While Wente is situated on a beautiful property, it was one of the most disappointing wine tasting experiences. Upon arrival, it seemed life staff were more concerned with socializing amongst one another than offering any assistance. After being seated, we waited a long time for anyone to come give us water or explain to us the tasting options. Eventually Paulette came, but she seemed a bit confused with her assigned tables and didn't seem too confident when presenting the wines listed in the different tastings. My husband and I chose the 5-wine tasting flight, and my mom-in-law chose the Nth degree tasting flight (all reds). The only one I enjoyed from our flight was the Sauvignon Blanc. Everything else, especially the Rosé, was extremely disappointing, especially for the cost of the tastings.

We went to The Grill at Wente and the outdoor seating was beautiful. Our server was friendly and the service was very quick. We shared the dip trio and the favorites were the hummus and artichoke dip. We also got the brussel sprouts and all of my group loved them they said they were the best brussel sprouts they'd ever had. For me I personally prefer more savory brussel sprouts, so they were a bit sweet for me. I got the fish and chips and the fish was well battered and fried, but it needed some lemon on the side and the tartar sauce really elevated the fish. There were so many fries, but we enjoyed how thin and crispy they were.

A friend and I wanted to get a tasting together and this was open on a Wednesday (one of the only wineries open 7 days a week btw). There are two tasting menus and we opted to do both so we could try all 10 offerings. Steve helped us and gave us some background information about the winery and the different wines. He is super knowledgeable, personable and was overall a GOOD VIBE! We loved the wines and his service so much, I signed up for a membership They do allow kids and pets but only in the outdoor seating. Parts of outdoor have heaters right above, which is a plus! It's not that far from home so can't wait to go back!

    This is my favorite!

Went here in one of their ending Summer event. The grounds are huge and beautiful. We sat outside, got our bottle of wine and just chilled and talked for an hour or two. They had food stalls at the event, it was okay and a bit expensive. Would like to come back for a proper wine tasting next time or try out the food at the restaurant.

First time going to wente for a tasting. It was a lot of fun! The place reminds me of being in someone's hone. It's very cozy. Our tasting server was Sheila and she was very nice and friendly. Very knowledgeable about all the wines and even though we were tasting she let us try a couple other wines just because they're her favorite. Overall it was a great day

Steve was a wonderful and knowledge host for us. We walked away with 3 bottles of wine so we obviously enjoyed our tasting. Just shy of 5 stars for the setting. The Wente (pronounced "when-tea") patio is nice but the restaurant turned tasting room has a view of the parking lot.

I was in the area hiking and seen this place on the way decided to stop by after. The atmosphere is beautiful. I did a walk in and was seated quickly. I decided to sit outside since it was a beautiful day. Liz was very pleasant and explained all the wine in detail. I opted for the wine tasting so 5 different wines to taste for $40. Not bad at all. A great place to enjoy wine.

Atmosphere 10/10! Wine 10/10! We came for a tasting and ended up buying some bottles. They offered 2 tastings so my boyfriend did one and I did the other and we shared eachother. We also got a charcuterie plate. Everything was beyond delicious! The only downside was no discount on tastings if you buy bottles. We will definitely be back !

Our first visit to Wente was fun, relaxing, and easygoing. To celebrate a weekday birthday, we enjoyed a delicious lunch on an umbrella-covered patio overlooking the golf course. Afterward we headed to our wine tasting and enjoyed views of the grounds. Service was excellent - personable, genuine, and attentive.

I attended Wente's annual white party on 5/25/25. The event was from 1-5, guests are encouraged to line up early. I arrived just before noon and there were a handful of people already lined up. There was conflicting information, some saw online that doors open at noon, and when I called I was told line up early preferably noon or 12:30 and doors open at time of event. We received a splash of their "2024" Sauvignon Blanc upon entering. The lawn area had large tables that seated 9 with white table cloths. There were two alcohol stations, one for bottle service, and the other station for mixed drinks, bottled wine, and wine by the glass. They had 3 food trucks, and a few vendors. The crowd was lively, and the dance floor was bumping. The event was cashless so make sure you have your credit/debit card on hand. A fun event to kickstart your summer.

Came here for a wine tasting today with a party of 3, we had reservations for 12noon. Since it was blazing hot outside in Livermore, we called ahead to ask for an indoor seating. I did the $40 tasting menu, and my friends and I shared the charcuterie cheese plate for $25. I also ended up taking home of the $50 Aly's pinot, since it was my favorite from the tasting. Pros: - The staff pouring for us was super knowledgeable about the winery and gave us a lot of cool facts! I had no idea that Wente was one of the oldest wineries in California (she said 1800's!!??) and it's supposedly one of the oldest (if not the oldest?) family owned winery in California, for 5 generations. Also apparently more than 75% of the chardonnay grapes in California are descendants of Wente chardonnay, pretty cool. I love learning about a winery's history so this was fun to listen to. - Pretty unique tasting menu - I liked that they were upfront that Livermore shouldn't try to compete with Napa cabs - but we tasted a really good pinot, and a really good cab franc, and a great duetto. The brute that we started with was also delicious. - Easy parking lot with lots of space, and they didn't get annoyed that we were 15 mins late to our reservation time. It was bustling and clearly a popular winery, but not so crowded where we felt like there wasn't enough space to talk, laugh, and be served. - Really beautiful tasting room! Loved the wine shelf in the middle of the room and really pretty outdoor area. - The charcuterie board was actually really delicious! not cheap cheeses and pretty delicious fruit (a little overpriced but there's limited options there) Cons: - the rose wine was mid to me. - No discounts for bottles you take home if you do the tasting Overall, would definitely not mind coming back for the ambiance, wine, and cheese! Appropriate pricing in my opinion and everyone who interacted with us was super friendly.

