The espresso was just okay in my cortado. My lady tried the Juliet and felt the same and didn't really enjoy it at all. The service was there but not I felt like the lady really didn't care about helping me. The place is really big, lots of tables inside and outside. I enjoy supporting baristas and regularly tip 20% or more when service is great. My concern isn't tippingit's the payment process. During my visit, the Toast POS system appeared to have a 15% tip already selected, and it was added to my transaction. When customers are in a hurry, it's easy to approve a payment without noticing a preset tip. Tipping should be a deliberate choice, not a default setting. I was also surprised that Rosetta Roasting does not accept cash. While businesses can choose their payment methods, I believe customers should still have the option to pay with legal U.S. currency. My daughter and I visited Rosetta for the first time this morning. Cute little cottage style coffee house. Ample seating inside and outside, with a back room for dining in as well. Staff was helpful in answering our questions. My daughter ordered the Apple cider soda and I order the Meesha. I swapped out the milk for pistachio milk. My daughter really liked her drink and mine was good! Fun flavor fusion and it had a fall vibe to it. I think next time I'll add an extra espresso shot as I like mine more "coffee" tasting vs "milk" tasting. Overall we enjoyed our visit and saw more we'd like to try so I'm sure we'll be back! read more

This coffee shop in Downtown Livermore is a whole vibe. I stopped by while visiting family in Dublin, and, going forward, it will be my go-to coffee shop whenever I'm in the area. Farmers and local food artisans from the region were actually setting up for Downtown Livermore's Sunday Farmers Market right outside the coffee shop when I visited on a recent Sunday morning. While I arrived too early to support their local businesses on this particular visit, I've been in the past, and it's a lively and festive (year-round) event! Inside the coffee shop, they have an enviable layout, whereby people can choose their own adventure and pick from multiple seating configurations that all have different functionalities and feels. Y'all, the line here on a weekend morning is wild, be prepared! The line wrapped inside, and I saw at least two people walk up to the door, saw the line, and just left without even trying. I was meeting a friend and saved a table while she went to order, and it still took at least 30 minutes. Insane. So definitely be ready to wait. The pastries were good, and the coffee was solid. Great eclectic look to this place inside - way different from your average SBux - only complaint here - the cost !! Americano 16oz $6 ! I don't usually leave reviews, but this one felt necessary. My little family drives all the way from Manteca to come here because we've always loved this place. It's become a monthly tradition for us. The atmosphere, great coffee, and Royale cookies have always made the drive worth it. Unfortunately, today's visit was a huge disappointment, and we've decided we won't be returning. Today we were helped by a tall, red-haired employee. We ordered a Mercy, and I was under the impression that it was a latte, not a white mocha. When I mentioned that, the level of arrogance and irritation in her response was completely unnecessary. Instead of simply explaining the drink, she corrected me in a way that felt incredibly condescending. Why should a customer asking a question be an annoyance? Educate your customers--don't make them feel foolish. It's coffee, not open-heart surgery. While we were waiting for our drinks, I turned to my husband and daughter and asked, "Was it just me, or was she kind of rude?" Without missing a beat, they both said, "We were just about to say the same thing." My husband even said, "She made you seem stupid for thinking it was a latte." That right there told me it wasn't just in my head. Then she asked what size I wanted. I said, "Medium." She immediately pointed to the to-go cup sizes. I thought that was odd because we're always asked whether our order is for here or to go. Normally I would have asked if we could have our drinks served in mugs, but after the attitude I received over simply ordering a drink, I honestly didn't feel like dealing with any more snippiness. When our drinks arrived, they were enormous. There was absolutely no way I was going to finish that much coffee. As we sat down, I looked around the café and realized something interesting--not a single customer who was sitting inside had a mug. Every single person drinking in-house had a to-go cup. I turned to my husband and said, "Isn't it weird she never asked if we wanted our drinks for here or to go?" He looked around, laughed, and said, "You know why." At that point, we both came to the same conclusion. Whether it's true or not, it certainly came across as if serving everything in disposable cups was easier than washing dishes. Maybe there's another explanation, but when every in-house customer has a to-go cup and no one is even asked, it's hard not to wonder. She also never asked if we wanted our Royale cookies warmed up, which has always been part of what made coming here special. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised she even warmed my daughter's breakfast sandwich. Halfway through our visit, my husband looked at me and said, "Well... I guess this is our last trip here." Sadly, I had to agree. We understand this place gets busy, and we've happily driven all the way from Manteca month after month because we loved the coffee, the atmosphere, and the overall experience. But today's visit completely changed that. I've had coffee that's less bitter than the customer service we received today. One unpleasant interaction can undo years of loyal business. If customer service isn't your thing, or you're having a bad day, maybe the register isn't the best place to be. It costs exactly $0 to be kind... and surprisingly, asking, "For here or to go?" is still free too. read more

