Enjococado

I must admit, I went here with not too high expectations as I saw mixed customer reviews on many items here. But the place didn't disappoint. Was an amazing experience. The ambience, the food, the vegetarian options for my friends, the dessert, the complimentary chips n salsa. .all great. The portions look big but are good for a full meal of an adult. Definitely recommended. I ordered enjococado n the chicken was well marinated, soft and tasty. It came with 3 small tortillas and some rice.

Came here for a friend's birthday on a Saturday night and had a reservation, so we were seated right away. They brought out complimentary chips and salsa for the table. Food: I ordered the two enchiladas plate. It comes with two enchiladas of your choice, rice, and fried black beans. - Suizas w/ Chicken (topped with green sauce & sour cream): 4/5 I think this one was slightly better than the Rancheras Enchilada w/ chicken. Cooked well and had good flavor. - Rancheras w/ Chicken (topped with red sauce, cotija & oregano): 4/5 Also not bad. Not too salty, but just wasn't amazing lol Service: Server was super friendly and funny. He was a cool guy and got all the orders correct. Pricing: A bit pricey imo because the food is just alright. They also charge a slicing fee if you bring your own cake. Ambiance: Nice outdoor atmosphere. I don't even know what it looks like inside, but it seemed like most tables are outside. They have outdoor heaters which is nice and it was clean :-) Parking: Downtown parking really depends on how busy it is. We had to park at least a couple blocks away Overall, not a bad restaurant, but not amazing ... Would only come back if I really wanted an enchilada...

This is probably the cutest little Mexican restaurant in Pleasanton! The ambiance is great, the service was quick and the mango margarita was fabulous! My friend ordered the steak and it was amazing. My meal wasn't soooo great, but the queso fundito was worth it!!

I would definitely come to this place again, given the atmosphere and location. However the food is okay. We ordered enchiladas and those came out fine, but the sides of rice and beans did not taste the greatest. I am a big fan of the chips and salsa service with a variety of salsa options. Overall great place especially for someone who does come to Pleasanton often.

downtown pleasanton is so cute so i love the vibes! the service was good too, very friendly people. the chicken nachos were a really big portion and i liked them a lot! the chips and salsa at the beginning were good but a little stale

Buffet menu, I would advise against attending their buffet. This was super bad (see review for details).

I heard great things about this place and my daughter just moved to Pleasanton so I made a reservation to eat here for Easter. Upon arrival I learned there was a prix fixe menu which was essentially a buffet. Our reservation was for 2 PM and after we were seated we were clued in that they were shutting the place down as we were being seated. We thought we should go but the servers showed us the buffet and encouraged us to grab a plate and eat. This buffet was HORRIBLE. Cold pancakes, sausage that was cold to the touch, several bins of food empty or missing. It was the worst buffet ever! Like the free buffet at the local Holiday Inn Express would blow this thing away. When I got the bill they charged us $45 per person which is straight up robbery. We wanted to still enjoy our Easter brunch and attempted to have a conversation at the table while we sipped our drinks but the servers kept grabbing our plates and cups and clearly wanted us out of there. So we arrived at 2PM for our 2PM reservation and were out of there by 3PM and down close to $300. My advice would be to not go to the place as they don't seem to be aware of the product they are serving and open appointments for time slots that they don't care to serve warm food in.

This restaurant is so beautiful from the outside that we were very excited to try it out, but unfortunately the whole visit fell very short of our expectations. We came for dinner around 6pm on a Friday and were seated inside because it was hot outside. However, apparently they don't use the AC inside the restaurant, so it was almost hotter inside than if we had sat outside. It was an uncomfortable humid feeling. The service was pretty slow throughout. The food and drinks were subpar. The mango margarita pitcher was good, but nothing special for $42. The ceviche appetizer was pretty good, but small portion for the price. Lastly, both our main courses were awful. My chicken mole enchiladas were so dry and flavorless. I removed the tortilla (which I could barely cut through) and only ate the chicken. My husband ordered the Agave bowl and none of the flavors sat well and didn't taste authentic. Our meal was pretty expensive but we left so disappointed. I would not visit again and wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Lots of other great restaurants in downtown Pleasanton to try out instead!

