Came here randomly with a group of friends on a Friday night. They had multiple rooms available. We were able to get a room right away, I heard they serve food and drinks but we didn't order any so can't comment on that. Service was fine and the place is clean and updated. I just cannot imagine that in the year 2026, they have no way of playing YouTube karaoke on their screen. We were told we can play YouTube but it will just have the music playing on the speakers and the lyrics will be on the phone only. No screen mirroring capability or any way to connect it to the big TV. Which was really a disappointment because their song selections are limited, they did not have an extensive library. The sound system also was not the best. I have a JBL karaoke at home which would have performed better. Anyways we still made the most of it and had a good time. I really hope they can improve the sound system and find some way to connect to YouTube, otherwise I can't see myself going back. Which is a shame because this place has so much potential. read more

That being said, the experience was better than I was expecting, but still a bit disappointing in some regards. The plus: The room was clean. They provided disposable covers for the microphones. Staff was friendly. Love that they serve food and have a bar on site. Didn't try the food so can't comment on that. The negatives: Quite limited song choices. We had multiple instances and looking up a song only to find it wasn't in their catalog. Also, drinks were $$$$. Super pricey. We had fun, we reserved the medium room which accommodates upto 8 people. They allowed us to bring pizza but charged $10 each pizza. We brought Costco pizzas. This pitcher of soda was around $20 Pitcher of water -free. They charged cleaning fee of 18% It was pricey but it was worth it because the area is safe and the place was clean. It was easy to operate their sound system, Walter the staff taught us. You have to prepare the songs you want to sing to enter to the karaoke sound system. Gotta be honest, I tried this place with my fiancée and friends and it was a really lackluster experience. Super expensive with terrible drinks that tasted nothing like how they normally should. Service was unbelievably slow, unprofessional, and it took two guys with nothing to do to make three unbelievably overpriced drinks in incredibly cheap plastic cups with ice that tasted like wood chips. While the ambiance and atmosphere of this place is pretty good, that's where it stops for the most part. The music selection system is not intuitive at all and god help you if you drink enough to enjoy yourself because you WILL NOT understand the system after a while. In good faith I can't rate this place very well and that's a shame because it does have the potential to be really cool; the biggest hurdle is the terrible device and assistance. If they put as much effort into the staff/service as they do the room layout and high drink prices it would be so much better. Because of how weird the staff vibe was my friends kept making jokes that this place must be made for money laundering lmao EDIT: HOLY SHIT down to one star from two; the final fees were insane. Not only did the staff purposely not notify us about going over time, but they charged additionally by the minute. $109 for less than two hours and that doesn't even include the $50 for the three absolutely terrible drinks. Even checkout was bad as the two staff kept looking at us like we're trying to steal something or leave without paying the bill. Their service is not the best and the prices for food and drinks are high, but the place is always clean, they are accurate with pricing, and majority of the times the rooms we want are available. Do not come here if you do not want to be ripped off. We were supposed to pay $120 for the room, but paid $220 instead, which was funny because they added the extra 30 minutes we were talking about all the charges they gave us. We also paid almost $500 for two bottles. It was fine until my friend threw up in the bathroom, and they tried to charge us an extra $120 to clean it up. I stood there and talked to the guy, asking him to please explain how that worked, and he said it was because the toilet was clogged. So I went into the bathroom, and it flushed just fine. He then said, " Okay, fine, it'll be $80 because we still have to pay the cleaning people to clean it up". I asked, "Do they not clean up the bathrooms unless someone throws up?" He just looked at me. I was confused. He said it was just policy. I asked to see the policy, and he said, "Oh, we don't have a physical policy to show you; it's just the manager's policy. Either way, they will continue to rack up your bill. I get it, throw up is gross, but it happens. I was sad because this place was close to us and looked nice. My daughter wanted to rent a