When I discovered this place through Yelp I honestly didn't expect what we were walking into. We happened to be in the area and I wanted a cup of 'after dinner cwoffee' and Rosetta happened to be less than 2 miles from where we'd had dinner. No, I didn't read the prior reviews. No, I didnt even go to their website to see what bevs they offered - I was just desperate for some coffee! Lol. Great news was we didn't have any trouble finding parking on a busy Saturday night downtown. More great news - Rosetta was a short walk from the main street. My first impression was that it was intimate. I was surprised to be greeted by someone who'd seated us at a table rather than greeting us from the bar. I did love the warm, romantic setting waiting for us at our table and their selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Dessert was on the menu as well with beignets and a whiskey infused sauce on the side. A sneaky way to be a little naughty even if you decide on a non-alcoholic drink. All in all I really liked this place. It's perfect for an after dinner date and a great location for a stroll downtown on a romantic evening. read more

I've been here quite a few times to get work done and it's my favorite place! There are a few outlets but they're usually hard to nab. They've remodeled the interior now so it's gorgeous. It used to be this vibrant cyan that kind of made the whole interior very uncanny/backroom feeling, but now the vibes are so cozy. They occasionally pass out a punch card for returning customers, so that's nice! Their drinks are decent, albeit on the pricier side and they have lots of options. read more

I tried the tiramisu and I had to let it sit for a bit because it was a bit too chilled but I like the way they garnished it with cream and few toasted coffee beans. What a great find in downtown Livermore! It was such a treat to stumbled upon this cozy corner oasis midday during the week. Several well shaded tables outside and welcoming boots and tables in the back. The entrance had a well presented chalkboard menu featured on an entire wall, surrounded by an eclectic mix of kick nacks for purchase. Pastries were of course available. I tried the Espresso Soda which was a refreshing treat on a warm summer day. I have to admit, I've never been here during the day for the coffee. But I went with my buddies during the evening to the speakeasy, and wow! Talk about a really cool ambiance. It's tiki style, which honestly is super fun (especially with the bird noises!). The service was good, I have no complaints at all. My drink (can't remember the name, but it was coconut 'loco' ) was REALLY good. The drinks range from $16-$22 from what I saw, so somewhere from the median to the upper scale pricing. One of my buddies got the old fashion soda, which he liked, and another got the monkey drink. We didn't get to order any substantial food this round, but I'll be coming for the rum cake and spam misubi! Overall I'd 100% come back here, and highly recommend it for an escape out of your typical downtown livermore cocktail bar. Great job Rosetta! Keep the themes coming!! read more

Story time. I used to live in Livermore, a couple blocks from Rosetta. I enjoy my morning coffee and depend on it. I've had some bad coffee and been to some bad coffee shops in my life but this place takes the podium finish for the worst. Here's why: my wife and I recently visited Livermore after having been gone for several years. Visiting afforded us enough time for a date so we went out to Range Life (decent food, atmosphere, and interesting cocktails--maybe I'll post a review another time) and the Wingen bakery (would recommend, great people) who indicated we could get a late night coffee at Rosetta. It's been a while so we walk over for another try. Looks like the back half of it is a bar at night, cool I guess. Pay rent 24/7, may as well figure a way to recoup some revenue for outside peak espresso hours. We sit and take in the place while we wait for our order. This is where things went awry. All the costumed staff was quite concerned with the patrons of the bar and we waited approximately 35 minutes for two hot coffees. When the coffee did finally come, it was luke warm and disappointed scratches only the surface of the feelings I had. I was instantly reminded of the many disappointments I had living nearby and watching the coffee shop be ruined by their intense dedication to image over product. My complaint is why have a coffee shop that specializes in mediocrity? And mediocrity is putting it very gently. If the goal was to set forth a specific image, that can be done any number of ways. Virtually every time I've visited the experience has been poor, followed by a poor product. Needless to say, I will never be back and I caution anyone who wishes to visit not to be enchanted with the atmosphere and whimsical story of their "origins". read more

This was an amazing surprise. My wife, infant son and I were in town for a few days for a work training I had to complete. One of the evenings my wife told me that she wanted to try a coffee shop which I reluctantly took her to. When I saw the sign that said "nightcaps" I was immediately interested. We were seated by an amazingly friendly host who explained to us that in the day time it is a coffee shop but at night they have drinks as well as coffee. They also have theme nights. We happened to go on New Orleans night. I ordered an old fashioned and my wife got her coffee. We also ordered the bread pudding with a whiskey glaze and a passion fruit cheesecake. Everything was amazing. My only regret is that we are a 2 hour drive away. I highly recommend this place. They also have amazing customer service. They roast beans onsite with what looked like a vending machine sized roaster, and the ventilation just can't keep up. Very disappointed with my recent experience. I arrived around 10pm, an hour before closing, and was told they were full despite there being open tables in the front and only two of us. They took my number and said the wait would be 15-20 minutes, but I never received a call back. What made this more frustrating is that I'm a regular and have visited during genuinely busy times without issue. This was the first time I've experienced something like this here, and it was disappointing. I love the coffee here. Drinks are well made and taste wonderful. However, I do not see any prices posted for coffee drinks. The last time I went in, I ordered a 20 oz iced latte with oat milk and 2 pumps of syrup. Including tax and tip (20%), the cost was $14 and some change. For an iced latte. I ordered the small because I like strong coffee but may next time I'll get a larger one with an extra shot. Ordered the orange flavored muffin too and a butter croissant. Both were great. Not sure if it's baked in house but it seemed fresh and moist. I love the decor, eclectic with greenery. Seating in front but pleasantly surprised by the seating towards the back.