Blue agave margarita

Apparently my husband's friend had the best shot of tequila he's ever had at this establishment, and I don't doubt it. Live music on a Wednesday evening was such a treat too! Blue agave margarita ($11): This had triple sec and herradura silver tequila - I loved it! You can get a margarita pitcher for at least $38, which I think is so worth it even between 2 people. Their fruit margarita pitchers are $42, and I'm eyeing that next. Mole poblano ($26.50): Okay, this is a massive plate. Husband for size reference in my photo - like wow!! He thought this was delicious, and the dark sauce was so unique that he would come back again for it. Enchiladas (pick 2, $23): I got the suizas enchilada (cheese, green sauce, sour cream) and the enjococado enchilada (the 100 year old family recipe featured in a magazine). Both were really tasty, but it's hard to stomach paying this much for a plate I can get around the corner for half that price. Blue Agave has been around since 1997, so I completely understand the pride and prestige behind high-end Mexican cuisine in Pleasanton. We wanted to try a bit of history :)

Always consistently good! Customer service is stellar. There's a discrepancy with prices on the menu on OpenTable when viewed through an iPhone versus a Samsung phone. We found that out when we received the bill. We brought it to their attention and the hostess and manager fixed it for us, no questions asked. Will continue to come here for many years to come!

Shrimp and crab enchiladas

This was a spontaneous choice when our original spot for dinner was booked for the night. They have a beautiful, large, covered outdoor area that's perfect for summer dinners with family and/or friends. I ordered the shrimp and crab enchiladas; it definitely hit the spot. I got the jalapeño margarita and my cousin got the mango margarita. The drinks could have been a tad bit stronger; I felt like they were a little watered down. The food was delicious, and the servers would routinely come around to ask if we wanted a refill on the chips and salsa. The area is super cute with wine bars, bars, ice cream shops to try after dinner. I would definitely come back to try different menu items.

I loved the jerk pork tacos! The pork was juicy, tender, and aromatic, and the mango-papaya salsa added a refreshing sweetness. I also tried the paella Oyo that my sister ordered which was sooo yummy and full of protein. The small size was more than enough! My mom ordered the oxtail stew which wasn't on their brunch/lunch menu (dinner only), but I really appreciate that they were accommodating to make that dish for her. I've never had oxtail and it was delicious--tender, perfectly sweet and savory, and paired well with the plantains. The other dishes that my family ordered were hits too (jerk pork shoulder and seafood paella). We also tried the ripe plantains pancake Oscar for a sweet treat. I love anything marshmallow, so the brûléed marshmallow cream that blanketed the pancakes was heavenly. It also came with a plantain on top and a few other fruits to balance out the sweetness. Overall, we left full and all around very satisfied. The staff showed us such warm hospitality and came around often to check on us, despite being an almost packed house. The decor was beautiful and the atmosphere had a fun lively energy. With indoor and outdoor seating options, anywhere you get seated is a nice spot. Can't wait to visit again to try their dinner menu items and drinks, and hopefully catch some live music!

The ambiance is cute with a small closed off glass area of wine and two seater table inside! Our waitress Dominique was amazing. She was able to give great recommendations for wines and food. She also made us feel taken cared of and was friendly/warm. The food is a mix of mexican/euro/american so there were a lot of different options. Here are the things we got: Appetizers - Parm crusted cauliflower: so good, nice and crunchy but not too heavily breaded. The chipotle mayo was delish - Chicharrones: so light and crispy! They were hot out of the fryer. It had a side of a corn cheese dip that was so good and made it more unique of a dish -- must try if you even kind of eat chicharrones. I don't generally like pork skin but I enjoyed it regardless. - Hamachi ceviche: this is a large sharing portion with chunks of hamachi and avocado. Good but not a must have. Entrees - Enchiladas: very cheesy and overall a good dish but I would skip this. - Shrimp tostadas: large size shrimp and it just comes with two tostadas so I don't think it was worth the price - Barramundi fillet: The fish was tender and juicy. I liked the marinades that came with it. I liked this dish with the rice because it made me feel homey. Good portion of fish. - Agua Chile Ribeye: This is a must have! The ribeye is sous vide so it was soo tender and juicy. The broth was really nice to keep everything moist and flavorful. Because we were celebrating a birthday, Dominique made a dessert with a nice special touch. Will definitely be back again!