karaoke room for her birthday. She and her friends were very happy that it was clean and that the song collection presented a good variety of different genres for them to select. It was nice to see that there were disposable microphone covers for us to use to keep us clean. Rooms are nice, software is mediocre, but I don't think these people know how to speak English. It took take about 15 minutes to order 7 shots, 3 chilled vodka and 4 Jameson. We ordered coca cola backs, which were $1 a piece, and the coca cola i got (like 2oz) was flat like it was from a bottle from 3 days ago.... It took about 15 minutes to order the cocktail that was first on their menu. Fine place to sing karaoke, terrible place to drink. We went all out and got the SVIP room for $119/hour, even though there were only 8 of us haha. There is a decent menu of alcohol, although prepare yourself for the downtown SF pricing structure here. At these prices, I really wish they served us our shots in proper glasses instead of them flimsy plastic cups that you get when you have to take your meds in an insane asylum. Had my daughter's 16th birthday party there. The employees are all really nice and accommodating, and the room (we got a Large) was perfect for the group of 12 girls. Because you can't reserve the large room, we were told to go promptly at 6 to secure it, and it was fine. When the lights dimmed, the room's was beautiful and classy, and the girls had a great time. Highly recommended for groups. You can bring your own cake, but they charge a surcharge of $10 per pizza, which isn't bad. However, we didn't realize when we booked that there's going to be a $50 cleaning fee. It wasn't pointed out to us until we went to pay at the end. It's printed on the price sheet but only in very small prints at the bottom, so I'm not sure under what condition it was applied. I suggest that you ask about it before booking. While the room assistant helped set up my group of six in one of the small rooms, he appeared glum and neglected to show us how the karaoke machine worked, so it took us some toggling and experimenting with the mechanics before we started singing. Eventually, we were able to find and pull up all the songs we wanted. My group's room, equipped with two microphones and an extended seat against one wall, made for a fun experience for our ongoing antics, especially when my friends played around by amping up the pitch or distorting the instrumentals on the karaoke screen. The karaoke room itself, though, was less impressive, awash in a lurid magenta and often penetrated by the raucous singing from surrounding rooms, which made for a more garish atmosphere. However, when you're with the right people, that all becomes moot. The room gives off an infectiously energetic vibe that all the people inside naturally build off of, and anyone coming with their best friends is bound to have a good time. read more

I'm not sure why the ratings here are so low! I had hella fun. My old college roomies and friends came to town to celebrate my birthday last year. After a bit of pre-gaming at home, we made our way to KTV and sang our little hearts out from 10:30pm until 2am on a Friday night. I didn't have to make any reservations, we got a room super fast for 9 people, and also shared a few sake bombs. The song selection had almost every bop you could think to sing along to while trashed. The bill turned out to be $$$, but divided among 9 people ended up relatively cheap. While the place is good and has good variety of song selection. I feel like they charge us a ridiculous amount of money. I rented a small room for my group of friends for $55/hr. I've been at other ktvs thats cheaper but I think this place being at $55 is reasonable for 6 people. However, we got water thinking it was free bc its WATER. When we got it, they didnt even tell us they would charge us for water. Our bill turned out to be almost $300 for 3 hrs with water being charged on top of required 18% cleaning fee. If we didnt order water, there would be nothing needed to be cleaned. We even cleaned the place ourselves and brought the pitcher outside, leaving the room exactly as it was before. I'm pretty upset with this place. They didn't inform my party to our understanding ahead of time that we'd be getting a small room versus a mini room or explain the difference, meaning that we'd be charged a whole lot more than my party thought we would per hour. This karaoke spot is not cheap at all, so I would avoid going here and buying food or drinks, if possible, unless you are pregaming ahead of time. They tried charging us for extra fries that we didn't order which was pretty shady too. My friends are supposedly chill with the workers there so without putting much thought into what room they were putting us in as well as what they were charging us, we felt we could trust