Ruby Hill Winery was such a great experience from start to finish! The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming--super knowledgeable and more than happy to answer any and every question we had. You can tell they really know their wines and love sharing that passion with guests. They guided us through our tasting with great recommendations and helped us choose the perfect bottles to take home. The setting is beautiful, the wine is excellent, and the service made it all even better. Can't wait to come back!

Went on the bus tour this time , we had 14 people. You need i believe 8 to book this bus tour, but I'm not too exact, the best thing to do is call ahead to book. The tour was about 2 hours, starts with a white sparkling wine. Then we stop in the middle of the wine vines to drink something made from those exact vines ! Then we stopped at the barrel room, see pictures posted. Then a wonderful wine and cheese at the former well tower, quite fun to learn how to decant a wine. We ended back at the place where the bus parks. James was a joy to see drive us around, please request him! And don't worry he's qualified he is a retired firefighter. Totally recommend the bus wine tour

Came here for their membership appreciation night and to pick up my wine allotment. Clive is always so welcoming and knowledgeable. Ruby Hill really knows how to show their wine members that they are appreciated. All of the wine tastings came with food pairings, (cheese and crackers, salami, olive tapenieda, etc). Plus, all of the staff were so happy to talk about their amazing wines. Thank you Ruby Hill. You really know how to make your members feel loved and appreciated....

Ambiance is always a vibe, we made a little charcuterie board and it was amazing to eat. The service started off with no one attending to us for almost 15mins.. Then after that it was great... But his is one of my favorite spots.. I will be back

My husband and I are members so we try to come here once or twice a quarter! We usually come on Sundays after 3ish with no reservation. Usually it's not busy or packed but if it is the staff always makes sure they find us a table inside or in one of their covered rooms since we bring our boys and it would get pretty chilly outside. They're kid and pet friendly so that's a huge plus for us cause we love bringing our kids. In terms of which flight to choose from, try all. Their wines are tasty and I always pick a few items from their shop like crackers and cheese. Overall I love coming here!

As the owner of MitraArtCake, I've had the pleasure of working with Ruby Hill on several events -- it's always a beautiful experience. The venue is elegant, and the staff is professional and supportive. If you visit Ruby Hill's Yelp page, you'll find photos of my work featured there. Many of the cakes you see in those event photos are made by me -- a reflection of both artistry and taste. I'd be honored to help you create the most beautiful, delicious, and memorable cake for your special day. Looking forward to being a part of your celebration!

Amazing time .. I stumbled on this winery while in the area They don't allow out side food but have food to purchase. The offer a quarter membership for $150 if I am remembering correctly which includes 4 bottles of wine and free tastings .. it's actually a really good deal. But it's best to purchase at the beginning of the quarter ie. April!!! I look forward to coming back . JohnQ was our host and he was AMAZING clearly someone who enjoys his job. He was very informative and knowledgeable. He didn't try to up sale us and provided very good pairing suggestions. They had heaters for the outdoor area and indoor seating. We didn't have a reservation and were walks in and staff quickly got us seated despite having several reservations at the time we arrived. It was a good experience.

We stopped by Ruby Hill on the recommendation of one of the servers at another tasting room on a weekday. We couldn't be happier with the recommendation! Ruby Hill isn't a picturesque lookout point but they have a tasting area that is super comfy, with cozy cushioned chairs and some tables/chairs. Definitely a relaxed environment. The area is mostly shaded though some areas you could get some sun. There were plenty of people there for tastings, though tables were still available without a wait. The servers were great, very friendly and helpful. The pours were generous. They waived the tasting fee with the purchase of two bottles. We ended up purchasing two of their smaller production wines. One fun fact is that they have a specific wine that, when purchased, they make donations to Valley Humane Society -- and they had already donated over 75k! On that note, they are also super dog friendly, just make sure your pup is friendly/well behaved. Children are welcome to join as well (they should also be well behaved).

Ventured off to Livermore to check out the Vineyards. Little did I know it was just amazing like Napa. The distance is a bit far but decided to give it a chance. Many friends have gotten married at Rubyhill and I thought why not check out wine tasting. Non member 25pp or buy a bottle and it will cover the tasting. Gorgeous patio to chill and enjoy sips of wine. Definitely I will be coming back, they have their own private bus that takes you to 3 wineries and a pairing with cheese/crackers for 45pp. Salut!

