William's Breakfast Pot and oat milk lattes.
    Kelsey L.

Cute little restaurant in downtown Pleasanton. We came around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and were seated right away on the patio out front. The oat milk latte had a weird sweet aftertaste (did not order any syrups). It didn't hit the spot caffeine wise either. To eat, I ordered the William's breakfast pot. It was HUGE. Two people could definitely share this. I loved the bits of bacon and the scrambled eggs on top were pretty good. The potatoes inside tasted a little sweet and earthy, which didn't sit well with me. Definitely a pricey breakfast too for subpar food and drinks.

Came here after doing a 5K. It was small cute restaurant. We ate outside. I got the Scandinavian. I was a Smoked Salmon Benedict. It was very delicious. The eggs were perfect. I would consider coming back again for breakfast.

This place seems to be one of the local favorites. It was hustling and bustling with a constant turnover, but the staff was so relaxed and nice that you barely noticed. The food was exceptional. It was large portioned and was so delicious without being heavy feeling. I liked that they had a NA beer option because that was just perfect with the lamb. The signs in the bathroom were cute and helped give a little chuckle.

Came with friends for dinner - what a surprise; fresh baked rolls started off the evening, along with an appetizer of carpaccio, a Cesar salad & a house salad. Then came some French onion soup, with a veggie sandwich, some fries to boot. 2 orders of the beef stroganoff & the wild mushroom ravioli. The ravioli were heavenly, the beef stroganoff was delicious via the consumers & the French onion soup smelled spectacular. Service was on point, from being seated, ordering the food to the wait staff who bring out the food, all executed timely. The ambiance is homey, small restaurant. Will return as those ravioli's will be calling me soon.

A friend and I actually had plans to go somewhere else down the street but when we arrived, they were closed for an inspection. My friend spotted Nonni's and said "this spot looks cozy" so we went with her intuition and gave it a try. It was around 2 PM on a Friday and we were seated immediately. The place was small and cozy, but very welcoming and comfortable. It was clean and bright. The staff were very quick to attend to us and very friendly. Dining here was very reminiscent of how dining out used to be...no app, small but attentive wait staff, family owned/run type of vibe. We really enjoyed the food. It's the menu is all around American dining. We were served fresh baked rosemary dinner rolls with butter to start off - they were warm and chewy and delicious! We decided to split the cheeseburger with a side of French onion, soup, and the fish hot pot. We also ordered a side of fries. The food arrived quickly and was hot. The burger was really good. We ordered it medium well and I would say it came more on the well done side as there was no pink. It was served a very soft ciabatta and the mayonnaise/sauce was tasty but not overpowering. We went for a simple, traditional cheeseburger with cheddar and nothing fancy, no extras. The Fish hot pot was good, but I wasn't that excited that they used salmon as the fish of the day. I think it would've been better with a delicate whitefish, but overall it was a comfort dish on a cold, rainy day. The tomato broth was prepared and seasoned well. The French onion soup was good too and their fries were pretty addicting! All in all I would recommend this spot for some good comforting bites. And, I didn't find them to be too pricey for the serving size... We were pleased, and our bellies were full.

I got a chance to visit Nonni's on Main Street in Pleasanton again last night before a show. What a pleasant Street we arrive without a reservation and we're quick seated on a Friday night Ban our server got out some grilled oysters first and then I had a salad as well as the lamb chops. Everything was delicious right down to my chamomile tea all four of us were very pleased with not only Our meal in the life basement but also the service and the environment is spectacular. I highly recommend !

Came on a Sunday so we thought it would be a bit of a wait but we were sat right away. The service was fine not great not bad. They have a great bottomless mimosas and they are bigger glasses for bottomless than the regular mimosas. We tried the Benedict's and they were fine nothing special. Fruit was good and fresh so that was nice. I came for the bourbon French toast and was disappointed I expected tons of flavor but they were just ok the syrup helped a bit but I was looking for more flavor after reading the description. It is pretty busy and it can get noisy as the tables inside are a bit closer together. It's a smaller space inside. The price to me for the food and taste was just not worth it. I did love the mimosas and will be back for those!

