A very average American restaurant. I ordered fish and chips. My wife ordered "doozy scoozi". I know what you are thinking, what on the earth is "doozy scoozi"? It's basically buffalo chicken stuffed in pocket bread. The dishes look great (see pics)! Fish and chips are ok, I found some burnt and dried fries but overall good tartar sauce and a little dry coleslaw. But fish is pretty good. The doozy scoozi is horrible in one word. The cook/chef for some reason drenched chicken in buffalo sauce. To me, it's almost looked like curry chicken. I asked my American wife did you order curry chicken by mistake? Then I tasted from her plate. The buffalo sauce is overpowering so the stuffing becomes inedible! I gave three stars as I like everything else in the restaurant, hospitality, friendliness, the server gave water bowl for our dogs (very nice!). I don't expect much from "American cuisine" (to me it's burger and sandwiches pretty much), but come on drenching chicken in buffalo sauce is a strict no no! If the cook is reading this, please contact me and I will teach you how to make curry chicken! Put that in the bread pocket, it will be your special menu item and I guarantee it will be an instant hit, way better than your version of "doozy scoozi". Anyway, so that summarizes the 3 stars!

Pretty chill for a farmers market Saturday bunch. Got to pick our own table and we chose to sit right on the patio with a great view of the farmers market. Got the bottle of prosecco to make your own mimosas and they let us pick two types of juice, we did pineapple and grapefruit. Wish there was a lot more juice. For food I got the bacon breakfast burrito with tater tots on the side and it was 10/10, good size and balance of meat/eggs/cheese/tots. Tots were wonderfully crispy.

Solid American restaurant The place is not big inside but plenty of room and TVs for sports fans. We ordered the chicken skewers and the ahi poke nachos for starters. Then we got the salmon piccata and the portabella burger. Definitely recommend the ahi nachos and the salmon . Staff was super nice and welcoming too!

Fun bar and restaurant located in downtown Pleasanton. You can come here for games or just a great hangout in general. I've only been here twice. The first time was to watch a World Cup game with some family. The second time was for their most recent annual Oktoberfest celebration (2025). Entry came with a food and drink ticket. I can't remember if I ate anything the first time, but I thought the menu or the food they were serving during the Oktoberfest celebration was great! It was some sausages, sauerkraut, potato salad and pretzels. They actually had some kegs of beer brands from Germany (which follow the German purity beer laws - Prost!) Everybody was friendly and helpful. Even after the main celebration, the folks at the bar were really great as well. And if I'm not mistaken, I believe the daughter of one of the people in our group actually worked here. There is live music, dancing, and just an all-around good time. I can see why my brother and his friends like this place. Definitely would come back for another Oktoberfest celebration or come here and watch games in general.

Food is delicious, service is very friendly. The interior is very welcoming and good country music playing in the background. Recommend this place to anyone visiting downtown Pleasanton.

My boyfriend and I love going to Sidetrak on the weekends, we have yet to have a bad meal there. The service is always attentive and very friendly. There are plenty of TVs if there is a sports game on, and they have one outside to enjoy nice weather and watch as well. If you want items from the smoker you got to get there early! They sell out fast, but the meat is delicious. Cajun fries are always good, kentucky cobb is the perfect salad, and the spinach for veronica is a nice twist to a pasta salad.

We worked with Todd for a catering order for a 30th birthday party we hosted at a bar down the street (Middle 8). Todd was great to work with, he worked within our budget and we know the food is good! Todd and his wife helped us with the set up and everything came together. We cut down a few trays but could have reduced our order by a few trays. It worked out because we have hungry nephews who took the food home and we will have the neighbors over to help us eat it today. I highly recommend Sidetrack for your party orders!!! Also check out their restaurant in person. It's one of our favorites in DT Pleasanton. It's good for work gatherings too!

Our coffee was lukewarm and not steaming hot, like my cousin wanted. They were kind and got a steaming hot cup of Joe for him. The restaurant got crowded quickly, there was a large party that arrived and it got noisy. My cousins food came out before mine and I had to wait for my order. My breakfast dish was okay (the braga bowl). Todd the owner was kind and accommodating. Plus, being hangry and waiting for my food didn't go well for my tummy. This is a popular spot and great for large groups and for watching any sporting event.

Tri-tip sandwich with sweet potato fries.

Went to Sidetrack Grill on a Tri-Tip Monday and honestly, it's the kind of weekday deal that makes you feel like you're getting away with something. The tri-tip sandwich came stacked with tender, smoky slices, melted pepper jack, and crispy onion strings on a warm panini roll -- simple but packed with flavor. It's the kind of sandwich that doesn't need frills; everything just works. The sweet potato fries were solid too -- hot, crispy, and generously portioned. If you're anywhere near downtown Pleasanton on a Monday, don't miss this. Tri-Tip Mondays are a win.

