A very cool cafe with amazing vibe with interesting quick breakfast options. Staff is very welcoming. I was excited to see flavors in croissants. everything croissants, has seasoning of everything bagel and some cream cheese inside. I loved the combo. Ham and cheese croissants was so yummy that my daughter finches it in a minute. Almond croissant was on sweeter side and outer layer is crunch and not heavily filled which we loved. I ordered the seasonal cherry latte to go. When I got back to the office, I found out I was given a matcha latte. I tried calling them but the number listed is disconnected. I don't have a way to notify them of their mistake. Edit: They just called me and explained that the drink is actually a cherry matcha. He also refunded my drink, which is awesome. My goto coffee spot in Livermore but it can take some time to get your order. Usually I either get a latte or iced sweet latte. Starting to buy my beans there too for day to day. A bit loud inside. ok - was in the area again dropping my girly pop off at doggy camp and so i had to stop in again to grab my energy before errands and work. Parking lot was already full to my surprise as I didn't expect this place to be poppin at 8:30-9am but pretty steady flow. Ooh and there was this hottie cop on there today and I hope he sees this lol!! Ok so reason for my updated review is to say that getting here early, you get a wider variety of pastries. And the waffle y'all! They made it fresh to order and it is goooodt and warm and yummy and perfect with a cold brew. Nice handheld lap snack while driving to my next destination. This review is very late but I enjoyed my visit to story coffee. It was out of the way for me but I kept hearing good things so I decided to do the 30 min drive. When I was ordering their machine stopped working and they could not get it back up. Of course I waited patiently and they were so kind to comp my coffee for me. Customer service was great and they recommended a pastry that I really enjoyed. Will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area. read more

I've heard so much about Story Coffee and was finally able to check it out for myself. I dropped off my truck at Les Schwab in Livermore for a tire rotation and they told me they needed two and half hours. Okay, no worries. I decided I'll go to the movies to "The Bride". I walked one and a half miles to downtown Livermore in flip flops and still had 45 minutes before the movie started. I remembered Story Coffee is nearby so I walked over to the coffee shop and boy was I in for a treat. The vibe is off the hook and they have waffles just like being in Europe again. I paired my waffle with a cappuccino and both were amazing! What a great day it was to give my truck some TLC, get some steps in, have a great cup of cappuccino and waffle, and a watch a great movie. read more

This is a great local spot with a better atmosphere and overall quality than many big-name chains. The interior is clean and modern, and the drink menu has plenty of options to satisfy just about any craving. They also offer food, which is a nice bonus. Parking is the only real downside. Came here over the weekend with family and this has been my second visit to their storefront, i learned about them when they were at the farmers market. The service is really good. Both times I've visited, I've ordered the whiskey latte and was underwhelmed, it really didn't taste like anything. Their pastries are really good though. Easy coffee shop to get to in downtown Livermore. Overall, pretty small and a just a couple seats available, but if you're looking for a little more upscale coffee, this place will do. Personally, I don't tend to get matcha in places that don't specialize in it, but it was not too bad. Plus they do some nice latte art too. read more

Great place! Cute cups! Friendly workers! The matcha is super green - we tried the original and lavender. I wish this place was closer because I'd love to try all of the flavors. I had previously tried the sweet latte before, but hope to try the whiskey latte as well. Since that is a unique flavor they make in house last time we got to almond croissants, which were very fresh and tasty as well. I was hoping to have options of the pastries and it was only 3pm and when I got here. They only have two options, I pick the waffle it was okay not fresh. Maybe they just reheat it. I tried their lavender latte, small hint of lavender. It was good. I love the cups to dine in. The service was good, two ladies are friendly and help me a lot with my order. I've been to story coffee a few times. This place never disappoints. Parking can be hard to come by. Their staff is great and always very kind and helpful. Their menu is decent. I usually get an iced mocha and it's great. Interior is nice. Everything is reasonably priced. I'll be back! Parking can be a little competitive. read more

A solid mocha and decent pastries! I came here early morning before running some errands and ordered a couple of their pastries to try along with my mocha. The apple pie was pretty solid, along with the kouign amann, but I found the liege waffle to be just alright. It's a bit out of the way for me so I wouldn't say I'd come back, but it's a decent place to have a morning coffee if you're in the area. read more