Stopped by downtown Pleasanton during "Weekends on Main" street fest, the road closed to vehicles creating a lovely and inviting atmosphere filled with adorable shops and eateries. Among this is Nonni's Bistro which was by far the most captivating establishment on the block this past Sunday. Gunhild Carling was performing live music during dinner time, that could be heard from afar, unique renditions of songs like Hello Dolly! as well as her classic march through the crowd with band members playing their instruments to the tune of When the Saints Go Marching In. The seating here is a bit tight, but they made it work. The musicians actually walked out into the street (Main Street closed to traffic for the street fest), and still squeezed themselves through the tables inside. She even took song requests from guests. I say it time and time again, Gunhild Carling is a remarkable performer, and I never get tired of her shows. Plus I think she performs at Nonni's regularly, her beautiful artwork is even displayed on the wall. No surprise, it was a full house both inside and outdoors when I came by this past weekend for dinner. I sat at the bar (it's small with only four seats), and the restaurant had its storefront windows opened up so guests could enjoy the live entertainment from inside too. Service was great as well. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and there were ample employees running around helping customers. I didn't encounter any unreasonable wait times, even with how busy the place was. For food, I ordered the croque madam with french onion soup as the side. The soup was delish, with the sweetness of caramelized onions in the savory broth, combined with the nutty flavor from the melted layer of cheese on top, it was yummy. The sandwich was even better, large in size, filled with thick slices of ham and lots of melted cheese, a runny egg on top, and flavorful toast that somehow stayed crisp on the bottom through my entire meal, with the taste of crispy cheese at the edges. Wow, I think I found my new favorite dish!

2.5 Stars The service and the interior of the restaurant were great! Our waiter was very nice, attentive, and helpful, answering all our questions about the menu. The food however, was very disappointing. With the price point and high quality energy of the restaurant we expected the food to be much better. First the bread and butter. While shaped like a beautiful rose, the butter was quite hard and difficult to spread. The rolls were warm and soft but not as flavorful as I would have expected. We got the baked oysters to start, and they were the worst thing about the meal by far. Once you finished the delicious toasted cheese on top, the oyster tasted like feet. They were wayy too fishy, and seemed quite old. For dinner I ordered the Penne Pasta, which came hot but lacked any real flavor outside of the basic tomato sauce. The parm did not melt at all into the pasta, and I could have done better by grating my own at home. My partner got the lamb. Which originally caused confusion, as we had two different prices for it on our menus. His stated it was $26 while mine had it at $49. With these vastly different prices we asked the waiter, who informed us that the more expensive price was the new "lamb chops" while his was the old "lamb patty." They were able to give him the original version which we appreciated. The lamb was a bit overcooked but otherwise he enjoyed his meal. The drinks were delicious, and they had a wide variety to choose from! With the cost of the meal, the food did not measure up. However, the waiter and the drinks were great!

The best European inspired restaurant in the area! Our favorites: French onion soup & goat cheese crepe. Their Mimosa pitcher is awesome! Great vibe and ambience. Staff is always prompt and courteous. Live music on Sundays. Nonnis is definitely a gem in the beautiful Pleasanton downtown!

Nonni's Bistro was the parent choice for their anniversary dinner and what a solid choice it was. The service and hospitality is topnotch and the live music elevates the ambiance. We all had various items and I had a scrumptious pork chop. Everything on my plate was delicious.

Visited for a weekday lunch and was quickly greeted with a friendly welcome. Small, simple menu and ordered: :: Seasonal Fish Pot - this was delicious with salmon, mussels, shrimp in a tomato-based broth similar to a cioppino which I love. The accompanying garlic-cheese toast was perfect! :: Filetto Sandwich - grilled beef sirloin with onion, mushrooms caramelized onions, greens, aioli on ciabatta - tender pieces of beef and yummy Service was friendly and efficient. Place is cozy and cute with outdoor parklet for dining. Will have to visit for dinner and the live music.

