Been pretty disappointed with the last handful of visits to Juice & Java. We've loved coming here since we moved to Pleasanton 4 years ago but have noticed more frequently they'll just be out of smoothie ingredients here and there and sometimes just ALL ingredients altogether. This has happened 3-4 time in the last 6 months. Random zero operation days that they'll just be closed during advertised hours of operation. Staff used to be much friendlier; most recently we get the inattentive worker with AirPods in that barely acknowledge us. Our latest visit we came around lunchtime with plans to enjoy a refreshing smoothie at Delucci Park. The smoothie was very watered down and almost tasteless... I walked back from the park to see if they would remake it and the door was locked with nobody inside. Something has definitely changed about this place in the last year or so, and unfortunately, not for the better. read more

Oh man - this was hands down the best smoothie I've ever had. I stumbled in here after the farmers market because it was HOT. It's a small shop but it didn't feel crowded while I waited for my order. I got the dragonfly smoothie which is a tropical drink. My kids got the love bird (strawberry banana) and my husband got a peach smoothie. If you like your smoothies well balanced, not too thick yet not too liquidy, this is the place for you! The staff was nice. I can't wait to try their açaí bowls. read more

I love the sandwiches and smoothies here. The cashiers were friendly, but a bit inexperienced with the menu. I feel cozy having my sandwiches and smoothies in here even this is a small store. I come here once in a while when I am in the neighborhood. Usually after the shopping at Saturday's farmers market outside the store. :) read more

Second time I've tried calling in 1 week and the phone number is disconnected. I mentioned it to the employee last week and she said everything is falling apart. The Internet and the phone lines work when they want to and the refrigerator even caught fire. I just ordered an acai bowl via doordash and it was complete water with no strawberries. My family and I have enjoyed the food and drinks at Juice and Java for many years, but we can no longer support this business due to the consistently poor customer service. We've experienced repeated incidents of rude and unprovoked behavior from the staff, creating an uncomfortable and hostile atmosphere. It's incredibly disappointing to be treated with such disregard, especially after being loyal customers for so long. No one deserves to be insulted or spoken to with such disrespect. Lately every time I come into this place, I regret it. Something is always broken - like the juice machines - or out of stock -acai bowls with no spoons. It is disorganized and chaotic and painfully slow. Feels like a store left to itself. Such a shame. I started writing Yelp Reviews after a few years in food service. I had gotten frustrated with the overrepresentation of negative views on Yelp. Most people only recognize service when it goes wrong and fail to realize the brilliant work that most food service workers do. This morning (5/19/2025, 10am) I went to Juice and Java to fill my time before a meeting. There was a single employee running the shop, their coworker was running late and there was no manager present. I could tell that this delightful person, I failed to get their name, was stressed to be managing several customers at once with very little support. They did a beautiful job communicating the situation with customers and keeping their cool in an overwhelming circumstance. This employee deserves a raise, better support from their management, and admiration for their talents. This is why I write reviews. Hard work in difficult circumstances, even when it leads to mistakes or increased wait-time, should be celebrated and sympathized-with. It should not be criticized by a one-star review. Please, if you have a sub-optimal experience at a restaurant, before writing a bad review or lash out at an employee, ask yourself if that reaction is deserved. Be kind! My açaí bowl was very tasty, the service was sweet, and this is a cute little juice shop. I recommend sitting outside since the blenders are a little loud. read more

This location is adorably cute and so convenient to the Pleasanton Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Such a diverse selection of juices and smoothies as well as popular acai bowls. Three staff member were busily working in the central open kitchen on Saturday morning amidst the bustling Farmer's Market. We ordered the Purple Poodle Smoothie which had acai berry, blueberry, banana and agave. It was decadently thick and pure berry deliciousness in a cup! This is why so many other customers rave about their acai bowls! We also had a double cafe latte and the staff was so attentive the barista remembered to ask separately what type of milk I wanted in my coffee! Surprisingly, the smoothie rolled out quite quickly but we had a bit of a wait for the latte. All good in the end and quite happy with our drinks! read more

Great juices, smoothies, and food. Staff is always so accommodating. All the smoothies can be made into bowls too! Their tuna & chicken salad is made in house and the owner knows what she's doing. They're SO good. My favorite is the veggie sandwich, it takes a couple extra minutes to make since it's hot, but it's worth the wait. Cute earthy vibe. There are a couple small patio-type tables and chairs, a sofa corner, fun signs to look at. The chalkboard menus showed a variety of natural drinks and a handful of healthy food options, but you have to look around because there are several boards. Since they specialize in juice drinks, the sound of the blender is cray cray LOUD in the small cafe that they must not have heard our order. We ordered 2 drinks and basically received 2 similar drinks that were of the wrong sizes. They were tasty, but it would've been nice to get what we ordered. I would return when I'm in the area. So I thought I found my new juice place. Such a cute little place too. Not many choices in juice. But I found one I liked. The young girl was nice enough. And they had a selection of sandwiches that looked delicious. I did get a tummy ache after consuming the juice. And I always get a fresh pressed juice on an empty stomach. To get all the benefits of all those natural nutrients. I am not sure what it was but. Definitely thought I was going to sick. The area where the food is prepared is in extreme disarray. Delicious açaí bowl for a reasonable price! My bowl was perfectly blended and layered with coconut and granola. I like how they put granola on both the bottom and top so the bottom absorbs all the melted açaí. The large was enough to fill me for lunch. There are a few tables inside, and the farmers market is right outside on the weekends. There's a parking lot behind the cafe, so it's easy to park. read more

When Visiting the Saturday farmers market in downtown Pleasanton, I like stopping here for a caffeine refresher. There's a great selection of espresso, coffee, and tea drinks. They also have a pretty solid list of smoothies and fruit bowls. There's a few tables outside and inside. I suggest outside and enjoy the sun and people watching! Street parking right outside, or lots nearby. I've never had an issue finding parking. They are pet friendly and usually have a fresh bowl of water outside. These girls running the joint were so rude to every customer that kept walking in. It is okay to say you are going to take a while AFTER you take an order not as soon as a customer walks in. First impression is so important for good customer service delivery. Not to mention the snobby obnoxious look and tone was actually annoying. If you're going to give attitude at least make sure my açaí bowl is thick enough and not a cup of açaí water. For the price, I will not be coming back for an attitude filled açaí bowl. read more

I've been to Juice & Java Express about 15 times now, and it's become a go-to spot for me when I'm looking for a healthy boost. Yes, the juices are pricey--$9.25 (regular size) to $11.25 (larger size) --but in my opinion, they're worth it. If they weren't, I wouldn't keep coming back! While my kids prefer the smoothies (which do have a great taste), I usually opt for one of their blended juices, like the Green Machine or Beet-Me-Up. What I really appreciate is how fresh and real everything feels. When they blend the juice in the back, you can see and smell them using actual beets, carrots, apples, oranges, celery, and other fresh and real ingredients. Maybe it's all in my head, but I feel better and more energized for the rest of the day after drinking one of their healthy juices. If you're looking for a place that's serious about fresh, quality ingredients, then this is a good place to check out. read more
