My friend and I came here after a hike in the area and found this spot completely by coincidence! I'm so glad we did because it's AMAZING! They have a super spacious outdoor seating area that's also covered. The folks working here are soooo nice! And everything came out super quick and tasted amazing. My friend got a breakfast burrito and I got the breakfast combo with the Belgian waffle. Quite possibly one of the best breakfast spots in town. Fantastic fresh dinner with the whole family. We had a variety of tacos: fish, shrimp, steak and Calafia (pork) they were all delicious, fresh, well filled and the salsa fantastic. We shared a good guacamole with chips and the kids chicken tenders with tatter-tots was amazing and made the little ones very happy. Dining area looks like a walk in diner. Service is good. Food is meh, especially for the price, including the pulled pork sandwich (dry), chilaquiles and fish tacos (no flavor). Garlic fries had a teaspoon of chopped garlic drizzled on. Salmon sandwich needed more aioli (dry) and was plated messily with streaks of oil across the plate like they dropped salmon on it and then put it back on the sandwich. Aioli was good though. Needless to say, won't be venturing there again. Also, pricewise, $4.50 additional for half red and half green salsa on chilaquiles. Waitress asked if I wanted meat on my chilaquiles; she recommended steak. When I got the bill, the steak was +$21.99, so my meal of chilaquiles was $45. Not sure how the restaurant is 4.5 stars, especially with a toaster area in the dining area where I watched the staff make the avocado toast for another patron. What a bummer. read more

I took my friend here for an early birthday lunch and the weather was so nice so we sat outside! The area it's in seems pretty quiet and our server Paula was amazing! Her service was perfect and she gave so many good recommendations. I got French toast, scrambled eggs & veggies + we shared garlic fries for an appetizer and I wish I had room for dessert because everything was so yummy I can only imagine the dessert! We were greeted and seated immediately. Not a huge restaurant yet the large amount of seating with plenty of space between is comforting. Romeo was our server. We ordered the Calafia Benedict with verde salsa, country potatoes, and 2 sides of sourdough toast (as we were splitting this ahead of our Mt. Diablo hike). It was delicious, light and clean. Happy with all the veggies in it. And the chorizo and hot link were not greasy yet brought together the south with our southern neighbors. Came here with Hubs for a late breakfast a few weeks ago as he couldn't stop raving about it. The restaurant was almost full and snagged a table by the window. Upon looking at the menu, many items they make in house, I instantly knew what I wanted. Chilaquilas. The last time I had it good was in Cabo. Other places I've tried was always lacking something. This place was not. It was fire . I went with the green sauce, supposively LESS spicy. I was sucking back on my teeth bc it did have a lot of heat. I still finished it despite the burn bc it was THAT good. Hubs agreed. The special coffee with cinnamon and raw sugar, kept hot in the clay/ ceramic mug was tasty too. I was surprised how it didn't need any cream or added sweetner. The play was very clean, and floors swept after each customer, even the restrooms. Will try other things this weekend, bringing the whole fam. read more

Just moved to the area. Upon arrival the patio was full. Inside there were a few guest enjoying their meal. The ambiance was nice. Two tvs with games on. Nice bar with drinks well presented. We were greeted at entrance and immediately seated. They offered regular coffee and café de ollo. The café was amazingly delicious with the cinnamon taste. We ordered chilaquiles with carnival, strawberry/ banana French toast with country potatoes, tres leches pancakes and kids chicken tenders with fries. Everything was so good. The portions were sizable. The chilaquiles with two over easy eggs and avocados was exceptional. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Great place to come. It was hopping! Lots of people and it was a fun atmosphere. Our server was super attentive and the salad came quickly before the food. We split a garden salad. It has lots of pecans. They also split it on two plates for us. Nice! Blackened salmon unfortunately came out not blackened. Somehow a mix up. It was good, just missing the spices. The mashed potatoes were not creamy and seemed dry, but the green beans were excellent. Juliet's favorite bacon burger was huge! It had a lot of bacon on it and yummy. The burger could have been seasoned with salt or other seasoning. It was a bit bland. The garlic fries were the best! They weren't too crunchy or too soft. Perfect. The taste was so good. The carnitas taco and fish taco might be better but unfortunately came out cold. Overall the stuff on it was a great mix. The chipotle sauce was not too spicy and really added to the flavor. The double tortillas allowed me to catch all the fillings and gave me an extra taco! Overall we enjoyed it. Just a few suggestions to improve a great place to stop by for dinner. I came by after a late flight to town from work travel. I was craving some tacos and a refreshing drink. I saw on their website they had a Monday special for 3 tacos with a drink for $15. To my surprise, they said they did not have any specials so I just paid for the three taco plate and lemonade drink. It is a bit pricy for just three tacos without any sides like beans and rice or chips. The three tacos I got were steak, carnitas, and calafia. The best one was carnitas as it had the most flavor, second calafia, and last steak which had little to no flavor. The salsa was good and had a little spice which I liked. I also enjoyed the strawberry lemonade but was not happy about paying for refills. Presentation and proportions were on par and I would visit again when I am in the area to try some other items on the menu. Needed a good breakfast spot between Oakland and Stockton for my mom's birthday. This was perfect. I arrived 10 minutes before our reservation, and they seated me no problem and brought me a coffee right away! As everyone else arrived, they checked in several times for coffee orders. Service was great, the food was amazing, and the location is really easy to get to. We sat near a window, which was nice and warm, but had roll-down shades to mute the sun. Food is mediocre. Service is mediocre. It's hot as heck In there. I would have had a better time at Ihop for half the cost. First impressions are important. I don't understand why it's so crowded. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. Bacon was barely cooked, hash browns were soggy filled with grease. I thought for the price I would have had a five star review. I gave two stars just to be nice as I own my own business and know how it could effect them, however if someone would have asked how our food was or asked if we wanted refills it would have helped. I had to flag down the server multiple times. Maybe I was judged and they thought I wasn't going to spend money. I am not sure. I still gave a good tip even though I didn't want to . I've been wanting to try this place for a while now with all the raves and I finally came for lunch with my cousin on a Thursday, 10/16/25. There was no wait and we got a kind gentleman server. He was great. I got the Philly cheesesteak with garlic fries and my cousin got the Calafia eggs Benedict. The garlic fries were really good, I finished it all. I took one bite of the cheesesteak and I was so disappointed! It was so bland and had no flavor. The bread was stale. The meat was thicker than I liked. Usually Philly cheesesteak has really thinly sliced beef. It barely had any grilled onions. And the cheese was not even a melty cheese, they used Swiss. Usually it's with provolone, American, or cheese whiz. It was just dry and nothing about it screamed cheesesteak, it was the worst "cheesesteak" I've had. I couldn't get past just one bite. Also, my cousin said her hollandaise sauce was bland too. Her dish was just mediocre. With so many other places to try, I'm not sure if I'll come back. If I do, I'll try something else, but def no more cheesesteak for me. read more

