we've been waiting for this place to open for a bit, so we were excited to finally try it! the server was really nice and friendly, and the restaurant itself is really large and spacious with lots of seating. the ambiance is pretty dark and dimly lit. we started with the complimentary chips and salsas, which were okay. we then ordered a quesadilla and chicken fajitas to share. it wasn't too crowded when we went and there was only one worker handling the restaurant, so the food did take a while to come out, but everything tasted good once it did. portion sizes were decent and the prices were pretty reasonable. the chicken in the quesadilla was a little chewy, but the chicken in the fajitas was more flavorful. i also liked the presentation of the rice and beans in the taco bowls, although i wasn't a huge fan of the texture of the refried beans. the fajitas came with 4 tortillas, which was a good amount for sharing. they also have a happy hour menu with some great prices. we got the mexican mule and paloma from it, and both were really good and nicely presented, especially for the price. we also ended up getting the churros, which were definitely the highlight of the meal for me. they were warm and filled, and came with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. there's definitely some room for improvement since this is a newer business, but overall i think it's a good spot if you're looking for an inexpensive mexican restaurant with decent portions. read more

We've been hearing great things about El Dorado. So we wanted to check it out on a Monday. To save you the read, we will definitely be back. I really enjoyed everything we ordered. The hostess was very kind and asked if we were ok with our table as the setting sun was shining in. There were plenty of items on the menu that sounded good. Always a nice problem to have! The kids menu prices were $10 or under, which we always appreciate. The kids drinks were about $2.50. We started with the table side guac. It was really good, limey, like we like it & a rough smash. We opted for no jalapeños. My husband got the super wet burrito with shredded beef. It was huge! Price was $18. The beef was very flavorful. I got the enchiladas Suizas - one cheese & one chicken. It was topped with the sauce, avocado slices, and a drizzle of crème fresh. I really enjoyed it. Kids meals we rested: - pastor taco with lettuce added, no beans. - Dino nuggets & fries. My daughter doesn't love Dino nuggets, she's prefer tenders. But, it would be nice if she actually ordered a taco or quesadilla at a Mexican restaurant! That's just her issue. Not the restaurant's. The service was fine. No issues. Interior is a mix of full booths, standalone tables and booths where half is booth seating and half chairs. It should be good for groups given the space they have. Chips and salsa were brought almost immediately. The chips were light , seemed unsalted but some of the chips seemed on their way to being stale. The food was one of the rare cases where I did not want to finish my food and I most definitely did not want the leftovers. This gringa thinks it's the worst Mexican food she's ever had given how salty the entree food was. The chicken enchiladas were salty as well as tamal. Oddly, the masa of the tamal felt saltier than the pork and that was already a bit salty. So grateful I'd ordered a horchata as well as water at the beginning because both were needed. We recently tried this new Mexican restaurant and came away thinking it has a lot of potential. The owners did a nice job remodeling the space. It has a clean, upscale feel, although it could use some artwork on the walls to make it feel a little warmer. We also noticed there was no background music playing, which made the dining room feel a bit quiet. Music would have really helped create a better atmosphere. This is definitely more of an upscale Mexican restaurant, and the prices reflect that. I had read other reviews mentioning huge portions, but we didn't find that to be the case. The serving sizes seemed pretty comparable to other Mexican restaurants. The complimentary salsa and queso were both very good. The quesa birria tacos whcih came with 3 not 2 tacos per the menu were flavorful, although I thought they had too much cilantro for my taste. My burrito was decent but fairly average. The shrimp salad was probably the biggest disappointment. The shrimp were overcooked, and the dressing tasted mostly like plain vinegar. One surprise was that both the rice and beans were quite spicy. We weren't expecting that, so it might be worth mentioning on the menu. We ordered two margaritas. The first was excellent, but the second was much sweeter, so there seemed to be some inconsistency in the preparation. Service was good throughout most of the meal, but when it came time to pay the bill, everyone seemed to go MIA. We waited quite a while before we could finally get our check. Overall, I think this restaurant has a lot of potential. It's nice to have an upscale Mexican restaurant in the area. We'll definitely give it a couple more tries and see if they work the kinks out because I think this could become a really great addition to the community. Soft opening is a way for a new establishment to work out the kinks. So leave feedback, not complaints. They have Big beautiful bar, plenty of dining space. Amazing music, not too loud. And