I'm glad that I got to try this winery with my now former ex-boyfriend as he's a member of them. We got to do the wine tasting, and it's so cool that they serve the wine glasses in this cascading glasses holder. So beautiful! I definitely enjoyed it, and my fave one was the Peacock Zin, in which he bought a couple bottles which we enjoyed afterwards. The grounds were beautiful, and I believe they were having a wedding there too in the other part of the place. It was a lovely memory that I got to experience with him that I'll never forget. :)

Winery membership has its privileges I became a member of Ruby Hill because I absolutely LOVE the wine selection, atmosphere outdoor-fun open tasting space- and reservations whenever I like. The wine itself- lots of reds, from dry to robust taste. They have a sparkling as well as great whites. Patchwork Zen is delicious. I get 15% of as a member and free tasting for up to 4 people. I get about 4-5 bottles every three months never more thank $135. I can swap them at pick up. They have a great selection of vittles- cheeese, Olives, crackers and deli meat. Bring your friends!

Tucked away along the winding backroads of Castro Valley, this charming winery feels like a little secret escape. It's quiet, secluded, and has a really welcoming vibe. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. I learned the winery has been around since 2003 and produces around 1,000 cases a year. All sold exclusively at the vineyard. We did a tasting that included a sparkling, two whites, two reds, and ended with a fun slushy rosé. Honestly, I liked every single one which never happens for me! After the tasting, we didn't want to leave. The setting was so relaxing, we ended up opening one of the two bottles we bought and spent the rest of the afternoon soaking it all in. A few tips if it's your first time: tastings are only offered on the second and fourth weekends of each month. There's a $10 tasting fee for six wines, but it's waived if you purchase a bottle (which are very reasonably priced at around $16). They don't sell food, but you're welcome to bring your own, something we'll definitely do next time. So glad we found this place such a peaceful spot, just minutes from home. We'll definitely be back!

We booked Nella Terra over a year in advance and worked with Kendall and Whitney. They were both amazing to work with and answered my many questions, gave me multiple quotes so I can see how many guests I can have to work with my budget and they even sent us a bottle of wine when we were getting closer to the date! The team was very very patient and worked with me with everything I was envisioning to happen. Wedding day was amazing, guests complimented the beauty of the hidden gem , the bar tending services, our wonderful onsite shuttle driver for family members who had trouble walking down the stairs and especially the welcoming champagne. It was truly a magical experience for everyone at the wedding. Everyone had the same comment of "when driving to the venue, it was confusing as if you're in the middle of no where , but once you make that left turn going to the parking lot you are in awe and excited to go down the stairs". As for the wedding party, the bridal cottage was a great area for the girls to hang out, take pictures and drink champagne. I loved how there was a secluded bathroom there too for the awkward dress holding time when needing to use the restroom - tons of space if you have a long train dress!. The groomsmen enjoyed the bocce ball court area as well and got to play. Walking around Nella Terra alone just makes you feel like you're far away and in a magical place. Everything catches your eye from the vineyard , the stairs, the water fall, palm trees and even the beautiful white tent for reception. You feel and see the love and beauty the place holds because of its up-keeping and how the team there is beyond welcoming to everyone! I highly recommend this venue for anyone especially if you want amazing photo ops for you and your guests, but really for an amazing time. Nella Terra cellars is beyond perfect!

