My wife and I visited this place for the first time and I've gotta say the food was excellent, the ambiance was perfect for a date night, but what really set our experience apart and what will have us coming back was the excellent service we received from Ana! Not only did she make some excellent recommendations (which were all smashing hits!) my wife and I both agreed that both her energy and personality were so refreshing and frankly becoming more the exception than the norm in the service industry. We had excellent interactions with her throughout the night and she really helped make our date night experience there a pleasant and memorable one. We sat outdoors on a beautiful day--the atmosphere was lovely with great vibes, and we even caught some World Cup soccer on the large TV while we dined. It felt casual yet upscale, perfect for unwinding. We started with glasses of wine--my wife loved her Aperol Spritz, and I enjoyed a crisp Pinot Grigio. For our appetizer, we ordered the zucchini florets (fiori di zucca) stuffed with ricotta cheese and served in a marinara sauce. They were delicious and a fantastic way to begin the meal. For our mains, we both went with salads: the Salmon salad for me and the Caesar salad for her. Both were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we wanted--light but satisfying. We enjoyed every bite of everything we ordered. The service was excellent and attentive, which really elevated the experience. We went to Locanda in Livermore last night with our family after taking our kids to the Livermore Bankhead Theater across the street. We were seated promptly on the patio, which was great and kid-friendly--but everything after that was disappointing. It took over an hour to get our food, and when it arrived, it was cold . Our salad came after the entrees, no one checked on us, and we were left with empty water glasses and missing condiments. We have toddlers and there was no sense of urgency or care. No one asked us if we were ok or checked on us after we got our food. Our server was very nice but she admitted she was "slammed" and apologized and said they were busy and under staffed. We spoke to the manager, Mitch, he was dismissive, gave no eye contact, when speaking to us and acted like we were bothering him when sharing our experience. He blamed it on a "busy Friday night,". Busy will NEVER be an excuse I accept . Aren't all restaurants "busy " on Friday nights?Shame on the management here I encourage them to get proper training with customer service standards. The wife and I eat at Locanda in Campbell fairly often, so after wine tasting at Wente and Concannon in Livermore and needing a place to eat we of course decided to try Locanda Livermore. This one has a bit more of a "party" vibe to it than Campbell and most of the seating is outdoors, but the food and service were just as good. A no go on my list from now on. The food was genuinely great and honestly the only redeeming part of the experience but everything else was incredibly disappointing. It took 15 minutes just for someone to take our order and another 25 minutes just to get our drinks. When we asked about the delay, the server wasn't apologetic and instead blamed our choice of drinks and said the bar was taking a long time. The food also took far too long to arrive, making the entire evening feel dragged out and frustrating. What made it worse was watching the next table get their food and drinks much faster, which made us feel uncomfortable and honestly wonder if we were being treated differently. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but the overall experience felt neglectful and poorly handled. Great food alone isn't enough to make up for service that makes guests feel unwelcome. read more