Longtime downtown Pleasanton restaurant, which a friend and I visited for the first time a week ago in spite of living here for almost 20 years. We were seated outdoors and ordered drinks and appetizers - my first beer (a Kölsch) was flat, but my second (a Brown Ale) was very good. Our server recommended the Birria tacos, which were also very good. Worth the price of admission, especially when paired with the brown ale. Our entrée sandwiches were mediocre. Both the Cubano and the TriTip were dry and needed a lot of barbecue sauce to make them edible (we had to ask for the barbecue sauce). The onion rings and fries they were served with, however, were excellent. As you can tell, I had a polarizing experience at Sidetrack. Will likely come back and give them another chance, especially as they're local.

A great find in Pleasanton downtown. They have great beer selection and unique "sold out" menu that has great options. Have both indoor and outside seating. Outside seating has heaters. The service is quick . Only thing that we found weird was that one of our beer orders was replaced by a different yet similar beer but we weren't told. Their food's tasty. Will be back.

Buffalo chicken sandwich - swapped for panini bread. Not enough chicken and very messy. Maybe the original bread would have been better? 3/5

Ambiance is casual and lively for lunch. Service was incredible friendly and attentive. Food was okay. I really enjoyed the Cubano but Buffalo Chicken was only okay. The Tater Tos were fabulous (apparently they are known for them). I would like to come back and try their other sandwiches, salads and burger. Overall would recommend

Super chill and laid-back vibe with friendly service. I haven't had anything here I didn't like. Love that the sweet potato fries are thin and crispy. My go-to is the Reuben--always stacked with a generous amount of meat.

Post- meal: steak was medium rare and juicy. My younger daughter was in heaven with her tri-tip and A1. Country potatoes were well seasoned. My daughter had club sandwich which she ate voraciously. She's not typically a sandwich person so this was a good sign! Our specialty drinks. Now, with the ube. The ube foam had the tiniest hint of ube flavor but it was more of a purple foam and didn't satisfy my craving. My younger daughter had the ube matcha and although she liked the ube foam, she kept asking me to ask for more because her drink only tasted like matcha. It was more of the same for my daughter who thought there wasn't enough mango in the mango matcha. If we don't finish our drinks, we usually take it home to go but we decided to leave ours. It's not enough to have a good presentation of specialty coffee drinks but the taste leaves one wanting. I want them to do good. There are better foams and syrups out there. Check out the syrup that Porto's uses for their ube matcha. There's great small batch syrups as well. Our waiter was lovely. You get the sense that this is possibly his family's business. If not, he definitely had pride in this restaurant and his work which leads me to believe that I would give this place a try again to eat their food and see if they've improved their coffee menu.

We were served ably by the courteous Carlos, who started us off with tasty ham and cheese empanadas (served with a superb spicy aioli), and refreshing guava and maracuya (passion fruit) mocktails. Unfortunately, they were out of chicha spritz, which our daughter was craving, and all other types empanadas - beef, chicken, veggie - were finished! Then we turned our attention to entrées, and ordered causa, pan con chicharrón, and aji de gallina. The causa was a visual treat, the crispy pork belly sandwich was my favorite item on the menu, and the shredded chicken and potatoes over rice was the most filling! Of course, we left room for dessert! They were again out of one of our daughter's favorites - the choco lucuma trifle - so we had to make do with alfajores and lucuma ice cream. These were delicious and were a wonderful way to end the meal. Total bill was about $150 before tip. We will definitely stop by again to try some of the menu items that were not available. Curious about their creative dishes, we next had the Bravazo Paella, an iron skillet of short-grain rice cooked with aji amarillo sofrito, fish broth, saffron, shrimp, mussels, chicken, beef, chorizo, green beans, carrots, and peas--a one pot meal that was great for sharing. But my favorite dish of all was the Fettuccine Bravazo, which came with fettuccine in a creamy yellow huancaina sauce (made of queso fresco and yellow pepper) topped with shaved Parmesan, served alongside Lomo Saltado, cubes of marinated top sirloin stir-fried with onions, tomatoes, and peppers in a savory sauce. The huancaina pasta was creamy and delicious, and the beef in the Lomo Saltado was perfectly tender and juicy--what a creative way of combining two Peruvian classics into a single dish! Overall, the food and service here were both memorable, though the menu prices were undoubtedly high for what we got.
