What an awesome place! My cousin found this Italian winery after we had some Burmese food that was located just a few miles north in Pleasanton. I loved the entry way like and old italian villa with palm trees. Service was nice and the staff attentive but not bothersome. We did a tasting and then I bought a bottle for my cousin and I to share and for one to take home which we eventually shared too lol! The seating area is comfy and has views of the winery and where they make the wine. Totally cool out door seating that was full but not so close that you feel tight. The wine was nice and my cousin gets to pick as she knows more about me in regards to wine and I trust her choices. She is like my sister so I trust her. We both liked what we got and what we got to taste. Overall we both Liked Rubino and we would go again. Service needs help! Not very accommodating. Even in situations where there is nobody around - it's hard to get chairs and tables put together. We are having a chill time but there is a time limit even tho it's not full. Weird concept. Totally understand if it's full and need to be mindful of timing, but it's NOT full. A new member here -- we had a reservation for a Saturday afternoon for a party of six. We were initially seated in the fountain area but were later moved to the patio after a large party left. We stayed for about two hours and were never informed of any time limit on the table or that another reservation was scheduled for the same spot. About five minutes before the next party's reservation, we were abruptly asked to close our tab and leave, even though we haven't finished our drinks. We also were not offered the option to move to another table. While we understand how busy the place can get, it would have been courteous to inform us ahead of time about any time restrictions. Cute winery with some shaded seating which is essential during the Tri valley summers! It was about a 3.5 star experience. The wine tasting here is a flight so all the drinks come out as once. As of summer 2025, the tastings range from $25-35. I wish they had a mixed tasting for whites and reds but unfortunately they didn't when we visited. Rubino comps tastings if you buy 2 bottles, which start at $22. Service was okay but interactions were concise and infrequent. Really wanted to love this winery but it was not a hit for us. Usually we find 1 or 2 wines that we really enjoy and bring home with us but during this visit we didn't like any of our pours. Actually we did enjoy the sparkling wine they gave us at the beginning so we did take a bottle of that home but the rest of the flight was just ok. Nothing stood out to us and sometimes they tasted a little too similar. My husband had the reds and he usually finds a red he loves but even he decided to pass. I will say that I gave them an extra star because everyone who worked here was amazing and really knowledgeable on the wines. The property is stunningly beautiful as well and I really did enjoy my time here. So I do think it's worth the visit as my palette may be different from others. read more

Came here for a birthday date on a misty and gloomy Saturday but still opted to have our wine tasting outdoors since the patio seating was spacious & the views were still nice. There's a fountain centerpiece right up front surrounded by flowers and some palm trees. Unfortunately, I think the staff forgot we were seated outside as we were the only party out there and there was no additional service/check-ins after they dropped off our flights. We didn't see anyone again until we went inside the main building to look at their wines. We ordered the white wine flight & landmark red wine flight and both were good. A friend and I were looking for a winery close to Dublin for wine tasting on a Saturday and this gem popped up! It's 15 mins from Dublin but ivery secluded and seems like it is far from the city. Very quiet and plenty of parking. There is no covered parking and Pleasanton generally has very hot days so some covered parking would be nice. We walked in to be seated and even before we paid, we got a glass of their bubbly to try! That's service! They have 1 white tastings and 3 red. Tastings are $25 and are comped if you buy 2 bottles. We decided to sit inside because it was hot and windy outside. We were walked to our table and when we were seated, the server explained the tastings, the membership etc. Nancy was very helpful, she even got me a box of corks when I asked if they had any to spare. Even though there were a lot of people inside, it was quiet. They bring out all the glasses in the tasting (4) at one time and explain the various wines. The rose was yummy but I didn't think any of them were as good as the glass of introductory bubbly. We each bought 2 bottles and with the tasting comped, each bottle turned out to be about $22 plus tax. They have a beautiful bar and plenty of seating. They also have a small deli with sandwiches and chips. On Wednesdays, they also have 2 for 1 tastings and something called a Duck Tour where they drive you around the estate and at each station, you get to do one tasting, for e.g.: when you stop at the chardonnay grapes, you taste the chardonnay etc. I highly recommend this place! read more

Ordered a bottle of wine, cooled off inside for a bit, and our server was friendly enough--told us we'd need to move outside at 5:30, no problem. Fast forward to closing time: it's hot, we've had wine and lots of water. Five minutes before they shut the doors, I ask to use the restroom. The response? "Sorry, it's already been cleaned." Ah yes, nothing says hospitality like telling a paying customer to cross their legs and pray for a gas station. The wine was fine, but the customer service? This place is fun and convenient. Not the best winery for esthetics now wine but convenient. They do have a super cool store inside. It has anything charcuterie you need to make your own board. Yes you make it yourself but they loan you the board and knife. They sale meats, cheeses, spreads, crackers, chocolates, olives and more. You get 4 tasting for $30. Since we don't drink and drive,, the staff helped us navigate the selection down to three wines to try at home. We tried the Landmark Collection Proprietary Red tonight and now will try others later. It was my first visit to Rubino and I enjoyed