Nonni's really is a gem! The food was straight forward but exciting! There were three or four things on the menu I wanted to try but was very satisfied with my choices. The staff was excellent. The location was perfect for outdoor eating or an afternoon stroll after. There is street parking. It was very clean.

What time for Sunday live music ? Shall I make reservation?

I think the music started at 6 pm. You should definitely make a reservation.

Do they offer bottomless mimosas on weekdays (specifically Friday)?

No we do not. They are only served on the weekend as bottomless, although they are available during the week but just as a single serving.

Does Nonni's take brunch reservations? Their online reservation system doesn't provide any options before 3:30 pm it seems, and no one answers their phone.

I think they do for parties of 6 or more. I made a Saturday res for 11am but there were 11 of us.

Usually when I note a birthday occasion, restaurants will at least acknowledge it with a small dessert or candle, so I honestly thought there might be something small for us too -- though maybe that's only during dinner service. In the end, there wasn't anything. What upset me more was how rushed the experience felt near the end. Staff were very quick to clear empty plates, and when we got the dessert menu, we asked if the restaurant was closing. The staff member told us the kitchen would close in 5 minutes and rushed us to order dessert quickly. It honestly made the atmosphere feel stressful instead of enjoyable, especially for a birthday celebration. In the end, we didn't even order dessert and just left. I've experienced rushed dining before, but mostly at busy casual places, so I was surprised to experience this kind of atmosphere here. Overall, the experience felt more rushed than welcoming

I would skip the pirogi, a small portion of 1 for $10 and nothing special you can't get at a Russian bakery. Tea was flavorful, lasted 3 of us throughout the dinner (with hot water refills). For dessert we had 3 options, but 1 was out, so we got the honey cake and settled for the pavlova. Honey cake was the definite favorite, dense and creamy, exactly how it should be. The service was intimate. We had the host, bartender, and server checking up on us frequently. To be fair we had the place to ourselves the first half of dinner (around opening 5pm, then people started crowding in around 6). There were a few things that caught my eye, some Spanish and Italian types of dishes/sides nestled into this California type cuisine, a twist of sorts. With an array of too many great dishes, you just need to go in and expeirence this yourself. I would not place this on the most pricier side of venues in Los Altos, but also not one of the most inexpensive. It is a nice place. I think for two people, if you do not go overboard, have a drink and share a small dish and have your mains and a dessert, you could do this for about $200.00. or so. Follow-up: I couldn't have asked for a better response!…read more You don't have to take my word for it; James just proved my point for me. With his response, he demonstrated that he has no respect for the customer or his own establishment. I see now that he derides every customer who doesn't enjoy his service. SLOPPY GRAMMAR, SLOPPY SPELLING, SLOPPY SERVICE. While loyalty to your regulars is great, alienating new customers is a terrible growth strategy. His low-class act of going around and blabbing about other customers' money is more likely to turn off repeat customers than keep them coming back. I am flattered that he thinks they're my children, because they are angels. Their parents told me this restaurant would be a great place to celebrate Mother's Day because it had good reviews, and the website advertised that the kitchen had a kids' menu. I checked for myself today, and I see it's there, featured alongside all the other categories. He is denying that the restaurant advertises a kids' menu, but I struggle to see how that's not advertising one. It's such a foolish lie; it would be like denying Roja offers pasta or desserts. We were celebrating Mother's Day, so of course I am upset he chose that moment to insult my grandchildren and adult children. He made it sound like they were going to throw us out if my family made so much as a peep for the rest of our meal. Naturally, it put everyone on edge, not just the parents and me, but my other adult children at that table too. For a celebration like Mother's Day, the owner offered no grace. He claims there was some mass exodus of customers around us, but I didn't see that. In fact, they had many people seated near us the whole time, as far as I could tell. His faux apology highlights the contempt he has for his customers. He seems incapable of mustering the courtesy required for a sincere apology (and if James is reading this, that's how you correctly spell the word, for your information).