Amazing place and would love to visit again

We know she will only work at places with exceptional wines and Wente was exactly that. It was a beautiful high end experience where Carina took the time to pour us each wine individually and explain the rich history of the winery. It's absolutely stunning.  Love the design, it's immaculate, and delicious. Easy-peasy parking right off of Arroyo Road.  From the moment the gf and I walked thru the gate, we were wowed.  It's lovely, with lots of variety to sit and sip: Tables around a grass area, covered patio, standing in tasting room, cabanas, or outside in open grounds near casual grub. * Cabanas need advanced reservations. I like how if you want a glass of wine, you are so enticed to buy a bottle.  For example, if you want a glass of chardonnay, it will cost you $12.  Two, $24.  A bottle is $22.  And, if you can't drink it all, cork it and throw it safely into your trunk until you get home. #LoveWenteVineyards

So that to me means it's top of the line membership as indicated by their pricing and what we get. So I feel I should get top notch deals, pricing and service. Turns out, we get the same shaft as the lower club members. Starting with the good, the location is pristine. Nice area with lots of room for kids and adults to mingle and play. The wine is also pretty darn good. Of course there are some better than others but I enjoy most of their wine. The service is also for the most part very good. The waitstaff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. Their food is also pretty darn good. It's not incredible, and a bit overpriced but it's fine enough. Their wine pricing is also fair (but of course with the highest membership we get the biggest discount). My biggest complaints would be the price gouging and lack of communication. We made arrangements on a Friday to show Sunday with 6 and asked for the "VIP space upgrade to lounge or upstairs Vista Patio Lounge (when available)". They said no problem. When we showed on Sunday they said it was closed with no notice. Just a sorry. OK whatever. We sit inside (6 people and 2 children) and they charge for 2 children a "non drinker" charge of $10 ($5 each). A head count charge for non-drinkers? For children? Total nonsense! I am spending over $1,200 a year here and you want to gouge me for someone's kids? Their tastings are $40 a pop which is really crazy. Our price is waived on this so that's fine but if you are not a member you are paying a lot for a little. The wines do take a bit of time to come and they don't give you a lot. Kind of a bummer waiting for the taste. We ended up with 4 appetizers (sliders $24, Charcuterie $25, Tater Tots $12 and Pretzel Bites with Grilled Sausage $16) 2 bottles of wine and $4.25 for water and the bill was over $250. Oh and top that off, with 6 people, they charge a mandatory 20% on the bill for a tip and are basing that with taxes (as the button default), not the actual sub-total so they are actually getting about 23%. All in all, I am not sure that the cost is worth what you get. I mean we are giving them a lot of money just to be members and then having to pay more and more for anything else that really should be included (like water and kids) makes this place just a bit too over-rated for me. Probably end my club membership in the fall and go someplace that doesn't place money first.

This place is really beautiful, with fountains, gardens, vineyards, and cabanas. As I entered, the staff was really friendly and immediately offered me a glass of wine. We had reserved the entire outdoor cabana area, but since it was raining, we moved the party indoors. The indoor area is really nice with wooden tables and fresh flowers. What's nice is that we can bring food in, so we had food doordashed in. They also have games like corn hole and jenga available. It was a wonderful afternoon of eating, drinking, and walks around their vineyards. My coworker said she has attended a wedding and a birthday party here. This is a great venue for a special event. It's not as large as Concannon or Wente. It's rustic and charming. I'm not a wine drinker, so I can't comment on the quality of their wines.

They have a small menu but the food is delicious and offer large portions. I had the Grilled Gruyere, Prosciutto, Plum & Sour Cherry Jam Sandwich for $18. It was so good with plenty of chunks of prosciutto and Gruyère cheese. My friend had the Chicory and Asian Pear Salad for $18. Large portion offered, which can be shared. She enjoyed the salad. Bryan our server was the best, lively, kind, hospitable, and made us feel special. I will be back!

Roger took care of us, and his customer service was brilliant. Since it was our first time, he took the time to explain each wine, and even cheered with us for our anniversary on the first one Truly top-notch service. We also received a complimentary wine glass, which was such a nice touch. We noticed Bryan helping the table next to us as well, and he also provided excellent customer service. The entire place was very pretty, clean, and organized. They had an outdoor fire pit and kindly turned it on for me since I was cold--it definitely helped keep me warm along with the wine! The dip and crackers were so good--I especially loved the creamy cheese dip. We also ordered the chocolate lava cake; it was okay... but I have to say, Domino's lava cake might still be my favorite lol. Overall, we would definitely go again!

Review is solely from our time walking up to getting seated at a table. We made a reservation to…read morewine taste at this winery and when we got to the winery, were told we missed the window for wine tasting and could only order by the glass or bottle. Was a little bit of bummer bc we saw everyone else who was seated outside still very much enjoying their tastings. Also I don't know if the hostess who greeted us was new or if she actually wasn't even a worker bc she looked very young. But she handed us menus and told us to "pick a table outside". So we started walking thru what looked like a kitchen/clean up area and workers immediately told us we had entered a room we shouldn't have. Kind of weird and kind of frustrating that the hostess or whoever greeted us didn't tell us anything after handing us menus. I will say the gentleman who did help us was 5 stars. I ordered a glass of sparkling rose and while he gave me the last pour of an old bottle (completely flat), he acknowledged it was the last pour of the old bottle and opened a new bottle in front of us- that sparkling rose was crisp and fresh and light. Also- another thing to note- this winery doesn't allow outside food. Their menu is a lot more extensive (and expensive) than other wineries. Not a huge deal for us as this was our second stop and the other two allowed food so we brought and ate our picnic there!
