The ambiance is cute with a small closed off glass area of wine and two seater table inside! Our waitress Dominique was amazing. She was able to give great recommendations for wines and food. She also made us feel taken cared of and was friendly/warm. The food is a mix of mexican/euro/american so there were a lot of different options. Here are the things we got: Appetizers - Parm crusted cauliflower: so good, nice and crunchy but not too heavily breaded. The chipotle mayo was delish - Chicharrones: so light and crispy! They were hot out of the fryer. It had a side of a corn cheese dip that was so good and made it more unique of a dish -- must try if you even kind of eat chicharrones. I don't generally like pork skin but I enjoyed it regardless. - Hamachi ceviche: this is a large sharing portion with chunks of hamachi and avocado. Good but not a must have. Entrees - Enchiladas: very cheesy and overall a good dish but I would skip this. - Shrimp tostadas: large size shrimp and it just comes with two tostadas so I don't think it was worth the price - Barramundi fillet: The fish was tender and juicy. Love the place, the food, the ambiance, the service, but that 3% surcharge on credit cards has got to go. It simply gets deducted from the tip anyway. It's not the waiters' fault, I know, but it's the only recourse I have. Maybe when enough waiters get dinged they too will ask that it be removed. In today's economy, it's a reasonable assumption that if you did not take credit cards your establishment would be a lot emptier. It had been years since I'd last been here, so I came back with a couple of friends for Paella Mondays. I really liked that they had live music playing, it added to the overall vibe of the evening. The paella was a good portion for two people to share. It came out in the classic paella pan and was pretty good overall. We might've had leftovers if we weren't so hungry. My only complaint was that it was missing that crispy rice layer at the bottom, which is my favorite part of paella. For dessert, we shared the tres leches cake, and wow, the slice was huge and definitely meant for sharing, and also delicious. The restaurant was very busy that night and packed with people. Some of the other menu items are on the pricey side. As someone who grew up eating Mexican food, it's hard for me to justify paying those prices for dishes I'm used to making at home. We went here for lunch to this hidden gem in Livermore. We made a reservation in case they were busy but being a Friday afternoon, it was not busy. The place had a very romantic ambiance and the lights were dim. They had a large selection of drinks and a full bar. The food was delicious. Came here on Monday and it was phenomenal. I enjoyed the live music and the Chipotle Chicken Paella was great with a lot going in a good way. The chef was accommodating and allowed us to order the Roasted Poblano Pepper-Honey Butter Vegetables even though Mondays are only for Paellas, and we were able exclude the chorizo due to dietary restrictions of my accompanying party members. I liked that they accommodated the hurry we had because my mother had a flight to catch. The poblano pepper dish had a salsa-ey vibe in terms of taste going on with a nice honey taste and the pepper was also great. Came here on a weekend night and this place was pretty packed. We had made an online reservation and the place was pretty crowded when we got here. I ordered the King Ranch enchiladas and my partner ordered the shrimp and chorizo pasta. We shared the crispy cauliflower. The cauliflower was probably the best dish with its sauce. The pasta was bland even though the shrimp and chorizo had some flavor. The enchiladas were cheesy yet bland and I don't think the bacon went very well with it. The rice that came with the enchiladas was a little hard and there was very little corn with it. The enchiladas could have used more flavor and sauce. I ordered salsa on the side and they charged $3 extra. The drinks were also fine, but again nothing special. We also ordered churros and those were pretty standard. I think what annoyed us is that they charge a 3% charge to use a card -- as if the prices of the food was not already high. Even though we could not make reservations online for lunch on a Sunday, only one other party was there. So don't worry about coming early to get a table. That's a total of 3 stars for this visit! Posada did not receive a star for the Food Taste because I ordered "medium RARE" for the wagyu flank and what was delivered to the table was well done, which completely ruined the texture and taste of the meat, making it taste like sand paper. I've had Wagyu at different restaurants plus I've ordered Wagyu from places like Snake River and The Wagyu Shop. The piece of meat that was served did not taste like Wagyu. As far as I could tell, there was no marbling and no buttery taste. It really was "sandpapery". Was a disappointment as I was looking forward to a great piece of meat. Posada did not earn a star for VALUE for two reasons. The prices are high for what is served. For the amount charged, I can get some really wonderful dishes at other local restaurants in the same level AND Posada is one of a small population of restaurants that charges a 3% fee (3% of the bill) if the customer elects to use a credit card. A long time favorite...this year we had the pleasure of dining on Thanksgiving. We have always had a homemade feast, but it was just us....my hubby, DD and her family this year. The staff was very accommodating and providing a heater since it was just a little Chilly. Our server was very quick and accommodating made great recommendations.