Plenty of areas to get gorgeous photos but without being tacky in a way that scream "we did this for likes on Instagram." There's also a large tiled space for a party tent, along with space for vendors and portable bathrooms, along with fire pits, and sofas. It is an active cattle ranch with at least one llama. From the breathtaking architecture and lush vineyards to the impeccable service, every detail felt truly magical - it was beyond anything we could have imagined. My husband and I were searching for a venue that captured that rustic Italian/Spanish villa charm - we loved the idea of a wine country wedding, but many Napa/Sonoma venues were completely out of budget. Then we found Casa and it was everything we hoped for and more. We decided to DIY almost all of our décor (so much so that we arrived with a U-Haul!), and I was nervous about how everything would come together. But the staff at Casa Real completely exceeded our expectations. They were incredibly organized, patient, and accommodating, which took so much stress off of us. Despite hiring external day-of coordinators, our on-site coordinator, Jenny, was a standout. She was warm, proactive, and genuinely invested in making our wedding perfect. Every interaction with her felt like we were in great hands. The entire Casa Real team was also very flexible and professional when working with our external vendors -- everyone from our live painter to our photo booth, rental company, and DJ felt supported by the venue staff. One of my favorite moments was during cocktail hour: we barely had time to grab bites ourselves, but our servers made sure we were taken care of. They literally trailed us with hors d'oeuvres and champagne so we could enjoy the food and drinks without missing a moment - it was such a thoughtful touch! Our guests couldn't stop complimenting the flawless flow of the evening, the gorgeous grounds, and the outstanding hospitality. Casa Real's grand ballroom felt romantic and elegant, and the staff's professionalism helped preserve our vision while keeping everything seamlessly on schedule. If you're a couple hoping for a venue that values service as much as style, I cannot recommend Casa Real enough. They went above and beyond for us and helped create the most memorable day of our lives. So that to me means it's top of the line membership as indicated by their pricing and what we get. So I feel I should get top notch deals, pricing and service. Turns out, we get the same shaft as the lower club members. Starting with the good, the location is pristine. Nice area with lots of room for kids and adults to mingle and play. The wine is also pretty darn good. Of course there are some better than others but I enjoy most of their wine. The service is also for the most part very good. The waitstaff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. Their food is also pretty darn good. It's not incredible, and a bit overpriced but it's fine enough. Their wine pricing is also fair (but of course with the highest membership we get the biggest discount). My biggest complaints would be the price gouging and lack of communication. We made arrangements on a Friday to show Sunday with 6 and asked for the "VIP space upgrade to lounge or upstairs Vista Patio Lounge (when available)". They said no problem. When we showed on Sunday they said it was closed with no notice. Just a sorry. OK whatever. We sit inside (6 people and 2 children) and they charge for 2 children a "non drinker" charge of $10 ($5 each). A head count charge for non-drinkers? For children? Total nonsense! I am spending over $1,200 a year here and you want to gouge me for someone's kids? Their tastings are $40 a pop which is really crazy. Our price is waived on this so that's fine but if you are not a member you are paying a lot for a little. The wines do take a bit of time to come and they don't give you a lot. Kind of a bummer waiting for the taste. We ended up with 4 appetizers (sliders $24, Charcuterie $25, Tater Tots $12 and Pretzel Bites with Grilled Sausage $16) 2 bottles of wine and $4.25 for water and the bill was over $250. Oh and top that off, with 6 people, they charge a mandatory 20% on the bill for a tip and are basing that with taxes (as the button default), not the actual sub-total so they are actually getting about 23%. All in all, I am not sure that the cost is worth what you get. I mean we are giving them a lot of money just to be members and then having to pay more and more for anything else that really should be included (like water and kids) makes this place just a bit too over-rated for me. Probably end my club membership in the fall and go someplace that doesn't place money first.

Was a little bit of bummer bc we saw everyone else who was seated outside still very much enjoying their tastings. Also I don't know if the hostess who greeted us was new or if she actually wasn't even a worker bc she looked very young. But she handed us menus and told us to "pick a table outside". So we started walking thru what looked like a kitchen/clean up area and workers immediately told us we had entered a room we shouldn't have. Kind of weird and kind of frustrating that the hostess or whoever greeted us didn't tell us anything after handing us menus. I will say the gentleman who did help us was 5 stars. I ordered a glass of sparkling rose and while he gave me the last pour of an old bottle (completely flat), he acknowledged it was the last pour of the old bottle and opened a new bottle in front of us- that sparkling rose was crisp and fresh and light. Also- another thing to note- this winery doesn't allow outside food. Their menu is a lot more extensive (and expensive) than other wineries. Not a huge deal for us as this was our second stop and the other two allowed food so we brought and ate our picnic there!