very friendly runners, servers and we spoke with the manager twice, I rarely see a management table touch these days. My Feed back: experience starts at the door. Hostess, even though new and some training , biggest notice was, no smiles, quiet and unsure of where they were going. We decided to give El Dorado a try on a weeknight just a few days after their initial soft opening. The interior was warmly modern and newly renovated although a tad bit plain, perhaps nodding to the final decor yet to come. The staff as welcoming and professionally efficient throughout our visit. We started at a table and were transferred to seating at the bar at the first available opportunity as requested. The bartender was efficient and friendly, checking in on us frequently. We ordered a margaritas and the flautas. The margaritas were spot on, not too sweet. The flautas were perfect, freshly made just perfectly tender soft and crisp. I recently visited this brand new restaurant in Dublin with my family during their soft opening! We really enjoyed our time here from the moment we stepped in. The young hostess was very sweet and brought us to our table, At our table our server was very fun and talkative. He made the experience memorable, he was also very knowledgeable about the food and drinks available. It felt like the kind of local restaurant you want to come back to because of the warm and kind people who work there. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful, I like how they were able to take some of the elements of the former restaurant who held this space and make it into their own. The way they painted the walls and decorated the place brightened it up in a happy and inviting way with nods to Mexican culture. I love how it is decorated! New up and coming restaurant in Dublin! We enjoyed a nice dinner at El Dorado during their soft opening. The restaurant is very big and clean inside. The vibe is a bit more upscale than other Mexican restaurants in the tri-valley, which is a nice differentiator since we don't have many restaurants like this. For a soft opening, they had a limited menu but it still had a ton of different options. I ordered chicken fajitas and my husband ordered carne asada. We both enjoyed our meals, and felt they were good for the price. I had plenty of fajitas left over for lunch the next day. Service was decent, but with more experience I'm sure it will improve. The Wife and I stopped by after reading reviews. I feel like Yelpers are harsh on Mexican restaurants. We found the interior quite spacious, with tall booths and two person tables. We sat in a booth, and ordered a Modelo and shrimp fajitas for me, and sopes for The Wife. They have different bean options - refried, pinto and black beans, all vegetarian. But the waiter noted that the rice is cooked in chicken broth. Astute of him to point that out. While waiting for our food, he stopped by with a green mocktail, indicating that the bar had made a mistake, and asking The Wife if she'd like it. It was a green blossom, with the incredible mix of avocado, basil, apple, celery, lemon, ginger, flaxseed and honeydew. Perfectly scrumptious. The chips were crispy and came with two salsas. One seemed to be mixed with cheese, and was spicier, but not too much for me. The fajitas were excellent - the shrimp may have been slightly overcooked, but not by much. Plenty of onions, peppers and mushrooms mixed in. The sopes were also very good. Both came with refried beans in a little fried red tortilla cup, attractive. There's a nice looking full bar that you might not even see until you use one of the clean restrooms. Our waiter Jesus G did a real fine job, and we were never waiting long for anything. Update based on second visit review - based on our first experience we brought a couple family members and a friend. We were seated right away in an empty section, then the wait started. After watching other party's seated after us and ordered drinks and food and no one had even stopped by our table. 15-20 mins pass and we flag a busy boy and asked him to send our server. Turns out the hostess sat us in a section with no server, then a couple servers argued who would take the table. Finally one showed up, apologized and took our order, he did a sufficient job. Then the food arrived, it was under whelming husband and I ordered the same items from our first visit. However, this time the mix fajitas were bland, my chicken burrito was okay, the green sauce was cold and dumped on the burrito. Others on the table had issues with their food too. Didn't take any pictures this time around. Asked for the manager and the owner came and was apologetic about our experience. To make up he surprised us with a dessert the house, it was very good. Our check was over 250 for 5 people, I was the only one that had one margarita all others were soft drinks. Overall I give it 8/10. We decided to have a late lunch and showed up at 3:30pm. Just in time for Happy Hour. Drinks only on the happy hour menu, but $6.99 for a delicious classic margarita is right down my alley. Food is a little pricey but here is what we thought: Chips 6/10 - waitress said they are made in-house but they were a little hard to chew Salsa 7/10 - the orange salsa is habanero and the red sauce is a little watered down. They are both flavorful and pretty spicy just like I like them. Guacamole 7/10 - the