the business, but my opinion has changed so much, which is very disappointing... For 3 people, the cost ended up being over $400. Never would we have gone here if we knew we'd have to pay over $135 per person. Tried speaking to Daniel about the issue and the upset on the matter for my party, but he brushed everything off since he was tired and trying to go home. Located at Ulferts Center aka the "asian mall" that we frequent, which has likeable places like my favorite Chinese bakery, a dum sum place, boba, and more. THE SHORT: Rented the biggest VIP room for a celebration, the fancy stage microphone was not working, sadly & ridiculously lacking customer service or friendliness or any smiles at all, you have to chase someone down to get help & you're lucky to get any level of "help." So lame to have EQUIPMENT (STAGE MIC) NOT WORKING IN VIP ROOM, which is the focal point of the room! And didn't provide any discount for a defective room. Sigh. Holds about 25 people. Previously went here a few weeks prior in person to reserve the room and pay the deposit. The place itself presents well & looks amazing. You walk in and are immediately struck by the neon cool glow of the place. It is impressive & def has that "nightclub" vibe where you want to sing the night away. But I must be honest with you, the downfall of this place is the... ABYSMAL MILLENIAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. That's right, I said it. We worked mostly with Vincent, a young kid, too cool for school. No smiles, barely any communication when we reserved the room with him. I thought, OK, maybe this kid is tired or has a hangover or something. I hoped they would step it up on the actual Saturday night of my party. Nope. Had to ask for help pm how to do the touch screen controls, which is a normal question since it was our first time there and we needed a primer on how to do things. Really didn't get much help or guidance or service at all. What is the kicker? The highlight of the room..the GLITTERY STAGE WITH THE FANCY MICROPHONE UNDERNEATH THE DISCO BALL WAS NOT WORKING!! Did they care. No. Did they try to fix it? No. Vincent just walked out of the room & barely mumbled something back to me when I was asking him questions. Great. So we had BARELY TWO WORKING MICS. The other lame backup mic (since the fabulous stage microphone was broken) didn't even work that well. Man, I wanted to rock that standing mic on the stage with friends. The lamest part of all was that there was NO DISCOUNT OR ANYTHING PROVIDED FOR A ROOM THAT WASN'T FULLY EQUIPPED FOR A VIP PARTY. HAD A FULL ROOM OF ABOUT 20 FRIENDS THERE. Lame lame lame lame x 1,000. This is no way to do business, folks. You know, we made do. Me & my friends sang for our reserved hours. Crooned our hearts out. Danced. Played around with the dimmable lighting. WE FIGURED OUT THE TOUCH SCREEN MONITORS OURSELVES. Did the best we could for my awesome celebration, which was great because of the people there. But I couldn't help but think and feel that this was like renting a convertible car of which the roof does not retract. DIDN'T GET WHAT WE PAID FOR WHICH WAS THE "VIP" ROOM...it was JUST A ROOM. I am sighing even as I type this. And the BOBA DRINKS WERE WATERY. So as shiny & neon-y & inviting as this place looks, think of it like a really attractive boyfriend who has has nothing good to say & isn't smart...it's basically useless. Our experience at Heartbeat KTV was both terrible and great, and here's why... Reservations: Yes, Heartbeat KTV takes reservations however it is an extremely difficult process and quite frankly, annoying. First, no one responds to email. I had a couple of questions about the rooms and reached out via email (taken from their website) multiple times. Not one single response. Ummm.... Why do you have an email address posted on your website? Second, a $50 deposit is required to book a reservation and you can only pay for the deposit in person. Total inconvenience. But that's neither here nor there. The upside to having to pay the deposit in person, is that you can check out the karaoke room first. Karaoke Lounge Room: We booked Room # 8 for our party as we had a few birthdays to celebrate. The room is great! There was plenty of room for us and the entire sound system / karaoke machine was user friendly, and there were many songs to choose from. We had a fantastic time! Unfortunately, this was the only positive at Heartbeat KTV. Customer Service: NON-EXISTENT. I repeat NON-EXISTENT. Upon arrival, we checked in for our reservation and luckily, that went smooth. We ordered a bottle of sake to start the night.... One of the three young men brought out the bottle and two sake glasses. We were a group of 12 so I asked for 10 more. I was given the most dramatic eye-roll ever! We poured out the sake and one of the employees accidentally knocked one