Came to Locanda for the first time this week after seeing good reviews about the pasta but unfortunately we were not very impressed. We ordered the penne alla vodka and the gnocchi - it felt like both were lacking in flavor, and missing salt and spice. We did ask for red pepper flakes and they also gave us a chili paste so that added some more flavor. However the gnocchi felt strangely undercooked as it would feel sticky when eating. This was quite uncomfortable so we didn't finish it. I will say the service was great and all the staff were very nice and friendly, and the ambiance is nice. I meet my parents here for an early dinner today . I was trying to find a place and I found this one on Yelp . It looked delicious I had to give it a try . Walking up they have a great outside area as soon as you come in there is a huge patio very nicely decorated . The inside was very cute with a huge bar in the middle . They do have TV's around the restaurant . The restroom was clean and had a changing table . We ended up sitting outside it was a very nice day we had to enjoy the outside time . The staff were all so nice from the moment we walked in till the moment we walked out . We got greeted both times . Our waiter was so amazing on my bill it says her name is Raffaella M she was so nice and attentive she also spoke Spanish which was a big help with my parents since it's their first language. For our food I got the Gnocchi Mamma Carmela with pesto sauce it was delicious. My parents got Penne Vodka and Lasagna they both enjoyed their dishes . For drinks we got an Espresso Martini and the Basiltini . For dessert I got a cheesecake my mom got a latte and my dad got ice cream. Everything was super delicious. I stopped by Locanda Wine Bar for drinks and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The space has a cozy, stylish feel with a lively bar area, making it a nice spot to grab a drink and relax. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of cocktails. Both drinks were well made and nicely presented. However, there is a bread plate lol Ordered the eggplant however it was burnt. It had a horrible taste, and it was more like a goulash. Locanda and Livermore never disappoints. I've been to Danville several times and Pleasanton once or twice, but I think Livermore is the best one. The same host, mick, is always working, and I like the consistency of that. They make good cocktails, but it's always fun to get an aperol spritz. I definitely prefer sitting outside, but we sat inside today and it wasn't so bad. I just like the outside vibe much better. The pizza here is good. I've had most, if not all, of them. Tonight we had the meat lovers pizza and it tasted extra good! The crust was really crispy, but not in an overcooked way. We also had the Locanda salad with prawns and that's one of my favorites here. I've had dessert here once, a tiramisu that was prepared differently. It did taste good though. Came here for a birthday celebration dinner and had a great time! The staff was super accommodating, they let us have our table earlier than our reservation time, which we really appreciated. Service throughout the evening was excellent, and we absolutely loved our waitresses, so friendly and attentive! Food-wise, the highlight for us was definitely the salmon ravioli, the filling was flavorful and the sauce was light and refreshing. We also tried the lasagna, which was decent, but most of us felt it could've used a bit more meat. However, it was a particularly windy day and the seating was all outdoors, but our space heater was not working for the majority of the meal. Each table came with a couple blankets which was very thoughtful, but personally I don't enjoy using communal blankets if I can avoid it, especially if I have to wear it on my upper body while eating Anyways, recommend the pulpo and the pizzas are pretty large portions for one person as well. read more

BLUF: The owner has zero respect and zero consideration for people with physical disabilities by parking in a handicapped spot that is NOT meant for an able-bodied person like him. The food was good, service was great from our server, but all of that was ruined after the incident that happened. I considered whether I should write about it and after much consideration, I feel it's my duty to share this awful experience with others. If you know someone with a physical disability or you yourself do, you'll understand where I'm coming from and why this topic hits a nerve for me. There's 3 parking spots right up front to the restaurant, 1 of which is handicapped parking and the owner parked there. To make things worse, he parked into and over the striped lines on the ground as well, which are meant to give you more space to pull out a wheelchair ramp. He had no sticker or placard hung up in his vehicle. When Livermore PD came out to question him, his vehicle was still there, and he told the officer that he could park there because it's his private property. just wow. I was shocked and in disbelief. The Livermore PD officer asked him why he would park there if he's not handicapped. The owner's response was something to the effect of... ***I like to park here when I'm here*** again, WOW. Apparently it's up to the owner if he wants to enforce the handicapped parking because it's his private property. So Livermore PD could not make him move his vehicle and could not fine him. It's a mockery and a joke to have that handicapped spot there if he's just going to park there whenever he feels like it. If he so strongly felt the need for a special parking spot up front, then there's 2 other vacant spots next to this one, and he could have easily made one for himself with a sign, "Reserved for Owner". Problem solved. To witness him take up a space NOT meant for him, was such a slap in the face to all people with physical disabilities who would benefit from having a spot right up front. And yes I have a photo of his vehicle in that spot, but I will not be posting it. Again, I feel a certain type of way about people who do this. Idc if you're parking there "real quick" just to grab your to-go food b/c you don't wanna find a parking spot and walk or if you're just parking there because it's the only available spot. park somewhere ELSE or LEAVE. The people who do this are lazy and entitled able-bodied individuals who have no consideration for people with physical disabilities. God forbid they themselves become disabled one day or a loved one, and need one of those spots. Then they would understand how it feels. This behavior from the owner is absolutely disgusting and I cannot support a business where the owner, of all people, feels entitled to park in a spot reserved for people with physical disabilities, which he did not have a placard or sticker for, when questioned by the Livermore PD officer. read more

Locanda Wine Bar is unlike anything else on first st in Livermore. From the ambiance and decor to food and service, it felt like we were dining in a coastal town in Italy. The only thing missing was the actual coast. From appetizer to dessert, everything was incredibly delectable and had layers of flavor. The staff even gave us free Nutella martini shots which were perfect after our delectable desserts and a perfect end to a great meal. We ate so much but didn't feel overstuffed which is always a great feeling. If you're in Livermore and need a place to eat after some wine tasting, go to Locanda.