My husband had the chile relleno burrito & I had the carne asada. They were both very flavorful & good portion of meat! The churro was good too! Great selection of salsa too ! All homemade. I got another Mexican place to go to in Dublin. One note though. They don't seem to have free water. I've never encountered this before & I believe California requires restaurants to provide this. Do what you want with this information.

Now it gets weird. They ALWAYS used to include a mini cup of each of the salsas in my delivery orders. Last four delivery orders, they stopped giving the green jalapeño salsa. So because I love it so much, I specifically order an 8oz tub of it. Guess what they delivered? Not the jalapeño salsa but rather their other green one which is a garlic salsa. Could've reported it and received a DoorDash refund, but i left it alone. The last two deliveries, they also did not include the dorito pinwheels like they always do, so I drive there to get 'em. Even gave them $5 for something free, bc ya know - just helping a business out and the owner guy is nice and was apologetic. Now today, I was in the area, so i stopped in for a taco, agua fresca, a large bag of those pinwheel doritos and an 8oz tub of the jalapeño salsa especially because the salsa bar was empty and the other orange one i like was not made well this time. So watery yuck. The girl taking orders didn't seem like she was well versed in punching orders into their system. Took awhile for her to enter those 4 items I ordered and needed to grab one of the other staff to help her, but whatever - still tipped her 18%. Then, why in the world would they finish up my order then tell me they're completely out of the jalapeño salsa and then ask if I want an 8oz tub of another salsa? So at this point, it seems they're trying to do the same thing as when i ordered this specific salsa for delivery and hope i'll be ok with something else, right? It also looked almost performative when the girl opened the cabinet under the salsa bar looking for more jalapeño salsa before she told me they were completely out. I respond with "that's the only salsa I wanted. I can wait while they make more. can they make more?" she says no. twice. I let her know that I wanted to be refunded for the salsa and bag of dorito pinwheels. All of a sudden they magically found more jalapeño salsa. All of this to say I'm now absolutely convinced the staff is trying to hoard this specific salsa for whatever reason. Like i said, it's delicious, but not a reason to freakin hoard it for yourself when that's a reason your customers come back. I'll also add that the quality of the food these last two times around was no bueno. The amount of lengua and garnish in my taco was just sad. Literally, the taco I ordered today is the same taco I have pictured in my original review, but then opened it up when i got home and looked nothing like it did before. I've recommended this place to my coworkers and now I take it back and it seems the other Yelpers agree that this is no longer the place we loved. Definitely taking a break from this place. To the owner - I think when you're not there, your team is unfortunately letting you down and giving your customers a different food experience then what you provide and are known for.

My kids always want quesadilla with rice and beans (no meat). They had a super quesadilla, just cheese, so we got them that with a side of rice and beans for them to split. The portions were perfect for my big boys. My husband got enchiladas rojas with asada. He loved the taste on all of it, but next time would probably get double rice, no beans. He's not a fan of beans, so it's just a personal preference. I got the STAR of the show, their POZOLE was 10/10. They brought it out before I could even get my drink, they were so fast. They didn't just bring the pozole, they gave me the works: oregano, chili oil, tostadas, radish, and cabbage to put on it. It was so delicious, I'm already planning to go back next sunday! The so called basket of complimentary chips were stale and had and were being heated under a heat lamp. Unfortunately, they have a fly problem, I had to shew away a couple of flies several times while eating. One thing that causes this that they keep their from dual entrance doors open which is a No No. Of course flies are attracted and come inside. Lastly the churros they almost forgot that I ordered it, I had to remind them. They were unfortunately the worst churros very hard barrel edible. About two 6 inch in size cut .The rice was unflavored and the beans were canned refried with just shredded cheese on top .So with all these issues I described on my first visit led me to rate it a 3/5 for Dos Amigos.