over, spilling all over the counter. No apologies, nothing. He simply returned to whatever game he was playing on his phone. I asked for paper towels.... Anything....and I was given a box Kleenex. Ummmm, okay? Well, as long as it wiped up the spill, right? The rest of the evening was miss...miss...miss. Anytime we needed anything, we had to say "excuse me" really loud to them as all three guys were quite engrossed into whatever they were doing on their phones. Payment: Ha! What a joke. As many Yelpers stated, there is a 15% cleaning fee. We were okay with that....but to be honest, our room wasn't cleaned up when our hour started.... So do they really clean up the room after each reservation? But here's the kicker! I received our final bill, looked it over, saw the space for a tip, I ignored it, wrote down the total, signed the merchant copy, and returned it to the employee. He promptly gave me back my receipt, pointed to the blank tip, and refused to accept my signed receipt until I agreed to leave a tip! Unbelievable! Why do they feel a tip is necessary when they truly do NOTHING for their customers. Sadly, we won't be returning to this establishment. read more

We showed up at 12am just to be told that they are "closing early" due to "cleaning". I asked the staff to clarify why they are closing early and if this is a normal occurrence and the employee at the front desk told me, "sorry bro, we are closing early tonight". Arriving her a 3:00PM on Christmas Eve because on yelp it says it's opened at 3....No one was there. So we ended up going to a boba spot and we gave this place a call at about 330....and someone picked up the phone and said they're opened till 2AM.... Okay.. So we drive back there and asked for a small room. There is a 15% service room fee which is at all of the KTV spots so i guess that's a bit normal. When we were brought into the room, it was super nice but none of the systems have been turned on yet. We ended up staying there for 2 hours, and the total came up to be $64. $25 per hour (special happy hour rates for small room) and then tax plus that 15% service charge. It is a bit weird for them to charge a service charge and ask for tip on the reicept. But that's how its at all of the KTV places so i guess you either have to get use to it...or don't go. This is definielty recommended place to go because it's really nice and modern. But there is one bad thing, it smells horribly like smoke when the guys smoke outside. I strongly do not recommend this place. We were there for 3 hours and they charged us 650$. Bill Gates can have a good time here. Everyone else: steer clear. The person at this place told us that they were charging us per hour for four hours, but they charged us per hour for two hours, charged us per minute for another hour, and gave us an insane bill at the end. Celebrated my daughter's 21st birthday here last weekend. I took advantage of the happy hour pricing and got a great deal on the medium sized room (up to 15 guests), which felt just right for our group size but also left room for any last minute additions. Walking up to & into the this spot was a fun part of the overall experience. Very cool party vibes. I was a little unsure about participation (only one in our group had been to a karaoke lounge), but to my surprise EVERYONE (even the most shy & quiet person) in our group let loose! I had to extend our reservations twice, each time by a half hour. It turned out to be a perfect combo/"something different" experience. I figured if the karaoke wasn't a hit, we'd at least have our own private party room with dining/drink service. If you want to avoid crowds I recommend their happy hour. We were there on a Saturday from 4:00-6:30 -- when we arrived there was hardly anyone there, and by the time we left the place was pretty packed. Another bonus was the location and other nearby options for entertainment (coin-op arcade, live mermaid lounge, historic movie theater). Other than that, the place is clean, and the bathroom is nice and well-kept. They don't allow outside drink which forces you to pay for the expensive drinks, which is a bummer. This karaoke place is just adequate. I decided to come here randomly with my friend after passing by it so often and it seemed to have a decent overall rating. We came on a Saturday evening at around dinner time, 6 pm. It wasn't very crowded here at all, as it was very quick for us to get a room, however, for just 2 people, they only had the 'small' room available for us, which is a size up from the 'mini' room. For $39/hour in a small room with only 2 people, it was pricey, and in my opinion I think having happy hour extend until 7 pm even on a Saturday would not be a bad idea. I saw that happy hour pricing would be $19/hour. On top of that, when I read their contract/waiver that they have you sign, I thought I had