays! read more

Cheese enchiladas with a small pile of rice and beans should in no way cost $20. Everything was over priced. Menu was way too big with strange things for a Mexican restaurant- spicy edamame? Ambiance was interesting. I'm not sure what type of restaurant it's trying to be. I was extremely excited for this restaurant and had high hopes. It seemed like it could compare to Javier's or santo mezcal in SoCal but unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. The prices are the same but quality is lower. I'm not sure I'd come back. If I do it's just for drinks. Not sure if they have a happy hour. It's also not overly kid friendly. We headed to see a movie in Dublin and stopped in here first for bites and drinks. Not the exact same menu as Ocean but similar. We were greeted at the door and moved onto the bar. When we came in there were few people here but by the time we left it was packed. This is near the Hacienda Movie Theater so I think just like us, people drop in here prior to a movie or after. A pretty large place. We downed a dozen fresh oysters as well as 4 cooked ones, ceviche and shrimp tacos. All great. Lots and lots of tequila to choose from along with other libations. Solid beer selection and even a few wines I wish they had a nice Porter, but no. So I worked through the tequila collection and my partner had a margarita and the tequila thyme. See what they did there. All the staff was pleasant and service was excellent. We will be back even if we aren't going to a movie. read more

You already know I had to try this place out. Place was busy on a Saturday evening, however there was a table for 2 open when we got there. We got seated, and after a look at the menu, the girlfriend and I decided to get the Baja fish taco, a shrimp taco, and the combination fajita plate. My girlfriend really liked the horchata, and she especially liked the fish taco and shrimp taco. Me however. This might be one of the best fish tacos around, and the shrimp taco is the best around. Tequila Bar & Grill is conveniently located next to the movies in Hacienda Crossings, they have a full bar. The drinks are amazing and I loved my passion fruit margarita as my friend loved her strawberry margarita. They pour heavy btw lol! I loved the fish taco it had great crisp. It's pretty spaced out in there, as they have a bar for seating and a wide range of tables, including outdoors. The service was top notch as our servers constantly checked on us for support. I've been here way too much. I'm familiar with this neighborhood way too much. I'm right back at it, in the East Bay again today. I've seen this a lot. I'm here to check-it-out, Tequila Grill in Dublin. When I got here it was packed. There's a lot of big Television screens up, perfect to catch a Sports game. And I'm having me a Grilled Salmon with rice and vegetable medley, for Dinner Tonight. It looks spectacular. The Salmon was seasoned very well, Grilled to perfection, moist, the Crust on it was incredible, and I knew it was a good peice of Salmon from the Grilled marks. I didn't know what they did to the rice, but the rice was the star of the Dish, believe it or not, it was out of this world, and done very differently than all the others I had out there so far. The Roasted Squash, was phenomenal. The only thing was, it was kinda slow getting everything, but understandable for a Night like Tonight's. I was thinking this was going to be a 3.9-4.4 stars, I want to give this a 4.4 stars, on a good day it could be a 4.4 stars, but I give this 4.3/4.4 stars out of 5 stars. Tried out tequilas last weekend before catching a movie. It's definitely not bad but also not the best Mexican food you can. Its definitely trying to be on the upscale side but it didn't hit that mark for me. The burrito was good but very different. The regular burrito comes with a protein, rice, beans and sour cream. When I say it was different it was almost like all the ingredients were put in a bowl first and mixed then wrapped in a tortilla instead of the traditional layering of ingredients. I didn't dislike it but it was different. Chicken was tasty and the chips and salsa were good too. Everything came out timely as we had ample time to get stuff before our movie. I have now been here 4 times and every time there has been an issue with something. Let's start with the phone number and if you called the number it takes you to the San Leandro location, whereas the Dublin location says the phone number is not valid. The staff is not friendly and get even less so when there is an issue. 3 of the four times there was an issue with even finding our reservation. Case in lint this last time. We called on Saturday to make a reservation for Sunday for nine people to watch the last World Cup game. The Dublin phone number again did not work so we have connected to San Leandro. The woman who picked up the phone send that brother location and she will call this cell phone and tell him about our reservation. Not really trusting that, we drove to the restaurant itself and spoke to the person at the reception who wrote down a reservation and we specifically requested a high top table for nine people next to the bar in front of the TV. All was written down in front of our faces. We show up the next day and the reservation has none of that information. Not only that, none of the tables in the restaurant are set up for us. They shoved us into a smaller area that was not anywhere near the TV and told us that when one of the high tops become available they will just move us so that we had to get up in the middle move all of our stuff to another table with all of our drinks and menus and chips and salsas that were already on the table. Then we proceeded to ask for three separate checks and were told "no". No explanation no apologies. No nothing. She just said "no". When we asked why she said we're too busy to be splitting checks so we said if three separate parties came and set at the table what would you do and she said I would split the check. So we asked why don't you just treat that as such, and she said no, and walked away. Food took forever to come and it came out lukewarm. A bunch of ingredients were missing from one order. One was wrong. I ordered a simple chips and guacamole of all the food that came that came out mine came out last. In previous occasions we had the same issues with food coming out wrong. One occasion they brought the food out massively wrong 3 times. Was asked what's going on? They said we have to put your order back in line and you have to wait until the kitchen can make it. So we asked since we ordered the food like an hour ago and you messed it up repeatedly so shouldn't we be at the top of the line at this point? Never ever going here again. read more