My first time there I liked the place and thought the whiskey latte was good, if a bit weak in terms of coffee flavor. The second time I was there I got an iced latte and was very disappointed. The coffee was very weak and it was barely coffee-flavored milk. I would not order it again and will go elsewhere for latte. read more

Tried their Whiskey Latte and it was definitely an interesting drink, non-alcoholic but still had a unique flavor. Not sure if it's interesting enough for me to order again though. I always come here every time I drive from the Bay Area back to SoCal and I always look forward to it. I usually pick up a latte, pastry, and a bag of coffee beans which are always freshly roasted within the past week. I recently got the whiskey latte, and I actually really enjoyed it because the subtle taste of the bourbon compliments and doesn't overpower the coffee. Coffee is usually my beverage of choice (and Story does a great job of it) but lately I've really digging Story's matcha! It's so delicious, smooth and rich. They have great seasonal options - the Derby cold brew is my personal fav when they have it during springtime! The waffles are DELICIOUS too and pair so wonderfully with their coffee but be prepared to wait if you order one as they make them in-house. Very cute coffee place. I liked the seasonal menu options and got one with mint and bourbon in it. The gentleman at the register was great and figured out a way to make the drink caffeine free for me since it's originally made with cold brew. However I am very annoyed with businesses that don't accept cash. I understand it may be "easier" as a business, but it's our official currency! And I prefer to pay for smaller purchases, like a $6 coffee with cash. Anyways, got my drink and I feel like it needed more flavor. I could barely taste any mint in it and none of the bourbon. read more

Came here on a Sunday morning a little after opening. There were plenty of seats to choose from, and my latte came out nicely. The staff are very nice. I like that there's work space to sit and study. As the morning went on it did become a little more crowded, but that speaks to the great coffee they serve. this coffee shop took me by surprise! while the menu seems limited, i promise you, the quality of their items is 100% there. if you get anything at all, let it be the waffle. i was skeptical at first, but the reviews are right. it really is out of this world. it's served fresh, hotter than a hot cake, with the perfect level of sweetness and a mochi-like softness that's chewy and oh-so-satisfyingly delicious. as a snack, it filled both my belly and my heart. i also appreciated that alternative milk (almond or oat) was available for their drinks. they had an earl grey latte that was on their seasonal menu, and it was phenomenal. sometimes you need to give an extra shout-out when bathrooms are surprisingly well maintained, and this is one of those times. i was so pleased with the cleanliness and aesthetic. this is the most perfectly charming coffee shop. if only it had more seating and a larger space in general -- it would be the perfect place to come and get some work or reading done every day! read more

An unexpected Christmas Eve discovery, Story Coffee saved the day when my usual place was closed. The seasonal drinks were an absolute treat--meticulously crafted and bursting with flavor. What truly stood out was the precision and focus; 4 baristas were dedicated to a single cup, using tiny glass measuring cups like mad scientists conducting experiments. The coordination among the team of about 4 individuals on each drink was mesmerizing, resembling a well-oiled assembly machine. This attention to detail and seamless teamwork resulted in a flawless and efficient coffee experience. Moreover, the warm and cozy ambiance welcomed lingering moments. Only a minor setback was that the eggnog cappuccino seemed more like a latte, possibly due to the eggnog not foaming as expected. Even when Story Coffee is absolutely busting at the seams, the team handles it like pros. Seriously the best coffee ever!!! And the owners are awesome!! I highly recommend any of their hand crafted drinks, but my favorites are a Mocha when you're craving chocolate, a latte anytime and a whiskey latte when you want a little more fun in your cup. Visiting Story Coffee on Fridays at the Bankhead Theater is now a must for me and something I look forward to all week. I absolutely love the charming ambiance of this coffee shop. Their coffee, especially the iced latte, is perfectly balanced--not overly bitter or overly sweet. When I'm in the mood for a sweeter drink, I can easily add a touch of sugar myself. The baristas are always welcoming and happy to refill my water bottle whenever I ask. The only downside is the lack of outlets for charging my laptop, which would make the experience even better. read more

Excellent food, coffee, and service! I'm sad to see the Story Works location go, but am glad that there is a lovely new brunch location! My only gripe is that the food is a bit pricy given the portion size.