little tostadas that came with it are homemade and so delicious. The guac good I use cilantro. Quesobirria Tacos 8/10 Chili Relleno 8/10 Chilé Colorado 9/10 Rice and beans 7/10 Margaritas 10/10 Corn tortillas are made in-house but the flour tortillas are not. Restaurant still in soft opening so I will give them time to enhance their plates. I think they could be great! Was really disappointed with the food here. The place itself is really nice. Gives Mexican vibes but still has a modern look to it. It was the soft opening so they weren't busy. We were sat right away and given our menus. Service was great, our server was very attentive and helpful with questions. We ordered the chicken mole enchiladas, taco salad with ground beef, shrimp salad and a wet burrito with steak. None of it was good. The Mole was too sweet and didn't taste fresh made. The rice had some weird taste to it, couldn't put my finger on it but it was a little sour. The shrimp salad was bland and felt more like a protein bowl rather than a nice salad put together. The shrimp wasn't seasoned and didn't look grilled but who knows. The taco salad was a let down. The beef tasted sour and was unappetizing. The taco bowl was stuffed with a lot of filler cabbage and barely any lettuce. The wet burrito was also bland and salty at the same time which doesn't make sense but that's how it tasted. The only saving grace were my refried beans. They were actually really good. I don't know sometimes I feel like maybe I'm too harsh. If it was just one person who didn't enjoy their food I'd have a different opinion because I know sometimes things are just off but when it's all four people that had issues with their food, I know it's not just me being overly critical. The Calamari appetizer ($17.99) was nicely prepared and cooked well, but we felt it was overpriced for the portion size and probably wouldn't order it again.For our mains, my wife ordered the beef tostada with rice and beans on the side. She really enjoyed the tostada and said the rice was good, but the beans were quite watery. I went with the Mexican Salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was tasty and well-seasoned, and I appreciated the other fresh vegetables included. However, the lettuce pieces were far too large (clearly not chopped properly), and the salad came with very little dressing. It took quite a while to flag down our waiter for more dressing.Service was the biggest issue this visit. It was very slow overall, our drinks took a long time to arrive, and we had to remind the waiter multiple times. Given that they've only been open a few weeks, I understand they're still working through some growing pains and a learning curve.We'll definitely give them another try in about a month to see how things have improved. There's clear potential here, especially with some of the dishes we enjoyed, but several areas (kitchen execution on basics, portion/pricing balance, and service flow) need attention, particularly in a competitive market like Dublin.Would I return? When we arrived, we were promptly seated and attended to, and I have to say that the service was very good throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. In fact, none of us were able to finish our meals. It was especially disappointing because these are dishes that, when prepared well, should be very enjoyable. The agua de Jamaica was good, but the horchata tasted very watered down. We were also charged a 20% gratuity. While I don't necessarily have a problem with the gratuity itself, I don't feel our party of 7 (3 of whom were children) really qualified as a large party. We also noticed that we had been charged for two extra dishes. Once we brought it to their attention, they promptly corrected the mistake and refunded the money, which I appreciated. I'm leaving this review because I believe this restaurant has potential. The service was friendly and attentive, and the staff was pleasant. However, the food and some aspects of the service definitely need more refinement. Perhaps the kitchen is trying to handle too much at once, because the dishes we ordered are generally not difficult to prepare well. I hope the owners and management take this review as constructive feedback. There is potential here, but the food quality and consistency need significant improvement. I ordered the enchiladas Souza and not only did they list a wide range of meat options, when I said chicken they said grilled or shredded? I love the added flavor of grilled meats and chose that. It was served with fresh avocado slices on top. Their rice and beans were outstanding. Especially the refried beans. They tasted fresh and flavorful - had to be made on site. Hubby ordered a burrito and it was fabulous too. Their margaritas fresh and flavorful and the service was great. They do need to add a little to their decor but the food was so so good! I asked for shedded beef and ended up getting chicken . I asked for a dinner and I received an appetizer. It was ok though. The food was good. The second visit We walked in at 5:pm and no one was there. We took a seat and waiting about 5 min for the host. We sat down and ordered margaritas and they were amazing. The bar tender is good. We ordered our food. The food came but we had no silverware or napkins. The waitress was ok, she had way too much perfume on. I felt like I could taste it.