seen there is a 15% charge on the price of your time there for cleaning, and I thought this cleaning charge was applied regardless of whether you were caught bringing outside food/beverages into the establishment or not. We later found out it wasn't applied to our room, but perhaps this is an anomaly since many other reviewers mentioned being charged this fee. Anyway, before our karaoke experience, I thought it was pretty stingy of them to note our start time as the literal time that they whipped out that contract/waiver to the dot, rather than give us a 5 minute grace period for reading and signing it, then taking out our ID, walking us over to our room, and explaining how to use the screen/controls (if needed). Had they explained how to use the controls, that would take up another minute or two. We already wasted 3-4 minutes of our singing time by having completed these administrative-sort tasks, and even left a minute early from our room to make sure we didn't go over by a minute by the time they checked their watches/clocks, checked us out of the room and rang us up. That is how stingy this place came off as, and placed a little damper on the mood to belt our hearts out. I have been to another karaoke place in Oakland where they gave us that grace period, and I wasn't able to fully appreciate that until today when at Heartbeat KTV. Another thing that ate away from our singing time was having to take my microphone out of the two that were in the room, to the front desk because it kept dying on me when I turned it on. They had to change the batteries. This itself took away 2-3 minutes of me walking out and back from my room and them finding new batteries to swap out. From setting up and having to deal with the staff alone, just to sing, took at least 5-7 minutes out of that 1 hour we paid for. Yes, that's not a lot of time in the grand scheme of things, but when you pay a premium for time, that is expensive and pretty annoying to have to deal with. Again, had happy hour pricing been in effect during this time or had a small grace period of some sort been offered, I would not be writing too much about having wasted a lot of time NOT singing. Aside from that stingy feel, the service was just enough to get by, like the bare minimum. I'd also note that when my friend and I walked in, the two guys at the front were more confused by why we were there rather than being welcoming, and I had to ask them what their rates where for a karaoke room and if we could book one. They had menus they took with them and placed on the table in our room, but they didn't even try to sell their food to us. If I didn't see them bringing those menus into the room, it's almost as if the menus never existed to me. Not sure if I would want to buy the food or drinks there anyway since the karaoke rate is pretty steep. You could probably eat before hand or hold off to eat in the nearby restaurants in that plaza anyway. The place itself is modern-looking, and the walls are very sparkly and colorful. Upon walking into our 'small' room, it seemed very clean. I guess the second best thing about this place to your company would be the facilities then. The room itself could probably comfortably accommodate ~5 people seated and calmly singing. Maybe ~3 dancing and singing people. There was no clock in the room from what I could remember, so set a timer for yourself if you're on a budget. The karaoke screen was pretty simple to use, and you could change the language to Chinese or English to navigate. There is a large selection of Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc) and English songs to choose from. The songs are pretty up-to-date. The quality on some of the songs were a bit funky (like In the End by Linkin Park had only text, and a lot of songs seemed like they were ripped off YouTube). Overall, our experience here was unfortunately tainted by the prices considering how much time was wasted on, again, NOT singing. I'm sure having a larger group or going during their designated happy hour (Monday-Friday before 7 pm) would offset the cost, but it's still bothersome that our time was being eaten up a bit left and right. So unless I'm going with a large group or going to happy hour, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. read more

We've been here multiple times with not many complaints but this visit was different. We got placed in a really small room for the amount of people we had and when asked to upgrade the guy said $189!! An hr for the bigger room . We had gotten that room before and it was about $80 an hr . Their website prices are not up to date they have a piece of paper on the counter for the prices . Might have to look somewhere else to sing . Also their catalog seems to targeted to a certain audience. Very little Spanish songs , lots of missing popular American artists . read more
