    Shrimp, guacamole and chips Guacamole

Stopped in for some early Friday evening snacks and drinks. Staff were friendly and attentive, and made great recommendations. We tried the sangrita and the tequila flight along with the shrimp and guacamole with chips. Everything tasted amazing. Place is a little pricey but worth it. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking access.

Overall a lackluster birthday meal with our server Jessica. She was unfriendly and inattentive throughout the visit. She routinely checked on every table but ours. She didn't check in on us once, and my husband went most of the meal without water and couldn't even tell her his steak was overcooked. The rest of the staff were wonderful and friendly, as usual. Food was generally good, too. But this visit was lacking service-wise so it'll be a while before we come back.

It had been years since I'd last been here, so I came back with a couple of friends for Paella Mondays. I really liked that they had live music playing, it added to the overall vibe of the evening. The paella was a good portion for two people to share. It came out in the classic paella pan and was pretty good overall. We might've had leftovers if we weren't so hungry. My only complaint was that it was missing that crispy rice layer at the bottom, which is my favorite part of paella. For dessert, we shared the tres leches cake, and wow, the slice was huge and definitely meant for sharing, and also delicious. The restaurant was very busy that night and packed with people. Some of the other menu items are on the pricey side. As someone who grew up eating Mexican food, it's hard for me to justify paying those prices for dishes I'm used to making at home. That said, paella is something that takes time and effort and isn't something I normally make myself, so it felt more worth it. Overall, a fun night with good food, live music, and a lively atmosphere.

This was a dog friendly restaurant which was our first priority. The food selection was wonderful. The presentation was gorgeous. And the service was excellent.

My bf and I stumbled upon here while looking for a spot to eat at near his workplace at the time. Turns out we loved it so much, we will be returning even though it is far from us! The chicharrones and corn cheese dip was to die for -- the crispy crackiness paired with the dip was enough for me to come back! Then the king ranch enchiladas with the side of rice and corn made the meal 10x better. Service is attentive and ambience is very nice!

We went here for lunch to this hidden gem in Livermore. We made a reservation in case they were busy but being a Friday afternoon, it was not busy. The place had a very romantic ambiance and the lights were dim. They had a large selection of drinks and a full bar. The food was delicious. I had several appetizers: breaded cauliflower, chicharrón con queso fundido and esquite. I also had the asada dinner plate. For dessert we had the churros with coffee. The waiter was very nice and very attentive. I will definitely be back. It was a very pleasant experience.

Roasted Poblano Pepper-Honey Butter Vegetables and in the back Chipotle Chicken Paella

Came here on Monday and it was phenomenal. I enjoyed the live music and the Chipotle Chicken Paella was great with a lot going in a good way. The chef was accommodating and allowed us to order the Roasted Poblano Pepper-Honey Butter Vegetables even though Mondays are only for Paellas, and we were able exclude the chorizo due to dietary restrictions of my accompanying party members. I liked that they accommodated the hurry we had because my mother had a flight to catch. The poblano pepper dish had a salsa-ey vibe in terms of taste going on with a nice honey taste and the pepper was also great. If you're in the mood for paella on Monday this is the place to go.

Really enjoyed this place in Livermore. It's a little hidden, but it's nice and fancy. I loved the Chicharron and whiskey selection. The service was excellent and they made us feel very welcoming. Would highly come back here again with my family.

Some of thee best tacos. My favorite was the veggie. I liked the rice and corn add on, but I still would like the traditional beans. Everything was a la cart, which allows you to mix and match. I would recommend and will be back.

    King ranch enchiladas

Came here on a weekend night and this place was pretty packed. We had made an online reservation and the place was pretty crowded when we got here. I ordered the King Ranch enchiladas and my partner ordered the shrimp and chorizo pasta. We shared the crispy cauliflower. The cauliflower was probably the best dish with its sauce. The pasta was bland even though the shrimp and chorizo had some flavor. The enchiladas were cheesy yet bland and I don't think the bacon went very well with it. The rice that came with the enchiladas was a little hard and there was very little corn with it. The enchiladas could have used more flavor and sauce. I ordered salsa on the side and they charged $3 extra. The drinks were also fine, but again nothing special. We also ordered churros and those were pretty standard. I think what annoyed us is that they charge a 3% charge to use a card -- as if the prices of the food was not already high. We weren't very happy with our food here and I'm not sure we would return.