my time! We came on a rainy Sunday afternoon and walked in for patio seating. Even with the rain, it was so lovely to be out and about. We both had different flights of red and shared a charcuterie board. Service was ok; not the best but in this situation I was more than happy with being left alone to enjoy my wine. We were first introduced to Rubino wines on our wedding day in 2016, and finally had the opportunity to go wine tasting since we were back at the Palm Event Center for family portraits. We stopped by without a reservation. My husband and I shared a landmark flight. The tasting begins with a glass of sparking wine, and loved the refreshing start to our tasting. There is a deli in the front, with mostly charcuterie and cheese that you can grab yourself to be rung up by the cashier. They waive the $25 tasting fee if you purchase 2 bottles. We ended up bringing back a bottle of the sparkling, Landmark Sangiovese, and Landmark Barbera. There's also a small area in the back, if you're interested in hosting a private event. Ah, Rubino - the Cal-Ital winery. This winery really got me more interested in the wine scene in Livermore and Pleasanton area. Yet, none others in the vicinity are as good as Rubino Estates to me... It all started as my fiancee and I were going wedding venue "shopping." Located by Palm Event Center, we were impressed with the palm tree driveway as you turn in. Although we didn't end up selecting the location for our wedding, they did encourage us to try the wine next door (at Rubino Estates), as that was the one they partner with. Upon having our first flight there, we were hooked. The flights themselves are pretty neat, coming in a spiral holder with four glasses. The first time we were there, I remember the red wines all being super solid - there were none that my fiancee and I didn't like. In fact, we enjoyed them so much that we got our first (and still only) wine club membership here! We like that there is a variety of price ranges of wine (from $18-$50+) but generally affordable for what we like. The requirements of the membership are four bottles that they select every quarter for pick-up, but you have the ability to swap. The benefits are free tastings for up to four and discounts on bottles. Our favorite is getting the 12 bottle wine "case" (3 bottles of four different release wines) for $200 - it's a steal considering the quality of wine. In any case, lots of great things to say about the wine, staff, and proximity (i.e. not having to go all the way up to Napa or Sonoma...), and we enjoy taking our friends and family up to try it out! read more

November experience: Came here for my grandpa's 88th birthday! Since COVID, he hasn't really been anywhere so this is his first time at a winery in years and he was excited. I loved the grand entrance with the palm trees ! It lead straight to the front of Rubino Estates Winery. There is a lovely building on the left when you drive in and that is the Palm event center so don't mistaken that for the winery. We didn't make any reservations so the very nice gal at the entrance helped us check in. We first paid at the cashier and they gave us the option to sit at the lounge area or courtyard. We decided on the lounge area since it's shaded and more spacious. Once we sat down, we all received a glass of complimentary sparkling wine. It was delicious!We didn't get any food since we ate lunch before coming. There were 5 of us so we ordered three flights (white and red wines) to share. It's $25 per flight; complementary for club members. I'm not a wine expert but I really enjoyed the wines! My grandparents enjoyed them as well and they had a great time! It's Fall time so the leaves on the grape vines are a mixture of red, orange and yellow with a background of green meadow. It's such a gorgeous and breathtaking view! My Fiancee and I spent brunch time at this Winery for date day. Beautiful property with lots of parking. It was a sunny Saturday so we relaxed in the Courtyard with wine flights. Service here was just ok. We did enjoy a few of the selections but the 22 Centanni Rosso really stood out. My first ever wine stop in Livermore and it was a disappointment. With all the raving reviews I really wanted to like Rubino. I guess my experience was not great. If you're not a member the tasting is $20/pp. Unwelcoming and terrible service. No one explained anything or how the flights worked. We sat there for a while before even being noticed and we were inside. The wines do need time to open up so plan for a longer stay, but with such terrible service we left and due to Covid there was a time limit apparently. Rubino gives me all the feels. I like coming to Livermore for wine-tasting because the wines are great quality and I don't have to drive for almost two hours to go to Napa. I've visited this establishment a handful of times with different groups to friends and the Palm Event Center next door is a beautiful venue for a wedding. I came here during the pandemic with reservations for a Sunday and it was so calm and relaxing. There weren't too many people there. We sat by the fountain outside on a November morning, so it was a little chilly, but enough sun to balance out. It's $20 per tasting (half the price of Napa) and the bottles are so reasonably priced. I liked their sparkling the best so we got a few bottles of that to go. The service was on par and staff is so nice and accommodating. It's a beautiful place to be. read more