After reading all the good reviews on yelp, I thought I would give this place a try. A little disappointed I found the eggs Benedict to be a bit flavorless. Also, if you want milk for your coffee instead of half-and-half, they will charge you for an entire glass of milk. To be fair, he let me know ahead of time. Lovely spot in Livermore. I think the burger I had was yummy but maybe a little more than I bargained for. I did ask which burger had avocado on it, and the server recommended the Calafia Burger. If I read the menu I might have tried a smaller burger and added avocado. I had to remove one of patties and the bacon to bite into it. Everything was cooked to order, and I did ask for it to be medium, so it had a lot of pink, but it was delicious. Now the 4 onion rings were very large! Again, too large to eat without cutting with a knife and fork but those were also tasty. Personal preference is to have bite size food, but I eat way too fast, so large food is good way to slow me down lol. The only thing I might say is the flower garnish was a lovely touch, but I felt super guilty. Like it was just a lunch burger and that flower had to die lol. The service was great though. Side note...I somehow forgot my credit card and went back later and they had it in the register locked up. Phew! They also asked for my id before giving it to me. Thankful for that. read more

My friends and I enjoyed an amazing breakfast on Saturday at Calafia Kitchen in Livermore. The restaurant was cute inside but we chose to be seated on the patio in front. The menu was very appealing. Everything from Huevos rancheros to Chilaquiles with red or green sauce. They also had crapes, waffles and pancakes. Really something for everyone. The service was excellent. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I was so impressed with the menu and the service. I would recommend them to anyone. They are a treasure right here in Livermore. read more

Stopped by here for lunch and it was great! We ordered 2 Calafia Burgers with cajun fries and garlic fries and it was super delicious! Definitely get the garlic fries, they put a good amount of garlic and it tasted great with the burger. I was pretty hungry and tired because I ran a half marathon that morning so I had an appetite! They were very generous with the portions with their double patties. I only had room to eat half and I took the rest to go. We were seated right away and the service was nice and friendly. The area was clean and the ambiance was causal nice. Saw a lot of tables with families and people watching sporting games on the screens. Was very excited about extra crispy hash browns and all the rave reviews that I drove across town and was willing to pay $23+tip for a very basic breakfast burrito with bacon (and I think it was supposed to have cheese but it wasn't evident?). I asked for 1 extra salsa and was charged another $1 for a tablespoon of salsa that wasn't even special/worth the extra cost. They included what I think was a little thing of crema but it was curdled and inedible. The burrito barely had any eggs or bacon (it was essentially dry potatoes in a tortilla wrap). The "extra crispy" hash browns were soggy and swimming in a pile of grease in the container. Had stomach issues after. Very disappointing experience and meal for the price. Califia is probably one of our favorite places for a great meal and excellent service. We recently celebrated our anniversary and enjoyed a delicious dinner. My wife had chicken milano (yum) and I had the pecan crusted salmon (yummy). The meal was delicious as always, and the presentation was beautiful. We capped off our meal with a churro desert with ice cream and caramel dipping sauce.