WOW!!! I brought my mom, aunt and daughter here from out of town. We went based on the Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. We ordered the cauliflower and chicharrones to start. Delicious! The two were a perfect balance. We each ordered something different, wagyu tacos, mahi mahi tacos, chicken tinga taco, rajas taco, watermelon salad, beet salad, and the table shared the king ranch enchiladas- all were phenomenal but the service, Sheri our waitress made all of our day! She was so wonderful, she thought of everything. We had leftovers and she knew we were planning on going downtown for a little shopping, she carefully packed our leftovers in a bag with ice to keep it fresh, she brought extra sauce for our enchiladas that we had for our to go container, she took our picture after eating, she is a jewel of a person. I wish I could give 10 stars, the ambiance, food and service were the BEST we have ever experienced! We will be back soon!!! Thanks, Sheri and Eduardo for making us feel like family!!! We will never forget our wonderful meal at Posada Alta Cocina!

We love Posada! The staff is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. It's a great spot for groups, solo dining, or dates. Mondays are paella night with live music. Always a treat!

Adding the 4 stars to balance out my review to get it to 4.5 stars. Don't know why Yelp can't do .5's in reviews.

On Resy, when making a reservation, it gives the option of the dining room, patio, or an Jefe Table...what is an Jefe Table?

    Do you offer vegan dishes?

    Any vegetarian options?

Yes but not many. They won't allow customizing the menu according to your food choice. For veg option, you can go with watermelon salad, and 1 entree.

Can this restaurant host a large group of 15-20 people? Is there a separate room for large group gatherings?

    Yes. No.

    Is the restaurant dog friendly?

The patio is absolutely dog friendly. And they do have heaters out there so it's not a bad spot to hang out with the pooch for amazing food, wine and beer.

We were seated in the very cute outdoor patio, there was plenty of shade so even though it was pretty warm out we were pretty comfortable. We shared the BBQ platter which was perfect for 3 meat eaters and my partner had the vegetarian mushroom pasta. The platter was great, the beef especially was perfectly medium rare and was tender thru every bite. The roasted vegetables included in the platter included Brussel sprouts and cauliflower which were also beautifully caramelized. My partner enjoyed her mushroom pasta, the ridges on the pasta absorbed every bit of the delicious white sauce. Happy to come back, I think the patio space makes it perfect for families of all ages. Looking forward to trying some cocktails next time.

Superb Peruvian cuisine in downtown Pleasanton…read more Our daughter went to Peru this spring and wanted to share some of her culinary experiences with us, so we stopped by for a Sunday evening dinner. We were served ably by the courteous Carlos, who started us off with tasty ham and cheese empanadas (served with a superb spicy aioli), and refreshing guava and maracuya (passion fruit) mocktails. Unfortunately, they were out of chicha spritz, which our daughter was craving, and all other types empanadas - beef, chicken, veggie - were finished! Then we turned our attention to entrées, and ordered causa, pan con chicharrón, and aji de gallina. The causa was a visual treat, the crispy pork belly sandwich was my favorite item on the menu, and the shredded chicken and potatoes over rice was the most filling! Of course, we left room for dessert! They were again out of one of our daughter's favorites - the choco lucuma trifle - so we had to make do with alfajores and lucuma ice cream. These were delicious and were a wonderful way to end the meal. Total bill was about $150 before tip. We will definitely stop by again to try some of the menu items that were not available. Coming in for dinner service, we started with the Pan con Chicharron, a sandwich with a filling of crispy deep-fried pork, picked onions, sweet potato, and aioli on a crusty baguette. The flavors of this sandwich were delicious, though the pork was a little too greasy and sinewy. Curious about their creative dishes, we next had the Bravazo Paella, an iron skillet of short-grain rice cooked with aji amarillo sofrito, fish broth, saffron, shrimp, mussels, chicken, beef, chorizo, green beans, carrots, and peas--a one pot meal that was great for sharing. But my favorite dish of all was the Fettuccine Bravazo, which came with fettuccine in a creamy yellow huancaina sauce (made of queso fresco and yellow pepper) topped with shaved Parmesan, served alongside Lomo Saltado, cubes of marinated top sirloin stir-fried with onions, tomatoes, and peppers in a savory sauce. The huancaina pasta was creamy and delicious, and the beef in the Lomo Saltado was perfectly tender and juicy--what a creative way of combining two Peruvian classics into a single dish! Overall, the food and service here were both memorable, though the menu prices were undoubtedly high for what we got.

Even though my order wasn't ready till 10 minutes after my pickup time, staff was warm and friendly in our brief interactions on site, so I wasn't disappointed with the service. I tried four different empanadas from their menu. The mushroom, ham & cheese, and deep fried cheesy empanadas were super tasty, made fresh with quality ingredients, lots of flavor packed into a flaky shell, it's hard to pick a fave among these three. The deep fried beef empanada was my least favorite, the consistency was off, and I'm not even sure it was properly prepared or cooked all the way, as it was slightly cold, barely lukewarm, in the middle. The milder of their two sauces (huacatay) was indeed mild, lacking in any spice at all, it really didn't taste like anything to me. Luckily, the empanadas were good without it.
