Great Argentinean restaurant situated in downtown Pleasanton. We came in for dinner as a party of 5 and were able to get seats without needing to wait at 5:30pm on a Sunday night. We were seated in the very cute outdoor patio, there was plenty of shade so even though it was pretty warm out we were pretty comfortable. We shared the BBQ platter which was perfect for 3 meat eaters and my partner had the vegetarian mushroom pasta. The platter was great, the beef especially was perfectly medium rare and was tender thru every bite. The roasted vegetables included in the platter included Brussel sprouts and cauliflower which were also beautifully caramelized. My partner enjoyed her mushroom pasta, the ridges on the pasta absorbed every bit of the delicious white sauce. Happy to come back, I think the patio space makes it perfect for families of all ages. Easily snagged a reservation for the outdoor patio on a Friday at 6pm. Not too crowded when we sat down, but it filled up by 6:30-7. The patio's a nice space, half-covered with fans, so it'll be great through summer. Service was attentive and fast, almost too fast. We ordered 2-3 apps and two entrees, and everything landed at once within 10-15 minutes. No real gap between courses, which meant no chance to actually finish the apps before the entrees showed up. But everything came out lukewarm, which was the main issue. The Brussels sprouts, meatball, and empanadas were all fairly tasty, but the meatball and empanada were room temp, which dulled the flavor. Same story with the entrees, chicken Milanesa and Lomo Saltado, both lukewarm. The Milanesa was thin, easy to eat, and the sauce worked well with it. The fries tasted frozen, not hand-cut, and on the Lomo Saltado the sauce made them soggy fast. Sauce itself ran a bit too salty. Steak in the Lomo Saltado was tender though, and generous on portion. Good space, good service energy, but the food execution needs work. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to return to unless they fix the food temperature and the fries. read more

We recently came here for a work lunch and were very impressed by the service and food. They are located in downtown Pleasanton. The place is pretty small, but then you walk to the back and there's a large covered patio, and a small uncovered patio. It's very charming with various plants giving the outdoors a garden vibe. Most of the team was late by about 30 minutes for our reservation due to a prior meeting running long. The host was gracious enough to hold our reservation until everyone arrived. We started with some appetizers of Crispy Cauliflower, Habanero Fries, and Empanada Trio. They were all very yummy and were served with various dipping sauces. The empanadas had a nice crispy pastry and flavorful filling. I had the Salmon eggs benedict and really enjoyed it. The salmon was smokey, but the eggs could have been just a tad runnier. We ordered their Brusselsprouts and short rib sandwich to share and the proportions were perfect, just enough food and we didn't leave a morsel behind. We came here for our company holiday dinner, and it was a nice, cozy spot that I would recommend (at least for weekdays). When I got seated, the interior reminded me of a kitchen (I wasn't the only one thought this... I heard another party say it too!): the dining table and chairs looked like it belong in a home kitchen, and they had decorations and shelves on the walls that really resembled that of a home more than a restaurant. On the dining table itself, they placed a cute little lamp. Honestly, such a warm and welcoming space to be in. Since we were with a semi large group of 7, we had the opportunity to share many appetizers: bruschetta, Brussels sprouts, shrimp, barrata.... And possibly one more. Given that this is an Italian restaurant, it was a little on the heavy/creamy/cheesy/buttery side (can be a pro or a con, depending on your personal preference). I thought the bruschetta was the best because it's a very satisfying and thick bite. I ordered the steak for my entree: the steak itself was good, nothing too spectacular or crazy. Medium rare indeed was medium rare... so kudos to that! It laid on top of a bed of spinach/onion/mashed potato(?), which I thought was again, nothing spectacular. Not much flavor with the spinach, so I actually opted out of eating it. Everyone else in my party loved their entrees. I also wanted to give kudos to the waitstaff: all were extremely nice, especially our waitress. She was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. When making the reservation, I specifically noted that this was a birthday celebration and selected covered outdoor patio seating through the reservation system. When we arrived on time, we were told there were no tables available in the area your reservation platform had offered us. To make matters worse, after a staff member asked us which available table we preferred, we pointed one out, only for another waiter to immediately give that exact table away to a smaller party while we stood there as a party of six. That set the tone for the evening. Service throughout the night lacked professionalism and hospitality. One male waiter, approximately in his 40s with slicked-back hair, was consistently rude, dismissive, sharp in tone, and visibly uninterested in helping our table. His behavior affected our entire party and made us feel unwelcome. Management should seriously address his service etiquette and overall conduct toward guests. The most disappointing part was the complete lack of acknowledgment of my wife's birthday. Throughout dinner, we watched several other tables celebrating birthdays receive desserts and recognition from staff, while our table received absolutely nothing despite the restaurant being informed ahead of time. For appetizers, we started off with the trio of empanadas, the brussels sprouts, the french fries, and the cauliflower. The brussels sprouts and cauliflower come with a sauce on top, so would just be mindful in case you're looking for a truly healthy veggie option. The empanadas were fantastic. The cheese empanada had bleu cheese inside, which gave it a little bit of unique flavoring. For my entrée, I ordered the black ink pasta, which comes with a red marinara sauce. Usually, I am not a huge fan of marinara sauce, but the entire dish was absolutely amazing. I would eat it every day if I could, it also comes with a sizable portion of seafood, including scallops, shrimp, and mussels. My husband and I love this place and have been several times. The trick here is to be choosy with what you order. We've learned to stick with their pastas and anything Argentinian: empanadas are especially delicious, and their Carbonara is my favorite. Their burger, for example, feels like a costco pattie but I'm not too surprised as it is not a burger restaurant. Service is a bit slow, but not every time- we've had some great service maybe half the time. During our last visit, we had a waitress who almost completely ignored us until we were done with our food, despite checking on the tables next to us but avoiding eye contact or a quick check in. She could also not hear us very well and there was a possible language barrier- we had to repeat our order twice. Had dinner reservations for a party of 6 and had to push the time back by 45 minutes the day before due to a work meeting. Changing the reservation online was easy and convenient. We arrived on time and was seated in the outdoor area instead of the covered patio as requested. Not a big deal, as they have heaters. We were pleasantly surprised that we could get a reservation so easily too. Our waiter, Ulysses, was incredibly kind, personable, and welcoming. Since it was our first time, he took the time to walk us through the menu and even brought out the specials menu for us, which we really appreciated. The hostess and server were very friendly- no complaints on the service. We ordered a couple of drinks which were all really good. For entrees we got the lomo saltaldo and chicken milanese. I enjoyed the lomo saltaldo as the meat was cooked well, but the dish overall was just too salty due to the salt on the fries and the oyster sauce. I really really love this spot. It's a small, hidden gem in downtown Pleasanton. A little tight and hard to find but when you get to the dining area it has such a fresh, outdoor (yet covered) patio vibe that is very romantic and quite perfect esp on a summer night. Food here is pretty tasty. We ordered the surf and turf shared platter (good for 2!!) and the mushroom pasta (delicious campanelli ) but my favorite was their Mezcalita!!! Yummy cocktails and great service, recommend for a good dinner catch up but just beware it does get a little loud (the chatter just bounces off high ceilings) read more

Pretty good option for Argentinian and Italian food. This may seem odd to some people, but there's a huge Italian influence in Argentina. I've spent about 6 months there over the last 2 years. The empanadas were great. The bruschetta was too and we enjoyed the choripan. Service was very nice, even though we didn't order a lot of food or alcohol, they all treated us very well.