I have been a member here now for almost 8 years and while I enjoy their wines, sometimes the service can be a hit or miss. It could just be me , but I feel like when you're a member sometimes that doesn't benefit you in the quality of service you receive. I've observed on numerous occasions they cater above and beyond to the non-members in hopes they will join. That makes sense, but make sure you keep the current members happy . I also have been met with attitude by some of the women (way too many times) as if they can't be bothered waiting on you. It's just always inconsistent which sometimes makes me wonder why I continue the membership. Then I think the wine, duh! Their outdoors has amazing ambiance and this winery is still one of the so called "kid friendly" ones that still exist. 3-3.5 stars, but rounding down since I didn't quite love my experience, and they also do not allow outside food. You can make reservations, but the system only showed 3pm as the latest reservation time. They do take walk-ins, and we decided to take a chance and stop by. It was busy at 4pm on a Saturday, but they have a lot of different seating areas available, and it wasn't packed at that time. We were seated when we arrived; however, they tried to get us to pay for their cheapest tasting right away ($25/person for 5 pours). We also received a complimentary pour of their sparkling brut to start, which was dry, and not too sweet. Luckily, we were able to defer making a decision until we sat down and had a chance to look at their menu. We actually sat inside since the majority of seating was socially distanced, and it was crazy hot outside during the summer months. They had a few options for flights, and the tasting fee is waived with the purchase of 2 bottles. We ended up purchasing a bottle of their 2019 Landmark Founders Blend ($52), which was fruity and smooth, with some peppery notes. Although this was a good wine, the price point was on the higher side. Overall, Rubino Estates Winery was a good spot to go for wine tasting in Livermore, especially since they allow walk-ins and have such large indoor and outdoor seating areas. Although they don't allow outside food to be brought in, they have a small "deli" area with cheese/cured meats/crackers/snacks available for sale. The drive up here is super cute and fancy. It reminded me of the drive when you enter Stanford through the main entrance and it's all lined up with palm trees. Making a reservation was a breeze on Tock and luckily found a spot for the next day (Saturday). You can reserve the fountain area or the courtyard. The courtyard was fully booked but the fountain area was available so we booked that - can't be picky! We were running a little late and I called them to let them know. Sherry/Cheryl was sooo sweet on the phone and just made me feel calm as I was already stressing out because we were running late. She was like, I'll see you when you get here! don't worry! We were greeted by the friendly staff out front. Sherry or Cheryl? was just as friendly in person! When we checked in, we were told by the check-in gal that we were seated in the courtyard. I told her that was odd because when I tried booking, it was fully booked so that's why I booked the fountain and showed her my confirmation. She's like, well you got it! But after seeing the fountain area on our way in, it looked much cuter in my opinion. She was like oh I see here you did book the fountain, but were moved. I asked if we could still be seated in the fountain area and she said yes :) maybe they had a cancellation? I don't know, but the fountain is cuter in my opinion because you're more outdoorsy with an umbrella. The courtyard seemed a little more formal to me with the patio furniture if you like that. Right away at check-in you pay in advance. I'd done some yelp research ahead of time and saw they had a $25 and $35 tasting. The $25 called out to me because of the whites and the $35 seemed to be a tasting of reds and whites. So I knew what I wanted, but we weren't asked which one we wanted and the gal just said "your total is $50". Okayyyy giirl. As we were occupied at the counter, someone approached us with 2 glasses of their sparkling wine. I loved this! and it was also super tasty and sweet. It was separate from the 4 wines in the tasting. I felt a little rushed as we were escorted to our table quite fast so we didn't have time to look around inside and completely missed the deli! Actually, we weren't told, "hey here's the deli" or explained how anything flowed. I wouldn't have even known they had one if it wasn't for my Yelp research lol. We were seated and then got up again just to go inside and check it out. They have a promotion, buy 3 items, you get 1 cracker/bread item free. So of course we had to do this and also because we were hungry and hadn't had breakfast. The jalapeno cheese was SO good, it was creamy and a little spicy. The salame wrapped around the cheese was also good and noticed other tables had this too. The bleu cheese stuffed olives were also good. For our free item, we chose the rosemary crackers. We were given a board thingy, paper plates, plastic forks, napkins, and a good sturdy knife. We took everything to our table and assembled the charcuterie ourselves. This part seemed different to me. I've been to other wineries where I order a charcuterie and it comes assembled, if you know what I mean. So here it was different to have empty wrappers on our table. Not a huge deal except when stuff started blowing away because no one was coming to clear our trash. Eventually someone came :) I do wish they offered hearty food options, like a salad w/chicken or pizza or something. Just eat before you come here as they only have snacky foods. I got the white wine flight and my husband got the red. The wines were okay but we didn't have a favorite that we were willing to buy a bottle or two. Harry and Cheryl checked on us. Again, Cheryl is super sweet! Harry asked us if we wanted to purchase any bottles, we said no. He asked if we wanted to revisit anything and I was like, "OMG the welcome wine at the beginning was SOOO GOOD!" and he was like, I gotchu ;) I thought he'd come back with 2 glasses, one for me and one for my husband. But this dude came back with 4 glasses and he's like, here's the sparkling wine and since you liked it so much, I thought I'd bring you some moscato too. DUUUUDE! HARRY! YOU'RE AMAZING! I thought that was super thoughtful and kind of him. Like he knew what I liked and went above and beyond. Well he was right because the moscato was my favorite and it wasn't even part of the tasting. I left happy :) We didn't feel rushed at all and we were over our stay by 15 minutes. I loved that we were there at 11am because it wasn't super packed. We walked the grounds a bit and around the back where they have other seating too! They host weddings here and we happened to walk by the hall/ballroom and see the set-up for the wedding. gorgeous! Also the ceremony space was cute. I like that the wedding area is held in a separate building, just far enough away from the tasting room where you don't have to worry about patrons crashing your wedding or something like that. read more
